Caregiver Hans Gruber Headcanons (Die Hard)

Heads up: this movie contains swearing, violence, murder, brief nudity, and drug use. To celebrate the last minute of Christmas, here’s my favorite character from one of my favorite Christmas movies. 😁

He insists that you always dress nicely; even little ones should take pride in their appearance.

He is great at planning ahead and it’s very rare that he’s unprepared. No matter what you need, he’s ready to help.

When you’re upset or sleepy, he speaks quietly to you in German or sings Ode to Joy.

He treats you to all the model sets you want, and helps you build every single one.

He compliments you constantly. “Well, aren’t you a clever little thing? You did that all by yourself? Absolutely exceptional.”

When you are especially small, he’ll explain things very precisely to ensure you understand.

Even when you’re acting out, he is almost always able to keep his cool. He speaks to you very calmly and patiently and reminds you of what the expectations are.

When you’re sent to timeout, he is always very clear about exactly what you did wrong and why you’re being punished.

He brings you along on jobs sometimes, but you have to stay near him, where it’s safe.

The rest of the crew look after you when Hans is busy, and they’re the best babysitters. Theo lets you watch movies Hans doesn’t allow, Uli brings you your favorite candy, Marco plays ALL the chase games, Karl and Tony fight over who gets to carry you… They’re all great.
