Ours To Keep (3) | Joe Burrow
Smut/18+, Fluff, Slight Angst
Summary: you and Joe are learning to juggle your pregnancy on top of the fast approaching football season, all while growing even closer than before, which neither of you thought was possible.

You’re bent over the toilet of the facility bathroom emptying to contents of your stomach. The nausea seemed to come in swinging. This is how you found yourself most mornings, and even throughout the day. The anti-nausea medicine prescribed to you barely ever seemed to work. Letting out a groan, you flushed the toilet and stood up.
It’d been two weeks since the confirmation of your pregnancy, and you learned from the ultra sound that you were about 3 months along. While you weren’t showing yet, the weight gain was starting to become obvious. Your jeans no longer fit you, so you opted for leggings most of the time. Your bra’s became too snug, so you had to get new ones. Most of all, you’d started wearing Joe’s bengals shirts to work to hide the weight gain. The two of you still hadn’t told anyone about the baby. You wanted to live in your own little bubble for a while. Joe agreed, knowing it would cause less stress for you if you hadn’t told anyone yet.
You washed your hands and walked out of the bathroom. You stopped by your office to grab your laptop, and made your way toward the practice field. Practice wasn’t open to the public today so you opted to work outside. You needed some fresh air anyway. You took a seat on a slightly shaded part of grass, and started to respond to emails regarding brand deals and events that Joe would need to go to. Setting up interviews and juggling everything around his football schedule. You also had to plan doctors appointments around both of your schedules, because he said he refuses to miss a single one.
You hear a whistle blow, and look up just in time to see Joe hoping on one foot, out of the way of the play and taking a seat on the ground, with his brow furrowed in pain. Your heart drops to your stomach. You set your laptop aside, and watch as Coach Taylor walks over to Joe. You don’t dare walk over there because Joe would throw a fit if someone even accidentally bumped you.
“Fuck,” you mutter as Joe gets carted off the field. You gather your things and quickly make your way back into the facility. You find Joe in one of the medical rooms sitting on the table, he’s by himself so you slip into the room. “Hey, what happened?”
“Strained my damn calf.” he spits, and you wince. “Sorry, I didn’t mean for it to come out so harsh” he apologizes. “Zac dismissed me for the day. I’m just trying to find the motivation to get up and take a shower before we head out. Hurts like a bitch,” he admits, looking over at you. “Do you need help?” You ask and he shakes his head.
“No, I should be okay. I don’t think I can drive though”
“Well it’s a good thing we came together then. You’ll just have to trust me to drive your baby” you joke, and he jokingly rolls his eyes. “If I can trust you to carry my baby then I guess I can trust you to drive my third baby” he jokes, and you grow confused. “Third?”
“Well, there’s you, our baby, and my Porsche” he explains, and your heart melts. “Let’s get outta here,” he says before you can say anything, slowly getting on his feet.
•••
“Thanks, baby” Joe says as you set a plate of food in front of him while he sits on the couch with his leg elevated. You smiled at him in return before taking a seat next to him. You look over at him while he eats, and you can’t shake the thought from your head. “Joey,” you say, catching his attention. “Can we talk…about us?”
He sets his plate aside and looks over at you, not being able to move much due to his calf. “What about us?” He asks softly. You let out a sigh. “I don’t know. I guess I’m just wondering where everything leaves us. You know, with the baby and all. I’m 100% okay if you don’t feel the same way, but I have to get this off of my chest” you tell him, taking a deep breath. He bites the inside of his cheek, stopping a smile from forming. He knows exactly where this is going.
“I’ve liked you for a really long time. Which is why I let our situation go on for such a long time. I craved that touch from you. I craved literally anything from you. I guess what I’m trying to say is, this baby made me realize that I don’t want to be without you. Ever. I love you, Joey, and you don’t have to say back. I just needed you to know-“
He cuts you off by pulling you in for a kiss. The kiss was slow, not rushed. Soft and full of love. It felt like fireworks were bursting in your chest. You pulled away and stared into his eyes, a look of adoration evident in the ocean blue irises that you loved so much.
“I love you, so so much” Joe mutters. “You and our baby”
“So what does this mean for us?” You ask quietly, with a hint of hope in your voice. “It means you’ve always been my girl, but now it’s official” he smirks, pulling you to straddle his waist. “Joey, I don’t wanna hurt you!” You shriek, trying to get off of his lap. “It’s my calf not my thighs. You’re perfectly fine, baby” he assures you, before smashing his lips onto yours.
This kiss was feverish and full of desire. The raw passion made the room around you feel warm. Joe’s hands settle on your ass, grinding you down on his growing erection inside his sweats. He groans into the kiss as he repeats his action. Your hands slide down his clothed chest, moving slowly toward the bottom of his hoodie. You slide your hands under his hoodie and his shirt, moving it up and he help you take it off. His hands grip the bottom of your shirt and pull it over your head, you weren’t wearing a bra, do your boobs sprung in his face.
His mouth attaches to one of your sensitive nipples and you let out a sharp gasp. “Please be gentle, they’re sore right now” you tell him breathlessly. “I got you baby, I’ll take care of you” Joe says, his tongue slowly circling your left nipple. You tip your head back as you let out a soft moan. He gently sucks it into his mouth before letting it go with a pop, moving to the other side.
“Fuck, Joey” you whine, grinding yourself into his lap. “You like this gorgeous? Fuck, your tits are huge now. They’re so beautiful” he groans, softly kneading them in his large hands. You lean in capturing his lips again. His hands push your cotton shorts over the curve of your ass, slapping it as he does so, causing you to gasp.
“Take these off,” he says, helping you stand to remove your shorts. He removes his sweats as well. Both of you completely bare, not like you haven’t been before. You straddle his waist again, his hard cock rubbing perfectly against your swollen bud. You whine, grinding down. “I’m gonna take care of you, baby, don’t you worry” he whispers in your ear, his voice laced with lust. His hand moves between your thighs, groaning when he feels how wet you are for him. You whine as he gathers your wetness and his fingers start to circle your clit.
Your nipples rubbing against his chest made the pleasure feel almost overwhelming. His lips are back on yours while his fingers work you. Your moans and whines are caught in his mouth. He pulls away, his lips finding your chest again, you throw your head back. “Fuck Joey!” You whine loudly. “Fuuuckk” you moan out, and he smirks against your chest. You let out a sharp gasp when his fingers move from your clit to your sopping entrance, and he inserts two fingers.
“Fuck you’re so wet for me,” Joe groans. “Baby, I’m gonna cum” you whine out and his fingers move faster. “Cum for me baby. Cum all over my hand”
Your breathless moans sound throughout the living room, your head tipped back as you fall apart from just his talented fingers. You lean forward and rest your sweaty forehead on his shoulder. “You think you can ride me, baby?” Joe mutters into your ear, nipping at your earlobe. You nod and pull back to position yourself above him. Sinking down slowly, you feel every inch. Every vein. Your eyes are shut and mouth formed into a perfect “O” shape. Joe lets out a groan as you’re fully seated. He gives you a minute to adjust to his size.
You feel so full. You haven’t felt this in almost a month due to the two of you being so busy. You start to move back and fourth, a soft moan slipping past your lips. Joe’s large hands find your waist to help guide you. You let out a laid moan as he lips your hips and slams you back down. “Oh my god!”
“Yeah, you like that baby?”
You let out a loud moan in response. His hands basically doing all of the work. The pace is merciless. His cock hitting all the right places. “Fuck, daddy, right there!” You yell out, without realizing what had slipped, but Joe fucking loved it. “Say it again.” He orders, moving you faster. “Fuck, daddy!” You gasp out. You can feel the knot tightening in your belly. Joe can feel the way you’re squeezing him, and he knows you’re close.
“You gonna cum baby? Cum all over this dick”
You let out a loud, high pitched whine. “I’m gonna fill you up. You’re gonna look so sexy all big and pregnant with my baby. Fuuckkk” Joe groans, tipping his head back. You yell out as you come apart, his hands holding you in place. Both of your chests heaving. You lean forward and lay your head on his shoulder and slowly lift yourself off of him, both of you hissing.
“That was hot,” you comment breathlessly.
“So hot.” Joe agrees. “You good?” He asks and you lift your head to make eye contact. “So good.”
“But I am a little hungry.” You comment sheepishly, and Joe lets out a loud laugh. “Alright. Let’s go shower and then get you and baby some food”
•••
The next day at work was a busy one. The first pre season game was in just 3 days. You and other players assistants were running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to prepare everything for the guys. You more than most since you literally work for the quarterback. You felt like you hadn’t had a chance to stop and take a breath.
Finally you were able to retreat to your office for lunch. Gabby already sitting at her desk, smiled at you tiredly as you walked in. “Hey girlie” she says, and you smile at her. “Hey. Heard your load was pretty big today” you comment and she groans. “Don’t remind me—oh my gosh! Y/N, you have blood on the back of your pants” Gabby says, letting out a gasp. You heart falls into your stomach. This isn’t happening.
“Oh my god!” Your eyes begin to fill with tears. “Hey, it’s okay. I have an extra pair of pants in my bag that you can borrow-“
“Gabby, I need you to go get Joe”
“Why would you need Joe for this?” She questions confused. “Gabby please. Just get Joe”

My GOD I just had the cutest idea….
Joey who picks out makeup for you whenever he goes shopping for it. You’re lazing on the couch after a workout, flipping through TV channels when he pokes his head into the living room and shoots you a loving grin.
“Hey doll, I need to grab more setting powder for the show tomorrow night. Wanna come with?”
You groan, lolling your head onto the back cushion.
“I would but my legs are jelly and my circuits are fried,” you sigh, motioning to your head. He feigns a pout, slinking into the room further and leaning against the wall.
“Can I tempt you with an added trip to that Mexican place down the block?”
Now you do consider this - but MAN were you exhausted from the week, and errands weren’t something you were looking forward to (even with the promise of a fat juicy burrito.)
“Sorry hon, as great as that sounds, I’m spent. I think I’m just gonna stay in for the night. But thanks,” you bat your lashes at him sweetly. He rolls his eyes and huffs in mock-defeat, but smirks.
“Alright fiiine. You want me to pick anything up though? How are you doing on blush? I know you mentioned that you were looking to get a new one the other day - Or eyeliner? You did say your pencil was on its last legs…” his brows furrowed at his attempt to recall what may be on your beauty shopping list, his icy blue eyes gleaming with focus. You giggled, and his face lit up.
“Yeah if you could grab me a new pencil that’d be sweet. I’m good on my blush for now though.”
“Gotcha- which brand again, doll?”
You paused, contemplating the question. As much mileage as you got from your current pencil, you weren’t a big fan of how easily it smudged - and the added on fact that it was more irritating to your waterline than other products you’ve tried before. A sudden idea popped into your head, and a smirk tugged at your lips.
“I’ll let you pick. You do seem to be the more well-versed expert on this subject between the two of us… respectively, y’know?” You chirped. He chuckled, shooting you a wink.
“Then I’ll make sure to get you something good - still want takeout, by the way?”
Your head perked up at this, and you grinned excitedly. He took this as a yes, popping up from the wall and moving to lean over the back of the couch, his hair hanging down and tickling your nose.
“Your usual I’m assuming, doll?” He muttered in a sickly sweet (yet somewhat sultry) tone, leaning closer to your flustering face.
“Yes pleaaase,” you giggled, blowing at a dangling red strand. He smirked, leaning down and pecking a line down from your forehead to your lips. Your blush had to be evident as he pulled away, trudging over to the counter and swiping his keys before making his way over to the door.
“I’ll be back soon then. Don’t go disappearing on me,” he announced as he swung the door open and stepped a foot out.
“Oh trust, I wont. And thank you, doll.” You emphasized your mock, to which he simply rolled his eyes and winked at you before slinking out into the sunny afternoon.
You chuckled, already back to your channel search as you awaited his return.

Chapter 2
Masterlist
A/N: Ok I was planning to publish, like every Wednesday but I was so busy that I couldn't. Still it's San Valentines day and week, I won't let it pass. Also I have something planned for this day but well my days and my schedule didn't fit.
However! Happy Valentine's Day 😘
Thanks for reading! 🍒

To her surprise the next day Monet came running like every morning after finishing her two hour painting, of course with more breaks than painting from time to time.
Just this time, he came with a strange fluffy toy.
“Monet!” She goes down taking the toy of his snout looking around expecting to find the owner of the toy.
Instead the only one she found is Officer Lynch finish his shift. “Oh Y/N, leaving too?”
Y/N smiles; since she added painting in her morning routine Officer Lynch always make sure she stay safe, when Monet was include to the equation, he secure multiple eyes are on him.
“That’s what I’m trying but I’m afraid Monet took this from someone.” Y/N stands with the toy in her hands grabbing her bag and the canva.
“No!, that’s his.” Officer Lynch smiles leaving more confuse Y/N. “Joey gives to him.”
Y/N sees Monet tapping his paws for she gave him back his toy. “What?”
“Joey and he are…making a special friendship, he came the day before Christmas to give him this, but I guess you went out, then after New Year still you didn't come until today.”Officer Lynch smiles when Monet sniff his hand.
Y/N feel confused, her dog has a friend? “Yeah, we went with my father and then I had tons of work so I wasn’t able to come until today.”
“That explained a lot of things.” The man patted Monet's head. “Don’t worry Y/N, Joey is such a good guy, I dare to say one of a kind.” He smiles at Y/N who keeps confused and intrigue. “Both of them are taking care of each other, trust me.”
“Ok?”
Y/N can barely answer but her eyes back to the toy in her hands and the fact that actually could be one of the reasons, these days Monet just needs to perk out at their house for he starts to look around the block observing his surroundings like he was actually expecting someone.
Joe leaves the park with a wide smile on his face, he arrived there earlier than he does, doing his usual routine expecting that little spotted puppy came running.
20 minutes later, Joe sees him appearing among the trees with his green bandanna over his neck moving the tail side to side.
“Hey buddy!” Monet sits waiting for Joe's hands pat his head to stand on his two legs. “A few days and this cast will be history.”
Monet sees the bump in his hoodie and smells it. “Right, Merry Christmas and happy New Year.” Joe giggles seeing the puppy smelling incessantly as he opens the package.
Monet grabs it right away, biting it over the ground as Joe sits on the bench observing the dog, a few minutes later, Monet puts it over his lap, waiting as he sits.
“I can’t actually throw that far with the other one.” Monet tilted his head. “But what about short distances?”
That’s how they spend the time with Joe throwing the toy, then Monet searching for it walking back and repeating the action until both of them sit on the grass.
“Water?” Officer Lynch asked in his last lap around the park.
Joe sees the bottle and accepts it; the question is how Monet will drink? “I think I need a plate or something.”
Officer Lynch give him one. “Mrs. Howk always had one in case Monet visited her.”
Mrs. Howk is a lady that used to come every morning to feed the doves or birds in the middle of the park.
The Officer Lynch couldn’t avoid smiling seeing that to boys drinking water worn-out even they just play for a short time.
“That’s his present?” He saw the fluffy toy in front of Monet.
“Yeah, I seriously start to believe he loves it.” Joe sees Monet laid on to his left, clearly tired.
“I guess he does.” For the Officer Lynch is adorable the bond he’s abel to witness, increasing day by day, after all that’s the reason why people said dogs are the bestfriends of people.
“Morning.” Savannah enters her friend's house with her PJ's; Nora has a morning training that probably Savannah forgets.
Dragging her to the couch, she laid down, closing her eyes as Monet starts to sniff her, all he can reach.
Savannah laughs when Monet takes the pillow from her face so she can give her attention to him.
“Ok, sorry, sorry, hi boy.” Monet barks, laying his head on the top of her tummy.
Y/N smiles. “Breakfast?”
“And coffee.” Y/N turns around to get the coffee machine ready.
“Hey, that’s a fabulous toy.” Savannah said standing from the couch, her hair tossing in every possible direction. “Where did you find it?”
Y/N quickly sees the fluffy toy over Monet's bed. It’s been a couple of weeks since Monet has it and already looks like it’s had 3 years of use.
The first day after he had it, Y/N was surprised by the fact Monet barks next to his bed where the toy was. It took her a couple of seconds to realize he wanted to take it for their morning in the park. The following weeks that toy was already in the bag next to the door, the one Y/N takes to the park every morning with her paintbrush and cans of paint along with a few snacks and water of Monet.
“You don’t need permission, huh?” Y/N sat kneeling in front of her dog who looks at her big shiny eyes, like she’s the only person he loves.
Y/N giggles and kisses his head before putting his collar on. “I love you so much, you know that?”
Monet barks, liking the first part he has at the reach, her arm.
Y/N serves two plates, and cups of coffee before serving Monet’s food. “I don’t. Monet’s friend gave it to him.”
“What?” Savannah laughs. “Monte has a friend, ok, who?”
Y/N pat Monet’s head as he smells his food. “I don’t know.”
Savannah choke with her coffee. It’s not a secret that Monet used to spend free time around the park; she already witness too, he goes first with the man of the coffee, who always has his small cart for selling coffee and with the wise recommendation of Y/N a small treat for him, then he spends time with the lady who feeds birds follow he taking his time with the officer before spend some time in the bench between the trees where you can see the strange conjunction among the old houses and clear big sky at the back.
But Y/N knows them really well, she used to spend her days there when she was a kid, her grandparents not living so far away from there; after she decided to come back it’s like the time didn’t pass.
Savannah alarms ring when the dog she loves so deep, has a friend and she doesn't even know who it is.
“And you’re ok with that?!” Savannah sees her friend sitting in front of her calmly.
“Officer Lynch knows him, he calls him Joey.” Y/N lift her shoulders. “For the name probably it’s a kid that plays with him before going to school.”
Y/N giggles seeing her friend that bewildered. “Come on Sav! I don’t want to scare a little boy saying, <Hey don’t play with my dog.>” Y/N remember who badly she wanted a dog when she was a kid but the resources and time weren't appropriate.
And she's reluctant to take that small connection with a kid that probably has been through the same.
“Monet is so happy every time he comes back with me after playing with his friends and probably the kid too. That’s what matters, right?”
Savannah observer at Monet, soon he will be 6 months older and he’s growing up so quickly and big, besides that’s what she works with him every weekend, training him for any unexpected event.
Savannah works in a physiotherapy for dogs and training them too, she knows for sure, if that Joey kid could be mean, Monet simply walks away.
“Happy and healthy dog.” Savannah said, as Y/N nods with a bite of her waffles in her mouth.
Still the name keeps resembling something Nora mentions the time she took Monet for a walk.
For Ja’Marr it was equally impressive, every time he sees Joe these last weeks he’s so determined to recover and improve every day, along with the rehabilitation, the fact he’s taking piano classes and his new dog-friend makes Joe take things with calm but confidence.
“You play with the dog, he helps you to stay calm and relax, then you wait for the next day and do the same.”Ja’Marr jokes.
They meet for dinner in Joe’s new home. “What does the dog and the owner have in exchange for that?”
Joe chuckles, he already thinks about it, with the multiple things he could do to help her and Monet.
“Monet.” Ja’Marr giggles for his friend's correction.
“Right, sorry, Monet.” Chase takes out the salad of the food they order. “I know a little bit about dogs, but they eat, sleep, drink and need vet things.“ He points at his friend with the fork. “And that sounds expensive.”
Those words keep Joe’s mind busy all night and in the morning increasing when Monet and he start to play, seeing the fur of Monet shine with the sun and the fact he's always clean and healthy.
Monet brings the toy for Joe, takes it and throws, with more force than he wanted due to being immersed in his own thoughts, he knows it for the time Monet takes for coming back with nothing.
“Shoot.” Joe mumbles when he sees Monet smelling around the place, still finding nothing.
They lose track of time until a text from his assistant announces they have been waiting for him for 20 minutes, he observes a Monet with regretful eyes as the dogs keep looking around the place with the hope of finding his toy.
Officer Lynch appears in the path with worried eyes, it’s been tree times since Monet has been called; Y/N already called him knowing if Monet is with him or has been see him and with who.
“Thank God!” He’s relieved to see Monet and Joe together. “Hey boy, time to go, they’re looking for you at the entrance.”
Still Monet observers Joe begging for his toy, making his heart squeeze.
“Can I borrow one of these and a pen?” He has an idea, that will, if he's lucky enough to help him to have some type of contact with his owner.
“Shit!” Y/N was about to run to the back of the park with his heart almost coming out of her chest when Monet appears running up the path.
Y/N collapsed on the floor hugging Monet so tight by the neck feeling all the air she's been containing finally out, taking the weight from her chest.
“God! I was so scared.” Monet breathes incessantly as he moves his head around.
What calls for her attention is a strange crunch around his neck under the bandanna; she lifted it carefully and saw a small roll of paper.
“What is this?” She observes her dog with narrow eyes as she unrolls a fine?
“YOU HAVE A FINE?!” Y/N sits on the ground chuckling at the funny situation of her dog carrying a fine.
The scrappy writing helps her to understand.
>I'm so sorry, I lost the toy of Monet and we're searching for it so he refused to go and… I'm so sorry to make you feel worried, I'll fix it I promise.
-JB
Y/N sees Monet thinking how bad the kid must be feeling for lost the toy and probably being search by Officer Lynch around the park.
“We will fix this later, now, I'm going to work late, let's go boy.” Monet barks as she puts the leash in his collar.
That's what she plans until the meeting that afternoon, things are going pretty well and the company has a last minute plan for Valentine's day, one more time she is stuck in her house for days.
Y/N loves her work, she never dreams about working in webtoons, however from the first second she was linked with the first writer she knew, she found her dream job.
“Y/N!” Savannah screams from the entrance letting go Monet for finding his owner. “We're here.”
Monet does his routine, the one he does every time he comes back home with her, before going to drink water.
“One minute!” Y/N mixing the colours properly makes the transition smoother.
“Pizza?” Savannah is tired, she loved cooking unless she's tired
“Sure.”
Savannah perks to the room. “Hey, Nora couldn't take him to the park, but he's been my help dog these days.”
Y/N smirks, the last thing she could picture is Monet helping, he’s an amazing boy but with so much energy for helping dogs who are recovering.
“Believe me, I bet some ladies are following him more than I expect.” Savannah said walking back with her phone in her hands ready for making the order.
Y/N takes a quick glimpse of the canva next to her, the park when the summer begins, and couldn't avoid worrying for the little kid who probably is expecting Monet every day.
She laid her down head on the chair. “Wait a little bit kid, but I'm stuck here.”
Two pizzas later, they crash on the carpet, Savannah jumps remembering something.
“Oh, I've been asking and nothing.” Savannah turns around her head to see Y/N “No one knows where we can find a toy like that.”
All these days Y/N has been searching on the internet, in her small runaways to the mall but nothing.
Y/N sighs, she hopes to be able to go to the park for Monet goes with his friend.
“You will take the fine with you?” For Savannah, it is still a hilarious story about small talk through a fine.
Y/N giggles. “How will communicate with him?” She keeps that fine in her bag. “I don't want to scare him going to him with Monet after disappearing for days.”
Y/N feels already bad thinking probably the kid believes it's his fault and she's mad.
“I choose the notes over the talk.”
Joe feels awful he goes back searching for a new toy but they ran out of it. So he went to the park moving his hands against each other trying to find the words to introduce to Monet's owner but all seemed worse than the last one.
“Hey I'm Joe, I lost your dog's toy, besides he's been with me these days helping with the recovery and more than that.”
He gets down his head, that definitely sounds awkward.
It only increases after the second day Monet didn't appear, and Officer Lynch said he hasn’t see him either.
She's mad, definitely mad.
Either way Joe continued going every morning hoping to find Monet but for two weeks he didn't come.
The following week he had things to do outside of Cincinnati but his mind couldn't avoid thinking about his furry friend.
“Morning Joe.” Officer Lynch said founding him at the entrance after finishing his shift. “A little bit late, huh?”
It's around 9 am, by that time he's usually back at home having his breakfast, still he just goes there for a routine.
“A little friend has been waiting for you for a long time.” Joe opened his eyes running to the beach as he said thanks to the Officer who giggled; Joe looks like a kid running to see a lifetime friend.
Monet was the first one to hear him and smell him, by the time Joe was about to see the bench Monet was barking, running to him gasping as moves around him happy to see him.
Joe kneels and the long licks in his hand as the sniffing around him, is his clear show of love.
“I miss you too buddy.” Joe patted him from his head to his back before hugging him around his neck.
The crunchy sound calls for his attention, by Monet eager movements his bandanna moves and he sees the fine and his writing.
“Is it for me?” Monet sees him gasping.
He unties the fine around his collar.
>We're not mad! I'm sorry I had tons of work these weeks. Don't worry I'll keep looking for the toy, it helps me if you tell me where you find it.
P.D. Monet loves freebies.
P.D 2 It's been a week, please Monet miss his friend, don't stop playing with him.
It's just a simple mistake.
P.D 3 Why am I even writing this? 😂
The perfectly drawn emoji makes Joe giggles, as the first P.D where the ink is more dull helps him to understand in fact she’s been writing every week he wasn’t here.
“It's kind of witty your owner, huh?” Joe scratches the back of his head.
Monet carefully smells his hand still with a bandage on it.
“Oh, I'm getting better.”
Joe takes another look at the note one more time, smirking at the fact she actually writes in blue or green tint.
“A frisbee, I can get more than one, you know.” He kisses Monet's head. “A colour in mind?”
Monte barks jumping over him in a clear sign of bliss.

a little update straight from freshly dried ink
goodness me it's been a long time since i've been on writeblr - since early January I believe, and yes, it has been a long time, but I can tell you all now, with a great, big, stupidly wide smile on my face - that my time has been spent on important things, i've not just forgotten about Tumblr and let my blog go to waste (hell would freeze over before I ever let that happen),
my past month has been spent on things i couldn't update anybody about until they were done - and i can finally tell the wonderful world of writeblr that ruin's reprisal is done! final proofreads are complete (yes it did take me a long, long time to get through, but hey, juggling writing and life - especially at the start of semester 2 at uni - is an impressive skill i've been working on ever since I first found myself trying to write and I'm still learning the balance, even after years in the making) and i've got a fully finished off draft, if i can even call it that anymore, sitting in my files, and it's a day I never did think I'd get to, not considering this book has been around four years in the making, but I did it! it's done!
and another little update - truths, my little story I started on the 1st day of the year, ended up being around 3/4 complete by the end of January, which I'm very shocked about - I never thought I'd have it in me to create this story so quickly, and now that the week I took off writing it to focus solely on proofreading ruin's reprisal has finally paid off, I can get back to it! and i truly cannot wait to share more of truths and a few other things I have in store (which I'm not sharing quite yet, dear reader, you'll have to wait, but not for long, I give you my word)
but, to focus on the main point to this post - ruin's reprisal is done, which means... (insert drumroll if you will) i get to move onto the very final, polishing details - coming up with a blurb (the BANE of my existence), and more exciting things too! such as announcing a release date (soon, but tbd. ((deadlines be forgiving))) and creating a cover! (which I am both very much looking forward to and am equally terrified about) but for now, I can leave you all with a few stats about the book! Ruin's Reprisal is composed of 220,354 words, 566 pages, and 42 chapters (plus a bonus one i'm very excited about including since it's a glimpse at another character's pov during a very crucial scene - you'll understand come release, trust me :)) and who knows, there may be a little game full of teasers up my sleeve, we shall see, but for now, thank you for being a part of this journey and keeping my writing going writeblr, it means more than I could ever say to do it justice - keep writing and i'll speak to you all soon! ~ A Girl and Her Quill
~ ~ ~
now for the tag list!
(p.s if you'd like to be included/notified too, interact with this post :) p.p.s im finally getting around to updating it, so bear with me :))

You was walking down the road with your nieces and nephews.
“Reggie!” Maggie smiled as she pointed to him across the road, catching his and yours attention.
“Ello.” Reggie smiled as he walked over to you all.
“Hey reg” you blushed and he smiled as he looked down at you.
“I uh- I’ve got somefink for you.” Reggie said as he dug into his pocket. Pulling out a bag of your favourite sweets.
“Reg! You didn’t have to- thank you” you smiled giving him a peck on the cheek making him smile.
He scratched his nose “you deserve it, I’ll see you lot later yeah?” He asked and you nodded, “bye Reggie!” Maggie smiled as she blew him a kiss bye making him chuckle.
“Are you dating him?” Tommy asked you and you shook your head.
“God no- he’s not interested in me..” you said handing some of the sweets to Maggie and Jay.
“Bee, no man just buys a woman gifts” Tommy said to you as Joey nodded.
“Yeah, Ya Dont do that unless you really like someone”
“You blushinnnngg! Your in looove!” Maggie giggled pointing to your now pink face.
“Am I in love with a gangster?” You asked yourself in your head.
And without you knowing, Reggie heard everything.
———
Reggie was walking down the road when he heard someone shout behind him.
“Oi! Reg?” Joey said loudly gesturing for him to come over.
Him and Tommy were smoking as they leant against the brick wall.
“Ello’ what’re you doin out here?” Reggie asked them and Tommy blew out a cloud of smoke in his face.
“We’re waiting for bee” joey said as he looked behind him when on perfect timing you walked out of the shop.
“C’mon Freddie- oh. Reggie! What ar’ you doin here?” You asked giving him a smile.
“Oh just goin on a walk…” Reggie said but Tommy scoffed.
Freddie began crying since he dropped his toy in the shop so you sighed “hang on I’ll be back in a sec…”
You walked back into the shop and Tommy glared at reg.
“You alright.” Reggie asked him and he squinted his eyes harder.
“Where are you goin after this then?” Reggie asked Joey and he shrugged.
“Probably-“
“Don’t talk to him Joey.” Tommy cut him off harshly looking at reg.
“You don’t like me do ya? Why?” Reggie asked and Tommy scoffed.
“I don’t trust you that’s why. She’s naive and gullible and one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.”
“I know that’s why-“ Reggie was cut off by Tommy.
“I don’t care! I just want to warn you, you better not hurt her.” Tommy spat chucking his cigarette on the floor.
“Bee! We’ve gotta go” he said and she nodded picking up Freddie and his toy and leaving with them.
“Bye reg!” You smiled as you walked away and he was stood there watching you all walk away.
“What was that about?” Joey nudged tommys arm and he shrugged.
“I don’t want her getting hurt.”
“Neither do I. But I think he really likes her and she really likes him. Give him a chance.” Joey said and Tommy shrugged again.
“Fine.”

Don’t leave me

………………………………….
Saturday night is my favorite night! You know why? Because I get to spend time with Joe. Joe and I have been together ever since Sophomore year. I met him when I was in eighth grade. I just recently moved to Athens and wasn’t really happy about moving. My first day of eighth grade I was so nervous. I walked into my advisory classroom and saw my fellow classmates chatting with their friend groups. The only person I saw sitting alone was Joe. Turns out he had none of his friends in that class, but he was the type of person to talk to anyone and make friends in a second, but Joe just sat alone looking at a SpongeBob comic book. Our teacher Mrs Wood welcomed me in to the class and told me to find a spot to sit so we could put on morning announcements in a few minutes. The only seat open was the one next to Joe. I walked over and sat in the seat. He didn’t even look up, he just looked over at his comic. After I put my bag on the floor and looked around the classroom I noticed Joe still hadn’t noticed someone was sitting next to him. I guess he was real deep into his comic. After a couple seconds I finally worked up the courage to say hi.
“Hi.”- you smiled
Joe looked up from his comic
“Oh, hi! Sorry I didn’t notice you there. I was deep into my comic! I’m Joe by the way,Joe burrow.”- joe smiled
“It’s ok! I’m y/n, y/n L/n!”- you smiled
“It’s nice to meet you y/n!”- joe
“It’s nice to meet you too! What are you reading that’s so good you couldn’t look up?”- you chuckle
“Oh, it’s a SpongeBob comic book! I knew it’s a little childish but don’t judge!”- joe
“Hey, I’m not judging”- you threw your hands up
“I think it’s kinda cool! I like SpongeBob too, but never really read the comics.”- you
“Really? You can look at it to if you want?”- joe
“You sure?”- you
“Yeah!”- joe
“Ok, thanks!”- you
Joe moved the book more towards me.
Ever since then we have been best friends, but we found out we both had feelings for each other the start of sophomore year we decided to start dating! It’s been amazing being joes girlfriend. He’s so lovely, loyal, funny, kind, and really cute! He just gets me and makes me laugh really hard! But ever since a couple weeks ago we have been having some little arguments, but today was the worst argument we have ever had.
“So did you?”- joe said
“Did I what, Joe?”- you said grabbing a glass of water
“Did you make a move on him?”- joe
“What? Are you crazy? No, he came on me, Joey.”- you
“Well it didn’t look like it.”- joe
“Joe, what is wrong with you? I would never do something like that. I’m so deeply in love with you it hurts and you think I would go hit on one of your friends?”- you raised your voice
“Well he was eyeing you all night and flirting with you. Then he try’s to make a move on you.”- joe raised his voice
“YEAH! And I shoved him off!”- you
I was furious that he even thought this. I know Joe has some trust issues but he really thinks I would do this to him. Never.
“I can’t believe you right now. I love you, Joe and only you. I would never go and make out with someone. I’m not a cheater Joe, it crazy that you think are thinking like that of me.”- you
I was so done with this conversation I decided to walk out. I hate having arguments. Especially if it’s with someone I love.
“Y/n, where are you going?”- joe yelled
“HOME!”- you
We decided to spend the night at joes because his parents weren’t in town for the weekend. We wanted to go to one of our friends parties then come back to his place.
“Y/n, come back!”- joe started running after you after you slammed the door and started walking
Thunder roared in the distance then just a second later it started to rain.
“Oh great.”- you said sarcastically
I stared fast walking as fast as I could in a dress and converse in the rain.
“STOP, Y/N!”- joe
He frappes my arm and pulled me towards him.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry. I wasn’t thinking in the moment, ok? I got jealous that he was flirting with you then got furious when he tried to kiss you. I took it out on you and I’m sorry. I know you will never do something like that. I shouldn’t have doubted you or accused you of something like that. You are an amazing, beautiful, smart, funny, and insanely gorgeous girlfriend. I am truly sorry. It was a shitty thing to do and again, I’m sorry.”- joe
I pulled him in for a kiss. His bleached blond hair was wet. His clothes were soaked and he was out of breath from running and talking.
“It’s ok Joe. I know you have a hard time trusting people, but you shouldn’t have thought that I would do something like that, ever! Ok?”- you
“Yeah, I’m truly sorry.”- joe said almost on the verge of tears
“It’s ok, it’s ok, I forgive you.”- you gave him a reassuring smile
He then pulled me in for a kiss.
“I love you.”- joe
“I love you too.”- you
“Let’s go inside and dry up.”- joe
“Yeah.”- you laugh
He gives me one last kiss on the forehead and we walk back.

Nishidake: Chapter 6, Part 2
Guess who's coming to dinner?
The doorbell was Luna!
Charlie: Luna! Hey, what are you doing here?
Luna: We agreed that we would move flat fam catch ups to your Monday so your work shift didn’t get in the way
Charlie: We did?
Luna: Sorry, I keep forgetting you’re not a phone person. Kaori responded that it was fine
Charlie: Well come in, I guess I better find something to cook
Luna: Where’s Kaori?
Charlie: Did she not put in the… what do you call it
Luna: Group chat
Charlie: Right, that, she’s at work. She’s an astronaut now

Luna and Charlie head inside and Charlie shows Luna their new set up. Sensing it may be a while until food is ready Clover goes and has a nap on the dog bed. Rahul and Cassandra get here only slightly late. Lavina is still refusing to babysit Mercedes, Savannah and Viola at the same time since the three don’t get along so they had to drop Viola with Uncle Alexander. Devin of course was here fashionably early and is super happy about… something. I’m going to guess she’s super happy about her look because I still am.

Charlie: But why get your nails painted if they’re just going to be skin colour?
Luna: It’s about the experience Charlie, some of us prefer pampering to peddling
Charlie: I actually can’t ride a bike
Devin: *sing song voice* I’m here! Please, please, hold your applause
Clover: *barks* Shinny
Devin: Thank you Clover, you’re too kind. Hey Char, love what the watcher has done with the place
Charlie: It was rebate day so I guess Kaori ordered some stuff
Luna: Don’t mind her, she’s on a “let’s all believe in the watcher” crusade
Devin: I just think it’ll be easier for the bambinos if we’re on the same page

Charlie: Wait, did I add that spice already?
Devin: Please tell me this is going to be good, all they had on set today was chocolate cake so I starved
Luna: Schatz! Why didn’t you eat the cake
Devin: *sighs dramatically* If you eat the cake then you get frosting on your face and have to go back to make up and Rudolphus gets mad and gives you a lecture and then you have to recentre to get back into confident “I can totally kick bugs butt” mode. The whole thing is exhausting, far easier to get your sugar from leftover toddler dessert
Luna: I knew it wasn’t Joey who raided the cupboard
Devin: I was just trying some method acting for my pirate role in case this one gets good reviews. Clover gets it, sometime you just have to steal some good food right?
Clover: *barks* Right!

Kaori: How is the pregnancy going
Cassandra: It’s going slowly. I am getting more nauseous than normal though
Kaori: Do you think that could mean a boy? Or maybe triplets?
Rahul: *sighs* Triplets would be great
Cassandra: And how would I feed three babies with two breasts
Rahul: You always get engorged easy, you’d have plenty of milk
Kaori: Engorgement sounds painful
Cassandra: It is for a bit but so long as I don’t stop pumping cold turkey I seem to survive the pain

Devin: So this is… what
Luna: Tajine. Coming from North Africa the word itself comes from Arabic and further back Ancient Greece. Although some scholars believe the word itself is of Persian origin. It’s normally cooked in special pottery with a hat type piece that keeps the moisture in
Devin: *blinks* So this is… what? Cheat tajine?
Charlie: I resent that accusation
Devin: But Char you’ve got no hat piece
Charlie: Our matching hats are enough, trust the process. It’s a simple dish, I promise, it’ll be excellent. Totally befitting your hoity toity taste buds
Devin: *fake coughs* Refined *fake cough*

Charlie: That was the worst acting I have ever seen
Devin: Grazie
Charlie: Done! Now out of my kitchen
Charlie shepherds Devin and Luna to the table where everyone grabs a plate of food and sits down to catch up. They all saw each other recently at the Villareals but there are some topics you can talk about with children around, and others that you can’t talk about.
Rahul: I mean we already have some name ideas from the last pregnancies but we’re waiting for the ultrasound to tell us how many to expect
Devin: Luna and I have news actually. We’re going to look into getting a science baby
Charlie: Yeah? I think my sister is thinking of that to, but she’s not sure how safe it is yet
Devin: Well we can’t exactly use a plain old surrogate, the papers would lampoon me. And news would be bound to get out about Luna’s postpartum being the reason she wasn’t carrying

Cassandra: It wouldn’t get out from us
Devin: Emisia would probably leak it
Luna: You say that but you know if it got out she and Max would likely commit murder
Charlie: I forgot evil runs in both your families, you two are such a match. So Devin, how’d I do
Devin: With the cheat tajine?
Kaori: Cheat tajine?
Rahul: How do you cheat tajine?
Devin: You deny it its hat. But Char I will concede, this does taste excellent
When the meal is finished Kaori clears the plates.

Cassandra: I hope you don’t mind that I didn’t finish
Charlie: Don’t worry about it, I made far too much
Kaori: You’re pregnant so you’re allowed to be weird about food
The group laughs and begins to get up and sort out heading to their own homes. Cassandra is a bit wobbly though so Rahul makes sure to check on her.
Rahul: Are you okay my darling?
Cassandra: I think it was a bit spicy for me at the moment
Rahul: If you want on the way back to Henford we could swing by the donut place with Viola
Cassandra: If we go without them the twins will sulk for days
Rahul: I’m willing to suffer their pouting to keep you well, remember, you’re meant to be eating for at least two

Rahul goes to take another look at the indoor garden and Luna checks in with Cassandra.
Luna: Will you find out the sex of this one
Cassandra: We don’t usually, we like the surprise. Whoever is in here should find no pushback from Viola for sharing a room either
Luna: I mean… were your girls really that bothered by a third kid?
Cassandra: Yes. They hated the idea of her and disliked her when she arrived. Truth be told I'm still not sure if they like her. But that doesn’t mean your twins will be mad! Please don’t change your mind on my account, I couldn’t stand the scolding from Devin
Luna: *laughs* Don’t worry, I think Alfred and Rilian would like a baby sibling, they seem more independent than your girls were
Cassandra: I think I still have bruises on my leg from Mercedes holding on so tight
The women laugh and Charlie and Kaori see everyone out. All in all, a good catch up.

Maybe a super duper fluffy moment between masked killer and S/o? Like they're laying down and they notice S/o is quiet for a second. She then takes their unmasked face and says "You're so pretty. Not sure how I got lucky to have you."
This with Ghostface, Frank, Joey Huntress and Trapper? Thank you!
I'm having a bit of trouble with this prompt, so I changed it a bit. Hope that's okay. Please enjoy.
A Reader with a mask killer s/o who wants to see their face
Ghostface, Legion (Frank), Legion (Joey), Huntress, Trapper
Ghostface
Do. Not. Touch. His. Mask.
Seriously.
Don't.
He won't even let you.
No.
Don't look at him like that.
Come on!
Ugh! Fine!
Count yourself lucky.
He's got to keep his identity hidden!
You should know that!
Only under a few conditions.
One: No one else is around.
And I mean no one but you.
Two: it's only for a second.
Three: you'll have to do something for him at a later time.
If you choose to accept, then be ready.
Cause Danny is a stunner.
Tell him he's gorgeous.
Because, deep down, he isn't the most confident in his looks.
Before he pulls his mask up, pull him in for a real kiss.
After that day, he might leave his mask off once in a while.
Only around you though.
Legion (Frank)
Even though he acts tough, he really doesn't feel that way.
Yes, his mask hides his face.
But it also shields him from the world around him.
He's experienced enough neglect and cruelty at the hand of his foster parents that he wants to hide himself.
Frank will take it off for you.
He just needs a safe space to do so.
He'd prefer if the rest of the Legion was around.
And he's only going to take it off for you when he really trusts you.
It's going to be a spur of the moment thing.
"Hey, S/O. I know you've been asking to see me with my mask on so... Here."
He'll pull it down, but he won't look you in the eye.
Find a way to show him how much this little act means to you and how much you love him.
Legion (Joey)
You want him to take off his mask?
Sure, okay.
Unlike Frank, Joey doesn't really hide behind it for anything.
Okay, he isn't very clean shaven and that's kind of embarrassing.
But other than that, who cares.
He just wears it because the rest of the Legion does.
He just kind of incorporated it into his own style and kept it.
But, yeah.
He doesn't care where you do it.
Although, keeping the other killers and survivors guessing about what he looks like adds a mysterious aura around him.
So maybe just with the other Legion around.
He's a pretty good looking guy.
Make sure to say that.
Because, if you do, he'll have it on a lot less for you.
Not to mention, kisses are just better that way.
Huntress
Has she never taken it off in front of you?
Guess not.
She'll take it off, but she doesn't want the survivors to see.
She likes to keep them scared.
The mask is the only thing she has from her mother.
So, she will take it off.
But don't expect it to leave her hands.
She has a very chiseled face with some hardened features.
But she also has pretty cute rosy cheeks.
Be sure to tell her that.
Because she'll blush and those cheeks will turn even redder.
Since Anna's mask doesn't cover her mouth, kisses are the same.
However, you can kiss her nose and forehead now!
And she loves that.
So make sure to give her plenty.
Trapper
His face?
Yeah, what about it?
You want to see it?
Why?
He doesn't find himself physically attractive and doesn't want to frighten you off.
He'll make himself seem like some monster without it on.
"I have scars and scratches all over."
"My eyes are sunken and have deep bags."
"My-"
Just shut him up.
Tell him that no matter how awful he thinks he looks, that you're always going to love him.
Make sure it's in private.
He wants the survivors and killers to be scared of him.
Or at the very least weary.
He prides himself on being a rough mysterious guy.
Albeit hesitant, Evan will remove his mask.
He does have scars and scratches.
His eyes are sunk and hollow.
But he's handsome in every way.
Tell him that.
Praise every little detail.
Let him know how much you adore him.
Kiss every inch of his face.
Then, maybe, just maybe, he'll take it off around you a bit more.

(Series) Just like the Movies

Summary: you and Joe go out on your date and it ends up being the most amazing night.
Warnings: fluff (some smut)
—————————-
September 12 2017
Y/n pov
I was getting ready I’m my bathroom for my date with Joe. I was so nervous. I kept shaking when trying to put my makeup on. But I reminded myself that it’s Joe. The one you talked to for hours and the one you feel safe with. Joe and I have been texting nonstop for the past few days. It’s been really nice. He always makes me laugh and always knows how to put a big smile on my face.
I am wearing a black skirt but not too short obviously, a white shirt, boots, and an old leather jacket. My hair was curled and my makeup was on point! After finishing my hair I got a text from Joe saying to meet him downstairs. I ran down the stairs as soon as I saw the text. The girls in my sorority were wishing me good luck as i ran down the big marble stairs. As I got out the door I saw Joe. He had a black OSU black leather jacket on with grey skinny jeans of course.
“Hey Joe!”-you
I walked down to him and gave him a hug
“Hi y/n! You look beautiful!”-joe
“Haha! Thank you! You don’t look to bad yourself!”-you
“Haha! Thanks!”-joe
Once we were done greeting each other Joe opened his car door for me. He had a very cool black jeep.
“Thank you!”-you
“Of course!”-joe
He closed the door and walked around to his side.
“So what do you want to listen to?”-joe
“Ooo! I can’t pick you choose!”-you
“Ok! I choose kid Cudi.”-joe
“A big Kid Cudi fan?”-you
“Yes! Ever since I was in middle school!”-joe
“Wow! That’s been a long time!”-you
“Yeah! I’ve always loved his music.”-joe
“That’s cool! I listen to him sometimes. I like his music!”-you
“Yeah! What do you listen to?”
“Well, I listen to Taylor Swift obviously and don’t be a hater she is actually a great singer! I also listen to drake, Tame Impala, and some Selena Gomez.”-you
“Haha! I’m not a hater trust me. But I don’t listen to her music a lot. And I love Tame Impala! I didn’t know you liked that!”-joe
“Yeah! Something about his music just makes me feel good!”-you
“Same!”-joe
Turns out me and Joe have some stuff in common. That’s a good sign! We talked for a bit more about music. By the time we were done talking we were at the theater.
“Here let me help you get out!”-joe
He came around to my side,Opened the door for me and put out his hand. Such a gentleman!
“Thank you Joey!”-you
“Of course! And I don’t think I’ve ever been called Joey before by anyone else rather than my mom!”-joe
“Oh! I don’t have to call you that if you don’t want me to.”-you
“No! I like it!”-joe
“Oh haha, ok!”-you
As we found our seats in the theater I got the candy out as Joe had his popcorn in hand. We were in a good row. Not to upfront.
“ So, you excited to see your favorite movie?”-you
“Yes! I’m also happy you are here to watch it with me!”-joe
“Aww! I’m happy I’m here to watch it with you to!”-you
Joe looks at me and I swear I got so many butterflies at that moment. His beautiful eyes staring into my soul. I smiled and turned my head back to the screen but I could still feel joes eyes on me.
After the movie started I found my hand brushing past joes a little too much. The movie was going good and I liked it but I couldn’t focus with joes hand brushing past mine. After a few more minutes I felt joes hand move closer to mine. I inched my had a little closer and BOOM! Fireworks just exploded! Mine and joes hand were locked together. Joe and I both smiled as we watched the movie on that moment. I couldn’t believe it! I was holding hands with Mr QB himself.
————-
Joes POV
I got into my car and drove to y/n’s house. I was so nervous. She is the only girl I ever have had strong feelings about and the only girl I ever talked to my parents about. I couldn’t stop thinking about her. I knew I wanted to make her mine. But I get it takes time and I want to respect her and her choices to. I think it’s going pretty well so far because I’m taking her out on a date.
As I was driving thinking about seeing y/n I got a phone call from my mom.
“Hi mom!”-joe
“Hey hon!”-Robin
“So,are you nervous?”-robin
“A little bit. But I know it will be a perfect night! She makes me so happy and I’m honestly really excited to see her tonight.”-joe
“Awww Joe! It will be a great night! From the way I hear you talk about her I know she is an amazing girl and will make you happy. Just don’t mess up Joey!”-Robin
“I won’t mess up mom! I promise!”-joe
“Good! We’ll have fun sweetie! Not to much fun!”-robin
“MOM!”- joe
“Haha! I’m kidding! I love you and have a great night!”-Robin
“I will mom. Love you!”-joe
I ended the call and a few minutes later I was at y/n’s. She lives in a sorority so the house is pretty huge. I texted y/n that I was outside and before I knew it she was walking to my car looking so effortlessly beautiful.
“Hey Joe!”-Y/n
“Hi y/n! You look beautiful!”-joe
I opened the car door for her and went to my side of the car. As we were driving we were talking about music. She has a wide range of music taste I will say. But it fits her personality well. I feel like music kinda makes up who a person is. She listens to music that creates her personality. Funny, sweet, bubbly, kind, and happy. I like that!
Once in the theater y/n got some candy and I got some popcorn.
“ So, you excited to see your favorite movie?”-y/n
“Yes! I’m also happy you are here to watch it with me!”-joe
It’s true. I was so happy that y/n was here with me and out on this date.
I looked up at her and I swear so many butterflies swarmed my stomach. My god she is beautiful.
As we were watching the movie my hand kept inching closer to hers and then our fingers locked and BOOM! Fireworks exploded!
———————
After the movie
Y/n POV
“That was awesome! Thank you for taking me to see it!”-you
“Of course! I’m glad you liked it!”-joe
We were walking back to the car still hand in hand. As we got in the car Joe turned back on the music and I laughed as he drummed his fingers on the steering wheel. He turned to me and smiled then laughed.
“So, I was thinking only if you want we can go back to my place! Or I can bring you straight home.”-joe
I looked at him in shock! Did he just ask me to come to his place! Of course I didn’t really show I was in shock on my face but I juts smiled because I was also so excited!
“Yeah! We can go back to your place!”-you
“Cool! My friends aren’t home btw. They are at some weird all night weekend party thing.”-joe
“Haha ok, and what kind of party is that! They are going to be whipped on Monday!”-you
“I know! I told they it wasn’t a good idea but whatever.”-you
I knew some of his friends because some of my friends are friends with them. That’s kinda how I knew Joe.
“Here we are!”-joe
“Nice place you have here!”-you
“Thanks!”-joe
It was surprisingly clean once I walked through the door and took off my shoes.
“Do you want a drink?”-joe
“Sure! Soda please!”-you
“Coming up!”-joe
I was walking around admiring what they have. There was some family pictures and some pictures of Joe and his friends. There was a OSU banner and a leather couch. A lot of rooms and a narrow kitchen.
“Here you go!”-joe
“Thx!”-you
I took a sip and walked into the hallway.
“Is this your room?”-you
“Yeah! You can go in!”-joe
Joe followed me in.
“Wow burrow! Very clean!”-you
“Thanks! Got to keep it tidy!”-joe
I walked over to his desk where he had a picture of his family as he sat on his bed.
“Is this your family?”-you
“Yeah!”-joe
“Aww!”-you
Joe laughed and kept his eyes on me. I leaned against the desk and looked at him.
“So what do you want to do?”-you
“We could study!”-joe
“Haha! yeah right!”-you said sarcastically
Joe got up and was inches away from my face
“We could!”-joe
“Yeah, we could.”-you
You know how boys eyes smile before they kiss you? Well that’s what Joe was doing. His eyes looking into mine sparkling. And then before I knew it his lips were on mine. I kissed him back more passionately. We moved from leaning on the desk to the twin bed that surprisingly could fit two.
I fell onto the bed and Joe was on top of me smiling then leaning down for a kiss. He then moved to my neck and pulled off my shirt as I did the same to him. And before we knew it we were both nude.
“Are you good?”-joe
“Yeah!”-you
“You?”-you
“Perfect!”-joe
Joe was on top of me placing soft kisses on my neck. After a few minutes he rolled over to his side. We both breathed heavily. I looked over at him as he looked over at me and we both laughed so hard!
“Wow!”-you
“Yeah! Wow!”-joe
I moved my head onto his chest and placed my hand over his shoulder.
“What time is it?”-you
Joe rolled over to his nightstand with one of his arms still around me reaching for his phone.
“1:30am.”-joe
“Maybe I should get going.”-you
I moved my head off his chest and as I was about to pull the sheet off to get out Joe stopped me.
“Don’t go! Stay! It’s the weekend and my friends aren’t here and I bet your friends are out too and probably not expecting you back knowing them.” -Joe gave a smirk
“Ok! I will stay then.”-you
“Yay!”-joe
I laughed and moved back into his embrace.
“I had a great time tonight Joe!”-you
“Good! I’m glad!”-joe
“Hey! Maybe tomorrow you can teach me physics!”-you
“Haha ok, will do!”-joe
“Yay!”-you
Joe and I both laughed and moved into each other’s embrace even more.
“Good night Joe!”-you
I gave him a kiss on the check and put my head back on his chest.
“Good night y/n”-joe
He placed a kiss on my head and the night slipped away as I was embraced in joes arms.

Turkey Time!
You watched with a soft smile as you watched JJ kick his soccer ball around Central Park. Steve was working today so you and JJ were having a day out together. You had already visited Central Park Zoo and now were just having a kick about before heading home.
“Are you sure we don’t need a larger Turkey?” Steve asks over the phone, he was planning on getting the last of the Thanksgiving shopping on his way home.
“Yes I’m sure, it’s just the three of us this year,” you tell him as you watch JJ.
“Thor’s not coming?”
“No he’s still on his health kick so he doesn’t want to give into temptation, so it’s just you, me and JJ as Bucky is going to Sam’s” you confirm “And JJ’s not gonna eat much and I don’t want to be eating leftovers for the next month”
Steve let out another long sigh “But… we do eat more than the average person” he points out.
“Alright Joey Tribbiani, if you think you can eat a larger turkey, you get a larger turkey but I won’t be helping” you state.
Steve lets out a small chuckle “alright fine, smaller turkey it is, but we’re still having pie right?”
“Yes I’m still gonna make a pie” you chuckle, looking back over at JJ you watch him just as he kicks the soccer ball so far that he hits a teen walking through the park “Sorry Steve I gotta go, text me if you have any more questions,” you say hanging up the phone.
You quickly jog over to JJ and the teen were now talking “hey i’m sorry, he’s got a pretty strong kick” you apologise to the teen, running your hand through JJ’s hair.
“No, no it's okay” the teen says with an awkward smile “You could go pro with a kick like that” he continues smiling down at JJ.
“Wanna play with me?” JJ asks hopefully.
“Oh, I’m sure that um-” you say realising you didn’t know the teen’s name.
“Peter, Peter Parker” the teen coughs shuffling from foot to foot.
“I’m sure Peter has to get on a be somewhere JJ” you continue.
“Oh,” JJ says with a disappointed pout.
“Hey no it’s okay, I’m sure I can spare a few minutes” Peter smiles.
“Are you sure, it’s okay if you have to be somewhere” you reassure him.
“I don’t” Peter says with a smile that almost looks sad.
You study him for a moment before nodding “Okay yeah sure, sounds good, I’m just gonna call my husband back… he’s a bit lost with the Thanksgiving shopping” you say making Peter chuckle.
“Sure, don’t worry I got him Mrs Rogers,” Peter says making you startle slightly since you hadn’t introduced yourself “Sorry, I- I uh just recognised you from the news, i’m not some criminal or anything just… just a kid from queens” peter quickly rambles.
The sudden spike of nervous energy leaves your body, you weren’t sure why but you felt like you could completely trust this kid like you’d known him for years “Okay, thank you” you smile softly.
For the next fifteen minutes you watched as JJ and Peter kicked the ball around together, it was like they were old friends or even family the way they seemed so familiar with each other. You wondered what it was that caused adults to lose that innocence.
Far sooner than JJ wanted it was time to head home “Thanks for sticking around and playing with JJ” you smile thanking Peter.
“It’s nothing enjoy your holidays” Peter smiles stuffing his hands in his pockets.
“You too, got much planned?” you ask him.
“Oh uh no, it’s just me, my aunt died a couple of weeks back” Peter explains, his face turning sullen as he quickly sniffles.
“Oh I’m so sorry” you sigh sympathetically.
“I- I’m okay” Peter says but you could tell he was lying “I’ll uh- let you get on, thank you… for today” he says taking a couple steps back before turning.
You watch as he goes, feeling a sudden feeling in your gut that it was just wrong to let his kid just go “Hey Peter” you call out making him stop “It’s just gonna be us this Thanksgiving and I already know Steve it gonna buy more food than we need so um if you’re looking for somewhere to go… you can have thanksgiving with us?” you suggest.
Peter looks back at you completely shocked “But… but you don’t know me” he points out.
“I know… but I have a pretty accurate gut feeling and I have a really good feeling about you and I really don’t like the idea of you being alone on Thanksgiving” you explain, you could see Peter hesitating so you quickly scribble out your address on a piece of scrap paper “just consider it okay,” you say passing him the note.
“I uh will thank you,” Peter says with a hesitant smile.
“Cool, well maybe I’ll see you later this week” you smile “C’mon JJ let's head home”
“Bye Peter!” JJ calls out waving his hand wildly.
“Bye JJ” Peter smiles waving back.
Even though it was just the three of you Thanksgiving was still pretty hectic. Thankfully JJ was pretty distracted playing with Scout and since Steve’s cooking abilities had improved it wasn’t just you in the kitchen.
Soon enough it got to a point where everything was sorted and you were just waiting for everything to finish cooking, allowing you and Steve to collapse onto the couch. You let out a heavy sigh as you checked the clock trying not to feel disappointed that Peter hadn’t shown up.
“Hey,” Steve says softly, reaching out to take your hand “There’s still time” he reassures you.
You look over to give him a gentle smile, when you told Steve that you’d invited a someone who was basically a stranger to Thanksgiving he wasn’t impressed. The two of you argued about it for most of the evening, you understood Steve’s concerns but you just couldn’t explain the reason why you couldn’t just let this kid be alone.
“I know… I just hate the idea of him being alone so soon after losing his only family” you sigh “Nobody should be alone on Thanksgiving”
Steve hums in agreement, wrapping his arm around your shoulder and pulling you into his side so he could kiss the side of your head “More turkey for me” he mutters.
“Steve” you snort shaking your head at him, slapping his chest.
“I know, I know I’m sorry” He chuckles kissing your temple once more.
You let out another long sigh “We should probably finish setting the table” you say standing back up from the couch.
“Sure, we’ll set it for four… just in case” Steve says as he follows earning a warm smile from you.
“Thank you” you whisper leaning up to press a kiss to his lips.
You were about to step away when you heard someone knock on the door, a wide smile breaks out on your face before rushing to the door. Steve chuckled as he watched you go, remaining by the door to the living room while you continued to the door.
Taking a deep breath to calm yourself before you open the door, smiling when you saw it was Peter holding a small bouquet of fall-coloured flowers “Hey, I knew I should bring something but I’m not great at cooking or old enough to buy alcohol so” Peter rambles as he holds up the flowers.
“They’re great thank you Peter” you smile as you let him inside “I’m glad you decided to come”
“I- I’m sorry I’m late… I just… I-” Peter stutters.
“Peter it’s okay, I understand, you’re just in time” you smile softly as you lead him through the house “This is Steve” you say introducing Peter to Steve.
“It’s an honour to meet you sir” Peter says holding out his hand towards Steve.
“Call me Steve” Steve smiles as he shakes Peter’s hand.
“Steve” Peter repeats with a nervous chuckle as the three of you continue walking into the kitchen “Is there anything you could do to help?”
“Uh, why don’t you help Steve set the table? Those flowers would be lovely in the centre” you suggest with a smile.
“Yeah sure no problem” Peter smiles before following Steve into the dining room.
Steve gives you a look to say he knew exactly what you were doing and you just wanted them a chance to get to know each other but that wasn’t going to stop you.
Your plan seemed to work though as a few minutes later the two of them returned to the kitchen laughing and talking like they were old friends “Hey Pete do you want a drink?” Steve asks walking to the fridge and pulling out two beer bottles.
“Oh um I’m only 17,” Peter says shaking his head.
“That’s alright, I won’t tell” Steve winks as he pops the tops and passes Peter a bottle “You’ll be off to college soon and we all know what college kids get up to”
“Oh I won’t be going to college,” Peter says as he takes a small sip of his beer.
“Really? You seem like a smart kid” you say your brows furrowing in concern.
“Thanks,” Peter says with a small smile “but with everything that happened, I ended up having to drop out of high school but I’m working to get my GED” he explains “Plus there are a few things keeping me in New York”
“Okay… well if you ever consider university, I’m a professor at NYU, I might be able to help” you offer.
“Thank you… I’ll let you know” Peter smiles.
“Peter! JJ shouts as he enters the kitchen, scout in tow “You came!” he smiles running over to greet Peter with a hug.
“Yeah sorry I’m late pal, why don’t you show me how much better your soccer is” Peter suggests bending down to be at eye level with JJ.
“Yes! C’mon!” JJ beams grabbing Peter's hand and dragging him outside.
You smile as you watch them go before turning back to Steve “alright you can say it” he sighs knowingly.
“I told you so” You grin victoriously as you walk over and wrap your arms around his waist.
“He’s a good kid” Steve agrees as he presses a kiss to the top of your head “You did good inviting him”
“It’s what Thanksgiving is about right?” you smile.
“Exactly” Steve smiles cupping your cheek and kissing you deeply “Maybe he can babysit so we can have some time alone” he smirks.
“Give Bucky a break” you smirk “Sounds like a good plan”

Shameless, Chapter 11
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings: small instances of violence/siblings fighting, mentions of cheating/infidelity.
“Hey, thanks for coming with us Sofia!” Ian smiled.
“Yeah, really sucks that dad wasn’t able to come…or any of my brothers…they weren’t gonna release Mickey without an adult present.” Mandy agreed.
“I got you, Mandy.” You smiled softly, wrapping an arm around her, “you’re my little brother’s girlfriend…practically family…”
Ian gave you a look and you couldn’t help but laugh.
You knew why he’d shown up.
You knew that he’d been screwing Mickey on the down low.
“Here he comes,” Mandy smiled as they opened the back door and he was released, “you know, you didn’t have to come with us, Ian…”
“Bad neighborhood!” Ian said quickly, barely looking at the two of you as he kept his gaze focused on Mickey, “need to make sure that you guys are safe.”
“Yeah, we live in a bad neighborhood!” Mandy scoffed.
“Yeah, but we’re related to the bad people in our neighborhood,” Ian argued, “you guys aren’t related to people here…”
“What the hell is the Gallagher family reunion doing here?”
“Dad, Joey, and nearly everyone else was busy…so Sofia offered to be the person over eighteen to get you out…and Ian-“
“Hey!”
“He thought I might need protection!” Mandy laughed.
“Oh yeah?” Mickey asked as he reached out and pulled Mandy into a hug, “you may think that you know my sister. But you don’t know my sister til you fought my sister! She’s protecting your ass!”
“You smell like barbeque sauce…”
Mickey reached out and pinched her tits, twisting her nipples through her bra. She screamed and grabbed his arms, fighting him off, “OH, OW! What did dad tell you?”
“Oh, ow! Fuck-Fuck the police!”
“No titty twisters now that I’m a C cup!” she growled, pushing her brother away from herself.
“C cup? Bitch you wish!” Mickey scoffed. He turned, looking to the guards, “HEY! Fuck you! Fuck you! And especially fuck you!”
“Alright, come on kid, before they lock you back up!” you teased as Mandy and Ian started pulling him away from the doors. He wrapped an arm around Mandy’s shoulders and tried to wrap one around Mickey’s, but he pushed him away from them.
“You uh-knocked up pretty good…” he commented dryly as he looked back at you, “still with the cop, or is that a little Milkovich taking up rent space in there?”
“It’s the cops,” Mandy laughed, “but they’ve been splits Ville since he tried to break up Fiona and her boyfriend.”
“Thought they did break up?”
“They did…and Colin’s been at our house every other day with flowers or otherwise trying to win Sofia back.”
“He knows the little crotch goblin isn’t his?”
“Trust me, Mickey…Colin knows that my child belongs to Tony.”
“We could still raise him as a Milkovich if you and the cop don’t get back together though,” he shrugged, “sure dad would love to finally have a grandkid…and you know that Colin would raise the bastard like it was his own.”
“Gee, Mick…thanks for the thoughts…”
“Just saying,” he shrugged, “any of you fuckers got a light? No one put any money on my books, and I’d kill for a smoke!”
“I don’t right now, but I could drop a carton off after I get done at my shift at the club…Col was saying he wanted to see me…”
“You’re not coming home?” Ian asked.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be home in time to make sure Debbie’s daycare is good…was just gonna stop off at Chez Milkovich first.”
“Sounds good,” Mickey agreed, “I’ll tell Colin he’ll get half the carton…”
“What the hell was that?”
“Oh, you saw the little slut and her grandpa tipping out sis big time too?”
“Oh, I saw little slut just kiss my sister,” you answered as you placed a drink on the bar, “six fifty.”
The guy tossed a ten on the bar and told you to keep the change as he walked off and was quickly replaced by another one.
“That a thing?” you asked.
“What, Fiona going out with them all the time?”
“Judging by that tone, I’m going to assume that it is,” you smirked, but the smirk was quickly replaced by a frown, “but no…was talking about her kissing that chick.”
“She does it all the time.”
A shiver ran down your spine, “damn…maybe I have been missing out on what’s going down…Do you think I’ve been spending too much time at the Milkovich’s?”
“Milkovich, or with your husband?”
You frowned, “I-It was only once, V-“
“Girl, he’s your husband. You should be spending more time at the house next door than the one a few blocks down.”
“V I don’t need a speech on a soap box.”
“All I’m saying, is that you can’t just let people into your life when it suits you Sofia,” she sighed as she put a hand on the small of your back, “Tony was good for you…sure, he called the cops on Steve…and he got him to give him the house…but he did it because he knows the types of guys Fiona lets in, and he was trying to protect you guys…I mean, you remember the guy with the anger issues…and the guy who started trying to deal drugs out of your house when you were at school…and the guy that-“
“I get it,” you frowned, cutting her off with a shake of your head, “but it-he could have talked to me about it instead of going right on after Steve…instead of calling the cops on Ian and Lip.”
“Sweetie, he thought he was doing what was right…” she offered, “and anyways…he said he kicked out that rub and tugger after your conversation…you still have your copy of the key…fuck the Milkovich kid…go get your husband back…”
“Yeah…you’re right, V…” you smiled, “thanks.”
Your brow quirked, but you didn’t say anything as you made your way past Fiona, who was sleeping on the couch, and into the kitchen.
“Quiz me!” Ian encouraged.
You messed with Lip’s hair as you passed, and opened the fridge to start breakfast, “who needs food still?”
“Me!” Carl called.
“Well, what do you want, kid?”
“Cereal?”
You nodded, tossing him the bag, before looking at your other brothers.
“We both do!” Ian admitted.
“Uh, if A equals B, then B equals A!”
“Symmetric!”
“He may as well get a windshield and call it a car!” Lip groaned.
“It’s just a phase.”
“What are you guys talking about.”
“She hasn’t even slept with him yet!” Lip admitted.
“He’s talking about Karen.”
“Ugh,” you groaned, “I’ve never liked her. You could do so much better than her, Lip…”
“Maybe he’s a eunuch!” Lip said, ignoring your comment.
“Maybe she just likes him?” Ian shrugged.
“Debbie, what do you and Liam want for breakfast.
“Whatever?” Debbie shrugged.
“Lip, why are you sleeping in mine and Fi Fi’s bed?” Fiona asked as she came into the kitchen.
“Lip was sleeping in our bed?” you asked, “what’s wrong with your room?”
“Ask her!” Lip frowned, pointing at Debbie.
“I moved Liam!” she called, coming towards you so that she could reach into the fridge, “I can’t be in the same room where Liam is constantly masturbating.”
“It’s not masturbating if nothing comes out!”
“According to whom?” Fiona asked.
“My friend Jack O’ Donnel.”
“Not true!” Debbie claimed, with a shake of her head.
“It’s kind of true!”
“Not legally true!” Ian argued.
“So, Liam could be arrested for masturbating?”
“What?” Fiona asked, “no. Listen up!”
“What is the age where it’s inappropriate to arouse yourself in front of others?” Lip asked, “even if nothing comes out.”
“Two years old!”
“Guys, we’re not having this conversation,” you argued, playfully slapping Lip upside the head, “Lip, keep quizzing Ian. Carl, masturbating is still masturbating even if nothing comes out, regardless of age….Fi…we have to do something if it’s becoming a problem…maybe move Lip into Frank’s room?”
“Unfortunately, Frank has rented out his room to a pregnant woman!” Fiona groaned as she slipped a new shirt over her head and pointed upstairs.
“What?” you asked.
“I told them!” Debbie announced.
“You let her in last night?” you asked.
Debbie shrugged, “she had a key! Besides, she’s from China. They kill extra babies there.”
“Liam needs to go back in with you!” Fiona frowned.
“WHAT NO!” Debbie screeched, before looking to you, “Fi Fi, tell her that Liam can’t be back in with me.”
“Debbie-“
“Debs, that’s not fair,” you tried, “maybe we switch with the boys. Have the three of us in the boy’s room and the boys split off? Carl and Liam in one and Ian and Li-“
What’s done is done!” she yelled, looking between you and your sister. She stormed off leaving you with your sister.
“Okay…for now, Liam’s in the boy’s room!” Fiona announced.
“What?”
“SERIOUSLY?” Lip asked.
“Four guys in one room!”
“Isn’t that a health violation?” Ian asked.
“Why can’t we do what Sofia said?” Carl asked, “you three in our room and then Lip and Ian in yours and me and Liam in Debbies?”
“We don’t have money for anymore beds, and I can promise you that Debs won’t sleep on the top bunk and Sofia won’t be able to jump up there with as pregnant as she is.”
“Well, we have to figure something out!” you tried, “Fi…there’s not enough room in there for them…maybe we push the chick out that Frank rented his room to?”
“We’ll find Frank and figure it out, but until then, four to the room!”
There was a cough, and the kitchen went silent as the woman that Frank had rented his room to came down the stairs. Fiona left the kitchen in a huff, and you put a hand on Lip’s shoulder before sliding around and kissing Ian’s temple, “We’ll get him here and figure it out…I promise guys…it won’t stay this way.”
“Promise!”
“Of course!” you smiled, “now come on…you gotta work at Kash and Grab, and Lip…you said you and Kev need extra hands with the ice cream truck today?”
“Yeah…”
“Fiona…you got the daycare?” you asked as you followed your two brothers outside to where Kev was eagerly honking the horn for the ice cream truck.
You stopped though, your heart aching, when also coming to the bottom of the steps, to the door right beside yours was your husband.
“Sofia-“
You couldn’t stop the butterflies that rose in your stomach at the thought of it.
V had convinced you that maybe it was best to give Tony another shot. After all, he was trying to do what was best for your family. He didn’t have any ill intentions with it, other than to create some distance between Fiona and Steve.
When he fucked up and realized that Lip and Ian were the ones that got arrested, he’d done everything in his power to make sure they walked…Steve just happened to give him the house after the fact, thinking that was the main factor in keeping them out of jail.
And then last month when the two of you hooked up, and he admitted that he’d kicked out the Laotian girl…
He did care.
“Tony?” you asked softly as you opened the door to the house.
You didn’t get a response from him.
But you did hear music coming from upstairs.
Closing the door behind yourself, you pushed upstairs. The lights were off in the master, and the door to the nursery was closed, but you saw lights on in one of the other rooms, on the far side of the hall.
“Tony?” you tried again.
A woman moaned in response.
Your heart broke.
But that didn’t stop you from stomping down the hall and barging in only to see your husband balls deep in another woman.
“FUCKING SERIOUSLY?”
“Sof-“
“Go fuck yourself, Tony. I’m done!” you spat, throwing your wedding ring at the ground, “I want a divorce!”
“Go fuck yourself, Tony….I don’t want to hear it.”
“Sofia…wait…wait, would you please jus-“
He stopped speaking when you whipped around, and slapping him hard across the face, “don’t you fucking touch me, Tony.”
“I-I deserved that.”
“You said you were done!” you spat, “you said you kicked them out…you-“
“I did…but then-“
“Then what?” you growled, “what happened Tony?”
“You didn’t come back!” he answered, “I-I kicked her out. I got rid of her. But then you didn’t come home. You just kept staying over there! To the fucking Milkovich house. Hell, I arrested one of his brothers the other week and he admitted that you were fucking Colin again. Wh-what did you expect me to do, Sofia? Wait forever?”
“I didn’t expect you to stick your dick in another woman while I made sure my family was okay, Tony!”
“You weren’t making sure your family was okay, you were being a crazy bitch!” he growled, “you were going out and fucking another man while I sulked in our home.”
“YOU FUCKED ANOTHER WOMAN FIRST!” you screamed in his face, “YOU CHEATED ON ME. YOU TRIED TO GET MY LITTLE BROTHERS LOCKED UP! YOU FUCKED UP FIRST, TONY!”
“I’m sorry,” he tried, his head shaking, “I’m sorry, Sofia…just please...”
You looked down to see him holding your wedding ring in his hands, “what the fuck is this, Tony?”
“Please don’t leave me, Sofia…”

JEROME VOMIT FETISH
Jerome enters Matt's office, his face pale and looking like he's about to vomit any second.
"Matt, sorry to interrupt, but where's the bathroom?" Jerome asks, as he takes a mental note of who all is in the room.
Matt points to the door on his right. "It's right over there, Jerome. You okay?"
"I don't know, man," Jerome says, taking a step back. "I think I'm gonna hurl."
"Go ahead, Jerome. If you need to puke, just do it in front of us. We won't judge," Matt says reassuringly, but Isra looks at him with disgust.
Knowing he has support in Matt, Jerome comes up with a plan and swiftly leaves the boardroom.
"What the hell, Matt? That's disgusting," Isra says, wrinkling her nose.
"What? I'm just being supportive," Matt says defensively. "Jerome's a good guy, and he's always been there for us."
Isra rolls her eyes. "This is getting ridiculous. First sensory nests, now vomit. What's next, free seeing eye dogs for anyone who wants one? Get real.”
"Hey, sensory nests are not ridiculous," Matt says, getting defensive again. "They serve a purpose, and they're important for people with certain conditions."
Just then, Jerome bursts back into the room, looking even more distressed than before.
“I can’t make it to the bathroom," he says, his face pale. "I’m about to blow."
Joey, Matt, Isra, and Evelyn all watched as Jerome made his way to a nearby trash can, breathing heavily as he did so.
He hunched over the bin, his body wracked with dry heaves.
"Go on, Jerome," Joey said, "Let it all out."
Matt nodded in agreement. "We don't judge here. If this is what you need to do, we're here for you."
Isra looked uncomfortable, but she nodded her head as well. "Yeah, man. Do your thing."
Evelyn remained silent, her eyes locked on Jerome. A fury burning within her. She had always known that there was something different about him, something that set him apart from the others. Looking at him now, she saw a gleam in his eyes. Could it be that he was getting pleasure from having a crowd watch him get sick? She knew he was different, but she never suspected that he could be aroused by his own vomit.
Just then, Jerome became violently ill and started to throw up in front of everybody. His vomit covered his clothes and it splashed across Matt’s desk. Matt and Joey gave supportive smiles, while Isra and Evelyn recoiled in disgust.
Jerome couldn’t be happier.
He took a deep breath and straightened up, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, trying to conceal his grin.
"Thanks, guys," he said, "That really helped. I’ll never forget this night. Trust me.”
Joey patted him on the back. "Anytime, buddy."
Matt turned his attention back to the blueprints in front of him. "So, let's get back to business, shall we? I believe Isra was comparing sensory nests to concentration camps?”
Isra nodded, but Evelyn spoke up. "Wait a minute. What just happened here? We can't just ignore what we just saw."
Joey looked at her, puzzled. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, we just watched Jerome happily vomit into a trash can, and we're acting like it's no big deal. Why was he so eager to get sick in front of an audience?”
Matt shrugged. "It's not a big deal. It's just Jerome being Jerome."
Evelyn shook her head.
Isra rolled her eyes.
Jerome looks mortified at the suggestion and his face turns a deep shade of red.
He stumbles backwards, tripping over a chair and knocking over a stack of Anti Nest propaganda as he does so.
“No, no, no!” he stammers, “That’s not true at all! I’m not some kind of pervert! I just fantasize about vomiting on people. Surely they would feel badly for me, as I’m the one who is sick. They’d probably insist on cleaning themselves up, even though that takes away from my fantasy. If you consider that to be a fetish of some sort, knock yourself out. I’ll be over here with the rest of the evolved portion of mankind.”
Evelyn is unconvinced, and her eyes narrow as she glares at him. “Oh really?” she retorts, “Then why did you seem to get aroused when you got sick?”
Joey steps forward, trying to diffuse the situation.
“Come on guys,” he says, “Let’s not make a big deal out of this.”
But it’s too late. Evelyn is already on a roll.
“I knew there was something weird about you,” she hisses at Jerome.
“You always act like you’re better than everyone else, but really you’re just a freak!”
Jerome’s face contorts in anger.
“How dare you!” he yells back, “You think you’re so perfect, but you’re just a shallow, judgmental bitch!”
The room falls silent as everyone turns to look at Jerome in shock.
Even Isra, who has been quiet up until this point, seems taken aback.
Evelyn is seething with rage and begins to make stimming noises, a desperate attempt to collect herself. After all, she is still intent on fighting with Isra for her right to have her sensory nests. She needs to be sharp.
“I can’t believe you just said that,” she snaps, “You know what? You’re right. I am shallow. I’m shallow because I care about things like the beauty of nature and the artistry of nest building. But you know what’s really shallow? And, quite frankly, extremely disturbing? Getting off on vomit!”
Jerome looks like he’s about to explode.
“You don’t know anything about me,” he spits, “You don’t know what it’s like to be me.”
He anxiously licks the corners of his mouth, hoping there is at least some residual vomit for him to ingest. That residual vomit would not be found. He had wiped his face too well. “Damn,” he thought to himself.
He began to spiral at the prospect of not having any vomit on hand.
Evelyn notices what Jerome is doing, and what he is looking for. Her voice rises to a fever pitch. “Thank God for that! I don’t want to know what it’s like to be you!” she screams, “You’re disgusting!”

In the Belly of the Giant (39/39)
Click here to start from the beginning
Chapter 39
Joey realized that, eventually, he would have to go back to work. He hated the idea of leaving Eren alone and unprotected. He would let her stay with her father, but Milton had gone back to his regular schedule of work at the boarding school. Millie, like Eren, was human, so she wouldn’t be able to protect her from a giant. He was stuck.
Eren was beginning to grow more comfortable with being inside Joey’s mouth, with practice. Her panic attacks had subsided. Even so, she didn’t know how she would fare with giant clients whom, unlike Joey, she didn’t know or trust. Joey doubted she’d be able to go back to work at the dental clinic anytime soon. Eren was a brave, strong woman, but she still had her limits. She was making progress, but he didn’t know if they’d be able to build her back up to a functional level.
Despite their struggles, life carried on. Joey was worried, at their snail’s pace, life would leave them behind in the dust. He was becoming increasingly concerned with Eren. She couldn’t remain holed up in their apartment forever, unable to experience the joys of life and the outside world. He was scared he wouldn’t be able to protect her. He thought to himself, with a lump in his throat, that the best thing for her might be for him to let her go. He loathed the thought, but he knew Eren would be better off on the human side of the wall, with people her own size, rather than with giants who could potentially hurt her.
Joey, naturally, was reluctant to broach the topic with Eren. She was still recovering, and so fragile. He didn’t want to let her go. He wanted to hold on to her forever. Giving her up would be devastating for him, but he needed to do the right thing for Eren. Just as he was about to talk to her, his phone rang. He had gotten a new phone after Trent smashed his old one. He sighed at the obnoxious interruption and answered the phone. “Hello?”
“Hey there, Joey! It’s Dr. Rajak, remember me?”
“Oh yeah, of course!” Joey answered, surprised. He hadn’t heard from the doctor since the night the police used him as bait. “Um... what’s up?”
“Hey, so, I heard through the grapevine about these ‘human pills’ that those criminals were using and I was wondering if you could get me some. For... um... you know... medical purposes, of course. I’m a doctor, after all. I wanted to try them out. For research. Yeah. Do you think you could hook me up?”
Joey raised his eyebrows, but answered the doctor’s question. “Well, I don’t have any personally, but I know the police seized some in the raid. I can look into it for you, if you’d like. I owe you that much for your pivotal role in taking down that criminal organization.”
“Ah, thanks Joey! You’re a real pal! Keep me posted.” The doctor hung up.
“Huh,” Joey said to himself. That doctor was a bit of a weird guy.
“What was that about, sweetie?” Eren asked Joey from down in his lap. Joey wrapped his fingers around her and brought her up to his giant lips, giving her a soft kiss.
“Oh, nothing important, love. Nothing at all,” he replied sweetly. After a moment, and a deep breath, he said, “Eren, I need to talk to you about something.”
“What is it, Joey?” Eren asked him, hugging his fingers.
Joey exhaled. “Eren, I’ve been thinking. I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to be on the giant side of the wall. It’s not safe.”
“W-what?” Eren stuttered.
“I love you, but I can’t stand the thought of any harm coming to you. Maybe… this whole thing was a bad idea. You could go back to live on the human side and be safe,” he continued. He felt like his heart was being ripped out of his chest as he spoke, but he had to say it.
“No!” Eren exclaimed with force. “Why would you even suggest that, Joey? Everyone I love—you, my father—is on this side! I wouldn’t give my family up for anything!”
“But, Eren—I wasn’t able to protect you-”
“That doesn’t matter, Joey! You’re everything to me, don’t you understand that?! I went through pure hell, but I’d do it again to be with you! I knew the risks when I decided to stay. Even knowing what I know now, I’d make that same decision again in a heartbeat!”
“R-really?” Joey asked, flabbergasted.
“Absolutely!” Eren shouted, with conviction. She stared at him intensely, full of emotion. Joey felt a strong tug on his heartstrings as he looked down on his vivacious, petite little girlfriend. He loved her so much.
“Wow… you’re crazy!” Joey laughed. “If that’s really how you feel… hold on a second…” He set Eren down on the coffee table and left to grab something. Eren stood there, puzzled. Joey hurried back, squishing something small between the tips of his giant fingers.
“This wasn’t really how I imagined it in my head, but that’s okay,” Joey said. Eren was clueless as to what he meant. Joey got down on one knee, so he was closer to Eren’s level, although he still towered over her with his tremendous stature. He fumbled with the thing in his hand until he managed to open it with his nail. He offered to Eren a human-sized, velvet box. Eren looked inside and was shocked to see a sparkling diamond ring.
“Eren… will you marry me?”
Eren covered her mouth with her hands and started to tear up. “Yes! Yes, Joey! Of course!” She jumped into his hand. He swept her up in his palm, brought her up to his face, and passionately kissed her. She melted under his touch.
“I love you so much, Joey,” Eren said.
“I love you too, Eren,” Joey replied.
The couple didn’t know what the future had in store for them. They didn’t know if they could overcome all the challenges in their path. They knew one thing for certain, however: As long as they had each other, everything would be fine.
Author's Note: I'm currently working on a crossover story that will feature these characters and characters from my other stories, called "The Half-Blood Giant." Hopefully I will be able to start posting chapters soon, once I finish posting my other stories on Tumblr (for now, it can be found on Wattpad). Stay tuned!

Don't Break My Heart Ricky
Part Two of the Hey Ricky Series Pairing: Ricky Hauk x Reader Word count: 3070 Warnings: Violence Summary: It's time for the best man's speech, what memories will Joey ignite? Part One | Part Three | Part Four | Masterlist | Ao3
Ricky leaned over and kissed you as everyone clapped for the maid of honor speech. You melted into him. His hand, warm and calloused, held yours. You smiled as you looked down at your finger, you were married.
“Mr. Hauk,” you said, rubbing your thumb over the small target tattoo on his thumb.
“Mrs. Hauk,” he smiled as your cheeks grew red from hearing it.
There was a thump as Joey jumped onto the stage. You and Ricky turned to look.
“May I have everyone’s attention?” Joey asked, tapping the microphone.
“Oh, now it’s your turn,” you said, leaning into Ricky’s shoulder.
“I’m Joey. Best man and most handsome Hauk brother.”
The crowd laughed and you booed.
“Oh shut up, Mrs. Hauk. You’re biased,” Joey teased, smiling at you. You stick your tongue out at him. He mirrored you and giggles could be heard in the crowd.
Joey shifted and looked at his shoes. “Ricky didn’t have the best of childhoods.”
Ricky tensed beside you and you reached over, rubbing the base of his neck with your thumb.
“But he made sure that I did,” Joey continued, looking out at the crowd. “Ricky was always a little sad and I often saw through the curtains he put up. It wasn’t until he took a creative writing course that I started to see that sadness start to fade away.”
You squeezed Ricky’s hand and he squeezed back.
“I will always remember the first time I met her,” Joey said with a smile. “She was like an angel if angels wore skinny jeans and graphic tees.”
You smiled at Joey who smiled back.
Fall Sophomore Year
Joey was sitting at the counter at the auto shop tinkering with his newest invention. It was quiet in the shop that afternoon and he loved it. These moments listening to his brother work on a car while he worked on his project. No one to bother them. No one to tell them what to do. Joey only recently learned about his brother’s childhood and how it was vastly different from his. He was grateful for everything his mother and brother did, but he also felt guilty for being happy and not traumatized.
“Hey Joey,” Ricky called from under the red Toyota. “Could you bring me my toolbox?”
“Sure,” Joey said, slipping from his stool.
“Thank you,” Ricky said as he heard the box being placed beside him.
“What do you think is wrong with it?” Joey asked.
“Get down here and I’ll show you.”
Joey’s face lit up as he crawled under the car beside his brother. He listened carefully as Ricky pointed out the parts of the car and what they did and how they worked. Joey handed Ricky the tools he needed when he needed them and held onto the little red rag when Ricky wasn’t using it.
He was leaning against the car when you pulled up.
Your car had seen better days and with the sound it was making, you were scared to drive it anywhere outside of the city. A friend of a friend had recommended the small auto shop just off campus and on your day off, you decided to take her to get looked at. You prayed that it wouldn’t cost more than an arm and a leg.
“Hello,” Joey greeted you at the counter.
“Why, hello,” you smiled. “Are you the owner of this fine establishment?”
Joey grinned. “No, my brother works here.”
“Oh. Well,” you said. “You look like someone I could trust with my car.”
“I do?” Joey beamed.
You laughed. “Yeah, you do.”
“That’s great because I want to be an inventor someday.”
“An inventor? What do you want to invent?”
“I’m not sure yet. I want to make things. Fix ‘em.”
“We need more people like that. We have far too many people breaking things. We need people who want to make and fix things instead.”
“Exactly,” Joey smiled. “I’ll go get my brother.”
Joey disappeared into the back of the shop and came back a few moments later with Ricky.
Your lips turned up and your eyes brightened when you saw him in the doorway. “Ricky.”
Ricky flushed and rubbed the back of his neck with his hand.
“You know my brother?” Joey asked.
“Yeah, we sit next to each other in creative writing,” you said. “Oh, are you the cute—”
Ricky gently steered Joey back into the back.
“Go get my rag,” Ricky said. “Please.”
Joey did as he was told and Ricky sighed.
“Ugh, little siblings,” you said. “Always on the verge of spilling our secrets.”
Ricky turned, “I didn’t—”
Didn’t what, exactly? Didn’t talk about her to his brother. Tell him how she was really cute and he was lucky to be able to sit beside her. Or worse, what he actually thought about her. When he actually thought about her. In the mornings and in the evenings and every second in between, and every second after. How he loved it when she curled up in her seat and her knees pressed into his, her arm brushing against his as she wrote in her notebook.
Of course, he couldn’t say that.
“Don’t worry about it,” you said. “I was wondering if you might have time today to look at my car. It’s making this weird sound and I’m scared it’s going to blow up or worse, die on me on the way to class.”
“I don’t think you have your priorities right,” Ricky said.
You laughed, “No. I guess I don’t.”
Ricky smiled, “You mind if I drive it around back?”
“No,” you said, handing him the keys. “Of course not.”
You placed the keys in his palm and your fingers brushed. It took every fiber in your being to not show what the simple touch did to you. Perhaps it was because you were touched deprived, or that you had a crush on him since the first day of classes or a hybrid of both, but your body heated up and you couldn’t stop it.
Ricky got in your car and turned it on, listening to the sounds it made. You watch him work. You loved his red baseball hat almost as much as you loved seeing his thick, fluffy hair, you decided. Ricky put the car in drive and disappeared around back.
“I’m glad it didn’t blow up with you inside,” you told him when he got back.
“Are you straightening out your priorities?” He asked.
“Maybe,” you smiled.
—
You talked with Joey while Ricky looked at your car. He was a sweet kid and you instantly fell in love with him. You talked about his dreams of inventing things and some of the ideas he had. He showed you his little notebook where he kept all his ideas.
“That one is really cool,” you said.
“It’s supposed to be a wind-powered generator.”
“That’s so cool,” you said, studying the picture.
“Yeah,” Joey said. “It would be better if I could figure out how to make it small enough to fit in a backyard, but powerful enough to power a house.”
“That does sound tough,” you said. “But if anyone could do it, it would be you.”
“You think?” Joey asked.
“I know.”
Joey smiled and turned back to his notebook, trying to look at his ideas in a new light.
You grinned before pulling out a book you were reading and opening it. You and Joey sat in peaceful silence while Ricky worked. You read while he tried to crack the code of his inventions.
“I’ve got some good news and some bad news,” Ricky said, walking up to you.
“Oh god,” you groaned.
“Bad news is I’m going to have to replace a part, good news is I can replace it tomorrow.”
“How much?”
Ricky sighed and rubbed his neck.
“I need to have it and it can’t be more than a new car. Just, if you promise it will run and not sound like it’s going to explode then I can find the money.”
“I promise.”
“Then that settles it,” you said. “Thank you,” you smile at him and he can’t help it as his lips turn up. “And thank you.” Joey looked up at you. “I can’t wait to see the windmill.”
Joey smiled. “I’ll show it to you as soon as I finish it.”
“I can’t wait. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“How are you getting home?” Joey asked.
“Taxi, I guess,” you said.
“We can take you home,” Joey said. “Ricky gets off in ten minutes and we have to go by the college on the way home anyway.”
“That’s very sweet, Joey, but I’m sure your brother wants to get home and rest.”
“It’s no problem, really,” Joey said.
You looked over at Ricky who shrugged. “He’s right. It’s on our way. If you don’t mind waiting ten minutes.”
“I don’t.”
During the short car ride, you talked about the latest assignment in class and how Ricky was loving this book of poetry he got from the library. You smiled at how passionate you both were about your love for a particular author.
It came as a surprise to you when you noticed the small tattoo on his thumb. You couldn’t help the instant thought of liking the small design. You really couldn’t help the thought of kissing it. Luckily you didn’t have to think about it too long as he pulled up to your apartment building.
“Thank you,” you said.
“It wasn’t a problem,” Ricky said.
“It meant a lot,” you insisted, “I’ll see you tomorrow. Good luck on your invention, Joey.”
“Thank you,” Joey said, crawling over the front seat. “I’ll make sure you are one of the first people to get one once it’s complete.”
“I’ll hold you to that.” You smiled and waved goodbye.
Ricky waited until you were safely inside before pulling away.
“I like her,” Joey said.
“I like her, too.”
Summer Before Senior Year
It was hotter than hell but you couldn’t care. You were at the beach with your boyfriend. That was an odd thing to say. Your boyfriend, Ricky. It brought a small smile to your face every time you thought about it. You helped Ricky get the cooler and towels from the bed of his truck while Joey ran towards the sand.
“Joey!” Ricky called. “You have to help!” “Oh, let him be,” you said, patting Ricky’s arm. “We got this.”
Ricky sighed as you gathered the last of supplies.
When you had everything set up far enough from the waves that they wouldn’t get wet, but close enough that it didn’t feel like a hike to get to them, you looked over at Ricky.
“What?” He asked as you smirked at him.
“Race you?”
His face broke out into a smile. “What’s the prize?”
“You’ll have to win to find out,” you said.
Ricky studied the mischief look in your eyes just as he studied Dickenson or Whitman.
“Deal,” he finally said.
The moment the word left his lips, you were sprinting to the water. The sand was soft and warm beneath your bare feet. You loved the feeling. Almost as much as you loved the moment your feet hit the water and Ricky’s arms came around you. You were lifted into the air and you shrieked as he carried you into the ocean.
“Cheater,” he mumbled into your shoulder when you were waist-deep.
Your feet touched the bottom and you turned to face him.
“I guess that means you win,” you said.
“I believe it does,” he said. “So what’s my prize?”
You wrapped your arms around Ricky’s neck and pulled him closer. “This,” you whispered before pressing your lips to his.
It was Ricky’s favorite thing, to kiss you, touch you. He loved being held by you and holding you. It brought him a feeling of comfort and security. He had proved to himself the previous weeks that he was not going to hurt you, that he was not like his father. The voice in his head had disappeared and he was able to be in every moment with you. And this moment was no different.
His arms tightened around your waist, pulling you closer as he deepened the kiss. You sighed in contentment as you gently ran your fingers through the back of his hair.
“I love you,” you whispered against his lips when you pulled away.
“I love—”
“Joey!” You shrieked and jumped away from Ricky. You were both wet head to toe now. “Get a room, there are kids here, you know,” Joey said.
Ricky laughed as you ran at Joey as fast as one could in the ocean, and jumped on him.
The young boy had grown a lot since the first time you met him. Now almost as tall as Ricky, he was all arms and legs. He often worried about his proportions but you would remind him that he would balance out soon. It didn’t always help, but it made him feel good when you took out the time and made him feel better.
––
You found yourself laying out on your towel with a book, Ricky beside you with his journal. Joey was talking with a boy a little ways away. You found your attention drawn away from your book and instead to your surroundings. Joey was laughing at what he had said. You looked over at Ricky who had his journal on his chest and his eyes closed. You buried your nose in your elbow and watched him. It was all so peaceful and warm. You didn’t want it to ever end.
“You’re staring, aren’t you?” Ricky asked.
You closed your eyes. “Am not.”
“Are too,” he said, shifting so he laid on his side facing you.
You looked at him again.
“I love you, too,” he said.
You smiled and he smiled back. Everything was as it should be.
Spring Semester Senior Year
It was Saturday and you were at the auto shop with Ricky and Joey. Ricky was under a car and every now and then you would look over the counter and watch him. The corner of your lip curved every time.
A rag flew through the air.
“Hey!” You said.
“Stop looking at him like that,” Joey said.
“And how am I looking at him?” You asked.
“Like you want to eat him.”
You flushed and went back to the textbook in front of you. He wasn’t wrong though and you knew it.
The morning passed by slowly. Ricky would appear often to drink water which he left beside you. It was quite clear that he left it there so he would have to come to you when he was thirsty and well, you didn’t mind at all. Ricky would come to get a drink, kiss your forehead or rub oil on your nose and you would laugh.
“Ugh,” Joey groaned at one point. “Do you two ever stop?”
“Do you have a problem with true love, Joey?” You asked.
“Why do you have to do that so much in front of me?”
“If you don’t like it, you can stop coming to work with me,” Ricky said. “And third-wheeling half of our dates.”
“But you guys always go to the best places,” Joey said.
You chuckled.
“Well, when you start dating, you can take your partner to the best places,” Ricky said.
“Or you can take yourself to those places,” you said.
“Fine,” Joey said, narrowing his eyes at you and Ricky before returning his attention to his homework. “I’ll stop coming.”
Ricky came around the counter to the stool you were sitting in. You ran your hands up his chest while his arms went around your waist.
“What shall we do for our next date?” You asked.
“We should definitely go to that ice cream shop,” Ricky said.
“Oh, yeah, the one with the toppings bar?”
“That’s the one,” Ricky said.
“That’s my favorite,” Joey whined.
“I thought you didn’t want to see us touching and kissing,” you said.
“And if you don’t want to see that, then you probably should come on our dates,” Ricky said.
“I hate you both,” Joey said.
You got off the stool and moved over to Joey. You ruffled his hair as you said, “You love us.”
He swatted you away. “Stop it. I’m trying to do my homework.”
You laughed and moved back to the counter as a swerving car pulled up to one of the gas stations. Ricky watched as a clearly drunk man stepped out of the car and went to pump gas.
“Sir,” you said, moving toward the man. “Sir, I think those pumps are closed,” you lied. “Let me call someone to tow you to another gas station.” Ricky tried to stop you, but you were already reaching for the pump and gently tugging it from the man. You heard him say your name before the metal hit you in the face. The next thing you remember is Ricky yelling and Joey holding a rag against your forehead. Then the man threw a punch and Ricky threw one. You were shocked and scared. Not Ricky. Never of Ricky.
Ricky was scared. You were bleeding drastically and he swore you lost consciousness. He tried to calm the man down so he could call 911, but how could you calm down the man who just hit someone you loved with a gas pump? One thing led to the next and the man threw a punch and then Ricky threw a punch. When the cops finally showed up and pulled them apart, Ricky looked over at you. You looked at him the way his mother had looked at his father, and that scared the shit out of him.
“Told you so,” the voice whispered. “You never deserved her.”
Ricky called your roommate and told her that you were being taken to a hospital in an ambulance. She wondered why he wasn’t going with you but she didn’t ask.
You got a letter from him the following day.
I’m sorry, it read. You deserve someone who doesn’t scare you.
Present
“They have had their ups and they have had their downs, but through it all, I always knew for certain that Ricky would always love her and she would always love Ricky. They showed me what a strong, healthy relationship was. Thank you. To Mr. and Mrs. Hauk.”

Chapter Five: Stable
I got up at five and met the guys at the Tau Psi house. The president was there, and he took count of all the pledges. Ken bumped into me and offered me a cup of coffee. He had a cup holder with two coffees, so I took one. "They're both espressos with chocolate," Ken whispered.
"Thanks," I replied, "I'm gonna tell you right now if they start hazing us, I'm out of here." Ken chuckled.
"Nah, this school's pretty tame. It'll probably be some dumb initiation stuff and drinking games," Ken replied, "But yeah, I get you."
The president stood at the top of the steps and told us to pair up. Ken and I stood still and watched as the crowd of men paired up. A guy in a Tau Psi sweatshirt gave each of us a snap bracelet with a number written on it. "Lucky thirteen," I grinned. Ken smiled a half-smile.
"Lucky thirteen," Ken repeated.
"Now that everyone has their number, I expect to see you guys together at all times unless you're in class," the president announced, "That includes the gym, the store, your dorms or apartments... And trust me, we'll be watching." Ken looked at me.
"Well... It looks like I'll be crashing with you and your brother," Ken whispered. I nodded, but something inside me felt weird. "Can we go get my stuff?"
"Okay, yeah... When's your next class?" I asked. It wasn't until noon, so I walked with him to his dorm. His side of the room was perfect. I stood in the doorway while he packed a few days' worth of clothes and books into his duffel. "Your room smells nice..." Small talk. I was exceptionally terrible at it.
"My roommate hates it. It's my cologne. I can barely smell it now," Ken replied. I found it hard to believe. The smell of wood and leather filled the room and spiced something else. "Grant... Do you see my laptop and charger? It's the one with the blue sticker."
I unplugged the charger from the wall and gave him his laptop. My hand brushed his, and I didn't pull away as quickly as I probably should've. His eyes darted from the computer and met mine, and he smiled at me. Something in me didn't want to pull away when he looked at me, but I had to. It was weird. It should've been weird. "Hey... Um... Have you had breakfast yet?" I asked. He shook his head. I finally managed to let go of his hand.
"No, why did you have something in mind?" Ken asked. I nodded.
"My brother gets up for school in a little bit, so I'll probably make breakfast. Eggs, bacon... That kind of stuff," I replied. Ken grinned.
"Can't wait," Ken replied. He zipped his duffel and let out a sigh. "Well, I think I'm all packed."
I drove him back to Joey and I's apartment. "My pullout is comfortable-. I mean-."
Ken laughed and shook his head. "No, I get what you mean. This is a nice-. How many roommates do you have?" Ken questioned.
"Just my brother... Why?" I asked.
"Dick Grayson doesn't live with you?" Ken questioned.
"How do you know Dick Grayson?" I asked. "Also, he's my brother's boyfriend. He stayed over. Morning, Dick. You can stay for breakfast if you want." I didn't look up at him.
Dick stepped over and looked me in the eye. His hair was wet, and he looked painfully uncomfortable. "Thanks for not letting our personal stuff get in the way of what I've got with your brother... I was worried that it'd be an issue," Dick whispered.
"He likes you. That's all that matters," I replied, "Thanks for making him so happy..." I felt like I had to say something nice to ease the tension. It's what Joey would've liked me to do.
"Hi, Dick," Ken smiled.
"I didn't see you yesterday at the gym. Everything okay?" Dick asked. Ken nodded.
"I was there a little earlier than usual, but I might be at the gym this afternoon," Ken replied, "We're also pledging this week, and the frat wants Grant and me tied at the hip. Initiation stuff."
I stepped away to wash up and make breakfast, meeting eyes with Joey as he left his room. His hair was a mess. "Slut," I joked, and he gave me the finger. I opened the fridge, opened a pack of sausages, and threw them in the oven.
"Can I have home fries? I'll cut them up," Joey offered. I nodded. "Your friend moving in?"
I shook my head and shrugged. "Fraternity wants us paired up at all times except for classes or sports. So, he's only here until the end of the week," I replied, "That's Ken, by the way."
Joey nodded. "Oh, I know, Ken. He's cute... Nice jaw, good build, tight-."
"Hey, chill," I replied. Joey chuckled, and I shook my head. "Don't make this weird."
Joey washed his hands and started peeling potatoes. It shut him up long enough for me to think of something else. Something not related to Ken. I sat across from Joey at the counter and tapped his wrist. "About our argument the other night-."
"Water under the bridge, Grant. I get it. You aren't ready, and I don't think I am, either. I texted him the other day, and it didn't feel right yet," Joey confessed.
"You texted Slade?" I asked. Joey nodded. "You talked to him?"
"No, he replied, but I haven't said anything back. I didn't know what to say," Joey replied. I nodded. I didn't have anything else to say.
"Wait, how do you and your boyfriend know Ken?" I signed.
"He's in gymnastics with Dick," Joey answered. He had that stupid shit-eating grin on his face again.
"Whatever you know that I don't... Keep it to yourself, Joe," I replied, "I don't wanna know unless he wants to tell me." Joey's smile faded.
"Are you sure?" Joey questioned. I nodded.
Dick came by and kissed Joey before letting himself out. It was the perfect distraction. Joey was so busy gushing about his boyfriend that he didn't notice me returning to our eggs. Ken sat next to Joey and started talking.
I turned around and waved a hand to stop him. I stomped on the wood floor, and Joey looked up. "Ken's talking to you," I explained. Joey nodded and shook his hand.
"Sorry. What were you saying?" Joey asked. I interpreted it out loud.
"Oh, I was saying I know Dick from gymnastics, and I've seen you around," Ken explained. Joey smiled and nodded.
"Pommel horse, right?" Joey asked.
"Oh, I got that one," Ken smiled, "And yeah. I used to vault until I fractured my tailbone. It put me out for an entire season."
I took the food out of the oven and made my plate. "Food's done," I announced.
We made our plates, and I joined them with my breakfast. Meals were almost always quiet. I think that confused Ken. "Joey, you didn't wanna pledge?" Ken questioned.
"I'm already part of a frat," Joey answered.
"Gamma Rho," I added.
"Progressive," Ken replied. No sarcasm. "I hear they're kind of wild over there, though."
"Once you guys get in Tau Psi, you should drop by a Gamma Rho party," Joey invited us. I shook my head.
"If my brother invites you to a party, just know you're probably gonna end up hungover for a week," I warned. Ken laughed.
"Lightweight," Joey teased.

SnakeFace episode 8 script
This is where the script starts to get consistent with the story, so I apologize for any repetitions or confusing elements of the first 6 episode scripts, because (keep in mind) episodes 7-11 are rewrites of the ORIGINAL script. There will be several inconsistencies with the previous script, but not with the comic itself (which I highly recommend reading before reading the script). Thank you
[episode script under cut]
[there was supposed to be a bonus comic for this one, but I took it out of the published episode because it would've taken too long and the episode wouldn't have been released on time, but I'll add the script in for the scene anyway because I like the writing]
Ivan didn’t eat lunch. He was still too nervous about everything to totally let his guard down; he didn’t exactly eat like “normal” people did. The only thing Val had brought was, strangely enough, a peach.
“You like fruit?” Ivan asked.
“Yeah, love ‘em,” answered the vampire. “Why?”
“I guess I thought since you were a vampire you couldn’t really eat anything but… you know… blood.”
“First of all, rude, but no. I can eat certain other foods that bats can usually eat. But you won’t catch me dead eating a handful of mosquitoes if that’s what you’re thinking.”
Ivan chuckled. “No, that would be weird. I just thought it was rather strange you liked them.”
“Hey, off-topic, but you’ve got photography last, right?” Val didn’t meet his eyes.
“Yeah, why?”
“Aw man, Rohellec’s in that class.”
“Rohellec?”
“The mayor’s son. Real douche of a guy, let me tell ya. Not as bad as Garroth, of course, but he’s kind of a brat. He’s got no friends, not like he wants them anyways, and he hates his dad. He’s huge on photography, and you’re stuck with him.”
Is he really that bad? Ivan wondered. Lunch ended, and Ivan basically zoned out through his next two classes before photography. He wasn’t super excited to have a class with a presumably rude upperclassman, but he figured he might give the class a chance. Ivan walked into the room and caught the glance of a strange-looking student. Strange, as in unsettling. His eyes were covered by his hair, and despite his brooding energy, his clothes were light.
Is that Rohellec?
The teacher told Ivan to take a seat next to the green-haired boy, who would apparently talk Ivan through the basics of their unit. Hesitantly, Ivan sat down. The boy didn’t move. The teacher raised their voice.
“Joey!” They called, the boy’s head snapping up as he jumped. “You have a student to teach.”
The boy, Joey, turned to Ivan. “You're new?”
Ivan nodded. “Yeah, I just got here. Your name is Joey, right?”
“Joey-Simon Rohellec. You?”
“Ivan. Peters.”
“Peters? Wait a minute, I know you.”
Ivan froze. “You do?”
“Yeah, you’re from Overdale, right? Halloween. I was in town that week; almost didn’t recognize you. Makes it easier for me to help you out if I’ve already met you.”
This was the mayor’s son? Val had made him out to be such a rude person that it was hard to believe he was talking with that same guy. He didn’t seem so bad, so either there had been some sort of misunderstanding… or Val lied.
“You’ll need your own camera by the end of the week. Until then, you can share mine.”
Ivan talked with Joey through a lot of the class, figuring out the curriculum and what he would need within the next week. Joey had already taken the class before me and knew every lesson, so he easily caught Ivan up to speed. Near the end of the class, Ivan decided to bring something up.
“So, do you know Valentine Cross?” He asked.
“The vampire?” Joey looked offended. “Yeah, why?”
“He told me you were kind of… a jerk. I trust him, so I was really pleasantly surprised when it turned out you were nice.”
“Ah, of course, he did.” Joey snarled, chuckling sarcastically. “That damn vampire is such a pain. He’s up to something and I know it, the amount of time he spends around Garroth is suspicious. No one that hangs out with Garroth has good intentions; I wouldn’t trust him if I were you.”
Ivan didn’t know what to think. Val hated Garroth, he made that much apparent. There had to be some sort of misunderstanding between the two of them because Joey was seemingly a nice guy, and Val wanted nothing to do with Garroth.
The bell rang. Joey walked out with Ivan, who immediately caught sight of Kim and Val. When the vampire saw Joey, both of them scowled.
“Rohellec,” Vam grimaced.
“Cross,” Joey returned the tone.
“I see you’ve made friends with Ivan.”
“I could say the same.”
They continued to glare at each other for a while, creating an awkward tension that was starting to get on Ivan’s nerves.
“Look,” he started, “I don’t know what happened between you two, but I think there’s been some sort of misunderstanding-”
“That’s for sure,” Joey frowned. “You decided to befriend one of Garroth’s goons.”
“Goon?” Val shouted. “As if I would ever follow that thieving, garlic-loving, two-faced ghoul! You have some nerve.”
Ivan could tell by Joey’s mouth that he was confused by this. “I don’t understand? You’re around him all the time, same as that weird cat-looking girl, and you’re telling me you hate the guy?”
“Yes. Yes, I do. It’s you that’s got a problem with everyone else. You make assumptions, it’s no wonder you never make any friends.”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
Joey started walking away, but Kim caught his sleeve. “Both of you, cut it out! If there’s one thing I know for sure it’s that Ivan doesn’t just go up to anyone to be friends with them. Listen to each other; neither of you knows anything about the other! So who’s to say you couldn’t be friends? Just talk to each other, for crying out loud, you might learn something.”
Ivan smiled. When Kim was serious about something, she meant it. She started walking away, Ivan following. “Now come on, we don’t have all day.”
“Wait, where are we going?” Val was confused but listened.
“My house, you two are talking things through and you’re not leaving until you can convince me you get along.”
“Who are you, my mom?”
“I may as well be at this point. Someone has to take responsibility here.”
Joey chuckled, saying not a word. When they got to the manor, Val and Joey’s faces dropped in awe. Kim flung the door open and stepped inside.
“You coming in or what?” The three followed her inside promptly.
“You live here?” Val gawked. “This place is huge!”
“No kidding,” Joey stood still in the doorway.
“Aren’t you both rich?” Ivan said.
“Well- yeah, but I live with my sister, her house isn’t nearly this big. This has to be at least three stories.”
“Four, including the attic,” Kim tossed her bag aside. “Too many rooms to count, seven bathrooms, a balcony, a miniature library, a greenhouse, full kitchen and dining room, and… what am I forgetting?”
“The telescope,” Ivan muttered.
“Right, yeah. Stargazing tower on the roof. You can access it from the balcony and the attic.”
Again, Val and Joey were shocked. Val stuttered to speak, but eventually found words. “Not even my family’s house is that fancy, and Dante’s over a hundred years old.”
“Speak for yourself, Dan’s place is on a literal cave plateau,” Joey added. “But a library? That’s a bit much.”
“Alright, enough about the house,” Kim stood stoutly. “You two. Attic. Now. Go bond.”
“But-”
“No. Now.”
Kim snapped her fingers and the two were gone in a puff of smoke. Ivan never really thought about just how skilled Kim was until she was aggravated. She took a breath and tipped over backwards, flipping over the sofa and crashing down onto the throw pillows. Ivan walked around and sat on one of the decorative loveseats next to her.
“You think they’ll actually get along?” He asked the witch.
“They’d better,” Kim huffed. “Or group therapy won’t be the only thing they’ll be worried about.”
Ivan laughed, earning a smirk from Kim. She thought for a bit. “I think we should offer up rooms.”
“What?”
“To Joey and Val. Joey lives with his sister and Val constantly talks about how awful his family is to him. We might as well give them the option if they ever need someplace to stay.”
“I think that’s a good idea. At this rate they’ll have to get along.”
“That’s the point, Ivan.”
Ivan had ended up falling asleep, or at least zoning out for a while. When he “woke up,” Val and Joey were walking down the stairs from the second floor. Kim looked pleased with herself.
“You know,” Val crossed his arms. “It’s kind of hard to find your way back down without a map; it’s practically a maze in here.”
“Team building,” Kim said. “So…?”
Val rolled his eyes. “I guess, Rohellec isn’t all that bad.”
“Does this mean you guys are friends now, or?” Ivan wondered.
“Sure, if it makes Kim happy,” Joey shrugged. “Doesn’t matter to me, Val’s pretty cool.”
“Great. Wonderful,” Kim stood up, “so how would the two of you feel about having your own rooms?”
Both of their faces lit up.
“Wait, you serious?” Joey said. “That would be great!”
Kim nodded. “The good bedrooms are all on the second floor so you can see which ones you want, then we’ll set them up as the week goes on.”
“Kimber, you’re the best,” Val grinned. He and Joey took off to the second floor, Ivan and Kim following after. Val chose a room connecting to a bathroom, which was shared by the second bedroom next door. Joey suggested he take the balcony.
“Well, it wouldn’t necessarily be fair for you to have the balcony and no one else,” Kim tried to explain.
Joey pulled a box out of his pocket. “I smoke… so.”
“Yep. Balcony room. Outside. No smoking in the house for you.”
“Great, thanks.” He made an “ok” with his hand. “I’ll just have Bev drop my things off at some point, we can rent a moving truck.”
Val rolled his eyes. “I’ll just buy new stuff so I don’t have to trouble the butler.”
“All my friends are rich,” Ivan muttered.
“Ivan, you live here.”
“I am worth a single dollar.”
<CH8 BONUS COMIC>
Joey and Val went to their own homes that night but would start moving into the York manor later that week. Kim and Ivan sat on the porch as the sun dipped behind the trees, just listening to the wind. Kim looked over at the snake.
“You know,” she started, “it’s nice seeing you happy.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Ivan didn’t turn his head.
“Well, you’ve already made friends with two more people, and fixed a broken bond. You seem pretty happy about that. But, there’s still something bothering you, isn’t there?”
“Yeah, but… I don’t know, I guess I’m just homesick. It’s nice to get a fresh start and all but…”
“I know what you mean. You miss your dad. I miss my friends, but I can’t even begin to understand how you feel.”
“That’s okay. I know I won’t be able to get over this for a long time, but for now? For now, I just want to try something new for a change.”
“That sounds nice.”
<ooOoooO put a spoopy slide of Tom somewhere in there to make it more dramatic or smth> [2024 Fenn here, that was literally in the script. There are so many notes like that scattered throughout the new script so get ready for my random author notes to myself]
