AU where the OFA vestiges aren't just restricted to the dream shadow realm but actively hang out as ghosts in the real world. No one else can see them but Izuku.

The biggest change in the AU is that he has much shorter patience from both the ghosts constantly around him and the loss of sleep he's gotten from the ghosts having weird ass conversations at three in the morning.

Some of the ghosts are helpful and give him advice on his quirk or how to improve his fighting form, or answers on homework questions he's stuck on.

Some of them are... less helpful.

imagine the first time it happened. i’m currently torn between midoriya seeing the ofa users right away or it happening gradually and slowly.

right away:

the moment izuku swallows the hair, he is enveloped in goosebumps. confused, he looks up and flinches at what he saw.

flanking all might’s gaunt form were seven spectres, all of which were watching him. their bodies were almost transparent, the light passing through their beings, and yet izuku can feel their eyes tracking him.

“what-” he begins to say, wanting to ask all might if he knows that he’s attracting ghosts with him when they were moving close to him instead.

izuku, simply put, passes out.

slowly:

it starts after he gets accepted to UA. he’s on his way to 1a, bounding quietly in the hallways. when he rounds the corner, he sees a flash of light before his reflexes took over and he moves to the other side to avoid crashing to the person he saw.

“i’m sorry!” he says and the person in white (just...white. white hair and white face and white sweater and white pants. eyes hidden by his long bangs, smile small and yet it looks wrong. izuku doesn’t know what it is but something is off) waves his hand and walks away.

izuku continues to walk to class.

the next time it happens, it’s during the USJ attack. izuku, asui, and mineta are as safe as they could be on the ship. asui and mineta are conversing, talking about possible exit routes as izuku checks their resources.

“goddamn it kid,” someone swears behind him and izuku, heart thundering loudly within his chest, turns around, fist up, ready to fight only to see no one.

“huh,” izuku whispers, “the adrenaline’s getting to me.”

and it continues like that. the ofa ghosts pop up randomly, visible and audible only to izuku but fade away before he could meet them.

they finally meet after all might defeats afo. izuku saw them fly to him the moment all might said those words (“you’re next!”), as though attracted to something in him. this time, instead of seven spectres, another one follows. unlike the rest, it doesn’t have a concrete shape or face, just a yellow blob. izuku later learns it’s all might and after having a panic attack at the thought that all might’s dead (he’s not) the ofa ghosts finally explain how the quirk works.

izuku, again, passes out.

Host Todd Michael began the interview with a light probing into RetroVision’s upcoming projects to see if the DJ could offer us a sneak peek into what he’s been working on.

“I’ve been working on a lot of tracks, a lot of new stuff. I can’t really talk about [it], because it’s going to be pretty busy and big next year. And I’ve got some other collaborations.”

Michael then transitioned into the famous Take Five questions, described as “random, fun, serious,” to test RetroVision on his quick-fire answering skills, starting with the musician’s TV habits.

“I watch a lot of Netflix shows, Amazon Prime as well. I’m actually watching Brooklyn 99 and The Good Place. I’m a lot into funny series at the moment, but I’ve [also] been watching a lot of superhero series, like Marvel. There are not a lot of Marvel series anymore on Netflix, so I’m watching more funny things right now with shorter episodes.”

“Make food appear. Burgers and pizza.” RetroVision also offered a brief explanation: “I’d actually been working before I started making music, and when I started making music I was working at McDonald’s at the same time. I’d been working also in a pizza truck.

Michael continued the interview by asking for the weirdest behavior of RetroVision’s two dogs and one cat.

“Sometimes they just go crazy when you’re literally doing nothing, just watching TV, and one of them will just go crazy and want to have fun randomly.”
