Was bit by a bug and now I'm drawing my own BFDI humanizations any tips

OMG WOW OKAY I'm excited to see em and you have to show me when you do. Second of all I actually answered this question to someone else the other day! It's kinda lengthy but I'll put it under cut ^^

I'm far from experienced when It comes to character design but It's usually something in this order give or take:

First Step: Figure out the personality/archetype. Clock for example (I will use him most here cuz he's my favorite) has a character that can be described as annoying, self righteous, sticks to rules to the point where he rats out other contestants, but still very eager and can be smart when It comes to challenges. I thought hm.. he has some stereotypical nerd traits. So I designed him with that archetype in mind. Winner is similar, where I noticed their strength and went with something sporty but leaned into something more, I guess "pretty" lol cuz that's just how I see them personally (When I made them there was only 1 Ep...). Extra Step: How old do I think this character is? Short or tall? Fat, thin, muscular? For some characters I can easily pin this down, like Loser sounding old and her and Winner having scenes where they are both strong. But for many there's some leeway of personal interpretation. Their profession/hobbies are important too, but for BFDI in particular that's often totally up to me what I think they'd do.

I see if I can incoperate anything from the object into the design. I try not to lean TOO far into it so they can work as their own designs but for example Clock is round, so his humanization is round. Winner has more Bumps in their shilouhette so I thought curly hair could reflect that well (I REGRET NOT MAKING THEM FAT). Also for another example Nate's basketball gijinka is a gym teacher. Makes sense right. I try not to always go with the obvious but sometimes it just works

Rest is just usual character design questions. Do I think they would wear this? Are they maybe part of a subculture? (See: Hobbies) Trial and error on the details and what would look good. For example Clock has a very simple outfit of a pants with suspenders and a mostly white shirt. Winner is a lot more thought out (I will make a post on this eventually on my tumblr, maybe I'll send it here too). Lightning is more fashionable with slick light up shoes cuz he's a shoe model. Book doesn't focus much on fashion so she's just in a hoodie and shorts and at best a ponytail. That's details you can fuck around with
