Review:
The French Photographer is an enthralling story of war, photography, history, and passion. Natasha's Lester's writing transported me to the high life of France, and the darkness of war. The French Photographer is told through two characters timelines; Jessica May in 1942 and D'Arcy Hallworth in 2005.
Jessica May was a fun, kind, intelligent and passionate character. I enjoyed reading her story and seeing how much her character grew through the experiences she went through. I would have liked to have read more about D'Arcy's story, but I did really like her character, and it was interesting seeing the differences and similarities between 1942 and 2005. The French Photographer was heartbreaking at times; it really demonstrated the power of hope and love.
Overall, The French Photographer is a captivating historical fiction story. If you love historical fiction definitely pick up a copy!
Thank you to Hachette Australia for letting me be part of The French Photographer blog tour, and for sending me a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
