Very good friend of mine, my adopted Father in law, is in the hospital with pneumonia and COVID. His wife has been told to prepare for the end.

He’s a retired Navy nuclear scientist and submarine officer as well as the Deacon at a local parish. He’s my husband’s mentor.

eight's Aspiration Calculator & Personality Coder For the Sims 1 and the Sims 2

I'm reposting because I made some updates! But the link will stay the same for as long as I can help it. The Wiki Order version is included now and I won't be keeping the old link to it up-to-date.

Feel free to use/copy/edit/share/etc. To use, simply make a copy of the spreadsheet where you are the owner or download it as a file. More info under the cut.

The Aspiration Calculator:

It includes calculations HB's Traits Project, and is designed for the calculations to be customizable because maybe you don't think a non-committal Libra with high outgoing points should be a Romance sim. It's also designed to be used as-is, so you can get right down to it. Its initial settings may be derivative of other calculators but these are the settings I use it on. For the record, there is a built in tie-breaker function that will prioritize them in the original order they're listed.

The Personality Coder:

This one is a little different. It's basically meant to put all of the numbers and traits that make up a Sim's personality into a simple code so you don't have to look them up and then type them by hand every time. I find myself always having to do this and I got tired of it so this is my solution. In my hood tracker there's a field for personality codes, and I'm going to catalogue them for every premade in the future.

Sims2 Hive Mind, Every time, not just in Robin River, since October or so, whenever I bring sims to a community lot, the only other sims to arrive are Mrs. Crumplebottom, the Unsavory Charlaton, and either a Head Witch or a Grand Vampire. The first two arrive every single time, and within moments of my sims arriving. The last two may or may not arrive. NPC workers, like chefs and djs and such, always show up like they’re supposed to. But no townies. No random playables. Just Crmplebottom and Charlaton. I’m getting tired of them. I’ve been searching through CC and mods. Nothing changes with configurations I’ve tried. Today I generated the above error more than once. I’ve put the error logs (four of them), this pic, and today’s HCDU log in my box here. If any of you understand what it says, I’d gladly appreciate the help. Love, Elfie, whose brain is not currently up for understanding such things.

Halp an Elf?

Alrighty, Sims2 Hive Mind, I don’t use the familyfunds cheat in my normal game. I have mortgage shrubs and they work fine. But that isn’t going to be the case in Robin River. Okay, I can type familyfunds. No worries. EXCEPT: There are multiple households with the same family name in Robin River. RoS demands that I adjust one of them, and every time I do, it changes the wrong household. My SimPE is being super flaky and not loading, and I’m not sure I know how to do it from there even if it loaded. @katatty, @charmandersims, @grimbunnies, did you manage this? Does anyone have any thoughts? Halp an Elf?

Recoloring help?

Either I'm a complete moron, which is entirely possible, or I'm missing something.

Or, I'm forgetting something. It's been a while.

I'm trying to recolor the OFB and KB towels (towel on a wooden rod, on a metal ring, on a wooden ring, and on a metal rod) and the "Thirsty the Bathmat". I have recolors of them, so I know it can be done.

Yet making a recolor package creates a thing with no resources. Therefore, they're all slaved to something(s), yes?

What are they slaved to? What am I doing wrong?

I KNOW that I’ve seen a mod that fixes the naming popup for spectral cats, making it easier to see if the cat is male or female. I’m pretty sure that I’ve even reblogged it. I can’t find it in my downloads, so I don’t think I have. More than likely, I found it and reblogged it in the hopes of remembering to snag it later. (I do that a lot.) I’ve reached my limit at sitting at the computer, and I can’t find it. Does anyone know where it is?

Help an Elf?

Does anyone know where I can find/ have to share with me the patterened recolors noted above? The pic is from @whattheskell‘s Advent gift here. The address linked to (early-christmas...) brings me to Nyren’s defunct Tumblr. I’ve googled, but my google-fu has failed me. Any thoughts?

I have this extension in my Firefox, and updated. Yet I still get Photobucket Blur. Any thoughts?

Photobucket’s Blur+Watermark Fix (FOR CHROME)

with Photobucket’s new terms of service in place, it has basically rendered all old cc previews useless. however, I went and did some searching and I found a solution right off the bat!

I only use Google Chrome as a browser, so I have no idea if there’s a solution for Firefox or Safari.

Anyone know of a good psd for the maxis expensive toilet? I’d like to recolor the seat, bowl, and tank separate colors, and I hate trial and error recoloring.

Okay. Now I need to know the secret. How? They? Glow?

How do I edit my supernatural eyes (which are, admittedly, a partially transparent overlay) to glow?

@gryning released THESE and I thought, hmm, that I’d be cool for vampires…and then @freezerbunny-sims posted THIS. And I was like, let’s see what I can do.

I extracted the blue vamp eyes from TS4 and slapped them on and it’s…a little unnerving, but really cool.

Edit: I knew someone already converted the eyes.  Skell made them contacts HERE.  So @whattheskell…I don’t want to step on any toes if you were planning to edit them to glow?

Speaking of streamlined formulas...I'm trying to "translate" this to excel, because that's what I work best with (and can do offline, etc.). In reading the formulae in the Aspiration tab, am I reading it correctly that it's index&matching from C17 down instead of C16? Or is that a Google Sheet thing that I've forgotten since the last time I translated from one to the other?

Thank you, @mystic-hysteria !! The correct house has gained 200 simoleons and then lost 11% of their cash (except for the 4 simoleons extra they kept because of fiddly sliders). I'm thrilled, thank you!!!
