So the last date brought up some mixed feelings. I feel like things moved too quickly between the MC and Hunt. Does anyone else feel that way? I kind of wish they'd given the relationship more time to grow.

Honeymoon is kind of just thoughts right now, I did start writing it but I'm not super pleased with how the first draft went so I'm gonna start another draft hopefully soon. but.

As the name implies, it'll be about Thomas and Avalon's honeymoon. Avalon plans it, and the whole thing is a surprise to Thomas. The first two days are a hike up to a special campsite Avalon found. I have this headcanon that while Thomas doesn't mind the outdoors, he's not very interested in hiking/camping, so he's definitely just Putting Up With It for his mountain(of a)man husband who loves camping. The "special campsite" Avalon found is a beautiful lakeside cabin, similar to one Thomas used to own (I headcanon that he's Canadian and he used to have a little cabin on the Okanagan Lake back when there weren't that many cabins on the lake. RCD Hunt has sold it, but HWU Hunt still has it)

It's specifically for prompt 2, and I will be doing a separate fic for prompts 1 and 9, bc it's already longer than I intended and I feel like prompts 1 and 9 fit hand and hand. also for a specific plot reason.

It's about Thomas and Avalon realizing that actually, no, HRT does not work as a contraceptive for trans men despite what the doctor that prescribed his HRT to him said (he started his transition after graduating high school, in the 90s, so medical misinformation regarding trans men was kind of to be expected)

I've gotta admit, writing this one has made me realize that while I do really like Thomas and Avalon as dads, I don't think it really fits for my RCD story. Partially because of specific things happening which would make them both feel like yeah, maybe we shouldn't be parents, but also because that standard, heteronormative American Dream 2.5 Kids just in general doesn't feel right for them. So them having kids will be a noncanon (to my writing) AU. I'm wayyy too attached to Teddy and Chanterelle to just... not write them at all

as for the other ones I'm excited about, I'm gonna try to keep this short and sweet:

It Won’t Get Better (But It Won’t Get Worse) is my RCD But Avalon Is A Character In It rewrite fic. Avalon and Thomas are exes who come back into each other's lives to work on The Last Duchess. It's worth noting that 1) Avalon does not take the place of the RCD MC, she is still her own person, and 2) the topics that RCD 2 tried to cover (and similar topics-i.e. fatphobia in Hollywood) will be plot-relevant. I think trying to rewrite RCD while glossing over those topics the same way that PB did would just be... wrong. However, my intentions with this fic will be to focus on the recovery and the things that Montmarte does will happen off screen. They will be talked about between characters, but they won't be described in depth. I will tag and warn accordingly for every chapter. Despite what the title and what I've said here may imply, it won't be grimdark with no happy ending. Things will get better.

aaaaaaaand Blister In The Sun is a rewrite of Austin's route, except my mc, Harvy, falls in love with Bennie the second the meet each other. It's shitty people being absolutely terrible at being in love with each other, plus also correcting Ludia's decision to try and make Bennie be both some genius criminal mastermind and the dumbest man alive at the same time (spoiler alert: It was the cops behind it all!)

Taliesane looked up from the mess that was the Commander's arm, "Ex...excuse me?" He tried to keep his face within Pukh's line of sight, knowing that the chances of him actually hearing the words weren't great for the time being. A hearing aid of some variety was already being put together ("primitive, already six months out of date," Taimi had complained,) but it would still take a day or so to fit it and make the necessary adjustments. The arm couldn't wait that long. While they'd been able to keep him mostly stable, an inevitability was that the limb wasn't salvageable and would need to be removed. Much to Aithne's surprise, and less to Tali's, there had been no tears, no upset, no bargaining, merely a resigned grimace and acceptance of the terms. This, though, had surprised the druid. "You're going to what now?"

Pukh's toothy grin belied the intoxication from the painkillers, "We'rrrr gonn match, me n Treeeeern." The remaining functional arm weakly lifted and made something resembling a pointing gesture at the mangled mess on the opposite side, "Diffren arms thooooo but MATCHIN'." The volume was muted by the medication, he was sure, because he was certainly louder than expected for being so heavily sedated. Probably the lack of being able to hear himself, Tali mused, continuing to monitor the medical bot's progress on the limb. The enthusiasm, optimism even, about this was jarring enough to pull him out of the fog of shock, if only for the moment. Pukh had probably come out the most emotionally unscathed if he stopped to think about it. Almost ironic, considering the soon-to-be-missing limb.

The druid gave an almost-disappointed stare, his lips pursed in mild annoyance, "You know, for a brief while, I was even worried about who would have to break the news about this to Trahearne, I really was." Pukh's goofy grin continued unabated, but the half-lidded and drowsy eyes remained keenly locked on Tali's mouth, the scarred ear twitching in his direction, clearly trying to keep up with whatever he was saying, "I think now that I'll just let you tell him yourself, since you seem so unphased." In reality, news would likely make it back to the firstborn far before either of them found a moment to try and reach him, but the idea of Pukh proudly crowing about “only” losing a "single limb" to Kralkatorrik and Trahearne's impending meltdown over it were almost comical in comparison to the rest of the things going on.

Pukh's grin faded to a quiet smirk as the sedatives continued to kick in, "Ll tell himmm don' worry." His eyes followed Taliesane's, looking again at his arm as the incisions began, wincing and averting his eyes momentarily before looking back, the curiosity about how the bot would handle the amputation overtaking any squeamishness. "H'wss Ofari?" a nigh-whispered question came, "Hwus Thnee?" Pukh's eyes drooped even more, and it surprised him that he'd even managed to stay conscious as long as he had, considering how high a dose they'd administered. He rubbed his forehead, almost reluctant to answer, digging his fingertips against his temples as he pondered how to respond.

That was indeed a difficult question, and while it was tempting to feign ignorance, he knew the answer. Rather than tell him, though, he found himself only sighing, giving a weary tousle of Pukh's hair, a sorrowful stare. There was a large chunk of the fight that seemed absent from the Commander's memory, and he prayed that their reactions to the aftermath lay among them. Tali found himself biding his time, watching as the drooping eyes fell further, watched him slip off into a deep, hopefully dreamless sleep as the procedure continued. Pukh's last muttered questions before going under were inaudible, much to his relief. He wasn't sure he could have handled answering more than he already had. Slumping back into a chair, he did all he could manage at that point, and observed the bot as requested. He closed his eyes, if only for a moment, before hearing footsteps shuffle into the makeshift medbay, a sarcastic hum, a quiet scoff.

"Oh look, great, now they're going to match."

TF MC: I have to find a way to keep my scholarship. I'm losing my friends. My whole life is falling apart. I'm too young for this shit. TS MC: I have a book deal and a bright future. My friends look weird. I've got 99 problems and none of them are mine. I love the romantic genre but there has to be an actual issue: keeping a job, losing friends, lies, betrayal, corruption. "I'm filthy rich. I got closure and I married an unrealistically perfect guy" does not sound like an interesting story.

I’m assuming this is bashing on RoE too? Haha, yeah it’s just… RoE could have easily been a really good book. It suffers what the latter half of HWU suffered from… drama for the sake of drama, ignoring or cutting interesting storylines or characters for the sake of promoting drama centering around a smaller group of characters. Just… constantly. Drama, drama, drama with the only OTHER content being diamond A-listers or comeback quests. Maybe the FB fandom wanted more drama. IDK.

Like in HWU, one example, SPOILERS AHEAD. Aria was really affected by her father being revealed as part of the Silver Circle and arrested. A lot of self-destructive behaviors. NEVER TOUCHED ON until the final chapters. I think most people forgot about it. She only confronted him in the last two chapters when PB was cleaning up all the loose ends to end HWU. Another example. Marco, who was introduced as a cool new and interesting character, gets dropped to a cameo role almost immediately after his introduction in favor of drama with Desiree. Hunt, who was super interesting. Almost like the Vasquez of TFM, just was reduced to the always strict all the time professor most of the fandom was swooning over.

Now with Roe. They cut the cooking trio in book 3 to a cameo role, any significant development with their relationship being through diamonds. Maybe because the facebook fandom didn’t like them or maybe because they did and wanted more NSFW scene stuff. IDK, but they were the strongest part of the story and shouldn’t have been cut. But the avoid all the good stuff, all the character development and actually getting to now/fall in love with you LI for constant drama. I mean, cool, keep drama. ES has A LOT of drama too, but make it believable. Who on EARTH would sign a document from their cheating, sneaky ex-fiance that was written in a different language they know their ex-fiance doesn’t know when their friend who DOES know the language could translate for them. That’s what A LOT of RoE. They force the drama. That’s one point. The second point is the VERY bad views on love and marriage. I know it’s all fiction, but fiction can have an impact on people. Especially younger people. That’s why you want diversity in all aspects of a character. People look up to characters they read about so you need to be careful on the topics you cover and the topics about love in RoE are really bad imo.
