âThatâs it baby, cry harderâ
As if you had much of a choice. Joel had you here for 2 days by this point, and the man was fucking insatiable. He had explained to you, not that you asked, that he goes in and out of âshiftsâ, essentially. For a few weeks, he raids and stocks up on all he needs. Then, if heâs got somewhere decent to stay, heâll take a pretty girl for a week or so and just go insane on sex, food, and any drugs or booze he could get. You were well fed at least, and sometimes Joel let you take a few hits of weed or sips of alcohol to numb you, but other than that he wasnât giving many mercies.
It had been hours at this point, no refractory period except sometimes to go have a smoke, but 5 minutes later he came back hard and thrusting into your swollen lips.
You were exhausted, spread out naked on your back as Joel knelt before you, thrusting. You just wanted it to be over, sobbing into the pillow you pulled over your face.
âAwwww, little babies embarrassed? Wassamatter, little baby, donât want me to hear you moaning again?â Joel taunted you with a laugh. He liked laughing at you. He did make you moan, that was the embarrassing part. Joel wasnât necessarily trying to make you cum, but he did get giddy and gleeful when the stretch of his cock was enough to make you orgasm.
You werenât entirely sure thatâs what was happening right now, but something was off. âJoelâŚâ You whine into your pillow. âMy stomach hurtsâŚâ
âWhy -thrust- the fuck -thrust- do I care?â
âIt feels funnyâŚâ You hoped maybe heâd stop if you were sick. Not that he cared about your well being, but rather he wouldnât want you getting sick all over him. Or maybe he was into that.Â
âJust shut the fuck up and -mmmph- just fuckân take it. Always fuckân whining like you got a hard job.â Joel smacked a tit, making you whimper and clench down.
Then you realized what the feeling was. âJoel, I gotta- MPH!â
Joel shoved the pillow into your face. âTired of your fucking voice. âJoel I need this, Joel I need that!ââ He mocked you in a high pitched voice. âJust shut the fuck up before I smoother you and use your cold pussy instead. Bet the rigor would tightân you up a bit.â
Fresh tears wet your pillow as you wriggle, trying to keep quiet. You needed to pee. Or maybe you were going to cum. Joel had gotten you pretty drunk this time and his dick jamming into your cervix made everything a little hazy, but you needed to pee, and you needed to pee BAD. Still, the struggle to breath was the first concern. It wasn't cutting off all your hair, but it was getting difficult.
You tried to warn him, but Joel simply kept the pillow over your mouth and he filled you up again and again, thick cock stretching you so far you werenât sure how you were supposed to be any tighter, but men were never satisfied. The pressure continued to build and suddenly you were very confused; was this an orgasm, pee, or both?
Joel was growing erratic above you, and you wondered if he got off, if this would be it for today. You tried to hold it back, never wanting Joel to have the satisfaction, but the combination of the feeling and Joel in your stomach were too much. Unconsciously, you let go.
Joel stops, not pulling back enough to pull out but enough to see you and you release the warm liquid onto him as you cum. âOh shitâ He chuckles. âDid you squirt?â You remove the pillow the your face to catch him looking at your sore cunt as the liquid isnât stopping and he realizes what was happening. âOhhhh fuck!â He says gleefully, thrusting into you with renewed vigor.
âThatâs it baby, piss on my cock, ooooooh yes, fuck yes, pee on daddyâs fuckân cock, mmmmm god, gonna- fuuuuck, gonna cum, gonna cum in daddyâs little piss baby.â
You cover your face with your arms as you cry, sensitive as all hell from cumming hard as you relieve yourself, humiliated but knowing heâs close. Just gotta power through.
Huffing, Joel pressed his hand down on your lower stomach, pushing out more pee as you yelped.
âGoooood DAYUM!â Joel shouts loud in your ear as he cums inside you, filling your tired pussy with his cum.
Joel falls on top of you, laughing, his heavy weight nearly as suffocating as the pillow was. A light chuckle turned louder as he laughed harder and pulled away. As Joel pulled his cock out of your soaked folds, he was all but cackling, derangement in his eyes as he looked at the disaster that was the shitty bed you slept on.
âSuch a messy girlâŚâ He eyed your cunt, and you whimper. Joel didnât go down on you. This was for him to get his dick wet, nothing elseâŚ
But soon, his mouth was between your legs, lapping at the mix of cum and piss and sweat between you two, his beard a rubbing irritant against your puffy skin. âSuch a pathetic little girlâ He muttered between breaths, rutting himself against the bed, and you knew he was hard again. âFuckân weird, canât even keep from making a mess of yourselfâ He growls, licking you clean. âFuckân- ohmygod- fucking disgusting little piss Wh-who-oooooremmmm.â Joel came against the bed, just as you were about to come again, and pulled away.
You canât help the way your body wriggles as the âNoooâ You whine, ever so quiet. You hated how much he made you want him sometimes.Â
Joel giggles, awfully pleased with himself. âNah, baby, Iâm done with you for now. Maybe next time youâll learn to appreciate when I give you this cock.âÂ
Butt naked, Joel exited the room, telling you to clean yourself up. âYou smell.â

When talking about the French Père NoÍl, one has to evoke a variation of his that is NOT Saint Nicolas. I already evoked several times the various names of the Christmas gift-giver (Père NoÍl, Bonhomme NoÍl) and how he was tied to the gift-giver of the beginning of December (Saint Nicolas). But there was also a gift-giver at the end of the year... A gift giver of New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. Remember when I talked before of "Père Etrennes" or "Bonhomme Etrennes"? The "Êtrennes" are a French tradition whose closer English equivalent would be the word "handsel/hansel".
The ĂŠtrennes were originally gifts that were given to friends, family and other next of kind at the beginning of January to celebrate New Year. Today the tradition has massively evolved - ĂŠtrennes are given at the end of December rather than early January, it is money rather than gifts, and they are now a gesture of kindness destined to those employed by you or that work for the community (the fireman, the mailman, the housekeeper, the garbage collector...). But despite this evolution, "ĂŠtrennes" stayed associated with an appreciative and kind giving gesture around New Year. And where there's gifts, there's a gift-giver...
This website presents us with this picture, a 1930s postcard, and says it could be the Père Fouettard... or the Père Janvier (Father January).
In the French region of Bourgogne, there was no "Père NoÍl" or Father Christmas in the early 20th century: rather there was Father January, Père Janvier, who came around New Year to give the Êtrennes - the gifts. By the 1930s the tradition was still very strong, especially in the Morvan and the Nivernais - as well as in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais (Father January had moved to the North of France when in the mid 19th century a lot of people from the Morvan went to work in the mines there). And from the 1930s to the 1960s, in all those areas, there was a transition from Père Janvier to Père NoÍl, resulting in the children of those three decades to have the benefit of two mysterious supernatural benefactors coming at the end of the year... Before Père Janvier stopped coming by the 60s, definitively replaced by Père NoÍl (the Americanized one of course, remember post-50s Père NoÍl is just Santa Claus with a different name).
This other website goes into more details about the world of Père Janvier - or rather of Bonhomme Janvier (Old Man January/The January Man).
Le Père Janvier, or Bonhomme Janvier, existed for a very long time in the tradition of the Berry region, before the Père NoÍl was even introduced. Not just in the Berry, but also in the Morvan and in all of Bourgogne - and even in many others areas of France! Lyon knew of him, the Haute Marne, Saône-et-Loire, Ardèche - they all had records of Father January, this white-bearded old man that brought gifts to children on the 1st of January. In the Berry region, the Père Janvier usually left sweets inside in their slippers for New Years Day, and on New Years Eve chimneys were carefully cleaned up so he could enter the house unsoiled.
And just like Saint Nicolas or Père NoÍl, Bonhomme Janvier ALSO was followed by Père Fouettard, with his wicker basket filled with "martinets" (beating/whipping tools for naughty children):
While sometimes Bonhomme Janvier brought many toys or sweets (found in the children's shoes or "sabots" placed by the chimney), there was one tradition according to which Janvier only ever brought one item per person, not more - with sometimes a sweet or candy to accompany it (often it was a pipe made of sugar). Tradition claimed it was because Père Janvier hated greedy or gluttonous children - but more realistically, it was probably just a tale invented by poor families to justify the lack of gifts...
And of course, as Père NoÍl arrived in the 20th century, Bonhomme Janvier slowly faded away...

đŞśOctober/November Housekeeping
Hello to my lovely flock!
First of all, I'd love to thank everyone for supporting me thus far. We're almost exactly 10 months out from the first post on this blog. It's my first time serializing a comic, and I've definitely learned a lot, and struggled a lot, too. No doubt I've been deeply unprofessional through much of it due to my inexperience. I'd really like to keep my supporters more in the loop about what I'm working on, so I've decided to write monthly housekeeping posts to update everyone about the roadmap of what I'm planning to do. This time I'm combining the October and November notes, since we're already so close to the end of October.
Updates on CHORUS serialization
At the time of writing, I've just posted the last page of ACT 2 for Ko-Fi supporters. There will be a weeklong break before ACT 3 starts serializing on November 5th, 2024. For our regular readers, ACT 2's final page will be posted on November 1st, and ACT 3 will begin on November 12th after a similar weeklong break.
Additionally, I've been quite sloppy about keeping links between posts updated, and I've concluded that it's because I can't link posts which are still in queue. Starting with ACT 3, I will continue to update the comic on Tuesdays and Fridays, but the timing will be "whenever I get a chance to update it during that day in my time zone", instead of queuing it for a specific time. This way, I can immediately update all links to the post. I will also be self-reblogging new pages more frequently.
Ko-Fi Membership Updates
I've been sporadically updating the Tenor tier with character design and other miscellaneous scans, but I've only worked through about half of my backlog. It takes a bit of time to edit and annotate the images, and I hope to get the rest of this batch uploaded before the end of November. Additionally, there's a rejected ACT 3 title page that I also plan on finishing and posting to the Tenor tier. However, considering my workload elsewhere (trying to finish the Christmas Kaishin bundle, zines, etc.), I find it unlikely to complete this before November. December is certainly a more conservative estimate.
Closing Notes
There are a great many other things that are floating around in my brain (switching from digital to traditional illustration in ACT 4, possible hiatus after ACT 4, new Soprano tier with merch rewards after hiatus), but these are all so far away it and up in the air that I feel it's more appropriate to announce those later down along the line, so I'll be calling this post here.
Once again, thank you all so much for the support, and I hope you'll stay with me on this journey.
Love, Soh Arsquare Oct. 25, 2024

It's November! Already! Time sure flies. As we head into the holidays, remember to be sure to carve out some personal time for your own peace of mind.
Housekeeping
Current Month in TOA:Â Garland Moon
The Black Eagles mission board - Distress - begins this month and runs through the end of December. Check out the new tasks [here], but donât forget that your muse must pair up with a Black Eagles student or affiliated faculty for the mission tasks!
Stay tuned for an OOC event announcement landing on the 8th!
For the time being, based on results from October's feedback, we'll be keeping the Speed skill as is. Thank you for your thoughts!
Concerning Feedback
Please donât forget to leave feedback on our [feedback poll] for this month! But first, please read below.
We are grateful that we have such a vocal community, and we believe that this is what has made TOA into what it is today. However, over the past year or so, the mod team has seen a dramatic increase in hostile and accusatory feedback. Most of this feedback is based on hearsay, misinformation, and bad faith assumptions that we have no manner of addressing because the individuals who leave this feedback would rather remain anonymous. This, in turn, feeds a cycle of resentment and further hostility.
It has been the mod team's policy over the last five years to resolve issues as discreetly as possible, so most of what we do stays private. Lately, this has created a breeding ground for bad faith assumptions about what we are and are not doing. While we prefer to handle issues in the background, we are not secretive. We will very rarely turn away a person who comes to us privately seeking information or an explanation.
All of us on the mod team are at our wits' end. We are not going to publicize every disciplinary action we take, but without a way to contact these individuals to correct misinformation, our hands are tied. If you don't believe that we're doing something about an issue, then please come to us directly so that we can explain to you what we've done to fix it. If you leave anonymous feedback without a point of contact, then we have no way of telling you what steps we'll take to resolve your issue, nor can we gather additional information from you to allow us to act. Who is it helping if you instead choose to complain to your friends about how the mods aren't doing anything? We can't read your mind.
The mod team values open communication, and conversations must be two-way in order for us to properly do our jobs. Anonymous feedback about serious issues regarding other members has rarely been helpful to us. If we continue to receive these hostile submissions made in bad faith, we will have no choice but to remove anonymity from our monthly feedback forms. Please help us help you.
Thank you.
(With that said, we are requesting that whoever left the lengthy feedback at 6:46PM EST on 10/31 to please contact a mod so that we can clear things up for you)

Overview
Since Iâve come out of my introverted gremlin cave and started to actually work regularly on my writing as well as posting my stuff on here, Iâve decided to structure my blog a bit. Mostly to prevent people from getting absolutely lost in this chaotic mess. Â
I will try to keep this as updated as possible but there might be a bit of a delay between me posting new content and updating this, so please keep that in mind.

Witness how the Head of Varia Housekeeping (my OC) is slowly but surely driven insane by crazy Assassin bullshit, meddling assistants (aka Dave), mountains of paperwork and Mafia politics.
(Btw the concept of my Varia Housekeeping was inspired by Umei_no_Mai whose worldbuilding is absolutely Godtier. I kneel before their greatness.)

Housekeeping Snippets (WIP currently updating on Ao3)
Snippets of my Housekeeping AU starring my various OCs which I posted on tumblr. These are in non-chronological order and mostly focus on character interactions and shenanigans.
Detective Dave is on the case (complete on Ao3 but might add something later on)
Dave has never been able to resist a good mystery, so when one of his informants was suddenly murdered under suspicious circumstances, what else is he supposed to do other than immediately stick his nose into other people's business? ("Can you for once in your life not poke the sleeping dragon with a stick?" "But Chief! A murder mystery! Delivered right to my front door!" "..." "Hey, we are you going? Chief? Chief! I still need you to sign these forms! Come back!" )
This is my crossover with Myell's Killer Whale AU, so if you aren't familiar with her 'verse this story might be a bit confusing, I recommend checking her stuff out first a then coming back to this one. (Shamelessly advertising my Buddy's story again hehehehe)

I've decided to indulge myself and finally make a list some of my favourite KHR fanfics, feel free to check it out!

How Uzushio was saved by drunken seal shenanigans (WIP kinda on hold)
The story of how Uzumaki Ren â explosion specialist, seal master and everyoneâs favourite mad scientist â saves his village from destruction, revolutionizes the medical field, adopts a puppy, and gives his Kage an aneurism. Not necessarily in that order.
Note: I still have stuff for this story prewritten (but nothing post-worthy just yet), but since KHR has overtaken all my brain space, Iâll probably wonât work on this for a while. Iâm still super attached to my mad scientist baby Ren, so there will be more content! ⌠Just in the very far future đ

The infamous witch trials took place during the Age of Enlightenment, which spanned the 1630s to the early 1800s. However, it is 1782 that is particularly interesting to the band before us. That is when Swiss housekeeper Anna GĂśldi was decapitated for being a witch (supposedly, she used supernatural powers to put needles in the children's bread and drink). That year is generally marked as the last of the state-sponsored persecutions against witchcraft (Switzerland later exonerated her in 2008).
Yet with the move from tradition to science and superstition to reason, serious questions remained about the supernatural. Much of the folklore was dismissed out of hand, but 1782 aims to explore these dark legends of times past. Their latest album Clamor Luciferi (which translates as "The Cry of Lucifer") includes tracks such as "Black Rites" and "Death Ceremony".
Today, we get our first listen to a brand new track from 1782's forthcoming album. In this one, they explore the ancient tale of the "Succubus." The band further enlightens us:
Attractive and seductive, she enters your nightmares, takes possession of your body and with ancient echoes drags you towards the deepest darkness. Follow the riff and watch out for evil echoes!
Their voices echo from the shadows, narrating the events of this strange, devilish night. The guitar tone is brutish and stinging, yet paradoxically its reverberations can feel strangely warm, even comforting. The riffmaking is convincing, and true acolytes will be headbanging long before they realize it.
1782's Clamor Luciferi sees the light of day on April 14th via Heavy Psych Sounds (pre-order here). Ideal for a playlist with Electric Wizard, Cough, and Early Moods.
Give ear...
LISTEN: 1782 - "Succubus"
SOME BUZZ
In December 2018, Marco and Gabriele formed a Doom band called 1782 in honor of all the "witches" murdered by the bigoted minds of many generations. On January 4th, the band entered the studio to record the single "She Was A Witch," released by Electric Valley Records on January 17th.
Within a few days the single turns out to be an excellent piece of Doom, arousing great interest, especially on social networks and by listeners of the genre. On February 8, 1782 entered the studio to record the debut album of the same name, on March 10 they signed to the Roman label Heavy Psych Sounds Records for the release of their self-titled debut, released just a few months later.
After Francesco joined the band on bass, the band recorded three new songs, which were released on the split album with Acid Mammoth 'Doom Sessions Vol.2.' In November 2020 the band recorded the second full length 'From The Graveyard.' It's the heaviest album the band has released so far. It will be released through Heavy Psych Sounds in spring 2021.
After playing at Heavy Psych Sounds Fest Berlin & Dresden, and Desertfest Belgium, the band will go on tour with Acid Mammoth in April 2022, including the show at Desertfest London on May 1st.
'Clamor Luciferi' means the scream of Lucifer, a hostile scream but it also means noise and uproar. 1782 with this latest work have taken out the most powerful and evil songs they have ever made. The album opens with an organ piece that conveys anxiety, suffering and melancholy. From the second track onwards the heavy and fuzzy riffs start, followed by powerful and hypnotic drums. As always, the themes are occult and legends of their land. An album that will drag you into the deepest and most deafening darkness, let yourself go and be hypnotized by the Clamor Luciferi!

Overview of Magazines from Project 1952:
Favorite Magazines: Â
1. Life is a big, classy weekly news and culture magazine with lots of amazing pictures and a relatively centrist ideology. Thereâs no obvious slant.Â
2. Motion Picture and Television Magazine might be my favorite movie mag, just cause itâs got tons of great pictures, interviews, and movie ratings. I also got a complete 1952 set for really cheap on ebay, so I gotta love that.Â
3. Good Housekeeping is THICK. Itâs got tons of information on housekeeping, cooking, fashion, decorating, childcare, family dynamics, culture, health, and some short fiction as well. The recipe section in the issue I got was priceless.Â
Favorite articles:Â
âOur Teenagers: How Good are Their Morals?â by Dr. Judson T. and Mary G. Landis., from the March 1st issue of Collier's. It tried to pour cold water over the âjuvenile delinquencyâ hysteria so much of the country was hung up on. I loved that it fact checked the fears and just said- âCalm the F down, everyone!â Â
âLucy Leaves Em Limp,â by Don Allen in the April issue of Motion Picture and Television Magazine. It was a surprisingly in-depth interview with Ball about how I Love Lucy came to be, how it was filmed, and why it was such a success.Â
Worst articles: Â
âCollege Girls: If They Could Only Cook,â in Quick magazine from September 8th. It gripes about how college ruins women from becoming good housewives. âThey average less than two children. Statistically, a high proportion seem likely to have broken marriages and nervous breakdowns.â !!!!Â
âSouthern Crisis: The Segregation Decision,â by Virginius Dabney, in the Saturday Evening Post on November 8th. While awaiting the Brown v. Board of Education decision, this author tells everyone to put the breaks on when it comes to de-segregating the South. All the old crap like, âWeâre moving slowly but still moving!â âLook at a nice school we built for black students! See, separate but equal works!â âWeâre just not ready to desegregate yet, give us time!â and the worst, âIf you move too fast, there will be violence, and itâll be all your fault!âÂ

502: How To Prevent Your Construction Company's Yearly Cycle Of Chaos
This Podcast Is Episode Number 502, And It's About How To Prevent Your Construction Company's Yearly Cycle Of Chaos
The year is almost over. Fourth-quarter and year-end deadlines are approaching. Most construction business owners who reach out to us describe this as their "Year End Madness" to prepare their documents for the tax accountant. The end of the year tends to be chaotic for construction company owners, but it's an excellent time to get some extra housekeeping done for your business. If you're on QuickBooks, you can click the Help Menu; depending on the year and version you're using, you can access the Year-End Guide, which will show you how to wrap up your business year. It's not an easy process, but it's all worth it. Why? Because tax preparers will take what you give them - they don't have the time, and it's much work that you've paid for, but a good tax preparer will know how much you can save if you can track your money. Bottomline - pay your taxes right, but it doesn't have to be more than what you owe.
Since you have a few weeks left for December's statements, ensure everything from November back to January 1st is reconciled. Here are also a few things to catch up on:
1. Review your goals and Key Performance Indicators
A lot has likely happened for your construction business over the previous 11 months. The end of the year is the perfect time to look back and see how your performance is stacked against your goals.
Consider your KPIs and review how you did. Be honest with yourself. If you didn't make your goals, that's okay. Now you can look at what went wrongâor rightâand adjust accordingly. Were there surprises that affected your business? Could you prepare more for slower times? Did you take on too much all at once?
If you met or exceeded your goals, take some time to celebrate the achievements.
2. Review your business plan
Seeing how reality compares to your original business plan is always surprising. Allow yourself to evaluate how you're doing and see if your construction business is becoming what you hoped it would.
If it isn't, ask yourself if your goals and vision have changed or if you haven't been focused enough on them. It's okay to adapt your dream as your business evolves and you understand the market better, but make sure the change is one you intend to make, not one that's happened unconsciously.
3. Reconcile accounts receivable
Unpaid invoices are often one of the biggest disruptors to cash flow. Check if you have any outstanding accounts and remind those clients to settle before the year ends. It also doesn't hurt to double-check if you have any amounts owing to your suppliers and pay those.
4. Catch up on expenses
This is especially important if the end of the calendar year also marks the end of the tax year in your location (as I would like to remind our readers from outside North America), but it's a good practice for anyone. Ensure you've accounted for any eligible business expenses by year's end to stay up to date for tax season.
5. Verify vendor or client information
You already know that your business has changed for the year. The same is true for all the other companies that you work with. Take some time to ensure you have their correct information and are aware of any changes to their business terms.
6. Review subscriptions
It's easy to let subscriptions fly under the radar, but they quickly add up. Review your active subscriptions and cancel any that aren't relevant anymore. It's easy to get more money in your pocket, and it's fun to choose some new ones for the new year that better meet your needs.
7. Send out year-end letters
Put together a year-end letter for customers or clients and another for employees.
Let your clients know what you've been up to over the year, share some of your milestones, and let them know how much you appreciate their business. Highlight any community events that your business was a part of. It's an excellent way to stay in touch and keep yourself fresh in their mind for when they may need your services in the new year.
Thank your employees for all their hard work over the year. Call attention to your successes and celebrate all that you've achieved. It's a great way to provide recognition and highlight the most important events of the year.
8. Consider end-of-year gifts or bonuses
The end of the year is a terrific time to reward employees for a job well done. Even if you have an established bonus program, it's always nice to surprise employees with a gift. It's a personal way to say thank you and tell them how much you appreciate them.
Final thoughts
The end of the year is notoriously busy, and the holidays make it even harder to get things done. However, it's a great time to reflect on and celebrate your accomplishments. You'll be glad you did when the new year rolls around, and you feel like you've wrapped the year up in a bow â ready to take on the next one with a sense of renewal.
If you are still asking yourself the $64,000 questions: What about this and that? Have I met my goals for this year? What should I do for the balance of this year? What are my plans for the start of next year? Should I start now? Should I wait? I can't decide! - It is time to start fixing those loose ends now! The reports are only as good as the data received. Contact me to discuss your needs. If you don't know the answers tell me as much as you can, and I will do my best to "fill in the blanks."

Archibald Hall aka The Monster Butler
Hall's criminal career began as a thief at the age of 15. He soon progressed to house breaking. Capitalizing on his bisexuality, he then infiltrated the gay scene in London, after moving there with profits of his criminal ventures. He served his first jail sentence for attempting to sell jewellery in London that he had stolen in Scotland. During his sentence he studied antiques and learned the etiquette of the aristocracy, as well as taking elocution lessons to soften his Scottish accent.
Upon his release he began using the name Roy Fontaine, after the actress Joan Fontaine, and worked as a butler, occasionally returning to prison for further jewel thefts. He married and divorced during this time.
In 1975, Hall was released from prison and returned to Scotland. He began working as butler to Margaret ('Peggy') Hudson, a dowager (widow of Sir Austin Hudson, 1st Baronet, a Conservative member of parliament)Â Â who lived at Kirtleton House, Dumfriesshire. Hall had initially planned to steal her valuables but he never carried this out when he realized that he liked both his job and employer too much.
When David Wright, an acquaintance from his last prison term, was also given a job on the estate as a gamekeeper in 1977, the two had an altercation after Wright stole some of Lady Hudson's jewellery and threatened to tell her about Hall's own criminal past if Hall reported him.
Hall took Wright on a rabbit hunt in a trick attempt at coming to an amicable solution. Once out in the fields, he shot Wright dead and buried him next to the stream in the Kirtleton House grounds.
Hall soon left his job after Lady Hudson discovered his criminal past. Based in London again, he combined more thieving and racketeering with working as a butler to the 82-year-old Walter Scott-Elliot and his 60-year-old wife Dorothy. Scott-Elliot had been the Labour MP for Accrington from 1945 to 1950, was wealthy and from an aristocratic Scottish background. Hall's plan was to rob the couple of their money and retire, but in the end he killed both of them after Dorothy Scott-Elliot walked in on Hall and an accomplice, Michael Kitto, as the two men were discussing their plans.
Kitto's first murder was when he immediately put a pillow over her mouth and suffocated her.
Hall and Kitto then drugged her husband and drove them both up to Scotland, helped by the Scott-Elliots' housekeeper Mary Coggle. After they buried Dorothy in Braco, Perthshire, they strangled and beat her sedated husband with a shovel and buried him in woods near Tomich, Invernesshire.
Their next victim was Coggle, who had taken to wearing Dorothy's expensive clothes and jewellery, and was drawing too much attention to herself. After she refused to dispose of a fur coat which was potentially incriminating evidence, Hall and Kitto killed her with a poker and left her body in a stream near Middlebie, Dumfriesshire, where she was discovered on 25 December 1977 by a shepherd.
The final victim of the pair was Hall's half-brother Donald, a paedophile recently released from prison, whom Hall hated. Hall and Kitto found Donald at Hall's holiday home in Cumbria, and, telling him that their next robbery was going to be a tie-up job, tricked him into letting them practice on him. Once Donald was tied up, Hall used chloroform to incapacitate him before drowning him in the bath. The abortive effort to dispose of his body led to Hall and Kitto's downfall.
Hall and Kitto placed Donald's body in the boot of a car and again drove to Scotland to carry out another burial. However, Hall had made Kitto replace the car's number plate which contained three 9s, because he believed it was unlucky: this meant the tax disc and the number plate did not match. The wintry weather made driving hazardous, and so on reaching North Berwick in East Lothian, they decided to check into the Blenheim House Hotel on the north side of the High Street overnight to lessen their chances of being in an accident.
However, the shifty movements of Hall and Kitto made the hotelier suspicious and, worried about whether he would be paid for their stay, he called the police as a precaution. When they arrived, they realized the tax disc and number plate did not match and took Kitto and Hall in for questioning. They then took the car to the police station (only 200 yards away, and on the same side of the High Street) where they made the discovery of Donald's body in the boot.
Kitto was arrested but Hall escaped through a lavatory window. He was captured at a police roadblock in nearby Haddington.
The police then made a connection between Hall's car and the registration number of a vehicle noted by a suspicious antiques dealer in Newcastle-under-Lyme, to whom two men had offered silver and china at a price well below its true value. The police traced the car to the Scott-Elliots' address in London and found the apartment robbed of many valuables and spattered with blood. This also linked with the murder of Coggle, whose body had already been found and who had been previously registered as a housekeeper for the Scott-Elliots. The police had evidence that three men (including a drugged Scott-Elliot) and a woman had stayed at a Scottish hotel for one night, but the following night only two men â Hall and Kitto â returned.
Hall tried and failed to commit suicide while in custody, before revealing the whereabouts of the three buried victims. In deep snow and bitterly cold weather, and with the media watching, police teams dug up the bodies of David Wright and Walter and Dorothy Scott-Elliot. They charged Hall and Kitto with five murders.
