"An actual leader" AU

In this au after the perfect family harmony doesnt work, even tho they end up in a fight, the brothers dont keave, tgey kind of stay mad at JD for a long time and JD is too stubborb to apologize

So they're like at a standstill wuth each other

Until the great escape comes long

Thats when it gets bad

When they escape through the tunnels the bergans find them and start digging

While the bros run through the tunels, the tjing starts collapsing on them, and seeing as their way is gonna be cut off from them JD grabs a hold of his bros and pushes them further as a last effort in hopes they make it

They do

But he doesn't

Left behind at a dead end him and the trapped trolls start to navigate for an alternate way to get out and meet up with the other trolls

That doesnt hapoen as bergans find them

JD immediately leapd into actiob, adrenalin pumping in his vains, distracting the bergans as much as he possibly could until all trolls are out

He unfortunately doesn't leave unscathed as when he was running away he niticed a little girl about to get crushed in the tunnels, pushibg her out of the way of rubble his leg gets caughg under and it gets crushed

That later on leads to the fact that he needs to amputate it

Said girl he saves btw ends up being viva

Now him and these trolls need to leave and never look back, find a place to settle in and call "home", he later on find himself taking the role of their leader without realising, old habits die hard it seems, and thus the putt-putt were under his responsibility

On tge otger side however, his brothers who escaped fully belive that tgeir brotger died, i mean who woukd survive that? And their world comes crashing down at that, they lost grandma the last trollstice, and now tgey lost john

And worst of all they lost him withoyt getting to make up or make thibgs right between them, he died thinking they hated him

All three, spruce, clay and Floyd lose colours and thibgs never are the same again, branch seems to be the onky one amongst them to keep a hold of happiness, but no matter how hard he tries to be tgeur beacon of light and happiness, to bribg back tgeir colours, it never works

I'm thinking that they haven't even seen a skateboard before but how would the guys from your choosing would react seeing the residents other worldly magicless student do some tricks while riding?

ive decided to make it into headcanons format, hope you don't mind!

also, idk if my mind invented it but i believe cater canonicaly skates??? idk if its true but i went with that it is canon, however twst skates are a lil bit diff, just like magic wheels, skateboards in twst are like tiny surfboards (ie: don't have wheels) and they use magic to ride!

so when he sees you jumping on a rail while still on the skate AND with grims weight on your back he cant help himself from recording it and posting it to magicam

you go viral bc people are asking what is that... ironing board with wheels??

he does one of those interviews with the little mics with you so that you explain that's a skate for non-magic people

he later asks you to be skating buddies and sometimes you two skate together <33

he lends you his magic skate but sunce you can't use magic he makes it float for you, its quite an interesting experience!!

he likes to sit in the nose of your skate while youre going around

One of the first ones that saw your endeavors

he also finds Grim holding onto your shoulders very funny (and has teased the little monster for it)

but he thinks it is also very cool and wants to learn how to ride it

he tries to ride your skateboard but he finds it very difficult and falls more times that he'd like to admit

so you have to hold his hand while he practices or hes gonna break his tail bone

DESPISES using a helmet

he asked you what else you can do with a skate and you did an ollie

he was FLABBERGASTED, and when you told him THAT was a simple trick he lost his mind

demanded you teach him EVERY and ALL tricks

"i look hella cool, everyone's gonna be flocking to me for a date" Yeah sure, first learn how to stop the skate instead of jumping for it

"Aye, AYE, AYE PREFECT CATCH ME-" His arms flailing to his sides as he lost equilibrium, you opened your arms trying to stop Ace's fall, but as his body collided with yours, you tripped on your backpack, which Grim had left alone after a while, deciding to nap on the grass. You both fell to the floor, your body acting as a cushion for Ace. "Okay, that wasn't that bad, ON THE BOARD AGAIN!"

"What the HELL is that?!? I LOVE IT?!?" Quite literally pushes you off the skate to take a closer look at it (hes a dick)

asks a million questions about it "what is this device?? what do you land humans use it for?? can i bite it??" You want to say that that would be dangerous but hes,,, well, hes floyd

also demands that you reach him how to ride the land dolphin

completly ignored Grum and the disgruntled look he was giving him in favor of jumping on top of the table, proceding to fall in his ass the very next moment

you start wuth the basics, and turns out hes a goofy! picks it up very quickly and soom enough hes speeding (and slamming against a wall because he hasn't learned to stop)

found out you could jump with the skate on himself, and later asked you what you could do

he finds out that he really likes kickflips, like, perhaps too much

his favourite part is doing tricks and going down very steep hills

"YO! LOOK AT THIS" He was on top of your board while you were sitting on a bench, enjoying how much fun he was having with your "weird human invention". His left foot went to the back, pushing down so that the nose of the skate went up, at the same time he jumped, his right foot slid over the board, making it roll around itself before he planted his feet back on it as he landed. Effectively doing a kickflip. "Yooo that was SO COOL. Teach me more!"

hes really interested on the technology of the device you're using, does it have a motor? what's its max speed? how does it leave the floor?

so when he finds out its a board with wheels and youre the one manually making it move and jump, hes a little bit disappointed

however the momet he sees you slide along the edge of a wall the only thing he can think of is how cool you are and that you must be a UR+ Character with OP stats, AND, Grim looked so fluffy and cute behind you!!!

You can see him looking at you from afar, muttering something under his breath, a pen and sketching pad in hid hands

you see that he wsnts to get closer to you and ask you something, but if he ever catches you looking at him while hes taking notes and sketching you hes gonna bolt

legit runs away

but you slide next to him with ease, and soon after hes wheezing for air

hes really defensive but apologizes for drawing you without consent, vut you assure him that you dont mind

"So... uhm, uh, you-" he points to the skate and then to you, you back down from the skate and offer him your hand, asking him if he wanted to try

he sucks

his hair is bright red because hes so embarrased, like, he cannot push himself even once before falling to demise

he fails so hard that you end up getting on the board with him, holding his arms so that he isn't flailing them around and push you both for a couple of meters

hes ecstatic

later he'll ask you if he can add some modifiers to your board to make it "an SSR item"

hell make one for ortho so that he can also play around with you

in the end, whenever you (and sometimes ortho) skate around, he'll take some pictures to brag online (mostly of his babies, ie: the now super technologically advanced skates that would make anyone jealous)

"Ortho followed behind you, he quickly adjusted to skateboarding, and was much better than his brother, but perhaps that was because he was a robot... Nah, even if he wasn't he'd still be better than Idia. He was looking at you both in between loading screens, as he sat in a bench under the shade, his handheld console in his hands. Hey Cherry today i have decided to show yuu our appreciation for all the bullshit they deal with at NRC by writing some of my personal headcanons about them

(sorry if the formatting and gramnar is bad i am writing this on my phone.)

Mc is a really good teacher because of how often they have to tutor Grim, Adeuce, floyd or anybody really when they need to write an upcoming test or exam and they need or didnt pay attention in class.

Mc is a DIY pro. Ramshackle dorm is akways falling apart due to how old it is so Mc has to repair it everytime something is not working or gets broken.

Mc and Grim arent apart of any clubs cuz Crowley is running them ragged with his personal tasks but they will occasionally pop by a random club and take pictures during their session

Following the previous point. When they went to the pop music club it damn near turned inti a photoshoot wuth Kalim, Lilia and Cater busy posing in different ways and in different outfits(Cater one hundred percent posted all those photos on his magicam account with hashtags like #popmusiclubphotoshoot and # pictures with the boys). When mc went to The film study club they became Vils impromptu cameraman because he decided to hold a theater practice that day (Vils was so impressed with Mc's camera skills he low-key thought of hiring them as his personal cameraman)

Mc is actually really beautiful but because of all the mishaps and their horrible sleep schedule they tend not to look all that amazing that was until Vil decided to hold a live QnA and have Mc work their Camera but because Mc didnt want to embarass Vil they put an actual effort into look nice by putting on their nicest casual clothing and some light make up. Eventually at one point Vil off handedly mentioned that they have somebody working the camera right now which soarked all of his followers pestering him into showing Mc face. After relenting and showing his followers their face they all blew uo his chat witg compliments about hiw pretty and breathtakibg they look and how only Vil could get another model to be his camera man etc. (definetly made mc a regular on his QnA after that)

Mc, Jamil and Ruggie all go to the Mostro lounge every friday night and drink a fae drink that has simikar effects to alochol without all the negative side effects and vent all their frustrations for that week to one another so yeah Mc has drinking buddies.

Mc is actually a lot fitter than they look because of how often they hace to run around nught raven college doing tasks or manual labor it helps keeps them fit.

Mc eats a lot of healthy foods meant for athletes because its cheaper than the other foods and mc is broke.

Speaking of that Mc is constantly broke because they have to a pay for all of the things Grim inadvertently breaks and materials to fix the dorm

Mc spoils grim, like a lot. This is because they know how tough it is bejng a magicless student in a school meant for mages but they know Grim has it just as rough due to him being a mknster so they often spoil him by bejng him premium tuna if their is enough money or buying him the food he wants at the cafeteria etc.

Mc at one pount wanted to renovate the entirety of Ramshackle dorm but didnt go through with it when they realised how much Malleus liked the look and feel of the dorm

Last one for today Grim is the sole reason Mc gets out of bed. Sometimes Mc gets tired. Tired of dealing wuth everyone's problems, tired of alk the scorn and hate they receive from student body and most kf tired kf never knowing when they can go home but when they hear in the early hours of the morning Grim shouting at the ghosts about how he will become the greatest mage of all time and how he will leave his legend in the annals of history. It makes mc realise that Grim has all the same problems as Mc but they don't bicth and whine about it and that gives them the energy they need to get through the day

Anyway cherry I really hoped you like it and if you want i dont mind making a part two of this later down the line.

GIVING GRIM SOME LOVE BC HOW CAN WE NOT??? as much as I don't comment a lot about Grim either in posts or stories, I actually see much of my own cat on him so I would ended up spoiling him a little... but have some fights with him too lmao (that's just me being more of a cat-person)

Grim being a accidental inspiration is something that he probably wouldn't expect much himself lol but makes us think about how after mourning something, we should get up and face the world then again. I mean, it's a natural response to get sad and tired of lot of things but if you don't get over it or do something about it, what will all mean after all? You'll just get tired and nothing will change anyway

Grim going to the mirror and shouting that one meme "DO IT MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE" and MC, after some good moment of sleeping, is like "well, you heard the monster cat"
