Ngl I tried to do it super fluff but couldn't help myself making a disaster of birthday party 🤪��

Pairing: Inseong x reader

Word count: 1.1k words

Warnings: None! Just pure fluff

Genre: fluff, birthday drabble

Plot: This year, Inseong has let his birthday party in your hands. He has never been sure about it being a good idea but when you reassure him that the only one helping you out is Youngbin, all his worries faded away. Unfortunately, when the rest of the boys get so excited about taking part on Inseong's birthday party and you can't say no to them, the normal birthday party he expected turned into a random mess he would secretely enjoy way much more than he would ever admit.

“Promise it will be normal.” Those words Inseong told you a few weeks ago kept repeating in your head over and over again like a broken recording as you admired the room you and the rest of the boys have prepared for his birthday. “It’s not THAT messy, is it?” Dawon asked, kicking you out of your thoughts and standing next to you admiring the same room as you. You had no words to answer. You were actually speechless at how chaotic the decoration turned out even though you promised your boyfriend it would be a simple decoration. “Nah, it’s not that bad.” Chani said with a devilish smile plastered on his face.

The practice room has become a balloon room. It would be okay if they were birthday balloons but when the shop ran out of birthday balloons because of Dawon wanting to buy way too much and Rowoon had the amazing idea of buying random balloons just to fill up the room… Well, it was a detail that stood out. You could read “Happy anniversary!”, “Congratulations on your first kid!” and more random stuff like that in the majority of the balloons. If that wasn’t enough, Zuho got the idea of writing loving messages with lipstick on the mirror of the practice room. It was a good idea in the beginning until Hwiyoung started to write the messages with a permanent pen and Chani, once again, wanting to tease his older friend, wrote “You’re getting old hyung! Make sure to change your will before you die and leave something to your favorite maknae! Die soon! Ily!”. You could only take deep breaths before you lost it and killed everyone. And the icing on the cake comes when Taeyang arrives with the wrong cake and instead of you reading a “Happy Inseong Day!” you read “Welcome to the family baby boy!”

“He’s going to kill us, right?” You asked Youngbin in disbelief as you dropped yourself into the sofa. “There’s only two options. He laughs at how stupid we all are or he kills us. Let’s pray for it to be the first one.” Youngbin said, looking down at you. You had to admit it was a pretty random yet funny concept for his birthday.

A knock on the practice room door, knocked you out of your trance, making you jump in your spot on the sofa. “I’m here!” You heard a happy and familiar voice. As soon as you turned to face the door, you met the happy gaze your boyfriend had and witnessed how it turned into a confused look when he saw the little random universe you had created in the small room. “Happy birthday!” You said, probably too lowly, that if it wasn’t because of everyone being in complete silence, Inseong wouldn’t have heard you. “What the hell happened here?” He asked with a confused look as he walked in and got closer to the mirror to read the messages written on it. “Hyung, hyung, read that message from your right! It’s mine!” Chani said with the same devilish smile from earlier. “You little brat, start running before I get you.” Inseong announced with fierce eyes right after reading the youngest lovely message. “Do you like how it turned out?” Youngbin asked, slightly nervous to hear Inseong’s answer. “Come on hyung, is not that bad!” Dawon said. You could see Inseong turning around to face you, trying to read your expression and trying to find a good reason that explained the mess you have called a ‘birthday party’. “This is not what I used to call a birthday party...But I love it because you were the one planning it.” Inseong said with a small smile as he approached you to give you a hug. As soon as you felt his arms around your body, you could finally feel a relief that he, at least, didn’t hate it. Or at least, he didn’t show.

You had to admit, you spent a really good time playing random games and eating all kinds of snacks. It was even funny seeing his reactions to the different messages you and the boys have written in the mirror and, surprisingly, he seemed pretty chill when Hwiyoung confessed he used a permanent pen by accident. It was even funnier to see his reaction when he noticed the random balloons filling the room.

Soon, you were done with all the snacks and it was finally the moment to eat the cake. You were praying so hard for him to not freak out when he saw the message written on the cake. “Before opening, we need to tell you something.” You said, holding the cake still inside the box. “The cake is not the one we were supposed to get.” Youngbin said. “And when we noticed it was already too late to change it.” Taeyang added, avoiding eye contact with his older friend. “Guys, what can be worse than the message Chani wrote? It’s okay, don’t worry.” Inseong said calmly with that soft and reassuring smile that characterized him and that made you fall in love with him 3 years ago. You looked at Youngbin with a nervous look, waiting for him to give you green lights to remove the box that covered the cake.

You slowly started to remove the wrapper but before he could actually see the message, you felt a huge handful of cake cream drawing a random patron on your face. “What the hell?!” You said, letting go of the cake and whipping the cream from your eyes to see a happy Chani laughing in front of you revealing himself for the crime he has just committed. “You should thank me noona, I saved your ass once again.” He said laughing and running away from you. Fortunately, Inseong was laughing his lungs out at your figure covered in cream. “Come here babe, you have some face in my cake, let me whip it.” Inseong said, grabbing your hand and pulling you into his embrace. But as soon as your face got close to him, his tongue licked your cheek clean. “Hmm, chocolate cake! The only right thing you have chosen for the birthday party!” He joked, making you laugh as well.

Maybe it wasn’t the best birthday party and maybe you messed up a bit too much but the fact is that you all were able to enjoy the day to the full and now, everytime they practice, Inseong have encouraging messages written in the mirror. Well, except the Chani one but he still loved him.
