what exactly is the world like in the mcu fic? like how exactly does mcu and scp mash together in the fic?

I KINDA READ THIS WRONG BUT I CAN’T CHANGE IT NOW SO SCROLL DOWN TO THE END FOR TL;DR.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was created during WW2 to take down H.Y.D.R.A., which was this fucked up cult dedicated to a weird shapeshifter alien that evolved into a fucked up secret organization that was kinda like an eviler GOC.

They didn’t actually take them down, but they did a good number on them and they went underground for a very long time. They didn’t know this though.

They’re kinda similar to the UIU in that to the rest of the anomalous world they’re considered small fries, and don’t know most of the world even exists*.

Now, in 2014** the SCP Foundation was very close to having a broken masquerade scenario (for reasons I’ve decided not to disclose), and to prevent that, the Foundation had to break apart. This meant whole sites destroyed, SCPs released or moved***, and staff let go.****

With the Foundation mostly out of the game, the anomalous world kinda.. became quiet. It wasn’t the same without them, and even if they weren’t that liked, you had to acknowledge the work they did.

There was also a strange influx of people being recruited into GOIs, but they were totally not spies at alllll hahahaah.

Okay so the Foundation got fucked up before S.H.I.E.L.D ever learned about them

S.H.I.E.L.D and the Foundation don’t really ever meet

*They were aware of a couple GOIs, but were otherwise clueless. For fuck’s sake, they didn’t even know about the Serpent’s Hand or Wondertainment. The ones they did know wanted to be known.

**I want this to take place before the H.Y.D.R.A. reveal, and maybe 2018, so the timeline’s fucked up right now.

***While some actually were released, most were given to leaving employees, like 408 and the more anomalous Kondrakis.

****You don’t ever leave the Foundation, not really. Most just didn’t have a site to go back to, and were forced to find new jobs while waiting to work with them again.

TL;D FUCKING R: S.H.I.E.L.D and the Foundation never got a chance to really interact with each other, and so it’s kinda just like. The normal MCU universe honestly.
