Now that Gungrave Tumblr has found me, I'm posting this silly little meme I made.
Like, can we talk about this one scene in G.O.R.E. where Grave just gave the hardest and sassiest judgemental stare? I know homedude wanted to say something so bad. 💀

Ideas that I want to discuss on this blog
This isn’t in any order or anything this is just a bunch of thoughts I’ve wanted to talk about regarding this lovely series.
Trigun/Gungrave narrative & themes comparison: On a scale of "love and peace" to "kick their ass"
Brandon Heat is a combination of both Vash and Wolfwood
Is Bunji Kugashira similar to Nicholas D. Wolfwood in certain aspects besides appearance?
Vash & Knives vs. Brandon & Harry: Expectations of trust/loyalty
Bunji Kugashira's hangups about brothers (first Juji then Brandon?)
What's the history between the Kugashira brothers?
How canon is the Gungrave anime to the first Gungrave video game? Was Overdose supposed to bridge the two (appearance of Sherry???)
Why isn't there more Gungrave/Trigun crossover content?
Tsuneo Imahori is so good at music dude: How the Gungrave soundtracks create another layer of atmosphere & emotion
What the fuck was up with Gungrave VR & Gungrave G.O.R.E.?
How and why is Rocketbilly Redcadillac?
I want to see more hijinks with Juji and RB, they are sooooo
Why is Juji not in G.O.R.E.? (Sad but probably not canon idea that he was eventually overcome by the SEED in him)
What it's like to be a deadman aka why don't we let the Gungrave cast experience body horror too
Madhouse wanted the Gungrave anime to be a spiritual successor of the 1998 Trigun anime
Will there ever be another entry in the franchise after G.O.R.E.?
Trigun and Gungrave say aliens are real folks (maybe canon maybe not)
Beyond the Grave & Vincent Valentine: Two ultra sad goth bois that just want to take a nap in their coffins
Feel free to make your own post for any of these ideas or something. As I said before my activity on this blog is going to be pretty inconsistent so don’t expect anything from me anytime soon. Then again just last night I started writing a short little Juji story but I don’t know when I’m gonna finish it. I also plan to do fanart but motivation to draw has honestly become more evasive than wanting to write. If you have any questions or suggestions I’d love to read them in the comments or tags at least. See you guys later!

GunGrave Keyblades!
COFFIN FILLER-
A Keyblade modeled after the brutal weapons used by Beyond the Grave in GunGrave! This Keyblade increased damage tremendously! The hilt of the Keyblade is designed after the two guns used by Grave, Cerberus Left Head and Right Head, with two spikes driven in. The shaft of the blade is formed by the coffin worn by Grave, the Death Hauler that also forms the handle. The teeth are formed by one of the many gears.  The token is that of the Demolition Shot Gauge. The world logo comes from the city in which all the games take place. The name of the keyblade comes from the copious amount of death that Grave gives out.
WALKING CORPSES-
A Keyblade modeled after the weapons of the Deadmen of GunGrave Overdose! This Keyblade provides boosts to Thunder and Fire skills. The hiltgaurd of the Keyblade is designed after the newly designed Death Hauler coffin used by Grave. The hilt and shaft of the blade are designed after Juji's Gunblades. The teeth of the blade is designed after the railgun part of Rocketbilly's guitar. The token is designed after the Seed Seeker built by Spike. The World Logo comes from the place where the Corsione Family operates. The name comes from the fact that Grave and Juji are reanimated corpses, RB is a ghost, but we can't leave him out.
REAPER TIME-
A Keybladed modeled after the Death Hauler from GunGrave VR! This keyblade is designed to give Slowness to the targets! The hilt of the blade comes from the "Kick their Asses" spash screen that appears per mission, with the shaft appearing similar to the Death Hauler that Grave uses in the game. At the center of the Death Hauler ring is the retical seen in game, with the teeth coming from the prongs seen from the Hauler. The token is that again of the skull that is the signal for when a Demolition Shot was ready. The world logo is inspired by the GunGrave VR logo. The name comes from a gimmick used in this game that allows Grave to slow down time for a bit.
DEATH MARCH-
A Keyblade modeled after the asthetic of GunGrave G.O.R.E.! This Keyblade is designed to have endless combos! The shaft and hilt of the blade is designed after the cross that appears on the back of the Death Hauler and Grave's jacket. The hilt and crossguard is designed after the tech found on the Death Hauler. The teeth are Fluers designed after the Saw-combo that Grave has. The token is once more the Skull indicator of the Demolition Shots. The World Logo comes from the Scumland that appears common throughout the game. The name is an alternative name for Funeral March, a military procedure for the dead.

I think it's kind of funny how popular the theory/hc that Bunji Kugashira is actually just Wolfwood's reanimated corpse because on one hand, the setting in which Gungrave takes place is oddly similar to Gunsmoke, and we're all just laughing at how attached to El Woofwoof Nightow is, but on the other hand, goddamn, my man truly cannot catch a break, Nightow can you please just let him REST?

So with the recent Gungrave G.O.R.E news a lot of people have already pointed out that Bunji shares a resemblance to Wolfwood… but you know that other guy? The one some have said shares a resemblance to Vash? Well,, I just found out that his name is..,
Fucking,,
Rocketbilly Redcadillac

Ok I'm obsessed with Trigun and picked up Gungrave (the game mostly but did glance at the anime)
Here are some Wolfwood VS Kugashira Bunji facts
-Wolfwood is woowoo, but Bunji is known as The Wolf
-Bunji's Rage trigger is literally him lighting a cigarette. Wolfwood would probably do the same. It's the nicotine hit
-Bunji somehow summons fkn WOLVES instead of having a super healing juice
-Both were little scrappy things as they were younger
-Wolfwood got "raised" but the EoM, Bunji by the streets
-They both found wannabe salvation in their 'mentors' (Wolfwood with his mark, Bunji with his superior)
-"I want to kill you. I really want to kill you according to my orders but I really don't want to"
And for Nightow;
-There's still worms in Gungrave, they look like lamprey
-One place is called No Man's??
-The designs scream Nightow. Yes.
-The evil drug is called SEED
-The names! (Brandon Heat! Beyond the Grave! So over the top!)
Most definitely forgot stuff. I love that game. Gungrave GORE isnt that bad, y'all just haven't unlocked Bunji

Hello there fellow Gungrave fans!
(all 4 to 5 of you who still post)
I created this blog with the intention of adding my thoughts to this lovely series. Once again Yasuhiro Nightow tore out my heart right after I discovered Trigun. Even though Gungrave isn’t one of his more popular works I feel it still deserves some attention. While I admit that narratively Trigun still remains the more compelling of Nightow’s works (I haven’t seen Blood Blockade Battlefront yet please no spoilers) I loved Gungrave enough to buy the Dark Horse artbook! Ranging from stupid shitposts and analysis on both the games and anime adaptation, I would love to discuss this odd little gem with others so feel free to message me!
(However, I should add that my attention span and willingness to share my thoughts with others is a fickle thing so if I don’t respond to you please don’t take it personally. Interacting with people in any sort of capacity drains my social battery.)
