NWR #28 "Hammurabi: King of Babylon"
Hammurabi: King of Babylon, or just Hammurabi for short, is a Iraqi State Railways PC class pacific, built in 1940 by Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns for Iraqi State Railways. He originally was named Baghdad, but he liked to call himself Hammurabi due to his curiosity and fascination with the ancient world, especially ones like the Assyrians and the Babylonians. He was a hard and respectable worker as well, doing what any job he was given without question, and he didn't worry about his paint getting dirty since he can just clean off after his work is done. When he was withdrawn in the Early 60s, he was purchased by the NWR as a "Reserve Express" locomotive. When he arrived on sodor, he was repainted into a special metallic blue livery with gold lining, as a homage to ancient Assyrian art that were also blue and gold. In 2013, he was promoted from reserve express engine to a full express engine for the Railway's 8 new express trains, where he still works today, pulling express trains across sodor and the mainland. He's also fluent in English, Arabic, Sumerian and Akkadian.
