Throw some jazz hands and bust out the Fosse moves! Pop art visionary Andy Warhol founded Interview magazine in 1969, and the Interview team are commemorating its 55th anniversary this month with multiple cover stars. Yesterday the latest one was announced – Miss Liza freakin’ Minnelli! This feels like a celebratory throwback to Interview’s original 1970s incarnation (78-year-old Minnelli was, of course, a habitué of Warhol’s Factory) and the glittering Halston / Studio 54 era. (It also represents Minnelli’s fourth time gracing Interview’s cover. The first was in 1972). Kudos to veteran photographer Greg Gorman who took the lovingly lit and subtly retouched accompanying portraits of Minnelli, befitting an old-school showbiz diva. Read the article here.
