Hades + Empathy

He is part of the Greek pantheon and has immense power and the ability to wipe out civilization. But he is also scorned by his ‘family’. Consider

~When Percy first goes to the Underworld for his mother, he accidentally lets slip that Gabe is an abusive piece of shit. Hades overhears and without prompt, when Gabe arrives, he is immediately sent to Tartarus with Nyx because he is also a victim of emotional abuse and doesn’t want anyone to go through that, even in Punishment.

~Hades noticing Annabeth during the Solstice meetings and seeing that she’s kind of upset and going to talk to her, and them relating over shitty families.

~Hades subtly helping Grover in his search for Pan because he knows what it feel likes to disappoint your family.

~Hades intentionally holding on to Thalia’s Thread when she’s at camp and lets Zeus turn her into a tree because he knows what it feels like to try your best and and fall down at the end and gives her another chance.

~Hades loving Nico and Bianca as much as can, and damn the ancient rules, they’re his kids and he will spend their birthdays with them at the park and watch movies because he wants them to be loved by someone from their family.

~Hades breaking down and the Underworld going wild when Bianca dies and holds Nico close and they cry together.

~Hades meeting Rachel and the their first meeting going kind of awkward because of the whole oracle-being-cursed thing but then Rachel offhandedly says she can stay at camp, Dad won’t even notice and Hades, Annabeth and Rachel staying up all night at the Garden in the Underworld sharing stories about the times they’ve been forgotten and Persephone occasionally chiming in about how controlling Demeter can be and it’s a heavy topic but they all feel more at home then anywhere else. 

~Hades showing up to Luke and Luke tells him that he should join their side because what have the gods ever done for him and this is his chance for revenge and Hades hesitates but thinks back to all those kids fighting for their family, his own son fighting for him, all those kids suffering from their own thoughts and their own parents but still holding on and fighting because they’re still my home and he looks Luke in the eye and tell him no.

~Hades going to the fight against Luke Kronos and helping his son and his friends against him because even though the gods could fade for all he cares, but he’ll be damned if he let these kids get hurt anymore.

~Luke gets to Elysium. He would’ve been there anyways.

~The demigods remembering all the little things Hades has done for them which helped them become who they are and going down there to thank him sincerely and Hades becoming so soft, Thanatos starts to question his title as God of Terrors and all that but then someone on the street catcalls Rachel and he is sent to the Field of Punishment in an instant and Thanatos is lowkey impressed and also teases him for being so soft.

~Hades doesn’t say anything when Persephone offhandedly says something about the demigods being his family more than the gods and she notices once again how caring he is and falls in love with him all over again.

Extra:

~Hades and all the demigods have scheduled bi-weekly meetings for ice cream and movies and all the other gods and high key jealous of him.

Married to Hades Acheron (Board member/owner of hellhounds?!). (Find out more about this relationship.)

Town native. (Apparently had a crazy father who disappeared? Suspicious.)

Pregnant. (Based on Instagram, she’s roughly 20 weeks.) (Used to have brown hair? Dyes hair same as her husband?)

Studying law at the University. (Pregnant and going to school? Why? She should be at home.)

Simba Lyons

Lyons family founded Swynlake in 1016, in cahoots with King Arthur and Merlin. (Sidenote: I cannot believe Merlin was a real person.) He’s on the Board now.

Father killed by his own brother. (How Shakespearean.) 

Dating Berlioz Bonfamille, son of Hector Bonfamille and Adelaide Bonfamille (!). Father on French version of the Senate (? Fact check.)

Recently stepped down from InterPride. (Why?) Turned it into a nonprofit, which is nice, I guess.

Gay???? He so does not seem gay, I saw him playing soccer the other day! This town is so backwards.

Toulouse Bonfamille

Brother of Berlioz Bonfamille. So...connected to Simba Lyons?

Has a decent Instagram following: figure out how to get him how to follow me back.

Saw him walking in Town Hall with Hades. They seemed friendly. (Figure out if this is true.)

Fairy Godmother told me he disappeared a few months ago. Shady. No one in town seems to know why. Social media account activity confirms there was no activity for roughly 6 weeks.

Seems to be an artist? (Ask if he does commissions!!! Good way to follow up on some leads.) 

Bambi Basurto

So, there is the Great Prince. Seriously?! That is his name.

Apparently, this kid is his son. Everyone says so, but I’ve never seen them together, though I have see his dad(?) coming in and out of Town Hall.

They both kind of look homeless. Do they live in the woods?

Father is nice, but I still can’t get over the fact he don’t have a real name!

Bambi seems normal, friends with girl who set fire to prom (who is the ward of Simba Lyons? Juicy.) What is up with this town?!

Maui

Calls himself a “demigod” (blasphemous?!)

After a quick google search, this is apparently some backwards Native tradition, giving a random person powers!

He is really hot, however.

Apparently a person of interest. Has over 60k followers on Instagram? That is so not fair.

Person who found Peach’s body. Friends(?) with Penny? Definitely someone to keep tabs on.

Attina Triton

This bitch. 

Father is on the Board, looking to get reelected. (I doubt it. His daughters are out of control. One got in a drunk driving accident?? Another one dropped out of secondary?? This is what happens when there isn’t a strong mother figure around.)

Convicted misdemeanant. CURSED someone. This town is fucking insane, they’re just letting her walk around!!

Saw her with a cute guy, though. I can’t believe anyone would date her after being convicted of a crime!!

Despite this, her one sister has a dope make-up line, so check that out.

Hercules Persaud

This guy has super strength? STAY AWAY. Apparently he can’t control it.

Dropped a chandelier on someone?? Why hasn’t he been arrested??

Also, destroyed someone’s shoppe??

Seriously why is this guy not behind reinforced steel bars?

Akela Seeonee

Friends with the woman who lives at Edelweiss, which is weird, because she is stunning and he looks like he doesn’t bathe.

Also, can barely understand him. I picked up food from Chippamunka the other day and had to ask him to repeat himself 3 times! 

Kind of shady. I don’t know what it is about him, but something gives me the heebie jeebies.

Should probably let Ms. Grimhilde know. (Figure out how to do this without bein’ called a racist. I don’t care if he’s from the Middle East! He looks soooo shady.)

Phoebus de Martin

So. Hot. Oooh my god. Like, so so hot. Arrest me officer!

Pretty sure he has the hots for Duchess, though. Which--fair. I totally get that, she’s gorgeous.

Super sweet too! He drove me home after the whole hellhound debacle and, ugh, swoon. 

Held the door open for me?! First person in town to do that, just so I can remember that.

A good cop too. He helped Duchess put away someone who burned down her shop (OMG I remember reading about that in the news!!) 

Artemis Delphos

HOLY MOLEY!! GORGEOUS!! SUPERMODEL!! IM SO JEALOUS!! UGH. I hate her. Her body is like perfect. 

Apollo’s twin sister? That family is too gosh darn gorgeous. 

Though, she’s also...really weird. Like really weird. They’ve got this talkin’ wolf. (Which ??????) And she says she talks to ghosts but I think she’s just got a few screws loose.

Makes sense because Apollo is the same way. Their parents named them Artemis and Apollo. That’s like naming your kids Cain and Abel! You just don’t do that.

I’m pretty sure I saw her kiss Apollo when she said goodbye to him the other day?? What is this West Virginia?!
