Tgamm S1 Ep 17-A ¨The Lucky Penny¨ Episode Analysis

When Molly and Libby learn about the forces of ¨luck¨, Molly asks Scratch if he can transfer her good luck to Libby, little they know that they are playing with some powerful forces...

¨The Lucky Penny¨ isn't an episode where some important character development or exploration takes place, there is some of it, yes, but it is mostly a simple story with good character interactions and well timed comedy.

One thing that it is interesting about this episode is how it introduces the concept of ¨good luck¨ and ¨bad luck¨. Scratch explains how some people are ¨born¨ lucky while others not so lucky. These forces become stronger on Fridays 13th, making someone like Libby, who has bad luck, being extra unlucky for that day.

Because of this, Molly asks Scratch if he can transfer her good luck to Libby. At first Scratch refuses to do this, then he is offered two bags of chips in exchange and the ghost doesn't take time in transfering the luck using a penny, a coin, as a vessel.

The episode from there becomes very ridiculous, with Molly getting hurt because of her temporary bad luck during the song sequence. At some point Libby loses her penny and it lands on Andrea's hangbag without her noticing, this makes Andrea's super luck+ the penny's luck being to suck other people's luck, causing chaos through all the city.

It's funny to see Andrea skipping through the city while her surroundings turning into chaos and her being unaware of that. Or Molly and Scratch trying to get the penny back from Andrea, only for them to fail again and again in a very cartoonish way.

One gold comedy gag in ¨The Lucky Penny¨ is hpw characters with bad luck get hit in the face with plastic bags. There is a fantastic sequence involving Libby walking in the street with the plastic bags looking at her as they were birds, being clearly reference to the film Birds (1963), and then throwing into her, leaving with no chance to escape.

The characterization of the cast is great. Everyone has their own moments that make the story entertaining to watch, such as Andrea happily skipping in the middle of the chaos or Scratch eating super spicy chips while they are following Andrea.

Scratch suggest Libby to use her bad luck to ¨fight against Andrea's extra good luck¨. That follows to an scene Libby tries tricking Andrea into donating money for an important cause, asking for her to give her the penny. Not only the sequence is visually cool, but it is a good moment for both Libby and Andrea: For Libby being able to stay calm with the place turning into a tornado due to the forces of luck clashing and Andrea being charitable, serving as a bit of foreshadowing for her actions in ¨Home is Where the Haunt is¨.

After Libby manages to get the penny back, Scratch doesn't take time in returning the luck back to Molly, thus making things go back to normal. The characters ask themselves is everything has been fixed, only Scratch to explode in a hilarious way two seconds later thanks to the chips and the trio getting hit by plastic bags in the face, making the episode end.

In conclusion: ¨The Lucky Penny¨ is a pretty solid episode that has a little bit of everything: Good comedy, character interactions and a funny premise using supernatural elements from the show. Despite not having an important development for the characters, it is still a very enjoyable episode to watch.

Story time :

A day before Eid Mubarak, my mom and i went shopping at Parkson the night before. She was still shopping at the hangbag section and i told her i will waiting for her at the shoe section because they have like a sofa chair there to sleep.

And then i woke up they were almost closing and i quickly search for her lucky a manager found me and called my mom for me and told me she was searching hours for me and called almost all the security guards 💀

WIWJAJA you gave your mother a heart attack! Helpppp you are wild I love ittt thank god ya woke up it’d be crazy to wake up and see that the store closed!💀💀 also y’all can sleep in the sofas?? lucky!

I remember trying to fall asleep on a sofa when little and this scary lady that dosent even work there comes in and just shoves me off and tells me

Tales of Discovering Hope - Healing

12 year old Kris tugged in the handle of her hangbag that was hanging off on her right shoulder. She could hear soft crying on the other end of the hallway, and when she made a turn, there was a boy near her age crying.

His knees were bent and hugged around his arms, leaning against the wall. Soft cries were heard, even though were muffed by covering his face with his knees.

He didn't notice her walking towards her and when she did, she tried not to startle him. "Are you okay?"

Unfortunately, she did scare him a bit. His head shot up with tears falling from his face. A soft gasp was heard, not too loud. It was then when she got a good look at him.

He had a black eye, with a few bruises on his face, and his nose had a bit of blood, but looked like it stopped bleeding. Before she did anything, she looked at her surroundings to see if anyone was around. When she was done, she approached the boy and crossed her legs near him.

"I-I'm okay." He said as he saw her grabbing her hangbag. "It is nothing serious."

She remained quiet as she pulled out a mini ice bag that was perfect size for one eye. Quietly, she cracked it in order for the pack to get cold. Once she felt that the pack was cold enough, she put her hand in her hangbag again to pull out a small roll of paper towel to wrap the ice bag around once.

"Here." She handed him out the wrapped ice pack. "Put this over your eye, okay?"

Right away, he shook his head. "No." He rubbed his eyes to remove the tears away. "Do not waste your supplies on me."

"It's going keep hurting if that eye is left unchecked." Kris said, concerned on his wellbeing. "You have to keep your head elevated to avoid the swelling."

He was unsure if he should take the ice pack or not, not wanting to get either of them in trouble.

"O-Okay."

He grabbed the ice pack and gently pressed it on his eye. Kris grabbed a paper towel and gently wiped his nose. The boy gasped as a result.

"I-I'm sorry." She said, thinking that she might have hurt him. "Your nose wasn't bleeding anymore, so..." Kris trailed off nervously.

"It is alright. You did not hurt me." He was blushing feverishly because of this action.

"There you are."

Kris's father, Qui-Gon Jinn, walked into view with the two. The look he gave his daughter was stern, but he wasn't upset. "You shouldn't be wondering around like that."

The boy's eyes widen at the man in awe, seeing that he was a Jedi.

"But dad," She protested. "He was hurt."

Qui-Gon's face softened and smiled at Kris. He kneeled down to inspect the boy's injuries. "Are you hurt any where else, son?"

"N-No." He shook his head again. "It's just my face, sir."

"Alright." He didn't ask why he was injured as he didn't want to upset the boy any further. "Do you have a name?"

"My name is Tech."

"Tech." He smiled and stood up. "Come on, now. Let's take you back to your quarters, alright?"

Kris quickly packed her stuff, and stood up. She held her hand out for him to help him up. He slowly raised his arm to reach her hand, allowing Kris to pull him up.

As the three all followed Tech to make sure nothing else happened to him, he turned to Kris and asked, "What is your name?"

"Kris." She said with a warm smile. "It was nice to meet you, Tech."

Tech never really had friends outside Kamino. His brothers are the only ones he interacted with. It wasn't long before they were at the door to his room.

"T-Thank you." He gave back the ice pack, but Kris shook her head. "Keep it."

"Right." He entered his room and before he closed it, he took one final look at Kris, before giving her a small little smile. He turned away and closed the door.

Qui-Gon and Kris both left, but once they were near their ship, Qui-Gon spoke up. "Kris. I'm very proud of you."

"I was only helping, Dad." Kris modestly spoke out, putting her arms behind her back. She felt her hair being ruffled a bit, causing her to look up at Qui-Gon with a smile.

"But that act of kindness will go a long way, Kris. No matter if it's big or small. Remember that."

She would only nod and thought about what her father said as they made their way back to the ship back to Coruscant.
