I know fanfiction requires a lot of "Yes and-ing" and most of the times I'm all for it. Especially when it Makes Sense you know. I just cannot tolerate my blorbls being slightly off. they can either be balls to the walls completely different characters with just he name intact and I'll compromise or they are allowed to act exactly like I think they would. The middling territory is ick inducing.

That said amnesia plotlines are near and dear to my soul I love them (apparently part of the minority). I wish there were more. They always choose the easy way out through immediate angst of forgetting your soulmate and the hollowness of Being forgotten. that's so stupid

Where's the play along?? Where's the acting in the hopes of fooling the other party into believing you are who they wished you were?? The lying of recalling memories you don't have and the anticipation of being caught. The dawning realisation of the non-amnesiac learning about things their 'partner' does because they've forgotten who they are.....

Understanding that there are some things that simply weren't possible because of prior mistakes and the constant tightrope of trust between each other. mmmmm

As good friends, If Drake and LP ever did something publicly embarrassing, would one of them take the fall the help their friend save face?

Launchpad would, in a heartbeat, no questions asked.

He takes pride in the fact that he can be helpful and useful, so I have no doubt that he'd try to take the fall. It's not like it would bruise his ego, Launchpad is pretty humble. He's a great friend in every regard

DRAKE ON THE OTHER HAND...

I'm gonna be so real, he'd be VERY hesitant. This guy's ego is massive, the moment he makes an utter fool of himself he begins to doubt everything about himself 😭(as much as I love Drake, he's not the best bloke out there)

I don't think he'd take the fall every time, but once in a blue moon, he would. He'd be moody afterwards, but he cares for his friend so he'd just bite his tongue for once.

regardless of who did something embarrassing, Gosalyn would be there to bully either of them. Like the absolute menace she is.

Scott trying to be Derek is the FUNNIEST freaking thing.

Like, he nailed the whole "forebodingly stares and then vanishes" part. That part was really good. You've got something going for you, bud.

But then everything else....nope. Absolutely not. XD

Because the thing is, you can say the lines all you want, but honey, the intimidation...it's not your thing. It's really not. XD

Like, when you're being all wolfy--ESPECIALLY when you're angry and/or protecting those you care about--you are ALL kinds of tough, and ALL kinds of powerful and intimidating and bad*ss.

But...when you're being your normal, human self...you're too awkward baby. I'm sorry, but you are. And I ADORE that about you, but oh boy...in that moment, I was cringing right along with Stiles ("Scott, stop. Please, stop. Just...stop." XD).

That said, despite the lack of his own intimidation, the one thing that Scott has that Derek didn't have is a Stiles, so, by default, I'm sure they'll find their own (albeit chaotic) way to explain this whole thing to Liam and make sure he survives the full moon.

And then Scott can be Liam's Alpha (in his own way, because you're an amazing Alpha all on your own, baby, and you don't need to be Derek to be a good leader--you're perfect just the way you are <3), and he and Stiles can be Liam's parental figures, and it's all gonna be perfect.

But until then....

Update: As a very quick aside, I really appreciate the parallels and set-up this episode is giving us for what I vaguely know (spoilers plus context clues) will be the next little generation while still keeping all of the characters true to themselves: the Liam and Scott dynamic paralleling the Derek and Scott dynamic, but being very different in how it's handled due to their different personalities; the Mason and Liam dynamic being similar to the Scott and Stiles dynamic, but being hugely different in that (as far as I know) Mason doesn't find out about the werewolf thing for a WHILE; just based on that one interaction I saw, Garrett being a parallel for Jackson in a lot of ways. I feel like I can see all of that coming, and I can see what they're setting up, and they're doing a really good job with it, and I like it a lot. <3

Update Part 2: Re-watching that scene one more time to overanalyze the Sciles like I always do and I just... The way they're both there and, like, corner Liam. The way that Stiles gives Scott that little encouraging nod and then immediately drops his head in disappointment once Scott starts talking. The way Scott is trying so hard, but even he clearly doesn't believe himself. The way that, even when Stiles is scolding Scott and telling him to shut up, he still gives him that little supportive shoulder pat in this "A for effort, bud" when he crosses over to him. The way that Stiles looks like he's gonna blame Scott for the whole thing, but then fully acknowledges that he was an accomplice, because you know he always will be ("Just to clarify, Scott kidnapped you, okay? I...aided and abetted." XD). The way that Liam so confidently says that nothing's happening (because clearly he's fine if the GIANT BITE WOUND he had just healed magically, right? *raises an eyebrow at Liam*) and Scott and Stiles have matching "oh boy" expressions on their faces. The way that they both look at each other after with this "yeah we've got our work cut out for us with this one" after Liam walks away. XD Add to that Stiles calling Liam a "little runt" and I just... I JUST LOVE THEM OKAY?! LITERALLY THE BEST!! <3 <3 Anyways. XD <3

So why exactly was I cut from this picture in Tyler’s family’s memorial’s slideshow when I sent this picture to his dad, that’s where they got it from, and they completely erased me from it? The original on the right, the slideshow picture on the left, and a closeup in the centre to show the detail, that it was indeed the picture I sent to Tyler’s dad on June 14th, 2022, and that his aunt cut me out of this picture intentionally (probably to not offend his grandmother) for his memorial video/slideshow. Tyler would have hated the slideshow (from July of 2022). It would have been so easy to at least mention that he had a life partner in this whole thing, considering that his dad has been friends with me on facebook for years, but they intentionally left me out of the picture they included that had me in it, and they had easy access to other pictures, but decided intentionally to not include them because they have me in them. I know his dad didn’t mean any harm by sending the jump drive with the video-slideshow, but I do wonder what his aunt’s motivation was for cutting me out of that fucking photo.

I do know that Tyler would not have liked this slideshow, not even mentioning that they deadnamed him.

I love it. If youre too mean to Bruce online Tim and Babs will like, leak your internet history or something.

If someone is mean to Bruce within Cass's earshot, she'll do things like leave a tube of lipstick in his car for the man's wife to find.

Duke is the best though. With his ability to see just a liiittle bit into the future, he can wreak havoc on people before they even get a chance to upset Bruce. The problem is, the family can't exactly confirm that these people deserve it since they haven't actually done anything yet. But Duke wouldn't just trip someone into the dessert table for no reason, right? Right?

Scary boyfriend privilege? No. Scary sons privilege.

Bruce who can’t go anywhere without his newly adopted ward. He follows Bruce like a sunny shadow, grin always in place.

“Dick, can I hold your hand when we cross the street?”

Dick, very sweetly, “No.”

Bruce sighs, but accepts easily. Some guy scoffs at that and asks Bruce if he’ll let his kid just talk to him like that. His kid. His heart hurts in a very good way.

He’s about to say something, but Dick interrupts him, his teeth bared full, “Weren’t you on the news for hitting an old lady with your car?”

Bruce freezing. Dick goes back to his gameboy. They hold hands when they cross the street.

It’s both scary and comforting how little he changes when he’s an adult.

Jason, on the other hand.

Although he refuses to admit it, he does follow Bruce around, too, when his dad actually has to leave the manor. It’s when Alfred says he needs sun.

“You signed a contract, sir.”

Bruce sighing, “I signed it when I was 4. In black crayon. Those don’t count.”

Damian gasped, as if discovering a vile fact, sending an accusing glare Bruce’s way. “They don’t?”

Bruce needs an excuse to haul ass fast and that’s how Jason ends up chaperoning his socially awkward, disaster of a father in his quest to pick up food.

He’s a titanic presence next to Bruce, glaring off whoever stares a little too long or too appreciatively, strong arms crossed and his eyes hard and sharp.

Bruce gently taps his bicep and he hates the way he melts. “Do you want the chicken nuggets with or without apple slices?”

“Without.”

“Jay.”

“FINE.”

Give Jason his “he asked for No pickles” moment. It has to embarrass Bruce enough to jump in traffic, thought.

Damian has his own league and none of them can really compete with it. I think, during parent’s night, he drags Bruce off to proudly showcase his gallery of portraits.

Bruce is very moved when he realizes they’re almost all him.

There’s portraits of Dick, too, and Alfred, and a comically bad one of Tim. “Damian, they’re very beautiful. Thank you.”

“I painted them with the blood of your enemies.”

“…Thank you.”

It's not funny in the slightest when you project onto a character for a hc and someone says "That's not normal. That sounds like a mental block of some sort, (insert character) should take (projected character) to therapy."
