Wow, this movie has not been on my radar at all so going in I honestly didn't really expect anything from it and now I'm like "Why are not more people talking about this one???" Like, I don't know if it's just me but it may have snuck its way into my top movies for this year? Once it grabbed me, it had me. It's said by the director that they managed to film all of this in one continuous take, only attempting it 5 times before they got what became the end result, and all I can say is that if that's true, that's pretty damn amazing imo. Because this thing is the definition of a rollercoaster in movie form as far as I'm concerned. It's not flawless, but I really don't mind it. I do get some of the criticisms I've seen like it can feel repetitive at times and well, if you're someone who likes answers, you'll be sad to know you're not getting any of that with this movie. lol I personally was fine with that because this really just felt as though it was more about the ride and having you along with it. It took some ballsy moves like shifting the POV more than once and then that ending was like "Whoa okay." lol Btw this movie was serving visuals!! It was very striking at certain moments. Also, I've seen some people saying the acting was over-the-top at parts but for me? Perfectly fine. The performers were fearless, which you needed to pull something off like this. As I said, probably not perfect, but certainly impressive and felt rather refreshing so a bold experiment that turned out to be very worthwhile. This is a major win when it comes to a Shudder original in my book.
