I'm very excited to announce The Harbinger's Path, a Trahearne and Malyck Guild Wars 2 fan comic!

I've made a little preview page with more info coming soon! The address is in the last image above.

The Harbinger’s Path is a completely fan-made project, unofficial, and not affiliated with ArenaNet – it’s a small passion-project I’ve decided to do while not part of the Creative Partnership, as I felt more comfortable working on something more personal to me on my own.

Especially as I’m not sure how much interest there might be in this project beyond my own specific tastes - though of course, I hope someone else might also enjoy it, too. ;)

Also, I've seen the recent tumblr posts - I'm hopeful this site will keep on kicking, but just in case: I plan to also post updates to bsky, and I even learned how to add an RSS feed for the website :O The link is on the preview page!

(If I had known how easy it was to create your own RSS feed, I would have done so years ago!)

My favorite fun facts about each GW2 main race

Humans

- they literally are aliens. Like. This is just a canon fact. Also they're everywhere. Literally they spread everywhere. Kudzu ass race

- the norn Commander calls humans "so territorial"

- religious trauma: the fantasy race

Charr

- it is implied that charr can get high on catnip

- they might all have mercury poisoning and this might be why the olmakhan are so chill in comparison

- the art team threatened to give female charr six boobs

Asura

- inspired by Stewie Griffin

- their racial language is partly mathematical. They fucking speak math

- idfk just look at them. Squishing them like eye pop toy

Sylvari

- we have no actual idea what the full lifespan of a Sylvari is- they've only died of unnatural causes

- they have golden blood. This is never shown in game but I like this very much

- they can't reproduce sexually but can have sex. And they do. Tf

I really only play one MMO, Guild Wars 2. I play it because it's always been respectful of my time.

It never negatively pressures me to play it everyday.

It never punishes me for taking time away and returning.

It never forces me to grind for hundreds of hours relying on RNG.

It never forces me to have a coordinated group of people with a consistent schedule.

I love it for all that. It's not like most MMOs because of all this. It's also unfortunately what a lot of "more intense" gamers complain about. They complain about it being too casual but honestly it just sounds like they're upset they have little to no way to gatekeep the experience.

God forbid you have other hobbies or games to play! God forbid something happens in your life and you need to take time away! Instead of punishing you, the game is good at just welcoming you right back in where you left off. It's comforting and honestly I hope it never changes. It's a reliable game I can always return to no matter how long it's been.
