Wrestling With Sin: 474
Wrestling With Sin: 474 featuring Lo Ki, Thunderbolt Patterson and much more...
Brian Damage This is the 474th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching…

Hade Vansen: “I shall be your vessel.” [December 12th, 2008]
There have been a multitude of professional wrestlers who were on queue to have a feud with The Undertaker, but perhaps none were axed as quickly as Hade Vansen. Despite this cool promo and the very unique name, Hade Vansen’s debut promo aired on SmackDown in December of 2008, and within a month, Vansen was released by the WWE after spending two years in developmental.
What’s odd about Vansen is the story of his signing with the WWE. Vansen was signed at the same time as Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, and Wade Barrett, but not by a McMahon, Triple H, or John Laurinaitis, but rather by a WWE writer at the time, Freddie Prinze Jr., who had big ideas which he considered Vansen to be perfect for. Essentially, Vansen’s character would be very similar to Bray Wyatt, as Vansen would focus on “taking over” and would debut with other wrestlers from developmental who were “under his control”. The culmination of Vansen’s focus would take place at WrestleMania 25, where he would face off against The Undertaker.
While this seems a bit odd (and, of course it does) for a debuting superstar to immediately get skyrocketed to superstardom in such a grandesque way, when Prinze Jr. pitched the idea to Stephanie McMahon, she loved it. The idea was greenlighted, the promo aired, but shortly afterward when Vince McMahon looked at the 5′11″ Vansen, the idea was immediately nixed and Vansen was released from his WWE contract. Shortly after, he retired from professional wrestling, moved to Los Angeles, and went into acting under the name Hadrian Howard. The Undertaker, however, faced Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25 in a match that people thought was a little better than okay. ;)

For those who do not remember this fellow, I can't say I blame you. This is Hade Vansen. Have a little insight, he's an English wrestler who was trained by FWA, Alex Shane and Dino Scarlo. He faced Zebra Kid, Jonny Storm, Robbie Brookeside and Joe Legend (Known to WWF fans as Just Joe, a man who jobbed to The Brooklyn Brawler).
In 2007, Vansen signed on with WWE joining FCW. In December, 2008, vignettes would start for Vansen with a gimmick similar to Christopher Daniels "Fallen Angel". But within two weeks, this was stopped. And in January 2009, he was released from his contract. Apparently he was meant to enter a feud with The Undertaker.

I would have loved to see where this was going. Rumor was he was going to have a group including Kevin Thorn.

Top Five Short Lived WWF/WWE Careers that Could Have Been Better
Top Five Short Lived WWF/WWE Careers that Could Have Been Better
Brian Damage Not every wrestler becomes a main event star in the business. There are some that quite simply become nothing more than mid card attractions and that is perfectly fine. Pro wrestling needs low to mid card talent just as much as they need the superstars. With that said, some never really had the proper opportunities to “make it big” or falter due to lack of TV time or some other…
