How they react to you suddenly kissing them â Dune preference
Characters: Gurney Halleck, Feyd-Rautha, Duncan Idaho, Stilgar, Count Rabban.
Warnings: Fluff, insecurity, brief mentions of biting and hair pulling.
Authors Note: I used to write preferences like this years ago, but I wanted to try writing some for my current fandoms :)
Gurney: When you close the gap between you and place your lips on his, he loses himself in the kiss before quickly coming back to his senses. He'd step away from you slightly, a part of him fearing that your affection is some kind of joke, or worse, that he's somehow taking advantage of you by accepting your advances. Once you've given him the proper reassurance, gurney will put his initial reservations aside and happily make up for your awkward first kiss.
Feyd-Rautha: When you close the gap between you and place your lips to his, Feyd-Rautha instantly takes hold of your hair and sinks his teeth into your lip. It's impossible to catch such a confident man off guard, especially one as psychotic and unpredictable as him. He relishes the kiss and the metallic taste that blooms in his mouth. Now that you've made your interest known, Feyd-Rautha has a twisted mind full of plans for the two of you, none of which include letting you go anytime soon.
Duncan: When you close the gap between you and place your lips on his, you can feel Duncan smirk before deepening the kiss almost instantly. He wastes no time pulling you closer and bringing a hand to rest on the nape of your neck. What feels like forever passes before you pull away, nearly gasping for breath. Duncan, being the man he is, goes back to his previous task as if he didn't just turn your world completely upside down. Though the small smile and glint in his eyes tell you he's waiting for his next chance to recreate the moment.
Stilgar: When you close the gap between you and place your lips on his, Stilgar's body stiffens against yours and his blood runs cold. His mind immediately starts racing, thinking about all the now-blatant signs of interest you'd shown him and how he should react now that you're in his arms. Unfortunately, his lack of reactions leads you to pull away. You only barely move before Stilgar's recaptures your lips, giving you a searing kiss in return.
Rabban: When you close the gap between you and place your lips in his, his instincts have him shoving you away roughly. While he doesn't want to reject youâand much less hurt youâthe sudden contact triggers his warrior instincts. He gets worked up, yelling questions about what you were thinking and why you'd want to kiss him in particular. His demeanor turns uncharacteristically shy and bashful as he listens to your reasoning, and he doesn't object to a redo. This time he lets you take the lead, bending down slightly to give you better access to his lips and touch starved body. Any and all forms of kindness are completely foreign to him, but if your kiss is anything to go by, he's dying to learn more.

dune imagine challenge... kinda?
alright so this is just a fun-if-ya-wanna-try kinda imagine thingy?
basically it's this: Imagine Reader is an eldritch/Goddess who went to a dormant like sleep before mankind travelled across the stars. when they wake up they see how utterly chaotic and gone to shit everything is and is like "the fuck? i leave you lot along for at least 5 mins?!". So Reader goes about fixing things in the dune universe, but then Reader comes across arakis and is curious. they watch as life goes about down there and they see Stilgar and is basically like "oh shit, he's hot... do i really like a mortal sand man?... yes, yes i do" and the rest i leave up to any dune fic writer!!
really i just wanna see yall try your hand at writing an eldritch/ god reader in the dune universe!! hell it dosen't even have to be with stilgar it can be with other characters too!! just thought it would be fun for yall to try and see how a universe with no actual gods or immortale acendended Eldritch like beings will react to having one around!!!

Someone To Come Home To
Happy super late very Merry Christmas/New Years @salt-is-a-terrible-currency! This is what I wanted you to read so bad. Hope it lives up to the hype.
Gurney Halleck x F!Reader.
Part One.
The news of Gurneyâs death refused to register in your brain. Gurney couldnât be dead, he was too strong, too smart. He meant too much to you to be dead. As Leto placed what was meant to be a comforting hand on your shoulder, your very form seemed to crumble. Leto caught you before you hit the floor, all but dragged you to a hard seat as you tried to process the news. You just couldnât put it together. Gurney. Dead. Dead Gurney. Gone. Gurney was gone, forever. He wasnât coming back, he wasnât returning. Leto, stalwart, rock solid Duke of some far away kingdom, held your hand tightly, thick brows knit together, wondering what you were going to do next.
To your credit, you didnât lose your ever-loving mind in the middle of the hospital. You hiccupped, turned to Duke Leto, and whispered, âCan I see him?â
âI donât think thatâs a good idea,â Leto says gently, âHe was severely woundedâŚâ The Duke swallows thickly, emotion threatening to overtake him as well. âItâs bad.â
âPlease,â You sniffle, âI need to say goodbye.â Leto hesitated for only a moment before relenting. He began to give orders to the hospital staff, then when you were ready, holding tightly on to you, he led you to Gurneyâs room.
It had been cold in that room, Gurneyâs body covered by the thin hospital sheet. His hand stuck out on the edge. Leto let go of you and stood back in the hallway, so youâd have some privacy. You stood next to Gurneyâs body for what seemed like eternity before you gathered the courage to tell him in death what you couldnât in life. âI love you,â you said, your voice little more than a whisper, thick with emotion. âI love you more than Iâve ever loved anyone.â You grabbed his hand, marveling at how warm it still was. You choked on a sob, squeezing his hand, wishing youâd told him this months ago. Leaning over his dead body, you kissed his forehead. âBye Gurney.â With that, you let his hand go and walked out of the hospital, wondering if youâd ever be happy again.
That had been a week ago. Today, Gurneyâs funeral was attended by yourself, and four other people. Leto, Paul, Jessica, and Duncan, Gurneyâs only friends. Leto invited you to dinner, trying to goad you with information on Gurneyâs will. Apparently, the old man left everything to you, which was substantial, considering heâd been Letoâs well paid bodyguard for years. You declined roughly and walked away from the Atreides family as fast as you could. A big part of you blamed Leto for Gurneyâs death, you just couldnât face him right now.
You made it home just before dusk. As you walked into the increasingly darkening apartment, you didnât bother taking off your shoes, your jacket, nothing. You simply threw your purse into the belly of the beast and made your way to your room. You flop down on your bed, curl up, and cry yourself to sleep.
Hours later, when itâs totally dark, youâre not sure what awakens you. Your brain is screaming âsomething is wrongâ. You lie there, the very same position you fell asleep in, and listen, trying to puzzle it out. For the first time in a week, you feel something other than overwhelming grief as sounds from your living room reach your ears. You reach for the bat underneath your bed and roll out of it. Kicking off your nice shoes, you hear the intruder walking down the hall. Positioning yourself by the door, your grip the bat tightly, praying your sweaty palms donât fuck things up for you. As soon as whoever managed to break into your home opens the door to your room, you swing, making contact. The intruder lets out a satisfying âOhh!â And falls to the ground, you swing down again, as hard as you can. Before you can get a third swing in the person kicks your feet from under you. You land hard on your ass, teeth clicking together. You donât have time to gather your wits before theyâre on you. You immediately begin to struggle with all your might. âItâs me!â They yell, âDarling itâs me! Itâs Gurney,â You go limp in the darkness.
The familiar smell of him envelopes you, making you realize that it isnât just a dream, âThere now,â he says, rolling off you. The light flickers on, you blink rapidly as your eyes adjust. Sure enough, thereâs Gurney Halleck, offering his hand to help you off the floor.
Something inside you snaps. You snarl viciously, get up, and tackle him back to the ground. You get a few good hits in before he begins to block your fists with his forearms. âWhat is wrong with you?â You screech, âWas this some kind of sick joke?â
âNo!â
âThen why, why did you do it?â
âIt had to be done!â
âWhat had to be done? Why? Was it Leto, did he tell you to do it?â
âLeto doesnât know!â This stops you in your tracks completely. Sensing youâve calmed down, Gurney peeks out from behind his massive forearms to chance a glance at you. âLeto doesnât know?â You repeat. The thought of Gurney keeping something from Leto seemed more inconceivable to you than Gurney dying. âWhat doesnât Leto know?â You ask, staring hard at the man beneath you. âThat Iâm alive. Only you do, you and Duncan.â
âMe and Duncan,â You repeat. Gurney lets his arms down completely as you puzzle it out. He rests his hands on your hips, unsure of which way things are going to go after this. âGurney, what is going on?â You finally ask, getting off him.
He follows suit, getting off the floor, following you into the kitchen. âI faked my death,â He explained as if it were the most natural thing in the world. âWhy?â you ask, wincing as you turn on your light. Normally you kept a tidy household, but you hadnât been able to do much since his fake death. Take out containers, delivery receipts, and used plastic utensils littered your kitchen counter tops. Youâd gone in there to make tea but decided to clean instead.
As you grabbed a garbage bag and began throwing things into it, violently, Gurney began to explain. âIt was after the Tuscany incident,â you grunted to show you were listening. Tuscany had been one of the worst missions Leto sent Gurney on. Your man had come back beaten, bruised, and sick with a cold. You nursed him back to health; it was then you began to hate Leto. âIt was in Tuscany I realized somethingâŚâ He trailed off as you tied the bag shut. You placed it next to the overflowing garbage can and took out another bag. âThen, when I got home, you told me what Iâve been needing to hear for years. It was time to get out. I knew Leto would let me go if I asked, but the moment he or Paul got in trouble again, heâd try to pull me right back in.â
âWhat was it?â You asked, cutting Gurney off, unwilling to give Leto a thought. You finally turn to Gurney, exhausted from your week, angry at him, at Leto, at Duncan. âWhat was what?â
âWhat the thing you realized in Tuscany?â Gurney crosses his arms, clearly uncomfortable. âThat I had someone to come home to. Someone that I loved, deeply, and that someone loved me. That for once, I couldnât just die in some shit filled back alley because there was a job that needed to be done. I needed to get home. I needed to get home in one piece.â The silence behind his statement hangs heavy in the air. You want to yell at him, scream, tell him youâre never going to forgive him. Instead, you drop the trash bag, tears forming in the corners of your eyes. Gurney rushed across the kitchen pulling you into his arms. You let out a sob that broke his heart. You were angry and relieved and grief stricken all over again.
As you sobbed, he didnât say anything, simply stood there and allowed you to get his shirt wet with your tears. He promised that with all he had in him, however many days he had left, heâd spend all of it making things up to you. He had to, you were his life, his world, his love, he owed that to you, and so much more.

popcorn bucket
pairing(s): dune 2 cast x actor!reader (ALL platonic) synopsis: dune dune DUNE. thats it. notes: this completely out of genre for me but i genuinely really like these actor!reader fics !! they're soooo good. and the reader is intended to be gender neutral :D OH and no beta read..
"Maude, a.k.a Maude'Dib for Nerdist!" There was a laugh coming from Rebecca Ferguson as you situated yourself next to her. "Hi! How are you guys?" The blonde woman who supposedly to be your interviewer, Maude Garrett, warmly welcomes the two of you with friendly gestures. "This is my first one of these,"
"This is my second actually," you recuperate back a loveable grin, scouting your back towards the chair. "For you... I'd imagine," then cast a glance to your seatmate, for her response.
"I've been doing them but this is my first." As Rebecca situates herself, holding her phone in one hand, and you, patting any creases found on your trousers. "I'm- I'm down to it - I'm googling..."
A short pause but no matter, as you leaned towards Rebecca's screen and read it out loud. "Dune's Popcorn Bucket,"
"Yeah I don't understand, what's happening?" she shifts the screen for you to have a better look before looking up at the interviewer in pure confusion and bizarreness. You knock your head sideways, trying to discern the confusing photo. A small pout forms on your lips as your brain toggles what exactly you're looking at.
"Oh, you don't know about the AMC popcorn bucket?!" The kind woman exasperates, eyes widening in pure surprise.
Not a second later, your eyes look up at the revelation. "Oh, I see it now!"
Rebecca lifts up her phone and presents what the two of you are looking at. "I'm seeing something but I'm not sure what's going on? What it is?" She still didn't understand what it was and you swirled your hips towards her in a swooshing motion.
"You're supposed to put your hand in there and eat the popcorn," Pivoting your head a little, a grimaced look is plastered on your face. "It's the worm!" The camera zooms into your disturbed expression and then cuts to the Garrett looking straight at them, giving a moment for the audience to register what had happened.
Your costar turns to you and her expression quickly switches to a mischievous one. "Oh." Your strained childish smile almost falters as you try to hold your laugh in.
A few significant chuckles from the blonde interviewee while Rebecca looks back and forth from the film crew to you, her, and the camera. "I don't think they had an intern that had a, you know, "different mindset"."
"How uhm,"
"Interesting!
"Sensual!" A short muffled laugh escapes your laugh coming off as a snort as you instinctively cover your mouth out of embarrassment. Rebecca's word of choice definitely caught you off guard which caused some ruckus behind the camera as well.
"How sensual! That's the perfect word for it," The camera pans towards your red puffed cheeks, looking forward nodding alongside the interviewee who is taking the conversation so charismatically well.
"Yes! Yes!"
"You could say you have to ride the sandworm to earn your spots," Garrett teasingly says while Rebecca and you nod in agreement.
"Well look at that. That's what happened back in the days of MGM, but thankfully we've moved on," she replies tiddling with the toothpick in her mouth as you held your breath for a second. A delayed puff comes from Garrett, looking at the actress beside you in shock.
To say the three of you had a blast through the next hour of the interview.
In another interview, you were paired up with Josh Brolin who had played Gurney Halleck. In respect of your character, his pupil, you couldn't help but feel excited because in very few instances had they given you the chance to be in an interview with him.
Lainey Lui who was eager to talk the both of you, sat across from you both in front of a majestic poster of the project. The title, Dune Part Two was shown in its iconic font. The background was a still of one of the sets used in the film which displayed muted colors and curves.
The woman briefly introduced herself and you did the same. Spotting Brolin, you give a small wave before taking the seat beside him where he earnestly wraps his arm around your back. In full comfort and level of readiness, you felt the tiny jitters fly away.
"It's nice to see you two! So what about introducing Gurney and being able to reunite with someone that means so much to him?"
With a variety of cast members, the film was expansive to bring its sets to life. You felt it on day one of filming the first Dune movie. Yet you become more determined to do more when the production of the second film comes. It was phenomenal teamwork, from the film and cast crew. People in wardrobe and makeup were dedicated to making the costumes feel authentic and lived in. The works of Denise Villeneuve is something you've been fascinated with for a while, dating back to his early works.
It all comes back circle to Josh Brolin, remembrance in all of the heartfelt scenes he had done with Timothee of Gurney's and Paul's reunion. He reminds the interviewee that Paul's relationship with him is strong and familial. And that initially the scene was improvised due to their filming schedule.
"He really is like an anchor for him." "Yeah because for the past nine months, he's been spiraling and lost his family." Brolin nods in agreement, making an analogy with his fingers swirling down in a circle. You couldn't help but feel captivated about what they said, placing an elbow on your knee to better listen.
"And- This means no offense to your character!" Lui, the interviewer almost frantically calls out, moving the attention to you. And suddenly you wake from your trance of listening to being pulled back to their conversation.
"Oh no no! Not at all!" As you try to sweep the worry off, waving your hands in a panic.
A soft chuckle erupts from Brolin, seeing how almost innocently you want to pay no heed to the attention. "Of course, Gurney's moment with Paul could never amount to his and Nerre's- I mean I think their relationship really evolved in this movie than the last one," He sarcastically dismissed, crossing his arms while you dramatically gape at your co-star.
"Of course it did! What are you tryna to say, Brolin?" You leaned forward in your chair towards his direction almost like a child would when wanting to make a point.
"Come on, I hope you're not choosing favorites between your family," The interviewee cutely teases, giving a smile.
"I just think- You know for not having to see him for so long, you could've," It was a tiny joke you and the cast had made before while filming the exact scene he had discussed. In a similar scene to where Paul reunites with Gurney, he reunites with Nerre, your character, his pupil, and has been a father figure too. Shoots were slightly rocking as your reaction to seeing Gurney for the first time on the scene didn't go as satisfactory as Denise Villeneuve had intended. Instead, the two of you (and very much of the crew) couldn't stop giggling at your attempted sad faces. Nerre in the final cut, when meeting Gurney becomes teary-eyed and ultimately cries in his arms. While in actuality, you couldn't take it seriously enough to go rushing to give Brolin a hug. "Put much more of an effort to look happy?"
"That!" You wave an X with both arms, embarrassed how your own co-star would drag you out like this. "I say was very much my fault but we got the take in the end!"
"Sure we did," The older actor aimlessly nods, not once believing your words, having the biggest grin on his face. Evidently, the interview goes smoothly with occasional hits and jabs between the both of you regarding your performance. And sooner it comes full circle back to you and the dynamic of Gurney and Nerre.
"As you've said earlier," your head snaps back to the male actor poignantly, as if mocking, "I don't think Gurney and Paul's relationship would deter anything with Nerre. They're very tight-knitted because we are all family essentially," You spread your hands out as if mimicking a large circle, "I know a lot of people wanted to see Gurney and Nerre's growth and I'm glad we got to see that. But it's essentially Paul that we're seeing spiral toward madness. So it makes sense to see him meeting Gurney more meaningful."
"Yes, it really shows the stakes they all have to deal with!"
"Exactly, my point!" One last look from Brolin as he makes eye contact with you before raising his hand for a high five. Were you now going to compete for Josh Brolin's favoritism against Timothee without his acknowledgment? Of course, you are.
Out in the deserts of Abu Dhabi, the vast bodies of sand were infinite. Much of the crew delivered and prepared props, and essential needs as their number one priority. In it's hot weather and shivering nights, the film production didn't discover much disturbance from the weather. It was rather quite pleasant under it's wake luckily. Some crew were happily taking pictures and filming some of the crew walking around to promote their upcoming project.
"This costume rocks!" You jump off from a small rock platform into the frame of the vertical camera focus and give two thumbs up. You then waved towards the cameraman with an enthusiastic smile. "Good morning!"
"Good morning!" Rebecca Ferguson's shout can be heard on the other side of the set as the view pivots towards her in full costume of robes and blue tattoos. "Another day of shooting!"
Day in and out, the production in Abu Dhabi was fun for you. It wasn't much of a nuisance you had feared due to the sand and hot weather but surprisingly pleasant with the luminescent scenery always present behind every camera view.
In another clip, it's shown in the grand hall at the climax of the movie. Where the massive amount of extras were standing, circling the space in the middle for the camera crew to shoot. Timothee was off in the background, practicing his moves with Austin Butler who supposedly would have a spontaneous battle against each other. On the side, you were happily chatting with Florence Pugh in her exquisite attire as Princess Irulan and Christopher Walken were only a few steps behind. You looked beyond curious and happy. A cute short was captured of you trying to poke the small blades on Florence's costume.
The camera expands to reveal all of the other cast such as Zendaya and Rebecca and Javier Bardem chatting. And Denise Villeneuve improvising a scene with Josh Brolin.
Lastly an endearing story comes from your story of Zendaya dragging you with water as you try your best to stand on your feet. You forget who had your phone (Was it Timothee? Or Josh Brolin?) but they were behind the camera, following you around as you struggled to walk to the table full of water cauldrons.
Zendaya was by your side, having a hand on your back, says, "Come on, you can do it!" An determined yelp for your name and you childishly groan.
"I feel like my legs are gonna fall off!"
"You should've taken more water with you kid!" It was Brolin's voice from the far right which confirms Timothee was the one behind the camera. The set production was a few feet, resulting in why cast members always to bring water. Yet from an odd perspective, you had tired yourself out too much. It was as if you had just run a ten-meter run.
Though it felt a marathon, you were doing fall stunts constantly up and down the hills of sand. And to say you were exhausted was an understatement. A chuckle erupts and the air feels lighter when Javier Bardem arrives into frame, seeing your poor state.
"Drink some more water!"
As your next story slides to you chugging down a full hydro flask of water like an animal thirsting for air. Your female costar beside you looked at you in horror, almost terrified of stopping you.
"Hey slow down!"
This wasn't the final moment of your press for the film. However, it was the most captivating and relishing one. In the room full of your favorite people and an interviewee dedicated to the works of Dune, Naz Perez, you all delved into the complex characters you all portrayed onscreen and discussed the juggling topics of characters, love, and how to ride a sandworm.
One by one, the woman pointed out interesting questions for all of your cast to expand upon and you couldn't help but be pulled into a trance to what everyone said. From the dynamics of the new characters beginnings to the interior struggles they had, the room felt revelating of the dedicated work of Denise Villeneueve.
Until Perez perfectly transitions her attention to you after listening to Austin Butler's performance. "Speaking of elevating performances," A few of the people on the couch cooed and awed as you bashfully clamped your hands together in an innocent manner. Your name is spoken out. "Nerre's transformation in Part Two is really eye-opening. For someone who had started out as a young, skilled, and playful warrior to a more serious and revengeful one, how do you think they helped Nerre evolve as a person?"
"I've wanted to point this out before, yeah Nerre kind of starts out a free-willed comedic character," You nod trying to find the right words to describe your interpretation of your character. "But then after "losing" Gurney and being separated from everyone, they could only look forward towards the perpetrators which were the Harkonnen. And for that, they're consumed with the idea of revenge, taking back what was once theirs, their home. You see this when Paul or the other Fremen question their motives because that's a dark path to go by," Each person you mentioned turn their heads to listen to your words carefully, knowing how dedicated you were to the film.
"Right, and for better and or for worse, they have matured. They're being front about the decisions being made, and what's happening in Arrakis, so tell me the conflicts they must've had to deal with others."
"Mmm I would say a lot of their internal turmoil " You were hesitant to say if it was going to spoiler territory. But glancing towards everyone, made you feel assured you were doing fine. "Is always guarded against others. But upon the last film, I believe the revelation of the destruction of House Atreides opened their eyes to first found war. And it terrifies them you know, you have to put in perspective they were young teenagers. So seeing that and then meeting these new characters who are vastly different and want for change, motivates them to induce war. So it brings conflict to almost everyone because war will attract more chaos." You attempt to piece together your last remaining sentences, looking up and down at the interviewer.
"No words can be better said," Perez dazedly comments, placing a hand over her heart you flaunt lovingly. "Reminds me of a certain psycho."
"Right! You know Feyd-Rautha and Nerre could've been besties!" You snapped your fingers which made both Zendaya and Florence burst out laughing. While Austin stares at you smiling, nodding in agreement.

âžâ Paul Muad'Dib Atreides | ٞ٠Ů
ؚادب آتعŰŘŻŘł
He dreamed of you again tonight. Something cathartic laying across the sands. Your touch haunts his skin, tracing scars and stars across his cheeks. He wonders what you see him as, something sacred or something exotic. Neither matters so long as you love him...
Paul's a volatile star, always one breath away from exploding. You're scared to touch the golden boy, lest your fingers return burned and your skull rattles with the echo of the cosmos. Still, it's hard to miss the devotion when his lips grace your knuckles. Hard to miss the cacophony of his heart as it reverberates across the desert.Â
áŻâ
Leto Atreides | Ůت٠آتعŰŘŻŘł
Leto kisses butterflies into your shoulder, the taste of your skin feels like nectar on his tongue. His mind is always racing vying for your affection, your attention, your adherence. He traces your name across his star maps, each letter scribbled in a melancholy blue. You grace his chambers again tonight, it feels so wrong to only see your silhouette, to not feel your love bleeding like his does. He kisses you again, something akin to devotion. He needs to feel you under him again, needs to feel the softness of your flesh under his fingers. Something in him shatters, something inside him rearranges. You make him feel so erratic. Why must he love you this way?
đŠâđŞ Duncan Idaho | داŮڊ٠آŰداŮŮ
his lips taste of chaos, he pours his passion into you.Â
He feels you rattle inside his bones. Feels you coursing through his veins like unaltered spice. He's on another mission, laying in the sand and daubing your essence into constellations. He dreams of your fingers running over his muscles pushing adoration into him with a rusted kitchen knife. Your eyes never gaze at him for long. And yet each stare holds the weight of a nebula. He falls asleep to the phantom melody of your sweet voice. Dreaming of returning to you once more.Â
ŕźşđ¸ŕźť Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen | ŮŰŘŻ ŘąŮتا ŮاعڊŮŮŮ
There's a blade in his hand, blood marring pale fingers again. In every droplet, he sees your face. Phantom pains rampage when he hears your name. He dreams of you holding a knife to this chest, breaking the skin, and riving through muscle. Each night your ghost plagues him. Hurting him in all the ways he craves. He dubs you ecstasy, overdosing on everything he wants to do to you. Everything he wants you to do to him. He etches your name upon his bones, dedicating each open wound to you. He's going mad over the notion of you between his sheets, limbs entwined in a bloody mess. His tongue craves the taste of your flesh, starved like the trees on Arakkis. He must have you, he will have you.Â
-`đ¤Â´- Stillgar | ستŰŮگاع
Stillgar's love is a desert tune, the winds rustling through the grains before the breaching of a sandworm. He falls harder and harder with each soulful gaze. He's spent his whole life chasing prophecies that he's forgotten how to wholly love something not written in blood and legend. He prays upon every star, that the maker has written your names together. That maybe some prophecy exists where you are to become his. He watches you sitting across the dunes, watching as the sunset pales compared to you. He whispers prayers beneath his breath, hoping you'll be with him soon.Â
ÝËâď¸ Gurney Halleck | گاعŮŰ ŮاŮÚŠ
He stiffens under your touch, under the sonority of your voice. His battered heart rattles in your presence, the air in his lungs freezes and he momentarily forgets that he is a soldier, a protector, a tool carved to fight for the Atreides. He's not meant to love, to crush, he's meant to kill, to teach, to follow. A weapon in every sense of the word. And yet he'd throw the world at your feet for a sliver of your attention. Gurney can't help the flames that grow within him. The raging pyro each night when he catches a rogue glimpse of you through the crack of your door. He wishes to kiss you, to hold you. To make you his in every way he knows he can't.Â

!Keep in mind all dialogue is in the native Fremen language. Also for this Jessica isnât the reverend mother!
SMUT SMUT AND SMUT
âââââââââââââââââââââââ-
You sat in the prayer room, whisperers escaping your mouth. Before, you prayed to the Shai-Hulud, but now? Now you pray for your messiah, who goes by the name of Paul Atreides.
As you knelt on the hard stone flour, you held your hands together. You were all alone in the room, the others had left for the night, but not you. You felt at peace here.
You were so devoted to your job, always seen praying or worshipping your new mahdi. You had created a strong bond with Lady Jessica. She had took you under her wing, appreciating your kindness and how you believed in Paul.
As you prayed you paused, hearing a noise near the entrance behind you, putting your hands down by your side, you turned, and saw no other than Paul Atreides watching you.
âHelloâ he said smirking down at you.
âLisan al-Gaib, forgive me I did not hear youâ yous said scrambling to your feet and bowing slightly in fear and astonishment.
âNo need to forgive me, I interrupted your prayerâ he said walking closer to you.
You gulped, you had never had a one on one conversation with your messiah before and you didnât really know what to say.
Paul noticed your nerves and spoke again âI came here to seek guidanceâ He said continuing to walk towards you.
âOh, well the reverend mother would be best suited for that job Usulâ You said trying your best to contain your anxiety.
âOh god no, I couldnât talk to her about thisâ He said smiling down at your small face.
âOhâ you said unsure what else you could say.
âMay I confide in you instead?â He asked trying his best not to smirk.
âOh, Iâm not sure thatâs a good idea, the elders wouldnât be happy Iâm just a sayyadina. Youâd be best to speak with someone higher upâ you said, surprised you managed to get the words out.
âI donât care what the elders thinkâ he snarled
Your eyes widened, not used to hearing someone disrespect the elders of your sietch. You swallowed, not knowing what to say.
âForgive me, that came out the wrong way. I simply mean, the elders pray for me yes?â He said, knowing your answer.
âI- of course Usulâ you said nervously.
âThen whatever I choose to do, they will stand by me. I know the way, you must understand that?â He said, now very close to you.
You felt like crying, how could you be so stupid, you had disrespected your Messiah. âIâm sorryâ you whispered.
Paul took your right cheek in his hand, cupping it. âNo apology is necessary, now may I speak with youâ he said, dropping his hand.
Your cheeks grew red at his touch âof course, you can confide in me, I will try my best to helpâ you swallowed.
Paul took your hand, and led you to the centre of the room, and motioning you to sit down in the centre of the circle. You stopped, knowing you werenât supposed to.
âI canât sit here usul, itâs reserved only for the Reverend motherâ you said, fear evident in your rushed words.
Your reverend mother had taken on the role about five years ago, when the previous one had passed away. She wasnât pleasant whatsoever, and had a grudge against you that you never understood. Even though she was the reverend mother, she did not show much appreciation or belief for your Mahdi.
âOh please, I donât see her here, whatâs the worst that could happen?â He said laughing lightly.
âNo, really Iâm not trying to disrespect you usul but I canâtâ you said making it obvious you feared the thought of even doing it.
âWhy are you so afraid?â He asked, his tone now sounding angry.
You bowed your head down, not wanting to say why, knowing that would be seen as disrespectful to the Reverend Mother.
âTell meâ he ordered.
âI- sheâd punish me if she found outâ you said, your words coming out so fast he barely heard them, but he did.
âPunish you?â He questioned, to which you nodded.
âHow?â He barked.
âShe, she hits me sometimes, when she says Iâve been disappointingâ you say, holding back tears thinking of all the times sheâs slapped or shoved you.
Paul said nothing for a moment, fearing if he did heâd scare you, he had never felt such rage before until now. To think someone had laid a finger on you. You were his, and if someone hurt you, he would hurt them back.
âHow many times had this happenedâ he said his voice cold and demanding.
âI donât really know, at least once or twice a month. She says Iâm weak, and that Iâll never be good enough to be a sayyadina. That I should just give upâ You said, tears now falling down your cheeks, silently.
Your head was still facing the floor, embarrassed to even look at Paul, in your state. Your breath caught in your throat when you felt the touch of his hand. He wiped your tears. His hand was soft. How odd, a man that had killed thousands, and his hand felt soft. He slowly led you to sit down where you had been so scared to before.
âNo need to cry, that wonât be happening anymoreâ he said making you lift your head in confusion.
âWhat, I donât understandâ you said, your eyebrows raised in confusion at his words.
âDo you know why I came here to confide in youâ he asks, his hand still resting on your cheeks.
You nod your head no, he had never explained to you why he had sought you out in the first place.
âI did because, I had a visionâ he began
Your eyes lit up in excitement and your heart raced. To think your Mahdi would tell you his vision firsthand made you feel special, something your rarely felt while being a Sayyadina.
âI had a vision of you, you were sitting in the sand, the sun on your skin.â He said, looking into the distance as he recollected the images of you in his head.
âM-Me?â You stuttered, completely taken aback
âYes, you. You were by my side, my truthsayer, the empires truthsayerâ He revealed, now looking down at your expression.
âMahdi I- this cannot be true!â You said, your mouth wide open.
âYou think me a fool? You think my visions are just hallucinations?â He questioned you.
âNo! No! I believe you! You are Lisan Al-Gaib, I trust you. All I meant is, I donât think Iâm that important, Iâm no where near as clever as some of the other sayyadina that are amongst us hereâ you said.
âYou must believe in yourselfâ He said, feeling annoyed that you were so self-doubtful.
âIt is hard when everyone around you tells you that youâre nothingâ you said, offering him a sad smile.
âYou are not nothing! You are everythingâ He said locking eyes with you
You filled, your cheeks reddening from his compliment
âYou wanna know what else I saw in my vision?â He suddenly asked.
You nodded quickly, eager to know what else your messiah saw in your future.
âYou stood with me, not just as my truthsayer, but as my wifeâ He said watching to see your reaction.
Your eyes widened further, if it were even possible, and your mouth moved to say something but nothing came out.
âYou trust me right?â He asked scooting closer to where you were sitting.
You nodded, still not able to speak from the shock she was experiencing.
âSo trust my visionsâ He said as he leant down even further his lips almost touching yours as he spoke once more
âHave you ever been kissed?â He questioned eager to hear your answer.
âNoâ you whispered, feeling slightly embarrassed.
âGood girlâ Is all he said as he leant in closing the very small gab between you two. He kissed you full force, passion lingering between you and him. He took his hand and placed it around the side of your head, trying to get as close to you as possible.
You finally began to kiss him back, once you had built up the courage, the whole experience was completely new to you. Most Sayyadina wait until they are âof ageâ to have any sort of relations with another Fremen.
You pulled away as fear entered you once more âusul I shouldnât be doing this, I will be in troubleâ you said your eyes glued to his feeling as though you had no control over how you were reacting.
âIf anyone ever tells you what to do again I will kill themâ is all he said as he kissed you again, this time more rough than the last.
He placed his hands around your side, pulling your body over to his, now plush against you.
You moaned, unknown sensations entering your body that felt extremely good. You felt him slightly push his knee into the gap of your legs and you found yourself moving your hips to meet it too.
He shoved his tongue into your mouth and you let him, his dominant personality showing.
The nice sensation you were felling grew when he pushed his knee further into your aching heat, now you felt it fully.
You moaned again, this time a lot louder than the last, again your body acted before you even thought of your actions. You rolled your hips against his knee and gasped when you felt utter satisfaction.
You broke away âwhat, what is this?â You asked as you moved your hips against his leg once again, not really knowing what you were doing, just knowing that you felt really good. You had never really been educated on sex, you knew it was something a couple did to conceive, but you didnât know how it worked, or felt.
âIt feels good, rightâ he asked you
You nodded after a moment, looking down between your legs where you saw his knee rubbed up against your core, that was covered by only the fabric your cloak, which was almost see through from the wetness that was leaving you.
âThen keep going, I wanna make you feel goodâ he said.
You said nothing else as he pushed his knee against you and you completely widened your legs again and your dripping heat now sitting on his leg as you grinded down, putting your head against his shoulder, as he held you.
âIt feels s-so good usulâ you whimpered as he held you tightly.
âYour doing so well, keep goingâ he said watching as you brought pleasure to yourself.
You now moved, almost entirely on his lap, and grinded down, moaning when heâd move his leg up slightly to help you out. He leaned down and locked lips with you again.
As you kissed him his hand moved down to where you eagerly wanted to feel nice, he first drew his fingers against your inside thigh, teasing you.
After he noticed it was working and you moved more desperately against him, he slowly brought his hand lower, to your core.
He moved his finger against your clit, smirking slightly as your eyes widened and your groans grew louder. Wanting to please you even further, he moved to place a finger inside you.
You tender up, the new feeling making you slightly embarrassed âusul?â She asked
âI need to prepare you before I make love to youâ is all he said. You nodded fully trusting him.
You gripped into his shoulders tighter, muffling your moans, and he moved his finger in and out of your aching pussy.
He placed another finger inside when he noticed you were getting closer to your peak. You moved your hips down, meeting him halfway, as you muffled your moans once more, the pressure building upon in your lower tummy.
âLet all your sounds out. I want to hear. I want them to hear.â He said growing more possessive.
You cried out as you came undone, your juices going all over his fingers, he held you up with his free arm, letting you hold him as you came down fork your high.
He lifted his two fingers up and licked your juices off them, before laying you down and kissing you again, his tongue invading your mouth once more. Once he had you underneath him, he pulled off your long fabric down, that all Sayyadina must wear.
He smiled down at your naked body, you felt uncomfortable and insecure, no one had ever seen you naked before, you tried your best to cover yourself.
âDonât hide yourself from me malakâ he said making you blush. (Angel)
âI intend to know every part of youâ he added and finally you removed your hands revealing your small but perky breasts.
Paul smirked down at the sight, you really did look beautiful. Laying down underneath him, ready to be claimed.
He slowly began to suck on your breasts, at first you found it odd, but then it started to feel nice, and you began sticking your chest up, wanting him to keep going.
He pulled away, making you slightly pout âdonât worry sweetheart, Iâll make you feel good soonâ he promised.
He slowly began to move down your body, leaving kisses all over it as he did, and you smiled in satisfaction and love.
One he reached your pussy again, he guided your thighs away from each other and you swallowed, excited to fell nice again, but wondering what he was going to do to you.
He kissed the crease on the very inside of your leg, and you felt butterflies in your stomach, your legs moving impatiently.
He moved his head down even closer to your core, making your brows crease in confusion, wondering what he was about to do, but your eyes quickly widened, and your back arched when he placed his mouth onto your pussy.
He slowly licked it, collecting any of the remaining juices from your previous orgasm, before beginning to eat you eat, grabbing your thighs to keep you in place.
You yelled out, fidgeting as he nudged his nose against your bud. Your hands found his dark curls, and you tangled them within them.
You rolled your hips onto his face, that familiar pressure building up yet again âkeep going pleaseâ you said smiling but it quickly dropped when he pulled away.
You were about to question him when he began to remove his own clothes and you sat waiting to see what he was going to do. Everything he had already done to you felt amazing and even seeing him without his clothes made you tingle inside once more.
He leaned over you, kissing your neck once more. You felt his hot breath on your skin. You wanted to fell even more of him.
âIâm gonna make you feel good ok? It might feel odd at first, but then it will feel amazingâ he said cupping your cheek. You nodded, saying nothing else.
He slowly entered you, and you grasped onto him and you froze. This was not what you thought happened during sex.
âUsul?â You whimpered.
âShh, your ok. Relax, it will feel nicer if you doâ He told you, kissing your cheek gently.
You listen you his words and try to relax your body to the best ability you can. After a moment, he began to thrust in and out you.
Your mouth widened, you realised he was right. It did feel good, very good.
After a minute you began to move your hips with his, matching his rhythm. âOh Usulâ you cried holding onto him for dear life.
âIâve got you babyâ He said as he groaned as well, kissing down on your neck. He matched your noises and you two moved together at a perfect speed.
âYou were made for me, all mineâ he groaned as he hit your g spot, making you cry out.
âIâm yoursâ you whimpered
You continued to make loved for a few more moments, and you locked eyes with him, his bright now blue eyes, looked directly into yours.
You both began you became rougher, almost sat your peaks, you began to cry out âusul, Iâm gonna-
You were cut off, a voice of a women you had heard all too many times. The voice of a women that had hurt you, physically and mentally.
âWhat is going on?!â The reverend mother yelled, fury written all over her features.
Paul ignored her for a moment, both of you reaching your peaks, and he spilled himself deep inside you, and waited a moment before pulling out, making sure none of his seed went to waist. He pulled his bottoms back up and kissed you lustfully, before placing your dress on top of your naked body, as you tried to stay conscious.
âIâll just be a moment, my loveâ he said
He turned and the smile he had offered you, turned to a furious and hateful glare, seeing the woman who had hurt you multiple times enter the room.
Thankfully, she had entered the room when the two of you had finished, but she knew exactly what was going on due to the loud noises both of you had been letting out.
âWhat exactly do you think your doing!â The elder woman yelled out.
Paulâs angry expression grew âIâm claiming my wife to beâ he said watching as her face grew more shocked and angry.
âShe is not marrying you!â The woman yelled once more.
âShe carries my child, I will be marrying herâ Paul said proudly.
âYou canât know that yet!â She yelled annoyed.
âYes I can, Iâve seen it. Iâve seen my beautiful wife sitting where you sit now, a child growing inside of herâ Paul said, knowing he was annoying the woman further.
âI wonât allow it! I am the reverend motherâ She said with a smirk.
âNot anymoreâ Paul said matching her smirk as he watched as her face dropped.
Paul grabbed a nearby Crysknife and slit the womanâs throat, watching emotionlessly as she bled out on the floor, and died.
A nearby Fremen guard eventually came to the scene âmahdi! What has happened to our Reverend mother?â He asked with shock and worry.
âShe tried to kill me, I wish I didnât have to do that, but she was going to stab meâ Paul said, his acting extremely good and believable.
âThank God you are ok! I will alert Stilgar of this incidentâ The man said running away.
Paul took one last look at the woman, before smiling and walking away. He knew his plan would work. People knew she never liked him, and so it would be believable that she had tried to kill him.
Once he returned to you, he knelt down, pulling your head into his lap, playing with your hair gently.
âWhat has happened Usul? Whoâs blood is that?â You said with fear.
âYou need not worry. Our Reverend mother has had an accident, but I have a replacementâ Paul said stroking your face lovingly.
âReally, who?âyou asked, shock all over your face.
âYouâ Is all he said, as he picked you up in his arms.
A|N; Iâm a quite proud of this!
I hope you all enjoyed it :)

How they react to your arranged marriage â Dune preference
Characters: Gurney Halleck, Feyd-Rautha, Stilgar, Count Rabban.
Warnings: Fluff, insecurity, arranged marriages, mentions of children, cultural differences, very lightly implied age difference
Authors note: Dune and the arranged marriage trope go together better than milk and cookies
Gurney Halleck: When heâs informed of your arrangement, heâd be more confused than anything. In his mind, heâs an old man past his prime with no need for a spouse. Gurney would have questions, but he ultimately wouldnât put up much of a fight. Instead heâd accept the union, but he keeps you at an arms length. Itâs in his nature to ensure your health and safety, and itâs through these actions that Gurney begins to truly fall for you. Perhaps you return his caring gestures or ask that he trains you to protect yourselfâbut itâs after he notices that you truly do trust and rely on him that he makes his feelings known.
Feyd-Rautha: When heâs informed of your arrangement, Feyd-Rautha shocks everyone by putting up no protest. Instead, he begins thinking about how positively this will affect his reputation along with all the things you both will learn from each other. Regardless of your status as a fighter, Feyd would be delighted to be the person to put a blade in your hand or to finally have a worthy opponent. Heâs also just as interested in whatever it is you are passionate about, regardless of his familiarity or skill level. Despite the circumstances, you both are equally excited to have some to engage in your various hobbies with, and a love forms easily between you. With the time you spent together laying the groundwork, it isnât long before you accompany each other in other aspects of your daily life. Given what you knew about him before taking his hand, youâre outright shocked at how willing Feyd is to forge an actual relationship with you. As such, youâre just as shocked at how openly affectionate he is from the moment his feelings appear.
Stilgar: When heâs informed of your arrangement, Stilgar simply shrugs and goes about his day. In his culture, itâs not uncommon to marry out of obligation or responsibility rather than love. This is especially true with him being a Sietch Leader. Nonetheless, he treats you with nothing but respect and kindness. Always ensuring you are safe and as comfortable as possible. He knows the expectations that come along with marriage (cohabitation, having/caring for children, etc) but he makes no mention of them, instead letting you set boundaries and lead the way. Love will blossom between you when you inquire genuinely about his culture/beliefs along with taking his wants and desires into account. Even if you donât see eye to eye on everything, itâs during these deep conversations that Stilgar gains a new level of respect for you that quickly becomes genuine love.
Rabban: When heâs informed of your arrangement, Rabban will react in the only way he knows howâanger. Heâll put up a massive fight but ultimately go through with the marriageâif only out of fear of his uncleâs retaliation. Given that heâs the Harkonnens most notorious warrior, heâs so rarely ever around that itâd be easy to forget you were even married in the first place. Despite this, your insistence on sharing a simple meal or just being in his company whenever possible is what earns you a place in his cold heart. In the end, proving that you see him as much more than the Baronâs attack dog will slowly (but surely!) bring ruin to his defenses.

âFOR FUCKS SAKE.â You murmured while sliding a hand over your forehead. You sat up in your bed, trying to calm your breathing by inhaling deeply through your nose and releasing it through your lips.
You had a nightmare. Again. This was the 5th time since arriving on Arrakis with your family.
Ever since setting a foot on the planet, you had this strange feeling in your stomach. It didnât feel normal to be on Arrakis. Not when you knew this planet used to be ruled by the Harkonnens.
You still remember the day when your father, Duke Leto Atreides heard the news about being chosen to be the new leader of Arrakis.
You were in the training hall with your brother Paul and Duncan Idaho. You were discussing new combat strategies when Leto entered the room. The moment the words were out of your fatherâs mouth, your stomach dropped. Everyone knew that this was bad news. Everyone knew that being send to Arrakis was a trap. A trap your house couldnât refuse.
âIt is going to be okay.â Leto assured you and Paul while Duncan just stared at him. Leto had seen the shocked faces on you and Paulâs face. He tried his best to calm both of you, but he failed miserably.
âWhen are we leaving?â Asked Paul quietly. Leto sighed while scratching his beard. âSoon.â
You swallowed deeply while your thoughts immediately went to Gurney Halleck. One of your fatherâs most important men.
Did Gurney knew about this? You wondered while looking at your father. âMay i leave? I was supposed to meet with mother this afternoon.â You lied while trying to avoid eye contact with your father.
Leto could see the fear in your eyes. He could see it in Paulâs eyes as well, but with you it was different. He knew how deeply attached you were to your home planet Caladan. You all were. And now you were supposed to move to a big sandbox with nothing but Spice to make it an important planet.
âYes you may leave.â Leto said softly. You gave a small nod, said a quick goodbye to Paul and Duncan before leaving the training hall.
Gurney. You needed to find him. You wanted to feel his warm embrace and his gentle kisses, knowing that those two things always calmed you when needed.
With quick steps you walked towards Gurneyâs quarters, hoping he would be there to calm you down. When you arrived at his door, you took a deep breath before knocking.
âWho is it?â Came the deep voice of Gurney. âItâs me.â You answered softly. Gurney immediately recognized your voice and walked to the door.
When the door opened and Gurney saw your worried and sad face, he waisted no time in pulling you into him, slowly closing the door after you.
âI donât want to leave Caladan.â You murmured into his chest. Gurney let out a deep sigh while softly placing a hand on the back of your head. âI know Sweetheart, i donât want to leave either.â
You slowly pulled back from Gurney to look into his eyes. âIt is a trap. My father must know it. The Emperor wants to get rid of him and so do the Harkonnens.â You said.
A small apologetic smile appeared on Gurneyâs face. âThat doesnât matter in this situation. Your father canât refuse this proposal. He has to do what the Emperor requested of him. And who knows? It might not be a trap. Perhaps your father can change Arrakis and make it a better place.â Gurney tried his best to show you the bright side of everything, in which he failed.
âDo you really believe that?â You asked quietly. Gurney saw the sadness in your eyes and pulled you back against his chest. You immediately wrapped your arms around his neck, wanting to be as close as possible to him.
âI am afraid.â You admitted quietly. âI know sweetheart.â Sighed Gurney. He placed a kiss on top of your head before speaking again. âBut you donât have to be. Your father is a smart man. He knows what to do and how to do it. And besides that, you still have me and i will always be there for you. I promise.â Gurney assured you.
You placed your chin on Gurneyâs chest so you could look at him. âForever?â You asked. Gurney smiled and nodded. âForever sweetheart.â He whispered before leaning in to kiss you.
Gurney. You thought while going back to the present, realizing you were still in your bed in your new room on Arrakis.
Quickly but quietly you got out of bed and went over to your door. You slowly opened it and peered into the dark hallway. No one in sight. You stepped into the dark hallway and began heading for Gurneyâs room.
Within 5 minutes you were standing in front of Gurneyâs new quarters. You softly knocked on his door, hoping he was inside.
âWho is it?â You heard his voice ask. âItâs me.â You replied quietly. âCome in, the door is open.â
Slowly you opened the door to Gurneyâs room. Your eyes immediately met his. Gurney was sitting on his bed, leaning against the headboard while having a book in his hands.
âIs everything okay sweetheart?â Asked Gurney while closing his book and putting it down on his nightstand.
You softly shook your head. âI had another nightmare.â You told him. Gurney sighed while giving you a sympathetic look. âOh honeyâŚâ
âCome here.â He said while patting the spot next to him. You quickly made your way to his bed and climbed onto it just to fall into Gurneyâs warm embrace.
âWhat was it this time?â He asked while holding you close to him. âThe harkonnens attacked us. I saw fire, bodies lying on the ground, people screaming, children crying. It was horrible.â You said quietly.
âIâm sorry to bother you this late but i just wanted to feel your comfort.â You almost whispered while tightening your grip on Gurney.
âBother me?â Asked Gurney. âYou could never bother me sweetheart. You ought to know that now. I promised to be there for you, rememberâ
A small smile crept onto your face while nodding. âSo never think that you are bothering me, okay?â Gurney gave you a stern but sweet look which caused you to smile even more.
âOkay.â You said before moving your head back against his chest. âCan i stay here tonight?â You asked after a moment of silence.
âOf course you can.â Smiled Gurney while looking down at you. He stared at you for a while before grabbing the sheets of his bed. He carefully pulled his sheets up and covered both of your bodies with it. You nuzzled even further into his chest while placing your hands on his hips.
âDo you want me to read to you or would you like to sleep?â Gurney asked softly. âReading.â You murmured, not looking up.
âOkay then reading it is.â Chuckled Gurney while grabbing his book from his nightstand. He browsed through the pages until he found where he had been.
Gurney placed a sweet kiss on top of your head before clearing his throat.
âAre you listening?â He asked. When you gave him a small nod he began reading out loud.
You immediately felt all your worries slipping away while you focused on the beautiful voice of Gurney. You were grateful for having someone like him, you thought while tightening your grip on his body.
You knew Gurney would always be there for you, just like he had said. And you couldnât be more happier about it.
I absolutely adore Gurney Halleck with my whole heart!
If you have any requests for Gurney, feel free to drop them in my inbox!

sand walking?
pairing(s): dune 2 cast x actor!reader (platonic!!)
synopsis: requested by this ask!
⤡ alt: how to seduce someone walking on sand.
notes: there hasn't been confirmed for dune 3 yet but denise villeneuve has said he's writing for it to happen. ill patiently wait for the day it's confirmed :) ALSO there are fictional/made-up mentions of the novel for the sake of the reader. they're made to be gender-neutral!! and this includes platonic flirting between cast members. i MAY have gotten carried lmaoo
âI mean- what do you think of the character? Do you think they deserved more screen time?â The clip starts off with you comfortably conversing with the interviewer. To say you werenât deflecting their curiosity. In actuality, you were eager to learn what others thought about your performance and take on the character. The only other interpretation had on-screen was from the classic 1984 film by David Lynch.
The clip that has been widely retweeted back is of a cute moment you had from the first film of Dune (2021). Before release, little was known about your characterâs potential. Apart from the enthusiastic book lovers, film viewers were clueless about what role your character would play after the first movie.
Denise Villeneuve didnât reveal much to you in person. He wanted to keep ideas confidential until he was 100% on board making the project come to life. Still, rumors sparked through speculation and interviews with the cast members of Dune. Including an infamous short, that you forgot about, of yourself boasting about your hopes and wishes for your character.
âYes! How could we not!â On the opposite side, the interviewer exclaimed as they leaned forward from their chair, closing into your proximity. Their hands clenched, tightening their grip on the flash card, full of questions. âThe movie left us on such a cliffhanger. I think everyone would want to know what happened to Nerre,â
âThatâs for Denise to decide,â Nodding you gave a relaxed smile while lifting one leg over the other. Your shoulders relaxed, feeling content and ecstatic about their response. âI canât confirm anything until he gives me the green light to say anything,â
âIâve also talked to TimothĂŠe this morning,â A shift in gears as the journalist flipped over another flashcard. You two had just fussed about the finale and its dramatic cliffhanger. âAnd all he had to say were the sweetest things about you,â At the mention of your costar compliments, you felt your skin heat up. Your eyes soften, expressing only fondness for the lovely message. A soft awh escaped your breath. âHeâs very sweet. Timothee's always been fun to be around.â A fervent chuckle from the interviewer sends them into a feverish excitement. âAnd- he said- you had great flirting skills!â It was then your face morphed into complete shock and giddiness . âReally?!â The camera pans up on your initial reaction, eyes popping out in surprise and a bubbling laugh slowly erupting. âIâm glad someone appreciates my talents!â
Without context, the short clip seemed harmless. Your sheer reaction to Timothee's comment emphasized the fun chemistry the two of you had on set. Mirroring much of Paul and Nerre's friendship, you both complimented each other well in the first film, being the youngest surrounded by well-renowned actors. But the reason for the recent spike of interest was partially from Dune: Part Two and their interviews.
Fast forward to the debut of Dune: Part Two, it made success at the box office. Even surpassing the first film altogether. The entire cast of Dune was proud of the work they've made. The introduction of new characters played by wonderful actors and actresses all around.
Weeks after the early IMAX screenings, press interviews were being published amongst of the young cast members. A particular interview by IGV Presents brings together Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, and yourself.
This would be considered to be one of your first interviews with the Dune cast after the box office release. You felt nervous yet overjoyed at the same time to be meeting your co-actors again after the conclusion of filming had taken place.
The spokesperson of IGV, Simon Harkness starts off the interview strong with a pleasant greeting. "Congratulations on an incredible movie. Uhm it is the definition of a sci-fi blockbuster and is absolutely phenomenal, so huge congratulations to you all!"
"Thank you!" The five of you all politely cherish his kind words.
"It's so lovely to talk to you. Um- Timothee, Zendaya, I'm going to start with you. This is probably the hardest question I've ever asked in an interview so you've been warned." An endearing giggle can be seen from Zendaya before allowing him to continue. "Sand walking, who does it better?"
Timothee immediately lifts up his microphone. "I'm going to give it to Zendaya here." Without glancing at her, you could tell Zendaya was happily smiling at his compliments. How quick he was to answer made it seem how well connected the cast was even given the amount of time spent together. The main lead continues very swiftly, diving more into how cinematic the shot was from an outside perspective, "I think it's the most- one of the most cinematic shots in the movie and she really has it very precisely down but it's the nature of the movie too that she's supposed to be better than Paul,"
"Is that what it is?" In return, Zendaya who sat next to him gave him a teasing look.
Quietly from afar where you sat, next to Austin Butler, you whispered. "He acted like he couldn't do it but," Soft snickering can be heard across the room.
"In fairness to me, I was going 65%- 65 to 70 too hard," Chalamet reasons justly as he glances in your direction before looking back to the interviewer.
"You dumbed it down," Harkness nods in a high-spirited manner. Right after, Timothee reluctantly agrees, keeping the mood light-hearted.
"I had to!"
"Just how committed you are!" Austin steps in, joining in on the joke.
"Zendaya, you can take that crown. I love that," The brown-haired man reassures as she recuperates with appreciative laughter. In truth, it was a beautiful scene between Paul and Chani you were lucky enough to witness behind the camera. And contrary to their light banter, you thought both actors did well at accomplishing what it was meant sand walk. Truthfully you had no scenes beyond walking through the desert but understanding the mechanics and traditions of the Fremen was as fascinating as it was watching it up close.
Suddenly it was Florence's turn to speak, "Zendaya taught me the other day and I had to just stop to stare at her feet."
"The swoopy swoop?" You asked in a cutesy tone, with furrowed eyebrows. You couldn't help but remember the few instances you witnessed your costars practice the sand walk to be one of the more adorable rehearsals you've seen on the sand.
"Yeah, her feet were so pretty! She was doing the swoopy swoops," The blonde acknowledges, waving her hands in a zig-zag pattern. As the replication of water and how her feet moved.
The interviewer's eyes light up, "Honestly I tried to swoopy swoop at home- um because we have a carpet in the bedroom."
"How did it go?" The mixed actress puts forward.
"Awful!" An assembly of bewilderment is seen between Zendaya and Florence as they quickly question why. However, they reassure him in the end that they would practice together in hopes of him archiving the sand walk.
Talks with simple questions went down the row. Florence discusses her experience from her beginnings, starring in Little Women, comparing those scenes in terms of royalty to Dune. In both films, she's worked with well-known actors and now Christopher Walken as the emperor and her father. She raves about how it was a dream come true. A dream she had when she was little. From this experience, Florence emphasizes the concept of learning and observing her fellow actors.
Another intriguing topic follows Austin for his experience between learning choreography fighting and Elvis's iconic rubber legs. In a sense, as you leaned forward on one of your seats, you became fascinated by the Elvis actor's comparison of it all. While Elvis's moves were televised and had to be precise for the camera, being a Harkonnens gave him more leverage in the freedom to move. It was a captivating question that you couldn't help but want to listen to more.
Comparisons aside, you didn't have much to note for your upcoming question. Which is exactly why you felt unprepared for what he was going to ask.
Harkness brings up your name for the finale. "You have done stunt work before. For the first and now second film, I've heard you compared it to rather- dancing. Is that what you think your relationship with the choreography has been?"
You gave a content hum, "You see it with the Fremen or Harkonnens right? Everyone moves so differently and for the course for me, I've had to adjust my choreo little by little. And I think that analogy you mentioned really does relate back to dancing. I don't know if it's because I was once a dancer or that I'm a visual learner," You shrug your shoulders, "But I see the choreography as a dance routine. You're moving alongside people, doing hits and jabs. Both are very hands-on so I would like to approach it as something I can always work on." Satisfied with your answer, you clapped your hands together.
"Kind of like sand walking no?" It was then that Zendaya swerved counterclockwise to face you.
Bringing back the conversation they had in the beginning about sand walking, your eyes instantly brighten. "Exactly like that!"
"I feel like you would be great at sand walking," Florence puffs, mindlessly shaking her microphone back and forth. "You- You already got the moves." Even Timothee came into agreement, humming and commenting you worked well with the choreography.
Austin Butler raises his microphone. "I think you gotta learn with me because I don't think I could,"
"Nonsense!" You give him a silly glare. "If you can do a killer rubber leg, I think you can sand walk." Florence and Zendaya both mumble their support and your male costar leans to have his arm around the back of your chair, warmly.
"Is that an open invitation I see?" The spokesperson, Harkness giggly pokes at than the rest of the cast turns to look at you. Your scowl morphs into an innocent one.
"Hm?" As you squint your eyes in hesitation.
"I feel like you could have the potential to sand walk but just with the right partner," Timothee chimes in, spreading his arms over his chair as well. Your brows furrowed accusingly, as if wanting to clarify what he meant by his comment.
And the French actor gives you a look, one you became so sure of. "Mm right!" A slight eruption of laughs before you straightened your back with proper posture. "With just the right partner,"
There were also hints mentioned in your interview with Timothee surprisingly not. This was one of the more recent ones to be published, as you finally were able to pair up with your favorite co-star (besides Brolin) from the first film. The two of you had strong chemistry despite having less screen time together in the second film.
The beginning of the video cuts to a clip of you answering an innocent question. "What I think about every day, is Timothee going to send to me a meme today? Uh, I hope so!" You give a sarcastic look to your seat partner as he latently laughs in front of you. "Or when is he going to text me you know?"
It then transitions to an interviewer from Heart commercial radio as he shouts out your names. "How are you both?"
"I'm doing good!"
"Going great!"
The radio show was more relaxed than you would've expected as the spokesperson was very down to the earth with his conversation starters and contagious warmth. Timothee was able to catch up with him from his last interview when he premiered his Wonka film. Eventually, the interview became more casual discussing working together, cooking, and trendy topics.
Timothee and you both went back and forth on favorite memories you had of the first film. And talking about the new cast members and new elements it had brought to the table for the film itself.
"Cool new characters this time," As you played around with the fuzzy microphone the camera crew gave to you.
"Yup lots of new people to meet," Timothee adds on, nodding.
The interviewer proceeds with the question, "And also you have seen- there's a clip about of you running around actually." He signals to you, "Of your reaction to something Timothee said about your performance in the first film,"
"Oh! I've seen it," Almost instinctively, your co-star raises his hand. "I was supposed to send it to you but I forgot." As he turns, to finds you looking lost at the topic at hand.
"Really what was it?" You almost looked concerned, seeing how you didn't understand what they meant.
Luckily for you, the Heart radio spokesperson managed to get a hold of the video from his phone, "It was a little callback of Timothee raving about your flirting skills."
As it plays, the camera zooms in on you and your co-actors reaction. The French actor couldn't help but look slightly embarrassed but smitten when the timing of your reaction came on screen. While you held an intrigued stance, arms crossed and a content grin.
"I am pretty good at flirting,"
"You really are, huh." At the same time, you both turn to make eye contact.
"I also heard Tim- that you thought that they would be your love interest initially?" At the radio speaker's inquiry, you couldn't help but in mid-sentence, finally, swerve your head suddenly.
"Yeah well, fun fact actually," The male actor tries to reason, sitting up. "In the novels, Paul and Nerre almost did become a couple!"
It was a well-known fact of that in the first novel, there had been slight changes to the story. Initially, it was said that the author, Frank Herbert had planned for Paul and Nerre, the character you played to have a romantic connection after the fall of House Atreides. Nevertheless, it was later scrapped for another plot, that of instead having Chani as the love interest. But even decades later after the novelâs release, it was something fans still fuss about.
"Oh, I heard about that!" Almost in awe, you nodded, your attention fully on Chalamet, wondering how far he was willing to go beyond spoilers.
"Do you think Nerre would ever meet someone then?" The afro man questions, adjusting his microphone. "Since- Paul has Chani, I feel like if we ever get a potential third film, that could open some doors!"
"If a third film could happen," You start, fiddling with the lining of the mic cover, "I hope so! I mean I got the moves, I got the skills!"
"Keep practicing your sand walk and we'll see," Timothee cutely chimes as you proceed to blow a raspberry at him. Only for him to lightly swat you away.
Despite your failures to have scenes of sand walking, your cast of a crew were more than happy to show you. Javier Bardem and Jessica Ferguson were quite supportive in your interest for something you did not have any part-time. A few behind the scene videos show the actor demonstrating from afar the slower version of the walk.
Though your back was facing the camera, viewers would pick up and recognize it to be you. Jessica as well was off to the side, in her luminescent costume of a million robes, clapping from side to side.
Another later pans to you taking long strides across the sand in the background. In front of the camera are Josh Brolin and Javier having their turn in the video, to discuss their relationship and the previous they have worked on together. However, viewers couldn't help but pinpoint your figure alongside the frame trying to master the patterns of what Javier taught you from the previous clip.

Could you do hcs or one shots that expands on the dune yandere headcanons. Like how do they pursue the reader, how does the reader react, do they try to run (and if so, what happens). I feel like Paul in particular would be interesting given the Lisan al Gahib worship making him too powerful to actually run from
OMG, Anon are you like psychic or something?? Cause I was working on this exact thing last night!!
I've been getting a lot of requests for specific scenarios with the Dune men (which I promise I will answer soon!) but I wanted to write a longer more in-depth general yandere HC first.
All this being said, I also coordinate each character to a TS song from TTPD (Yes I'm obsessed, please don't make fun of me đĽşđ) each character's HC is divided into three specific scenarios. I've already chosen the songs and lyrics + written an outline for all the characters. I'm planning on working on it after I finish the Feyd x reader x Paul fic.Â
Now one question. I don't really like Rabban and I don't think he has many fangirls. But should I include him in the HC or just ignore him?Â

Pairing: Gurney Halleck x Reader Rating: T Notes: Still simping for Gurney Halleck. Shocker. Set during Dune Part II.
No physical descriptions, no use of y/n. Not beta-read, so probably riddled with typos that I wonât find until I hit âpostâ.
Warnings: Angst; fluff; yearning; pining; they're in love, they're just idiots.
Summary: Youâve spent months fighting to honor all of your ghosts, but thereâs no one whose memory you've tended to more than Gurneyâs. On the evenings when your nightmares played keepaway with your peace, you reached for his memories first and held them the tightest.Â
Heâs a far cry from the man that you once knew. You donât recognize him for a momentâbut as he grows closer, and the flash of his smile becomes apparent, your insides curdle and twist as if you've sipped the Water of Life.Â
And when Paul points you outâwhen his mouth forms your name, his gloved finger jabbed in your directionâyou see the man's expression fall and muddle. Youâre not sure what with: shock, disgust, confusion?Â
But before you can decipher itâbefore the man can take another step toward you or away from you, Chani is taking hold of your shoulder and guiding you away from the wreckage of the destroyed spice freighter. You donât fuss or fight, or insist that you have someone to see, something to say. You still hardly believe your eyes. You donât trust that what you've seen isnât an effect of the spice, or a hallucinationâone of those jinn that Stilgar warns you about when you go for walks alone at night.Â
It wouldnât be the first time that your tired eyes have carved the likeness of the man you once loved out of dust and heat.Â
--Â
âIf Iâd known,â He tries, âI couldâve gotten you off of the planet. I wouldâveââ
âI wouldnât have left.â
âYou still can, and should. Youâd be safer on Caladan.âÂ
âMy place is with Paul.âÂ
His grip is a vice as he grabs your wrist and roughly tugs you to face him. Your feet stutter and stall in the sand, annoyance rising in your belly. Itâs only stoked by the righteous fury waiting for you in his eyes. He seems unaware or uncaring of the testy audience that his antic draws, the slowed steps of the Fremen around you; their shushes and tuts; their low, murmured chittering warnings in Chakobsa, filling the canyon with whispered threats.Â
âAnd mine is not?â He hisses. You study his face for a few testy, silent moments before you finally wrestle from his grip.Â
âI couldnât say where your place is, Gurney Halleck.âÂ
--Â
Sleep is uneasy. The stillness and silence of the dessert makes you fidget and squirm in your tent. You can only keep your eyes closed for a moment or two before they open again. You map the ceiling of the tent, mark its occasional fluttering in the odd breeze. You try not to think of the little centipedes, or the trapdoor spiders.Â
You fight not to think of the man just feet from you.Â
Youâve spent months fighting to honor all of your ghosts, but thereâs no one whose memory you've tended to more than Gurneyâs. On the evenings when your nightmares played keepaway with your peace, you reached for his memories first and held them the tightest.Â
Youâve struggled to keep every little bit etched into your mind: his voice, his smile, his laugh, the murmur of his balliset. Youâve remembered the slip of his hand over your arm, your back, your side as he corrected a movement in training. You've remembered the call of his voice over the battlefield, roaring over your pounding heart as you ran into hell together. Youâve fought to hold the last look of him in Arrakeenâthe blend of passion and sorrow in his eyes as he charged the Harkonnens.Â
But youâd lost sight of him in the skirmish, and found your way to Paul. Youâd been certain that so few of your fellow soldiers had survived, positive that any who had would have fallen into Harkonnen clutches.Â
Some nightmares draw up images of Gurney in their chains once more, fighting against his bondage without Leto there to free him again. Others have him limping from the shadows, bleeding, imploring and begging you to tell him where you had gone when he needed you most.Â
Is he awake over there? Or has he learned to doze peacefully, to drift off to the shush of spice over the sands of Arrakis? Does he dream of Caladan, of her deep oceans and grey skies?Â
Does he think of you? Of your nights together in the barracks? Of sharing a drink?Â
You push yourself to sit up now, drawing a deep breath in through your nose as you fight to slow your pounding heart, to unpick the knot forming in your belly.Â
--Â
You try to hide from him in the company of others. Your place with the Fremen is far less precarious than it used to be, and they happily draw you into their conversations, keep pace with you as you walk. Whenever Gurney gets too close, they cast him a wary look and bunch in closer to you. It warms you as much as it makes you uneasy.
Youâve no reason to be protected from Gurney. He would never harm you, despite what his grabbing your wrist may have made them think. But youâre not rushing to correct them, either. And when youâre certain that you feel him watching you, you force yourself to refocus on the company of your friends.Â
The worn, high walls of Sietch Tabr are an unexpected respite. Perhaps itâs the knowledge that youâll be able to slip into the crowd and elude the former Warmaster for just a little while longer. Hands pat you on the shoulder as you pass, murmurs of greeting washing over you as you venture deeper underground.Â
You want as much rest and quiet that this brief break will afford you. Youâre certain that Gurney will keep close now that he and Paul have been reunited, and you canât blame himâin his shoes, you would do the same. You have no intention of letting yourself be kept away from Paul, or away from the action, so youâll have to brace.Â
--Â
âDid he hurt you?âÂ
If the question had come from anyone else, you may deflectâturn away, start toward the next windtrap. But Chaniâs question isnât abrasive, despite its bluntness. You keep your eyes set resolutely on the filter that youâre removing, twisting it from its position and lowering it to your rucksack with the others that youâve collected.
âA long time ago,â You finally admit.
âDoes he know?âÂ
âNo.âÂ
Chaniâs silence is as heavy as her gaze. You just shrug, chasing her quiet curiosity: âIt isnât that easy.âÂ
âWhy not?â
âHe wouldnât understand.â Or care.Â
You hold your hand out for a fresh filter, and fit it once sheâs passed it over.Â
âHeâs a good man,â You add. âSmart, and strong.âÂ
âThe others think heâs a spy.âÂ
âThey thought the same of me.âÂ
â...Thatâs true.â
âAnd the same of Paul.âÂ
Chani falls quiet at the reminder, and the mention of Paulâs name. The two of you collect the remainder of the full filters, each stewing in your thoughts. You finally speak again as you make your way back to the sietch.Â
âWill you tell the others to lighten up on Gurney?â You cast her a sidelong glance just in time to see her lips purse contemplatively.Â
âThey wonât take to him easily,â She argues.Â
âThey should try.âÂ
âYou should lead by example.â
Itâs your turn to purse your lips. You know that sheâs right, and it irritates you. But you nod grudgingly. It shouldnât be too hard to crack your own shell. For all of your pain and heartache, you have missed him. Your mind has been racing with memories since you first saw him again.Â
When you return to the sietch, he isnât hard to find. Stilgar points you in his direction, and warns you not to waste your time or water on such an unclever man. The words, accompanied with a wink and a light pat on the shoulder, offer a much-needed lightness as you wind through the cool, quiet halls.Â
You donât bother to try and sneak up on Gurneyâthereâs no point. He always was a vigilant tactician, as wise in the ways of his soldiers as of his enemies. His head tips toward you a touch as your footsteps grow nearer, but he doesnât take his attention away from the mural on the wall.Â
âHow do they get off?â He asks. The question makes you balk, briefly stalling your brain before you manageââWhat?âÂ
âOf the worm.â He gestures toward the wall, at the illustration of a small figure riding a sandworm. Ah.Â
âThey slide off,âYou tell him, âOr run the worm until it tires and slows.âÂ
He grunts, nodding slowly. âYouâve learned a lot these last few months.âÂ
âIâve had to,â You admit, then amend: âWe all have.âÂ
Gurney nods again. âYou seek me out for a reason, or were you just going for a walk?âÂ
Youâre tempted to lie. Gurney is no truthsayer and you were adept at concealing your true feelings from him once.Â
âI wanted to apologize.â
âFor what.âÂ
By the way that he says it, you know that heâs leaning digging the knife in, just a little. You canât blame him; if you were in his place, youâd do the same. You draw in a deep breath, curling your nails into your palms.Â
âIâŚShould not have received you as I did when we found you in the desert.âÂ
âYou didnât receive me at all.âÂ
âAnd that is what I mean.âÂ
You eye the floor as you feel Gurney turning to look at you, hold carefully still as you feel him approach you, your fingers still curled tightly into fists.Â
âIf I had been able,â He says softly, âIf I had known about you and Lady Jessica and PaulââÂ
âI know,â You whisper.Â
Itâs a moment before he reaches out, taking hold of your hands. You pull in a soft, stunned breath at the touch; his hands are warm, and rougher than you remember. He turns your hands over, thumbs sweeping across the half-moons that your nails have dug in.Â
âThereâs still time,â He offers, and before you have a chance to misunderstand his meaning, he presses: âTo return to Caladan.âÂ
You try not to let it sting youâthe thought that this man has had you back for just a few days and is already chomping at the bit to be rid of you. Your fingers involuntarily flex, brushing against his where he holds you, still.Â
âThere is,â You agree, âBut as I said, my place is here, with Paul. Yours is, too.âÂ
âYes.âÂ
You give one last, small nod before you draw your hands back from his. You take a step back, too, desperate to create space between yourself and Gurney. You clear your throat, tucking your hands into your pockets, out of reasonable reach.
âYou should rest,â You offer. âWhenever weâPaul will want to get back out there as quickly as possible.âÂ
You donât give him a chance to respond. You turn away and stride back to where you sleep, forcing yourself to be secure in the knowledge that youâve spoken, reconciled, and will move on.
Gurney is a good fighter, and a smart man. Your countenance has surely bounced off of him like sound from a wall. Heâll conduct himself in an appropriate manner, fight well, make his worth known to the others. Youâll approve of him publicly, encourage his company and conversation where you must, and hide from it where youâre able. Youâll still shield your discomfort, the embers of your misguided love in the sands of Arrakis, and burn your passion out in leveling and destroying Harkonnen soldiers and spice freighters.Â
Gurney always taught you to turn your feelings, your passionâany strong emotionâto guiding your fight, regardless of whether or not you felt in the mood for it when the need arose. You can do so now. Youâve always been a good soldierâand for him and his sake, you know that you will be the best.Â
--Â
Acceptance is slow. Gurney and Stilgar do not mesh quickly, but their shared belief and care for Paul keeps them on as even a footing as they can be. They still butt heads, still insist that they know better, but concede that Paul knows best. It makes for amusing conversation, watching the two bat their causes back and forth before ultimately yielding to your former trainee, Maudâdib, the Lisan Al-Ghaib. You try not to love it as you watch your wise Warmaster bite his tongue for Paulâs sake. You know that Paul appreciates his guidance, and, where itâs necessary, his compliance.Â
But when Gurney turns to meet your eyeâto level an all-knowing look of âCan you believe this?â or his imploration for back-upâyou force your expression to a neutral set, merely arching a brow, as if to ask what heâll do next.Â
You can see his frustration grow as you remain neutral, but you canât bring yourself to side against the people that have accepted you and given you shelter for months. Youâre certain that as much as it frustrates him, he understands, even if he doesnât agree with you.Â
It doesnât stop him from sitting beside you during meals. It doesnât stop him from covering your back when you work with the others to take down Harkonnens, to level a freighter. It doesnât stop the two of you from being near one another during briefings, or sharing knowing looks when you watch Paul and Stilgar disagree. Paul always was an ornery child, and itâs neither a surprise, nor an affront when he argues with authority. Hellâyou wear it as a badge of honor, and youâre certain Stilgar does, too.Â
--Â
When you lose your pack in the midst of battle and your tent is destroyed, you know that you have other options. At worst, you could take an early watch, use the tent of someone that takes it on later. But Gurneyâs hand pats against your lower back as he passes you, the words, âCome on,â Push out of his gruff mouth before you can even think to ask or argue.
You watch him go for a moment before you force yourself to follow. Itâs been a long day of fighting, and youâre not willing to make it longer by nit-picking with him. You just follow him to his tent and duck inside. The two of you undo the clasps and fastenings on your stillsuits in silence. You take a little longer, hesitating and glancing back every few moments as you undo the suit. Itâs been long since youâve undressed near him, and even then youâre certain that he didnât take notice. Now, the space is nearly cramped with the two of you, filled with the sounds of zips and pops. Once youâve disrobed, you hurriedly change into your nightclothesâa flimsy, thin top and a pair of loose fitting pants.Â
By the time you turn to face him, Gurney has laid out the pad that youâll both sleep on, cushioning you from the sand as you rest. He hasnât taken up his place yet, and while youâd like to linger until heâs made himself comfortable, you force yourself to lie down and curl up on your side. You feel more than hear him settle beside you, the pad shifting slightly as he sinks down onto it. The two of you lay in the dark, still silence for a little while.Â
â...What happened to your balliset?â You canât stand the quiet, and canât bring yourself to ask about anything else.Â
â...It blew up.âÂ
âPaul?âÂ
âMhm.âÂ
âDamn.âÂ
He huffs a soft laugh that warms you, and you smile.Â
âWeâll get you new one,â You promise before you can stop yourself.Â
âThe Fremen donât have one?âÂ
âThey have something like it. Iâm sure you could learn.âÂ
You hear him shift beside you, and squeeze your eyes shut as his warm breath brushes against your neck.Â
âWould you want me to?âÂ
â...I want you to do anything that you like, Gurney Halleck.âÂ
âAnything?âÂ
âMhm.âÂ
You think that heâll let it end there, and that heâll let you both drift off into a peaceful sleep. Bu when his arm curls around your waist, you know that you wonât be able to sustain as you like.Â
You try to fight it. You want to be a rock in his arms, cold and unmovableâbut when his arm winds around you, you melt into him like butter on warm bread.Â
--Â Â
Waking is slow. Itâs accompanied by murmurs of Chakobsa around your tent, and the shushing of sand and spice around the tent. You sigh softly, shifting between the softness of the mat, and the hard body against yours.Â
You donât dare open your eyes.Â
You can feel his lips and beard brushing tenderly against the curve of your jaw, his fingers flexing against your skin and curling in the hiked-up fabric of your top. You hum softly, tipping your head to the side and letting your forehead knock gently against his. You donât know if heâs awake, but youâre not willing to open your eyes and find out. You expect him to draw back, to extricate his body from yours. And you wait to pull yourself fully from sleep, to draw your stillsuit back on and push away the sensation of being wrapped in his arms.Â
Neither of you make any such move.Â
His lips drift up a touch, pressing tenderly against the crest of your cheekbone. Your hand lifts as if on its own, smoothing against his rough cheek as a heady hum leaves your lips. Gurneyâs grip tightens on your hip, pulling your body flush against his as his kiss brushes down to the upturned corner of your mouth. Your breath catches in your throat, fingers smoothing higher to curl in his hair as his hips roll gently against your side.Â
âGurney.â
His name leaves you wrapped in a breath, wary that anything louder will wake him, truly wake him before youâve had a chance to savor his touch. But he just groans, his nose brushing nuzzling as his lips sleepily find yours. You part your lips unthinkingly, tongues tangling as you trade syrupy-slow kisses.Â
It must be a dreamâyou've gone sleeping walking and been taken by a jinn. This has to be a trick or a trapâbut as Gurney presses cloesr, covering his body with yours and spreading your legs wide to make room for him, you can't bring yourself to care, even if it is. You blink sleepily up at him as he draws away, holding your gaze as you gently comb your nails over his scalp. Your focus is only broken when someone taps on the top on the top of the tent, and Chani's warning of, "Breakfast," Breaks through.
Gurney glances up before his gaze flits to yours, awaiting your approval. You smile, giving a small shake of your head.
"I'm not very hungry."
Gurney's smile widens, eyes brightening with mischief as he lowers himself closer.
"Neither am I."

âHeâs cute, isnât he?â (Y/N) whispered to Paul as they sat next to each other in the imperial dining room, âNot exactly handsome, but distinguishedâŚâ
Paul turned to look at his older cousin, perplexed,
âThe Earlâs son?â He inquired.
Oh right⌠they thought, the son.
(Y/N)âs eyes looked at Earl MacArthurâs son, Mikhail, who was sitting at the other end of the table with the Duke, Lady Jessica, and the War Master. Sure, he was handsome. But his eyes were dull and the only time he exhibited any sort of excitement was when he talked about inheriting his fatherâs rice empire. In other words, he was boring beyond belief. But he wasnât the man who attracted their eyes. It was the man sitting diagonal to him. The War Master, Gurney Halleck.
His strong arms and calloused fingers made fire spread all over their skin. When he brushed his hand gently against their shoulder, when directing them into the proper stance for sparing, left goosebumps. Unknowingly, he was the subject of several stares from them. With them starting when (Y/N) came to Caladan to study interplanetary politics with their uncle, the Duke. (Y/N) thought they were safe to gaze at him a little longer, but sooner rather than later,
âGurney!â Paul whisper-yelled, while accidentally slamming his fork down onto the table and making it clatter.
âShut up!â They expressed that at the same time, the room went silent.
âIs everything alright?â the Duke asked with concern written on his face. Heat began to creep onto (Y/N) and Paulâs faces at the intrusion.
âOh yes, everything-â (Y/N) announced before Paul cut in too quickly,
âItâs all fine here!â
âAlright,â Duke Leto replied, unconvinced, âcontinue.â
Just as fast as it started, everyone in the room began to fall into the rhythm they were in before. The room was filled with idle chatter and laughing once more. (Y/N) had their head down, looking at their plate, for the rest of the dinner only to bring it up while replying to a remark made by one of the guests at the table. And while it was down, they wouldnât notice Gurney Halleck peeking over to ensure they were okay.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was just after dinner and Paul and (Y/N) were strolling blankly through the halls.
âI just donât get what you see in him.â Paul began, âHeâs not handsome or distinguished and contrary to popular belief, heâs not that great of a singer.â
âI thought you liked the man?â (Y/N) retorted.
âYeah, as a teacher. Not as a suitor for you.â Paul stated like a lady of old that (Y/N) had studied years ago.
âBut heâs just so-â
â(Y/N), heâs virtually bald.â Paul interrupted, âIf you liked the person I said, I could condone that because he still has a full head of hair.â
âOh please,â they scoffed, âwe all know itâs thinning.â
âWe all know whose hair is thinning?â Said that familiar gruff voice behind them, with a hint of a smile.
(Y/N) and Paul turned around to see Gurney Halleck standing with his feet shoulders width apart and hands behind his back. They were dumbfounded. They didnât know how long he had been following them or how much he had heard. In some odd way, they had been caught.
Both of them lost their bearings and began to start mumbling out things that didnât even make sense in this context.
âOh look at the time!â Paul said while looking at his wrist that lacked a watch.
âI must be going!â He affirmed before all but running down the hall.
(Y/N) folded their lips together and started to pick at the skin around their thumb as Gurney began to walk closer to them; until he was arms length apart.
âI didnât mean to intrude on your conversion, but it got interesting closer to the end.â He divulged. His lips were slightly quirked at the side of his mouth and his eyes had a newfound twinkle that wasnât there before. Maybe it was the moonlight shining through a nearby open window, but (Y/N) thought that he was more beautiful than before.
âMikhail,â they breathed out, âHeâs the one whose hair is thinningâŚâ They shifted their weight from heel to heel and picked their head up to look at him.
âThat's who me and Paul were talking about.â They said quietly.
âAnd the other man?â He brought up teasingly. âWhoâs he?â
âThe man who is âbaldâ, an awful singer, and one of Paulâs teachers.â He toyed, âWho is he? Do I know him?â
âGurney Halleck, how dare you assume I would partake in gossip like that!â (Y/N) fibbed to try and cover themself.
They turned around and began to walk away from the situation. But, the War Master only followed. He let them walk for a little bit before taking long strides to catch up to them. When he caught up, he grasped their wrist gently but firmly and spun them around to face him. (Y/N)âs hands fell onto his expansive shoulders. They could feel the old scars beneath the perfectly pressed uniform he wore for such an occasion. Their eyes were in a constant fight between looking at his lips and his eyes. His arm was wrapped around their waist and the other rested on the side of their arm.
âCome on, you can tell me.â He pleaded. His voice was lighter and his eyes were clear.
âGurney Halleck.â they answered. âHow dare you assume I partake in gossip like that.â
Their lips met in a frenzy. Gurneyâs arm tightened around (Y/N)âs torso and pulled them in closer; his hand traveled from their arm to neck and his thumb made small circles. Their hands moved from his shoulders to his face as they continued to passionately kiss in the middle of the hall. They were chest to chest and oblivious to the world around them. It was like they became one person. It could have been minutes or hours before, breathlessly, they pulled apart, panting like dogs in the sun. The silence enveloped them like a shield protecting them from the blade of the world.
âIs it correct to assume that this man is in the room with us?â Gurney proposed to wind them up.
âNo, that's incorrect. Heâs the man in front of me.â (Y/N) came out with before kissing him again with even more passion.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
âSo you and Gurney spoke last nightâ
âShut up, Paul.â
