An  Officer and A Gentleman/2
Tumblr media
Fanfiction
Part 2
AU TVD/TO story- crossover with SealsTeam/Top Gun, the movie
Elijah Mikaelson x reader/Elena Gilbert
ft Angel and Buffy
Intro: Elijah Mikaelson is a Navy Seals operative, same as Angel S. Booth. They are sent to Top Gun, navy strike fighter tactics instructor program, for a special course called the Hybrid Seals Program (this is fanfiction, so all is invented!). There he will meet the aero-space engineer and instructor Y/N/Elena Gilbert. Having their heart broken due to life’s circumstance and such - they will try to learn to love again.
a/n: thanks so much for reading this most unusual crossover. But, Dg is so dashing in uniform, so I guess I had to write Elijah Mikaelson as an Officer, who is also a gentleman! lol. xoxo

______________
Later that night, Angel and Elijah found themselves discussing Y/N/E and Buffy.
"When they said Code name Slayer, and your Buffy came in, I really thought wtf, but wow - the tactic and strategic plans she showed were genius." - Elijah said.
"She has a rype of logic I have always admired."- Angel said-"whenever we were given a task and she lead the team, we have always made it first, with no casulties. Sometimes it felt like she would go through plans like a computer or knew all the moves the enemy would do." - Angel explained.
"I know you two have history, but - she looks like an ice-queen. Did you see how she spoke to Lockwood."-Elijah said-"and when you addressed an issue, she kind of looked right through you."
"Yeah, she changed. And - ahm - there are things  I've never told you about her and me."
"Oh?"
Angel now told him about how he went to stop the wedding -
Flashback
New York, Years back
Tumblr media
"What are you doing here?" - Buffy asked Angel extremely pissed off as he stepped out and said that he had something to say.
"I love you. I made a huge mistake when I let you go. I just had to come and - please - I know how it looks-"
Andrew, Buffy's fiance and a husband to be now punched Angel.
"Fuck" - Elijah said-"I would never think you'd do something like that. You are always so rational."
"When it comes to her I forget -my head- everything"
"What happened? I guess she still married the man!?" - Elijah said.
"Yes. She was three months pregnant. And -"
"What?"
"The baby was still born." - Angel said.
"Oh, damn."
"Please keep this to yourself." - Angel said.
"Of course. Hey, this is serious stuff."
"I heard that the marriage broke down and she - went to teach on West Point. Later got into Pentagon."- Angel said.
"Is she kind of the reason why you split with Brennan?" - Elijah now asked.
"No. Brennan wanted me back in FBI, start a family, but I just -"
"You run from it." - Elijah concluded.
"I can't settle. I tried and - just can't."- Angel admitted.
"You two never really had closure, did you?"
Angel sighed-
"Well, I didn't. And seeing her today, it felt like a boomerang hit me. I don't know if I can survive another class- but- hey, talking about surviving classes- you changed colours when  Sunny aka Y/N/E came in."
"Don't even start. Damn! Her of all women out there had to be an instructor.”- Elijah now smiled chucking -”I asked her to have coffee with me" -
"You didn't?"
"I did. She wants to know about the Mig!" - Elijah raised his eyebrow.
"You told her about that?"
"It came out. But she has read the report already. She has got access to classified files." - Elijah replied.
"You used the Mig to go out with her. What are you doing? She is our instructor. You could get kicked out. And not to mention you are on a huge rebound." -Angel reminded his friend.
"Who says I am going to marry her. And I am very well aware that she is our instructor. So damn beautiful and brainy, though."-Elijah said with a smirk on his face.
"You are playing with fire and I really hope you won’t get burnt.”
"I crushed and burnt already- twice. Who says we can't have fun?! No emotions. Just fun!"
"Well, it's good she is off limits in a way, cuz you are talking like a jerk." - Angel said.
"Maybe. She didn't brush me off."- Elijah said taking a swag of beer.
"I have a feeling she will."- Angel said.
"Let's wait and see."
🚫
In her aparment, Y/N/E thought about Elijah as well. It's been a long time she had taken notice of a guy and flirted with one. She agreed to have coffee with him. What was she thinking? Just cancel it, Y/N/E. There is nothing to it. It's just a harmless cup of coffee and you will get info on the Mig first hand. That's all. What else is there?
But, thinking of him and that smouldering look he gave her as he left make her feel all fuzzy inside.Y/N/E shook her head and now putting the take away on her plate she put some music on. Then pouring herself a glass of wine she went to the balcony to eat.
There she was. Eating alone. And it has been like this for years now. She would get her take away out. Get a glass of wine. Listen to some music. Work on the design. Maybe watch a movie. Go to bed. Get up. Go to work.
Flashback A year ago
"Hey" - Y/N/E said as she picked up her phone.
"Hey" - Caroline said-"I am coming over in a couple of days. Long weekend to be exact. And we are having fun."
"What?"
"I spoke to Damon and he said you are - you! You just work and work and work."
Y/N/E sighed-"Care, I really can't this weekend. I have to prepare for a conference and then I have to mark the finals when I get back, plus I am working on the new design for a fighter jet."
"Ok. I know Ms Smarty pants - next weekend then? They do give you time off. Well, it's actually you who loads herself with work and more work."- Caroline was not letting her friend off the hook so easily and Y/N/E knew that she wouldn't so she looked at the diary now and told the blonde-
"I - have some time off -last weekend in June."
"Good. I will be there and don't you dare find an excuse or cancel. Ok. Bye. Talk later." - Caroline said and hung up.
Two weeks later, Caroline was there, in Annapolis. And she had a full program of girly fun. They went for lunch and a guy flirted a bit with Y/N/E, making her get dismissive was tense. Later that evening, Caroline had to address the issue of Y/N/E completely burying herself into work, and the way she reacted to the man.
"Y/N/E, I know it hurt like hell when Stefan died, but, you are allowed to live - a little. More than a little.
" I can't do it, Caroline"-Y/N/E said.
"Stefan would want you to go out there and - have fun. It's been -more than a year."
"I don't care if it's been a year or thousand years - I just - can't. I don't think I ever will."- Y/N/E said annoyed a tad bit.
"Ok. Maybe not right now. But you are only 26. One day you might meet a guy and fall in love. And it's ok - to fall in love again"
"I am not interested. I will never fall in love again. My heart died with him"- Y/N/E now looked away as her eyes filled with tears.
"Hey - I’m sorry- I didn' t mean to be insensitive. Ok. let’s got out - ice cream or something- tell me about this new jet"
Y/N/E now gulped and tried to dismiss the butterflies rumbling inside of her stirred by the very thought of Elijah. She needed a distraction, and called Buffy now. The two instructors met a few days ago as they arrived and clicked on immediately.
"Do you want to go out for a drink?" - Y/N/E said-"My bff Damon is in the movies with his boyfriend. They asked me to go with them, but I don't want to be the third wheel."
"Yeah, ok. Ocean Mystic bar?" -Buffy said.
"Yes. See you in ten."- Y/N/E said.
And soon, the women met up there, greeted by the new bar owner, their friend Lorenzo St. John.
"Enzo- you're back? Caroline said you won't be back till end of the month?"- Y/N/E said as the two friends hugged.
"I came down  earlier cuz I need to finalize the paper work."- the man explained-"I have some news - also bought the Ocean Drive Diner."
"OMG! Seriously?" -Y/N/E said happy to hear the news.
"Yeah, Caroline convinced me that she will make it into a hip place. And we all loved hanging out there."
"You  so had enough of L. A., ha?" - Y/N/E continued.
"Totally. It feels good to be back, O tell you that."- Enzo said.
"I say so, too."- Y/N/E said.
"Ok, the drinks are on the house, I will leave you two now."
"Oh, I completely forgot. This is Buffy, the new tactic/strategy instructor."- Y/N/E introduced the blonde.
"Nice to meet you."- Enzo said-"I hope you like it here."
"I see that you are a good happy clique. No one made so welcome ever." - Buffy said.
"That's how we roll here" - Enzo said, and with a little see you later went.
Y/N/E and Buffy went on to chat about Y/N/E and her friends and their lives as teenagers and how they remained still so close, even though life had set them apart at one point.
Buffy remembered her friends, but also how their friendship fell apart and they stopped calling one another.
All in all, the evening went to recalling good and sad moments.
Buffy now also shared to Y/N/E her story with Angel.
🚫
In the morning
Y/N/E played with her phone, as she parked in front of the Ocean Drive Diner where she agreed she would meet Elijah.
Tumblr media
As she was about to call him, she saw him sit inside already waiting for her.
Tumblr media
She gulped hard. Again the fuzzy, but now even butterfly-like feelings rushed back in right through her.
"Bite the bullet" - Y/N/E said to herself trying to steady herself, checking her make up in the review mirror unconsciously and then put the phone back in her bag and got out of her Porsche.
As she entered, she kind of straightened her shirt and with a very serious and semi-professional demeanour walked to where Elijah was sitting.
Hearing her say hello to the waitress, Elijah looked up, giving her a little smile.
"You are early" -  Y/N/E said as she sat down.
"I see you work on military precision." - Elijah said.
“Always”- she replied and now turned to the waitress telling her what she would have-
"Coffee. Milk. No sugar. And bluberry pancakes."
"Bluberry pancakes?!" - Elijah said-"Me too."
The waitress went and Y/N/E went straight to the point, taking out the sheet of questions from her briefcase.
"You are very efficient." - Elijah remarked taking the paper looking at the questions.
"I need specifics" - Y/N/E said-"it would be so great if you would be as precise as you can be."
"Right. I - must say that I am amazed at -"
Elena cut in before he could funish kind of knowing what he was getting at-
"How come a girly me is into something so- masculine?"
"I didn't mean to say that - I don't do stereotypes."- Elijah said defensively. One of our best Seals operatives was a woman, who got us out from a right jam."
"I'm sorry - I didn't mean to - cut in like that. But - I do get some of the stereotype comments. Anyway, I seriously will appreciate you doing this."
"Yeah, no problem. Still how come you love planes so much."
"My dad." - Y/N/E said-"He was a NASA pilot.”
“Gilbert! John Gilbert? He is your dad? The one that - " - Elijah stopped there as he knew about John Gilbert's fatal crash.
"Yes. The one that died on the test flight in 1990. I was one years old."- Y/N/E resumed.
"Oh. Yes- I’m sorry”- Elijah said with a genuinely heartfelt voice.
Elena now lowered her defences and continued-
"Thanks. It’s all - because of him, I wanted to be an astronaut, but I ended up constructing planes, and teaching areo-space dynamics. But talking about great dads, yours is right up there, too."
"Well, I would not say that he is that brilliant. Well, maybe as an NCIS investigator, but lousy as a father."
Y/N/E could see that she inadvertently hit the nerve there. It was good that the pancakes came as she now gushed how much she missed the way they made them there, adding loads of cream, Elijah commented-
"You have -a real sweet tooth."
"The sweetest. This will cost me extra hours in the gym later." - Y/N/E now put a lot of cream on the pancakes.
"Who parties hard needs to work hard" - Elijah said as he tucked in his pancakes, putting the same amount of cream on.
And somehow the conversation swayed to food and the diner. She told him that her friend had bought the place. Not long after Enzo arrived and Y/N/E now introduced Elijah to her friend and the new owner.
"Well, if you leave the old menu and maybe add something I will sure come here when I can. The military food is good enough, but this is very much like home cooking. Reminds me so much of home."
"And home is?" - Enzo asked.
"New Orleans." - Elijah replied.
"OMG. Love the Big Easy. Caroline, dreams of a Honeymoon there."-Enzo said.
Y/N/E now remembered it and  shot - "She is giving you hints again! It's time you proposed."
"I am."- Enzo now got the little box out now.
"Wow. You bought the ring?!" - Y/N/E said enthusiastically.
"Yeah, and when she gets here. I will propose on her birthday. That’s the plan."
"Really? This is so great! But you know that she is having a themed disco birthday party. The 70s!"- Y/N/E reminded her friend.
"Yes, of course. I want to do it in front of all our friends cuz you all were going on about it for the last 10 years."
"More than ten years"- Y/N/E said-"You've been together since you were 16."
"And we got together on the 70s dance!" - Enzo remembered the night he finally plucked up courage to tell Caroline how he felt about her.
"Omg, yeah. I forgot. Oh, it's going to be perfect." - Y/N/E gushed. Her eye then caught Elijah sitting quietly sipping his coffee.
"I am sorry- I didn't mean to be rude- we haven't seen each other for a long time and - there is so much happening."
"Hey- no big. I can see. It's totally fine. Anyway, I have a class at 11:00 and need to get changed for it. Today is also our test flight at 14:00, so I will see you at the hanger, Sunny."- Elijah stood up-"I'll get these."
Elijah now turned to Enzo congratulating him on him proposing to his long standing girlfriend and wished him good luck. He then went, getting on his bike, driving away speedily.
Y/N/E felt bad because she lost herself chatting with Enzo. But it was the talk of proposal that cut Elijah and dampened his mood. 🚫
At the baracks, Angel met Elijah as they were about to go to the class asking him about the coffee.
"Good." - Elijah replied without any particular emotion, kind of absent-minded.
"I knew this would turn out bad."- Angel said-"she kicked you to the curb, right?"
"No. She was actually nice. It was really good."
"So,what's with the face then?"
"Nothing. We got to go to the class." - Elijah said and shut down.
Angel just shook his head.
Later, at the hanger, Y/N/E came to Elijah and apologized for leaving him kind of dry at the diner.
"Hey, don't sweat."
"Ok. Ahm, Enzo is having an official opening cuz he is the new owner of Mystic Ocean, too -and - I'd like to buy you a drink - to say sorry."
"Yeah, ok." - Elijah accepted a smile curling up at the end of his mouth.
"Saturday, 20:00, and it's a kareoke night." - Y/N/E said putting a little smile on.
Elijah now smiled back at Y/N/E understanding the hint. Suddenly, his heart perked up and the world had a sunny outlook.
____
Later that evening Mystic Ocean bar
Damon, Kai, Y/N/E and Enzo sat down together and it nearly felt like a school reunion. Caroline was on facetime.
"Oh, I hate that I can't be there right now. But I am definitely there on Saturday, even though I have to get back to L. A. to wrap up things here. Can't wait to be with you guys. Oh, and prepare yourself for the craziest birthday party ever. It's not every day I turn 30. Ok. Got to go now. Don't have too much fun."
Everyone said in one voice that they won't, which was not true.
In L. A. Caroline now went to the bathroom and took another pregnancy test.
She looked at the stick, which was the fifth she took.
"And - you're pregnant, girl." - she muttered to herself. She smiled a bit. She was happy, but with her and Enzo having bought the new businesses, this was not the ideal time to have a baby. But, this was Caroline. Life and challenges were her speciality. She knew Enzo loved her to bits and they got through thick and thin, starting from zero, and worked hard to get where they were now.
She now sent Y/N/E a message to call her when she came home, writing -
Y/N/E saw the message and read-
"Code red."  That meant there was something serious to discuss.
Kai, Damon and Enzo were now discussing Care's coming birthday party and the 70s theme.
"Don't tell me she is going to make us wear glitter." - Kai said.
"Yes" - Enzo replied-"and if you don't come properly dressed, no free booze."
"Well, I know I will do a Billy Idol" - Damon said.
"She specifically said Disco!" - Enzo remarked-"and isn't Billy Idol 80s?"
"So 80s."- Y/N/E said-"remember Matt dying his hair blonde to be Billy Idol"
And from there on, it was remember this and remember that, which also brought loads of memories of Stefan back. But strangely, Y/N/E could speak about him and not feel her heart clump up as it would have done a year ago.
Later as they were leaving the bar, Damon said this-
"For the first time in a long time we talked about him and it felt - I don't know how to say it - good, but I was not feeling like my heart was going to burst that he was gone, and could not be here with us."
"He is always with us. We should talk about him. Because if we don't it's like he was never here, and - I don't that. He was everything to me."-Y/N/E said.
"Does that mean - ok- I am all for you starting to date someone else-"
"What? I am not dating anybody." - Y/N/E now said.
"It's ok, YN/E. Hey, You don't need my or anybody's permission to start dating again."
"Oh, Enzo told you" - Y/N/E now clicked where this was coming from.
"He just mentioned that you had coffee with one of the pilots. But don't get mad with Enzo now for - telling us."
"I just had coffee with him. And it was work related."- Y/N/E kind of defended herself-"and you guys are like High School revisited."
Y/N/E went off at Damon, and he knew her so well as she would not be so defensive if there was not something going on.
"Omg. I think you've fallen for the guy. "- Damon said.
"Shut up, Damon."
Y/N/E was clearly not in the mood and Damon let it be.
In the car, Y/N/E, not wanting to think about what Damon voiced out, now called Caroline, who, of course had spoken to Enzo as well, and now brought up the coffee with the Lieutenant.
"I just had Damon on my case. Can I not just have a coffee with a guy?"
"Ah, you had a coffee with a guy! Nothing big?! Right!? You never have coffee with just a guy! This so means something." - Caroline now went on, letting it off.
Y/N/E now said that it was work related and that she could not talk about it, cause it was classified.
"Ok. But can you at least describe him. You know Enzo, he just said, a navy officer and that he owned a Norton Commander bike"
"Enzo is right. He is just a navy guy. I've seen hundreds of them and taught hundreds of them. Nothing special." - Y/N/E replied.
"Ugh! You can be so - ugh sometimes."
"Is that code red - wanting to know about my coffee?"
"Ahm, yeah and no. I - should've called it code blue. Cuz I'm pregnant!" - Caroline now shot out.
"You what? Omg!" - Y/N/E was bummed, but happily bummed - "This is so great."
"Talking about classified stuff. Enzo doesn't know yet. I want to tell him at my birthday. I want to surprise him."
"Right. Ok. Top secret it is."
Y/N/E now thought of Enzo having a surprise of her own prepared. Y/N/E now felt like a double agent.
The women now went gushing over the news.
This was the good news they all needed, as there was plenty of heartache for Caroline, as well having lost her mom to cancer when she graduated from High School. And having to fend through, working at the same diner, she part owned now, putting herself through business school.
⚠️
At the baracks
Elijah was on the phone, talking to his sister Rebekah.
"I have 4 days off and I am flying down to see you."
"Wow, are you serious? It's a long flight from Australia. I won't be able to see you much. Only in the evening." - Elijah said.
"I don't care. Cuz I will have nothing free till Christmas and God knows where you will be sent next. And I want to hear what the hell happened with Hayley? What was this message that she got married?!" - Rebekah said.
Elijah sighed a little now saying - "Tell you about it when you get here. Though it's not worth it."
They now chatted a little bit about their mom and her new husband.
⚠️
The days that followed where all about work and their duties.
Both Elijah and Y/N/E, as well as Angel and Buffy were keeping it very professional. Whatever was going on inside of them was kept under wraps, and they solely concentrated on work.
For Angel, it was a great exercise to show restraint and keep it together. His heart was even more in love with Buffy than ever before. Elijah, who first claimed that he would not let any of his feeling be stirred again by any woman, was now day in and day out, completely shaken by Y/N/E. How she got under his skin so fast was mind-boggling. Angel still maintained the theory that this was  all about the rebound feelings, but Elijah was not sure. This woman moved him in ways not other had done before.
Flashback
Angel came up to Elijah as he now said bye to Y/N/E after discussing the flight. He stood gazing at Y/N/E like he was lost in a dream.
“You’re gone.”- Angel said-”but you know now about her fiancé. Stefan Salvatore.”
“I know. Damn! She had one too many heartbreaks.”- Elijah sighed and said-”I wish I could - make it better.”
“You - you have fallen her”
“She is everything - beautiful, smart, funny - and she loves planes - engines - I can talk to her for hours about it and she will not be bored.”
“I know exactly how you feel.”- Angel said.
____
A few days later
Y/N/E was still at her office working on the design ideas as Elijah knocked at the door.
"Hello" - Y/N/E looked up as he came in.
"How can I help you, Lt. Mikaelson?"
" I have completed the sheet with your questions, M'am. "- Elijah said now handing Y/N/E the paper.
" Ah, thank you."- Y/N/E took it.
"Working late?!"- Elijah remarked.
"Yes."- Y/N/E replied briefly just look at Elijah in a awkward kind of manner. It was like she lost the power of speech for a moment. Her eyes where like - is there something else you wanted? I am busy here.
Elijah got the strange vibe off of her and now nodded a little saying -
"I will see you."
Y/N/E nodded and Elijah left the office.
Y/N/E sat down to continue the work, but she could not concentrate. Slamming back at the chair she rubbed her face with her hands, exhaling deep. What the hell was that? All week she was fine around him. And now - she was like a teenager, from one moment to the next, she lost it. She closed the laptop and gathered all her things, and left the office.
And, then like a curse had set in on her, the Porsche now didn't want to start. She tried over and over, but it was not budging.
Frustrated, she now got out and put the hood up. She knew about plane engines, and all the supersonic stuff, and she soon could diagnose that the battery was flat.
Put the hood down, she nearly jumped seeing Elijah standing there-
"OMG- you scared the Hell out of me."- Y/N/E now said.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to. Just saw you with the hood up. Can I help?"
"No. Battery is dead. I will have to get it towed in the morning. I am going to get a taxi." - Y/N/E said.
"I can take you. If  - that's ok?" - Elijah offered.
"You're fine. I’ll get a taxi." - Y/N/E said feeling now again the fuzziness rise up in her.
"It takes forever for them to get put here. Really it is not a problem."
Y/N/E knew that this was the most sensible idea, and nodded now as a yes.
She now got her laptop and her bag out of the car.
Elijah now gave her his helmet, and he put his pilot one on.
"Ok? "- Elijah said as he got on the bike, and Elena as well.
"Yep."- Y/N/E answered as she now circled her arms around his waist.
A second later they drove off.
Tumblr media
Y/N/E tried so hard for her heart not to give her out as she now could not control it anymore. Her temperature was surely rising being so close to him.
❤️I'm so into you, I can barely breathe And all I wanna do is to fall in deep
But close ain't close enough 'til we cross the line So name a game to play, and I'll roll the dice, hey
Having reached the destination, meaning the apartment block where Y/N/E lived, she now thanked the handsome Lieutenant for the ride.
"Any time." - Elijah said.
"Yeah. I - will see you - tomorrow. Good night."
"Good night." - Elijah said back and - they stood there looking at one another like enchanted, her trying desperately to calm her heart that was feeling a thousand butterflies swarm up.
Oh baby, look what you started The temperature's rising in here Is this gonna happen? Been waiting and waiting for you to make a move Before I make a move💖

Ruination Rewrite: Shurima
Shurima Part I
In a flash of light, you, Lucian and Rengar find yourselves standing in a large, rectangular chamber. The place is immaculately kept compared to most of the previous outposts you’ve been to and dimly lit by the glow of candles.
Lucian: “Looks like we’re in luck. This place doesn’t seem like it was hit as bad other outposts, and the candles are a sure sign that someone’s been here recently.”
“It’s pretty quiet though.”
“Hello!? Anyone here?”
No one responds. The outpost seems completely vacant, until…
Rengar: “What was that!?”
Rengar wheels around toward the entrance, readying his blades. You and Lucian follow his gaze to see a hooded figure standing in the doorway, pointing a weapon at you.
“A thief!?”
“Uh, hi… We’re looking for Sentinels?”
??? response 1: “Ha! That is amusing! You have come into MY home unannounced, so clearly YOU must be the thieves here.”
??? response 2: “Looking for Sentinels, you say? Well, you have found me. A shame you will not return to your masters tell the tale.”
Lucian: “Hold on! You’re saying that YOU’RE a Sentinel, took?”
The hooded figure cocks his head an examines you more closely. He lowers his gun as realization seems to dawn on him. Suddenly, the stranger steps forward and lowers his hood.
???: “Well, well! Judging by your clothes and weapons, unless those are also stolen, it seems that you are not mere thieves after-all.”
Lucian: “Hell no we’re not! We’re Sentinels, same as you.”
Akshan: “Ah, how fortunate for you! If you were anyone else, I might have shot you dead! Ah, but where are my manners? Please, call me Akshan.”
You and the others quickly introduce yourselves.
Lucian: “Listen, Akshan, we need to talk to your commanding officer. Any idea where we can find them?”
Akshan: “Ah… I am afraid you are out of luck, my friend. My mentor… She is dead at the moment.”
Lucian: “…At this point, I’m not even surprised. Damn it.”
Akshan: “Ah, but do not worry! She will live again soon, once I find the scoundrel responsible for her death!”
Lucian: “…Come again?”
“Hang on, I recognize that weapon!”
“Wait, take a closer look at his grappling hook! Is that…?”
Akshan: “Ah, so you recognize this? Indeed, is it a legendary Sentinel weapon, one with the power to restore the dead to life: the Absolver!”
Rengar: “So this is the ‘secret weapon’ spoken of by the warden?”
Lucian: “The Absolver… So it’s true? It can bring the dead back to life?”
Akshan: “Yes, but… Not without a price.”
“What sort of price?”
“Well that sounds ominous.”
Akshan: “Haha, worry not, my young friend! You see, the Absolver can only restore the lives of those who have been wrongly killed. All one has to do is find the killer, slay them with this weapon, and that scoundrel’s victims will be returned to life!”
Lucian: “Tch… Guess it would be too easy if there wasn’t a catch. All of this still founds pretty far-fetched to me, though. How do we know this thing even works?”
Akshan: “You doubt me? Well then, I suppose you will have to witness it for yourselves! I was just preparing to set out in search of Shadya’s killer! Once I find and kill them, my mentor will return to life, and all will be well.”
Rengar: “So it’s a hunt then? In that case, we should join him!”
Lucian: “Well, guess it can’t hurt, since we’re already here. In that case, lead the way, Akshan. Show us that this Absolver is all it’s cracked up to be.”
Akshan: “Wonderful! Follow me, but do try to keep up!”
Akshan fires his grappling hook and pulls himself up out the open window.
Lucian: “You heard him, Sentinels! After him!”
Shurima Part II
You follow Akshan as he grapples across the dunes, his sights set on a city in the distance. By the time you reach the gates, you find yourself nearly out of breath, though Akshan is calmly leaning against the wall, inspecting his weapon.
Akshan: Ah, it seems you slowpokes have finally arrived! I was just about to go on without you.”
“Why does… The Absolver… Have a grappling hook anyway!?”
“Just give me… A minute…”
Akshan response 1: “Oh, that? That is my own addition to the weapon. Impressive, no?”
Akshan response 2: “A short rest, friend. After that, we do not stop until the scoundrel is caught!”
Rengar: “Such nimble prey… It is a shame YOU are not my target.”
Akshan ignores Rengar’s comment and turns his attention toward a large building near the center of the city.
Akshan: “There. That is the home of the Viper, a warlord who has claimed control of the entire region. I am certain that she is the one who killed Shadya.”
Lucian: “What makes you so sure?”
Akshan: “Shadya was… A brave woman. Strong. Defiant. She put her Sentinel duties above all else. She fended off countless thieves and scoundrels seeking to plunder the outpost for Relics, once even driving off acolytes of Xerath himself. She was a hero, but she made many powerful enemies. The Viper was one of them.”
“She sounds like an incredible person.”
“She sounds like a true Sentinel.”
Akshan: “She was… But you will see for yourself soon enough. Now then, to the palace!”
Akshan takes the lead once more, grappling through the city streets. He leads you through alleyways and across rooftops, finally bringing you around to the back of the palace. In the blink of an eye, Akshan dispatches a pair of guards with a boomerang strapped to his built.
Akshan: “Ha! This is almost too easy.”
Suddenly, the sky above you turns dark. You look up to see a massive cloud of Black Mist forming above the palace. In an instant, the whole building as beset by wraiths as the Harrowing descends upon the city.
Lucian: “You had to say something!?”
Rengar: “The Black Mist! This is the Ruined King’s doing, yes?”
Akshan: “Who?”
Lucian: “You’re kidding, right? Viego? The Ruined King? Lord of the Shadow Isles? He’s the whole damn reason the Sentinels exist!”
Akshan: “Never heard of him, but to be honest I never paid much attention to Shadya’s history lessons.”
“But why would the Black Mist show up here all of a sudden?”
“If the Mist is here, then there must be a fetter inside the palace!”
Lucian response 1: “Only one reason the wraiths would come to a place like this: there must a fetter inside!”
Lucian response 2: “My thoughts exactly, Rook! We need to get inside that palace!”
Akshan: “Well then, enough talk! We are what we do!”
Akshan grapples his way up through the window, leaving the rest of you to make your way inside by himself.
Lucian: “Dunno what he meant by that, but he’s right! Sentinels, let’s get in there and find that fetter!”
Shurima Part III
You race into the palace, only to find the building already under siege. The guards cry out as they are beset by wraiths, and many of the palaces residents are struggling to escape in all the chaos.
Lucian: “Weapons free, Sentinels!”
Lucian and Rengar carve a path through the undead, blasting and cutting down any wraiths that stand in their path. You follow close behind, occasionally flashing your Relicstone shard at any ghosts that get too close.
Rengar: “Hahahaha! I am the apex hunter once more! It is only a shame I cannot claim these wraiths’ heads to mount my wall!”
Lucian: “Focus, cat! We need to find that fetter before anyone else does! Rookie, can you tell which way the Mist is flowing?”
Your eyes scan the surrounding corridors, watching the movements of the Mist carefully. You quickly noticed that the wraiths seem to filling a corridor on your right, making for a large open room.
“There! The Mist is heading that way!”
“If I had to guess, I’d say the fetter is in that room!”
Lucian: “Got it!”
Lucian and Rengar quickly take point, lighting up the hallway with their weapons. You follow them into what appears to be a massive art gallery, filled with elaborate paintings and ornate pottery. Your gaze darts around the room in search of the fetter, only to fall upon a familiar figure at the other end.
Vex: “So this is it, huh Shadow? Ugh, I guess it must be. It’s so… Girly.”
Vex lifts a decorative plate covered in floral patters off of one of the displays.
“Vex!”
“She’s got the fetter!”
Vex: “What the- Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me. You guys again?”
Lucian: “Drop the fetter, yordle!”
Vex: “Honestly, I’m tempted to. This thing almost hurting my eyes with how sweet it is, but Viego needs it to turn the world dark and ugly. Also, the name’s Vex, not that you care.”
Rengar: “It does not matter! Soon, you will be dinner!”
Rengar chucks a bola from his belt, but Vex’s shadow effortlessly snatches it out of the air.
Vex: “Alright, I wasn’t in the mood to talk anyway. I’m not really in the mood to fight, either. So, you can all just… Stop.”
Your eyes widen in alarm as you realize what’s about to happen, but you’re too late to evade it. Vex’s shadow stretches across the ground and extends beneath your feet, trapping you and your allies in place.
Vex: “Come to think of it, aren’t there usually more of you? Eh, whatever. I’m not sticking around to get ambushed again.”
Vex hops through an open window with the fetter in hand. Moments later, the shadow disappears, freeing you and your allies once more.
Lucian: “Damn! We gotta go after her!”
Rengar: “Bah! Yordles are hardly worthy prey, but I will make an exception this once!”
You hurry out the window in pursuit of Vex, dashing into the Mist-filled streets in pursuit of the fetter.
Shurima Part IV
You run as fast as your legs can carry you, but Vex remains a step ahead, rounding corners and ducking under spaces only someone of her stature could fit through. To make matters worse, you find yourself constantly slowed down by screaming citizens and howling wraiths. It’s not long before you lose sight of Vex completely.
“It’s like Buhru all over again!”
“I don’t see her anymore!”
Suddenly, a familiar figure lands on the ground in front of you, effortlessly dispatching a pack of wraiths with his boomerang.
Akshan: “We meet again, friends! Have you seen a wicked-looking woman covered in snake tattoos? I’m afraid the Viper managed to slip away during all the commotion, but I believe I saw her come this way.”
Lucian: “Forget about her! Vex got away with the fetter, and we’ve lost sight of her!”
Akshan: “Who has gotten away with the what now?”
Lucian: “Ugh, nevermind! Look, we need you to grapple up and see if you can spot a yordle with a giant shadow following her.”
Akshan: “No can do! I must catch the Viper’s trail before it grows cold!”
Lucian: “Your warlord can wait! If that yordle gets away, the Ruined King will get even more powerful!”
Akshan: “I am afraid that is not my concern.”
“How can you say that? Aren’t you a Sentinel?”
“Listen to yourself! Would Shadya approve that decision?”
Akshan: “…Shadya was indeed a great Sentinel, and she would put the fate of the world over her own desires in a heartbeat. However, that is not who I am. If my mentor disapproves, she can scold me about it later!”
Akshan grapples away and vanishes into the rooftops, leaving the three of you alone.
“Fine! Why counted on you anyway!?”
“So you’re running away, just like that!?”
Rengar: “Let him go. He has his hunt, and we have ours.”
Lucian: “Cat’s right. Can’t say I approve, but we need to pick up that yordle’s trail!”
You resume your hunt through the city, relying on Rengar’s keen instincts and honed senses to try and pick up Vex’s trail again. Eventually, you manage to track her to the outskirts of the city, where Vex has summoned another shadowy portal.
Lucian: “Hold it!”
Lucian dashes toward the portal and fires a single burst of light with both guns. The portal dissipates in an instant, leaving Vex all by herself in the desert.
Vex: “Oh. My. Gosh. You guys just don’t give up, do you?”
“Nope!”
“We’ve got you cornered now!”
Vex: “Ugh, do you have any idea how annoying that relentless optimism thing is? Alright, fine. I guess I’m not getting out of here until I deal with you three, so…”
Vex’s shadow grows slightly larger behind her, its eyes taking on a menacing glare.
Vex: “Let’s just get this over with!”
Shurima Part V
Light and shadow clash openly in the desert. The sands shift and the air rings out with the sounds of spells, blades and gunfire. Lucian and Rengar move so swiftly that your eyes struggle to follow them both, but Vex holds them at bay with dark magics.
Lucian: “Damn! Rookie, you wanna pitch in here?”
“Vex, why do are you working with Viego?”
“I don’t get it, aren’t yordles supposed to be more positive?”
Vex: “Ugh, you sound like my parents! ‘You should smile more, Vex. You’d be happier if you wore brighter colors, Vex.’ Shut up! All I want is a world where everything is dark and gloomy! A world where Shadow and I can just be ourselves without anyone judging us!”
Suddenly, Vex hurls a lob of darkness at you, knocking you back into the sand.
Lucian: “Rookie! You alri- OOF!”
Vex’s shadow lashes out at Lucian, sending him flying back as well. Rengar lets out a might roar as he lunges at Vex, only for the shadow to grab him out of the air and chuck him through the air. The hunter lands right next to you, a growl of annoyance leaving his throat.
Rengar: “It seems that yordles are fiercer than I imagined…”
Vex: “You guys really oughta get a clue. I mean, do you really think you can beat Viego? Just because there’s more of you? Even YOU guys can’t be that dense.”
You, Lucian and Rengar struggle to your feet in front of Vex, readying yourselves for another round.
“It’s not about whether or not we CAN beat him. We HAVE to!”
“You may want a darker future, Vex, but we’re fighting for a brighter one!”
“We’re Sentinels of Light! We never give up!”
Lucian: “The kid’s right! We’ll keep pushin’ back the darkness ‘til the bitter end!”
Rengar: “I will mount the Ruined King’s head upon my wall!”
Vex: “Oh, wow, nice speech. Too bad your allies weren’t around to hear it. I wonder how they’re doing right about now…”
Lucian: “What do you mean?”
Vex: “Ugh, more questions. Forget it. You won’t be seeing them again anyway.”
Vex readies another spell, but before she can unleash it, a flurry of a Relic light rains down upon her shadow. Vex recoils as a familiar hooded figures descended from a nearby rock formation, landing gracefully in the sands before you.
Akshan: “Hello, friends. I hope I have not kept you long.”
“Akshan!”
“What are you doing here?”
Akshan response 1: “Yes, it is I! feel free to applause!”
Akshan response 2: “Is it not obvious? I am here to aid you in your time of need!”
Rengar: “What about your prey? Did you lose the trail?”
Akshan: “Well… Not exactly. I thought about what you all said before, about a Sentinel’s duty and my mentor’s wishes. Shadya would want me to help you, even if it means letting the Viper go… For now. Besides, there is little point in bring her back to a world ruled by undeath!”
Lucian: “Glad to see you came around. Now, let’s take this yordle down together and grab that fetter!”
Lucian, Akshan and Rengar resume their battle stances, but Vex merely stands and dusts herself off, unimpressed.
Vex: “You know, for all this talk of ‘comradery’ or whatever, you guys sure don’t have any trouble leaving your friends to fend for themselves.”
“What are you talking about?”
“What do you know about our friends?”
Vex: “Oh come on, you haven’t figured it out yet?”
Vex holds up the plate, almost mockingly.
Vex: “Come on, use your heads for once. This is the last fetter, meaning that the only ones Viego hasn’t gotten yet are the ones you guys had in your base. Why do you think I came to get this one by myself?”
Realization slowly washes over you, followed by dread. You think back to Thresh’s words in Kumungu.
Thresh: “…You have lost nearly every battle and acquired only a single fetter for your efforts. In time, the king will storm your headquarters and render that small victory moot.”
Lucian: “…Rookie, fire up the Wayfinder. We’re going back.”
“It could be a bluff!”
“But she still has the fetter!”
Lucian response 1: “I’m not risking it! Get us out of here, now!”
Lucian response 2: “I don’t care! We need to get back and make sure Senna’s alright! The others, too!”
On Lucian’s orders, you pull the Wayfinder from your belt and raise it skyward, letting its light wash over you. Vex gives you one last knowing smirk as the desert around you disappears in a flash.

Runeterra Retcons: Ruination Episode (Shurima)

Rengar: “Bah! Yordles are hardly worthy prey, but I will make an exception this once!”
You hurry out the window in pursuit of Vex, dashing into the Mist-filled streets in pursuit of the fetter.

You run as fast as your legs can carry you, but Vex remains a step ahead, rounding corners and ducking under spaces only someone of her stature could fit through. “How can you say that? Aren’t you a Sentinel?”

Vex gives you one last knowing smirk before the desert around you disappears in a flash.

Troll Hunter
Characters: Hunter!Reader x Winchester Brothers.
O/C: Castiel, Hank the witness + mystery Easter characters.
Warnings: None
Words: 1700
A/N: This is for @sleepywinchester ’s URL writing challenge. I hope you enjoy reading it, as much as I did writing it. Ps. This story is now head cannon for me.
Summary: The reader and Team Free Will take a case in Sun Valley, Arizona, when there are a string of missing people and eye-witness accounts of a Mountain Troll.
“I swear… It was ten foot tall and one ugly son of a gun” the redneck stated, distraught as he cradled his riffle and took a swig from his flask.
“It had a moustache"….“And the dang thing took my best breeders”.
“Your breeders?” Dean prompted, leaning forward with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah, those cows have won best in show for five years running. What am I going to do now?” The man took another drink and wiped a tear from the corner of one eye.
Dean rolled his eyes and shot a familiar look of contempt to Sam.
“We’re very sorry for your loss”. Sam gave the man a sympathetic expression.
“We’ll do everything we can to find your cattle. Is there anything else you can tell us?”
“Well, after barging through my fence and cow-lifting, it headed in that direction”, he explained pointing West.
“Also, he had one of those water rescue hoops stuck around one of his legs”
“Is there a lake or swimming pool around here?”, you chipped in as you pulled out your phone to get a map of the area.
“No, but there is a reservoir and boat house up by the forest” he stated as he sat down on a tree stump.
“Found it. Jack’s Shack. It’s about two miles north west of here. Just off Route 66.” Putting the phone back in your pocket, you gazed back at the depressed man.
“Thank you for your time Hank" you said, reaching to the other pocket and retrieving a card.
“Here’s my number. If it comes back, please call us straight away”.
“Of course” he sighed.
You then motioned to Sam and Dean to walk with you.
Reaching the car, you and stood at the passenger side of Baby, as Dean walked to the Drivers door and propped his hands on the roof.
“What do we know that is ten foot and has a craving for cow?” Dean asked, lifting his eyes to access his internal memory of Supernatural lore.
“With a moustache”, you added playfully.
“Get this, there have been accounts of Trolls in the surrounding area, dating back to the 50’s". Sam suggested, genuinely thinking it a possibility.
“Seriously?” Dean snorted sarcastically.
“Yeah, no it could be a Troll….. Or a Giant. No! It’s Bigfoot” he snided with fake realisation.
“We should check this place out, regardless”. Sam urged, knowing that this was the only solid lead.
“Alright, fine”, Dean responded. “I’ll tell Cas to meet us there.”
———–
Arriving at the Boat House, you could see Castiel waiting for you guys outside.
The three of you immediately stepped out of the impala, eager to escape the remnants of Dean’s broken wind.
“Hello Dean” Cas spoke in a low and calm tone. “Sam, Y/N, good to see you” he nodded.
I’ve already checked the building. There’s no sign of anyone, but the back door was left open".
Dean strolled to the boot, propping it up with a shotgun. “So, somebody left in a hurry” he said, as he changed the cartridge in his favourite pistol.
“There’s no sign of a struggle though", Sam interjected. He looked to the distance in every direction.
“What are we even looking for?” Castiel asked, feeling uninformed of the situation.
“A giant, beef-loving Mexican” you spoke seriously, knowing that it would puzzle him.
He scrunched his face and looked to Sam for reassurance. “What did the man do?”
Sam’s amusement was clear, as a wide smile plastered his face.
“We’re looking for something tall and hairy” he explained. “With a moustache” he added, motioning to you.
Dean joined the congregation, passing Sam a gun and giving you your hand-decorated angel blade.
He gave a friendly roll of his eyes at the happy giggle that escaped you, receiving the masterpiece.
Splitting up to search the surrounding area, you and Castiel went right, whilst Sam and Dean went left.
Castiel stayed within a short distance of you, watching the background and turning occasionally to check behind.
You walked past a grouping of large boulders. They were shaped like eggs and had strange markings around them like ribbons. They were also circling a small mound of disturbed earth.
Your investigation was interrupted by a manly scream, followed by inaudible shouting.
It sounded like Dean. You and Castiel both shared a worried look before he stepped forward and grabbed the collar of your jacket.
Your thoughts and perception were warped as you moved through space, landing in the vicinity of the brothers.
Never in your wildest dreams could you have imagined who or what was waiting for you.
Dean and Sam both had their weapons drawn, aiming at a human-sized rabbit and two large hairy creatures either side of it.
The two creatures stood straight with their arms crossed and looked very frustrated.
The rabbit was poised, gripping a boomerang in his right hand.
“Alright…Take it easy mate”, the rabbit spoke, sounding Australian and looking directly at Dean.
“What the cuss is going on?” you asked, taking small steps towards both parties in the standoff.
“Who are you?” Sam sternly questioned.
“Who do you think!” he said sarcastically.
“I’m Bunnymund". Pausing for a second, he continued. “The Easter Bunny”…
Sam pulled back and put his gun away. “Your the Easter bunny?” he asked with disbelief.
“Nuh uh” Dean said, shaking his head. He lowered his gun and started pacing, trying to register the situation.
You had no words, just standing and gawping at the giant, talking rabbit.
“Then who are these hipsters?” Dean asked, pointing to the hairy creatures. The one on the left took offense from his outburst and gave an angry grunt. “They’re Yeti, from the North Pole. They work for Santa”, he said casually. “Oh, come on!… Really?…. Santa?” Dean waved his hands and gun in frustration and refusal.
“Santa’s real” Sam gasped. He continued, “well, if Elves and fairies exist"….
Castiel walked up to the Yeti closest to him. His face was portraying curiosity, stunned himself, to learn of their existence.
He placed a hand on the Yeti’s head to read it.
The Yeti raised it’s fluffy eyebrows in confusion and pushed Castiel’s hand away slowly.
Watching the interaction, you couldn’t help but laugh with amusement. This seemed to diffuse the tension in the atmosphere.
So, who are you? And what are you doing here?“ Bunny questioned, looking between the four of you.
“I’m Sam, this is Dean, (y/n), and Cas. He’s an Angel and we’re hunters”, he explained.
“Hunters!” The bunny exclaimed. “One of your lot killed Tooth!” His anger was evident, as he was being restrained by his companions.
You and Sam shared a look, instantly knowing that he was referring to Garth.
This seemed to infuriate Dean as he shouted back. “Hey! Firstly, we’ve never killed a ‘tooth’ and second; your friends here have been taking innocent people”.
The Yeti’s both gave a defensive moan at the accusation. Bunny furrowed his brows before coming to a realisation.
“The Yeti’s didn’t take them, it was Pitch”.
All four of you stood silently, waiting for elaboration. Bunny sighed when he realised that he was going to have to give you the crash course.
“Pitch Black is the bogeyman, who is creating an army of nightmare Trolls in order to destroy us Guardians and fill the children of the world with fear.
This tsunami of information had left you and Sam gobsmacked. Dean had only focused on the first fact.
“The bogeyman” he whispered in a high pitched tone. “Sammy” he quickly called, looking to his little brother. “What do you know about this?”
“Not much" Sam replied, running a hand through his long hair.
“It’s just a bedtime story from the dark ages". He lifted his head to ponder through his memory. “Actually, Bobby did mention it in his hunting guide”.
“Oh, he’s real alright” Bunny chimed in.
“Okay” you stated with your hands raised, gaining everyone’s attention. “What the heck are Nightmare Trolls, and how do we fight them?”
“He infected one of the Yetis with his nightmares and found a way to clone it.”
“So, how do we stop them?” Sam queried.
“By finding the original Yeti” Bunny said informatively. “His name is Phil”.
“How would we know which one is Phil?” Dean asked sheepishly.
"That’s why these two are here” he explained, using his paws to point either side of him.
"So, where do we start looking?” You asked, eager to find the Bogeyman.
“Well…” Bunny started, “we chased a Nightmare Troll here before running into you guys. It must’ve found a tunnel into the Warren”.
“Okay” Sam prompted, unsure of what the Warren was. “Let’s start there”.
Bunnymund gave a wicked smirk before tapping his large, fluffy foot against the ground.
The earth began to rumble and give way, leaving a wide hole that was dark and never ending.
“After you” Bunny gestured to the four of you. Castiel stepped up to the edge to inspect the hole.
Looking back up with reluctance on his face, he said to Dean “summon me when you get there” before fluttering out of sight.
Sam let out a huff of amusement at Castiel’s cowardice. The two Yeti then shared a grunt before jumping in with enjoyment.
Dean stumbled to the opening, glancing down and then turning back to Bunny.
“You’re crazy if you think I’m jumping down there” he spoke with caution.
“Don’t jump then” you said with a hint of sarcasm as you stepped forward and used both hands to push him in.
His girly scream soon faded before you gave an excited smile to Sam and jumped into the unknown.
Thanks for reading. Part 2 coming soon.
