Wrong outfit

I never wear the right outfit in KCD, it's a curse. The fade to black in the love scene was hilarious in my playthrough because, yeah... It must have taken a looooong time to get naked.

okay okay as much as I love fics where everyone in the Devil's Pack knows about Hans and Henry, personally I think the only two that would actually know and say anything are Zizka and Sam.

Zizka is far too observant, especially when it comes to his men, to not notice the absolutely homosexual behavior those two got going on.

He knows better than to openly say anything/confront either about it though.

The closest he comes is when he catches Henry staring lovingly at Hans from across the tavern and just says "I hope you know what you're doing there" then walks away, leaving Henry sitting there like 😳

Sam, on the other hand, basically canonically knows if you romance Hans (his line when telling Henry to leave him in the Praguers camp changes ever so slightly if you romanced Hans)

Sam is basically incapable of not sharing his opinion at any given time, especially when it comes to Hans, so I think he would kinda tease/bully Henry about it in private.

Not in a homophobic way just in a "falling in love with a man is one thing, but did it have to be Capon?"

He also definitely gave Hans a vague sort of brotherly shovel-talk in the style of

"I don't care that you're a noble. Hurt him and I will skin you like a deer."

Kathrine also definitely knows or suspects but she's not gonna say a goddamn word about it. Very much a "I am simply not getting involved in whatever the fuck that is" mentality

a couple of "what if the whiner hadn't left us " ideas

Here's a short little fic about Henry helping Hans with his injury after Suchdol.

I'm taking prompts from here, this one is "where does it hurt? Let me see."

Hans shifts on the wooden bench outside the Devil's Den, wincing when he turns to grab a tankard of ale. His shoulder burns, his arse is sore from riding and he feels ready to copy Sam. He dozed off a while ago, head lolling to one side, his tankard of ale slowly slipping out of his hand. Kubyenka was quick to snatch it up; Hans held his a little tighter after that.

"Did you still want me to take a look at your shoulder?" Henry is eyeing Hans up with a concerned, analytical gaze.

"That would be kind of you, thank you." He's in no mood to mince his words or put on a show. Everyone is far too in their cups to notice how quickly he stands and follows Henry up the rickety wooden stairs. Once they're finally alone and the door is closed, Henry latches the lock and sets to work on closing windows and lighting candles.

Hans makes himself comfortable on Henry's bed. He kicks off his shoes and watches quietly as Henry moves around with purpose.

"Do you ever slow down?"

He's rummaging through his trunk, pulling out various vials and bandages when he looks up. "I haven't had the chance." If it were anyone else, Hans would accuse them of being bitter about it, but this is Henry. If he's not gathering herbs for locals or smithing horseshoes for strangers, he's throwing himself headfirst into fights that aren't his own. Hans truly can't believe how lucky he is to know Henry.

Once he's found what he was looking for, Henry sets the vials, bandages, and a plump skein of water on a small table and drags a small stool over. He sits between Hans' legs and leans forwards, one hand gently resting on his knee.

"Where does it hurt? Let me see."

"It only hurts when I think about it." Hans says, deft fingers working open the buttons at the bottom of his pourpoint. He winces when he reaches half-way, so Henry brushes his hands out of the way and takes over.

"You'll have to think about something else while I do this, then." Henry carefully removes the pourpoint and begins to unravel the bandages Godwin had tightly wrapped around his torso and shoulder. It's stained with blood and sweat, desperately in need of a change. They hadn't wanted to stop for too long on their ride back to the Devil's Den so Hans had put it out of his mind and washed away the pain with wine. He'll find time for a bath in the morning.

"I missed you." Hans confesses as Henry wets a cloth with water and begins carefully cleaning away the muck and grime. "We were beginning to worry you hadn't made it."

"'Course we made it." Henry looks up at Hans from his place between his knees. "After your encouragement I don't think it was possible for me to fail."

"Henry- ow!" Hans flinches when Henry dabs at the wound with some kind of concoction. It stings, sharp pain radiating from the centre.

"Sorry," Henry tosses the rest of the dirty bandages in a pile and presses a chaste kiss to Hans' collarbone. "I'll make it up to you."

"Oh, you better." Hans says with a smirk. He raises his good arm and gently runs his fingers through Henry's hair.

The future may be uncertain, but for now he has this, and Hans is content.

I helped Rosa Ruthard with finishing her book. The first (foreshadowing) short poem she wrote hit me right in the stomach :

“Unfortunately I don’t know the bride, therefore I can’t congratulate the groom.

And because I know the groom too well, I can’t congratulate the bride either.”
