Flower of the Dawn Court
Please enjoy this little oneshot 🌼🌸
Summary: It is Thesan's wedding day and all of Prythian seems to have been invited. His daughter's, y/n and Dalia, have played wedding planners ahead of their father's big day; but nothing ever goes to plan when the 7 High Lords come together.
This oneshot is set at the beginning of A Court of Mist and Fury.
Reader's POV
It was a beautiful, warm morning in Dawn Court. The sun had slowly started to rise over the horizon, the birds were singing their love songs quietly, the tune carried by the breeze. You were stood on the balcony of your bedroom, a coffee in hand, enjoying the peacefulness of nature before the day fully erupted.
Today was your father's wedding day. After his experiences under the mountain, he hadn't waited a single second before letting the Captain know his true feelings and the pair agreed to marry as soon as feasibly possible. The wedding was the first to take place since Amarantha was slain and it felt like all of Prythian had been invited to Dawn, including the remaining 6 High Lords.
A door opens to my left and I turn to see Dalia, my sister, appear with a steaming cup of coffee to join me. Dalia and I were adopted by Thesan as babies when we were left on his doorstep. Dalia arrived a few months before I did, but Thesan treated us like we were his own flesh and blood; raising us in Dawn amongst the greats. Rumour had it that Dalia was even next in line to inherit the title of High Lady of Dawn, despite not being a blood relation. I grin at my sister as she reaches out an arm to embrace me.
"I can't believe the day is finally here", she says, pulling me closer into her side.
"He deserves this, every bit of happiness the world can offer him and more". Dalia nods her head in agreement as we gaze out over the gardens, watching the staff begin to set up the arch and the seats for the ceremony.
Turning the my wardrobe, I pull out the dress that was custom made for today. A beautiful shade of deep crimson with golds heels and jewellery to match. Dalia was to wear similar, only hers was a deep shade of blood orange. We looked magnificent.
"Time to get ready", I grin to my sister, as she rushes forward to pull her dress from the hanger.
Several hours later and both Dalia and I were dressed and ready, our hair and make-up perfect. We watched with tears in our eyes as Thesan and the Captain shared their first moment of seeing each other dressed for their wedding, and took more photos than there were stars in the sky as our newfound family of 4. We could hear the hustle and bustle of guests arriving and taking their seats, and soon the bell called to let us know it was time for the ceremony to begin.
"I love you girls with all my heart", my father said, pulling Dalia and I in for a hug. When we finally let him go, he walked to the entranceway and began his walk up the aisle.
Dalia and I were next. Our heritage remained unknown, with neither of us caring too much to know more about the family that had abandoned us, but it was clear from which court's we heralded. Dalia was without a doubt a descendant of the Day Court, her power to wield sunbeams could rival even the most talented magic in her native lands. I, however, was born of Spring; and beheld the power to command flowers. Dalia used to tease me that I had the 'flower power' when we were children, especially when our father was teaching us how to manage our powers and I accidentally caused flowers to bloom from every wall, floor, and ceiling of the Dawn Court palace. One time I even bloomed a flower from the top of my head and couldn't quite grasp my magic enough to make it vanish - leaving me with a real-life flower crown for several days. Thankfully, Dalia and I had mastered our powers eventually, and could put them to good use today.
Arms linked, we walked down the aisle, smiling around to our many guests. Dalia commanded the sunlight to shine down and spotlight our father, with wisps of sunbeams dancing around the garden to the tune of the choir. With soft gestures of my arms, I yielded flowers from my fingertips, allowing them to fall from the sky amongst the seats and along the aisle. As we rounded off to the alter, kissing our father's cheeks as we went, we watched as the Captain appeared at the entrance of the walkway.
The ceremony was nothing short of jaw-droppingly beautiful, and the crowd roared with delight as our father and the Captain were pronounced married. The 4 of us embraced at the altar and we walked hand in hand back down the aisle towards the evening celebrations.
On arrival at the reception, with a glass of champagne in hand, Dalia and I made our way around the guests to welcome them to Dawn. The High Lords had all agreed to attend and many were staying in rooms at the palace tonight, allowing them to indulge in the festivities to their heart's content. Only Kallias of Winter and Beron of Autumn were leaving tonight; Kallias to return home with his heavily pregnant wife, and Beron because - well - he's Beron.
A brief disagreement caught our attention as we turned in the direction of the Night Court table. Rhysand and his Inner Circle were all present for the wedding, as was Rhysand's plus one - Feyre Cursebreaker. It was made public soon after what happened under the mountain that Rhysand and Feyre had made a bargain that she stay at the Night Court for a week per month, and it looked like Rhysand had decided to take that week now, stealing Feyre as his guest to the wedding so that Tamlin wasn't able to. Dalia chuckled, clearly enjoying the drama of it all. Honestly, Prythian was slowly turning into a real-life drama production these days.
We approached their table to greet them, bowing to Rhysand and offering our hand to the Inner Circle members.
"Thank you for attending the wedding, High Lord", Dalia offered, her head still bowed as she addressed Rhysand.
"It was our pleasure, Dalia, thank you for inviting us. The ceremony was wonderful", he replied.
As you made your way around the table, greeting each member, you reached out a hand to greet Feyre. Although she sat with a frown on her face, her body caved inwards and away from Rhysand, she offered out her hand to shake yours.
"Thank you for coming, Feyre", you offered gently. You felt her hand untense in yours as you addressed her personally, and she relaxed her posture slightly.
"It was a beautiful day. Your's and your sister's powers are really something else, I know my sister Elain would love to be able to create flowers at her whim".
You smile as you withdraw your hand and Feyre looks up to meet your eyes. You see her's widen and she quietly gasps. Not quietly enough, however, to evade the notice of everyone sat at the table, who turn to look at you with confusion.
"Is everything ok, Feyre?" you ask with concern, taking a step backwards in case you startled her.
"I'd know those eyes anywhere".
You look at her your face laced with confusion, as you turn to look at Dalia for assistance. She offers you a shrug as you both turn to Rhysand, hoping for an explanation. He, too, however, looks completely at a loss.
"Feyre?", he asks, reaching out a hand to touch her shoulder. The entire table is silent, waiting for Feyre to respond, but her eyes remain frozen on yours.
"Feyre?", you try, crouching down to be in front of her seat.
"I'd know those eyes anywhere", she repeats. "I fell in love with them".
The entire table exchanges confused glances, now becoming concerned that Feyre is speaking in tongues and not making any sense. You stand and turn to Rhysand, about to offer to get Thesan in case Feyre needed a healer, when Amren, Rhysand's second in command, also gasps.
"By the Cauldron", is all she could get out, looking past your shoulder to the crowd behind you.
You turn, trying to find the source of Amren's shock, only to lock eyes with a pair of matching emerald ones that were staring back at you, widened in surprise. Eyes that mirrored yours in every way. Eyes that could belong to no one other than your biological father.
The High Lord of Spring.

Beautiful Gatherings - Working With A Wedding Planner In Singapore? Avoid These Mistakes
The purpose of bringing on a wedding planner in Singapore is to make your big day more convenient, memorable, and enjoyable. With their assistance, you can prepare for your wedding without feeling overwhelmed. However, people make mistakes when working with a wedding coordinator too often. It can ultimately leave them feeling disappointed.
To ensure the best possible results, here are the eight common mistakes to avoid when dealing with a wedding planner in Singapore!
1) Assuming the wedding planner will take care of everything. Even though a wedding coordinator is an expert at organising events, they are not there to do everything. Remember that they are there to provide advice, planning, and assistance. You should ensure to communicate what it is you want. It also helps ensure that you are both on the same page.
2) Not having a budget. Creating a budget is essential for anyone with wedding planning in Singapore. It is imperative to ensure you have a budget before beginning the process with a wedding planner. That way, you can clearly communicate what is within your price range or not. It can also help ensure the wedding does not cost you more than you can afford.
3) Sticking to traditions. Every family and religion have its own fair share of tradition. And, of course, it is great to honour your family’s practices during your wedding day. Additionally, it can help ensure it will work according to your and your partner’s vision for the wedding. Never be afraid to make changes as needed—your wedding is ultimately about celebrating the two of you, so make sure the wedding planning in Singapore reflects that.
4) Not knowing the terms and conditions. Your wedding coordinator should discuss the terms and conditions of the agreement before you start planning. Consider talking about and clarifying things like payment expectations, cancellation policies, communication options, and any other expectations in the beginning.
5) Not trusting the wedding planner’s advice. With wedding planning in Singapore, not everyone will have the same ideas or solutions. A wedding coordinator has the knowledge, skills, and experience to make the best decisions. On top of all that, they can help you avoid costly mistakes. Trust your wedding planner and play an active role. But also, do not micromanage every decision.
6) Having a large number of guests. While more guests are always better, it is vital not to invite too many people. The more people who attend, the more expensive the wedding. If you do not want to reduce the number of guests, trust that your wedding coordinator will budget accordingly.
7) Not delegating tasks. A wedding planner in Singapore is an excellent resource for taking some of the workloads off your plate. Have a discussion on how to delegate tasks responsibly so you can ensure that everything gets done correctly and on time.
8) Not having a backup plan. There will always be a chance that something can go wrong on the wedding day! So, ensure you have a backup plan in case of an emergency. The entire wedding planning in Singapore can be anything from booking an alternate venue to having an extra suit or dress in case of a wardrobe malfunction.
It is easy to feel overwhelmed with wedding planning in Singapore. However, with proper research, a clear list of tasks, and delegation, you can ensure your wedding day is a success. While working with a wedding planner can be a great asset, keeping these eight common mistakes in mind will help you maximise your experience for the best possible results.

KNOCK IT OFF: Jackie's pink suit in Big D
Kennedy took image, organization seriously
First lady’s wardrobe list for fateful 1963 Texas visit reveals her preparation for appearances
Jacqueline Kennedy’s recently resurfaced packing list for the fateful autumn trip to Texas she took with her then-husband, President John F. Kennedy, contains plenty of interest for fashion historians. In the margins of the weekend’s itinerary, which she had written out for her personal assistant, the first lady scheduled the visit outfit by outfit. For the day of Nov. 21, 1963, her look would be head-to-toe Chanel: a white coat, skirt and blouse, with a black hat atop her head and a gold-and-navy bracelet on her wrist (“safety pin,” she wrote underneath, perhaps in reference to its clasp).
In the evening, she would don a black velvet dress with satin shoes and white kid gloves. And of course, the jewelry had been considered: pearls with a diamond bracelet and earrings.
Kennedy was not one to leave room for surprises. But even the best-laid plans can change.
The gloves, for one, surfaced on her descent from Air Force One in Houston, paired with the daytime Chanel suit. If she wore the bracelet, it went unseen. And the days that followed would stray much further from the first lady’s notes.
Her bloodstained pink Chanel suit tells more acutely than any other image the story of what happened in Dallas on Friday, Nov. 22.
But the notes she prepared for her personal assistant, Providencia Paredes, read as stage directions for a weekend of political theater and a catalog of the wardrobe that made her the most fashionable first lady of the 20th century, referenced by her successors to this day. Kennedy was best known, during her time in the White House, for the uniform of her public appearances: the tailored skirt suits, shift dresses, layered pearls, white gloves and pillbox hats photographed around the world.
But her leisure wear — the equestrian gear, swimsuits and cotton summer clothes immortalized in photos of family trips — also became a part of her visual imprint.
Many of those signature items were penciled into the itinerary for the Texas trip, including suits and dresses in summery shades of yellow, blue and green, and riding clothes for an appointment at Lyndon B. Johnson’s ranch on Nov. 23.
There are many mentions in her notes of Oleg Cassini, the designer who became Kennedy’s personal dressmaker in 1961: a green wool suit (“for Mex not used”), a white crepe coat, a short pink crepe dress, a long mauve one, an orange coat and dress (“silk — worn in Udaipur, India — on lake”).
Another favorite of the first lady, Gustave Tassell, appears on the packing list for a baby blue dress that Kennedy also wore in India.
Her detailed lists, many of which make reference to past manifestations of the dresses, are a view into the mind of a woman who took both image and organization very seriously. Stacey Bredhoff, the curator of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, described Kennedy as a “meticulous planner” who concerned herself with every detail of ceremonial events: the guest lists, the menus, the seating arrangements, the flowers and of course the clothes.
The museum’s collection contains 95 of her dresses, including the white Chanel suit she wore on Nov. 21 and the orange silk Cassini dress from the state visit to India.
“We don’t have everything that she wore as first lady,” said James Wagner, the Kennedy museum’s exhibit specialist, “but our understanding is that once she left the White House, as far as we can tell, things that she wore at public events or during official travels, she set those aside and didn’t wear them again after 1963 with the intent that she would deed them to the library for our collection and for potential display in our museum.”
Some of the first lady’s best-known garments reside in and around the federal capital.
The pink suit is being kept under climate-controlled wraps outside of Washington by the National Archives and Records Administration, barred from public view until 2103. Kennedy’s inauguration dress, by Ethel Frankau of Bergdorf Goodman under her direction, is kept at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
In 2003, Paredes and Mary B. Gallagher, the first lady’s personal secretary, consigned together a number of Kennedy items.
Those that sold included some of Kennedy’s squaretoe leather shoes, her nightgowns and sleep bonnets, and cotton summer dresses, which had not been kept in the best condition.
It’s one of the reasons so many of her archived items are seldom seen.
“One thing about the dresses is that they are very fragile, and the best thing you can do to take care of them is to keep them stored in a cool, dark place,” Bredhoff said. “So we’re very careful about how much time they can be out on display, exposed to the light and so on.” In their thoughtful, organized detail, though, the notes from the Texas trip might say more about the first lady than the clothes ever could. Bonnie Wertheim, The New York Times
Chez Ninon worked with Chanel in an agreement known as "Line for Line" it was Chanel's true pattern, Chanel fabric and trim- actually from Rue Cambon- so It was as Chanel as one could get without going to Paris- Balenciaga did something similar with his Eisa line sold in Spai

Digital Wedding Invitations: Where Tradition Meets Technology
Trending digital wedding invite: Trending digital wedding invites entail lustrous graphics and sound combined with the latest designs. Wedding monograms are among the newest and most loved additions to digital wedding invites. We love the attention to detail in this particular element. Whether you're a modern couple or a traditional one, trending digital invites will appeal to you because of how customizable they are.
Save The Date E Invites: Save The Date e-invites are the first wedding stationery you can send out. It is a Western concept but a beneficial one indeed. It gives your wedding guests time to plan their leaves and looks. Instead of going for a Save The Date Card, you can choose to go paperless and make a unique Save The Date E-Invite. The best part is that it can be as illustrative and personalized as you want.
Digital Wardrobe Planner: Digital wardrobe planners are all the rage right now. Couples are making wardrobe planners an essential part of their wedding stationery because they help them ensure a harmonious wedding aesthetic. A digital wardrobe planner helps you create a more engaging brief for your guests to follow, which in turn helps you coordinate your and your wedding guests' outfits better.
Personalized digital wedding invites: Personalized digital wedding invitations have taken centre stage. They also go by caricature digital wedding invites. They are super personalized and integrate the face of both you and your partner into your wedding invite. Handling Last-Minute Wedding Day Emergencies: Tips from a South Carolina Wedding Planner
Your wedding day is one of the most significant events of your life, and you've meticulously planned every detail to make it perfect. However, despite your best efforts, unexpected emergencies can still arise. As a South Carolina wedding planner, I've encountered various last-minute mishaps over the years. In this blog, I'll share some valuable tips on how to handle these unforeseen challenges and ensure that your special day remains as magical as you envisioned.
Stay Calm and Delegate:
When confronted with an emergency, it's essential to remain calm and composed. Assign specific tasks to trusted friends, family members, or your wedding party to alleviate some of the burdens. Delegating responsibilities will allow you to focus on resolving the issue while others assist in implementing alternative plans.
Backup Vendors and Contacts:
As a South Carolina wedding planner, I always emphasize the significance of having backup vendors and contact information. From florists to photographers, having reliable alternatives can save the day in case of cancellations or no-shows. Make sure to keep a list of backups ready and share it with your wedding coordinator or a trusted point person.
Weather Contingency Plan:
Outdoor weddings in South Carolina are beautiful, but the weather can be unpredictable. Create a weather contingency plan beforehand and discuss it with your wedding venue coordinator. Having indoor arrangements ready or renting tents can keep you and your guests comfortable even if Mother Nature decides to be challenging.
First Aid Kit and Essentials:
A small first aid kit can be a lifesaver for minor emergencies like blisters or headaches. Additionally, packing essentials such as safety pins, sewing kit, and stain remover can quickly fix wardrobe malfunctions. Entrust these items to your maid of honor or a family member, so they are readily available when needed.
Communication is Key:
In times of crisis, communication becomes vital. Keep your guests informed about any changes in the schedule or venue due to emergencies. Utilize social media, wedding websites, or even designated family members to spread the word.
Have a Professional Wedding Planner:
Hiring a South Carolina wedding planner can significantly reduce the stress of handling last-minute emergencies. Experienced planners have encountered various situations and are equipped to handle them efficiently. They can also provide expert advice and quick solutions to keep the wedding running smoothly.
Conclusion,
While no one anticipates last-minute emergencies on their wedding day, being prepared for them can make all the difference. By staying calm, having contingency plans in place, and enlisting the help of a South Carolina wedding planner, you can overcome any challenges that come your way and focus on celebrating the joyous occasion with your loved ones. Remember, the day is about love, commitment, and the beginning of a beautiful journey together, no matter what hurdles may arise.

10 Essential Tips For Planning A Beach Wedding In Florida
What could be more romantic than a Florida beach wedding? Synonym for year-round sunshine, beautiful beaches, and diverse offerings, Florida has everything you could ask for a perfect wedding.
Unfortunately, a beach wedding is not a bed of roses. Bad weather, wardrobe malfunction, guests not able to come, etc. Many things can ruin your big day.
The key to a successful beach wedding is planning and preparation. Here at Your Dream Beach Wedding, we provide ten fool-proof tips for planning a beach wedding in Florida.
1. Decide the location
The most crucial step in planning a beach wedding is choosing a location. Public beaches are great for taking your vows as they are pretty accessible.
2. Time your beach wedding
With any wedding planning, timing is everything.
It is even more critical when planning a beach wedding in Florida. We will not lie; an outdoor summer wedding is hot, especially in the middle of the day. You and your guests could end up soaked in wet, looking haggard in photos.
You can lower the chances of having a wedding ceremony on a hot day with the timing. You can schedule your wedding ceremony during sunrise or late in the afternoon, and the hues of the sun make for the best photo backdrops.
3. Think about the guests
When planning a beach wedding, it is essential to make your guests feel comfortable and have a great time.
Choose an accessible location with great food and catering service, accommodation, and logistics.
Send the invites at least a month before your beach wedding so they can prepare for it. Also, let them know whether you will arrange the transportation or they must come by themselves. Brief them with the directions and best routes to reach your wedding location.
If you have guests with toddlers, plan for their safety. Your Dream Beach Wedding has safe and accessible beach wedding venues to help guests have a great time without any worries.
4. Choose appropriate wedding attire
We know the excitement of shopping for a wedding dress, but choose a lightweight, flowy dress for a beach wedding that moves beautifully in the breeze.
The guys can have some great lighter colors, lightweight, and slightly more casual options for beach weddings.
Also, let your guests know about the recommended dress attire, and it will ensure guests stay comfortable during the ceremony and reception.
6. Share the beach life experience
There are incredible Florida experiences to share with your guests, and you can do that in their welcome bags.
You can share some of your favorite attractions, local breweries, or restaurants in a welcome letter, along with Florida citrus or local treats with some sunscreen or lip balm.
7. Consider your guest’s budgets
When you choose a location, select one with more than one price point for hotel stays. Only some guests can afford to stay in luxurious hotels, while some prefer the finest hotels.
So, offering various options a short distance from each other makes sense, allowing your guests to attend your destination wedding.
8. Plan activities
Your guests are coming a long way to be with you on your special day. Make it memorable for them with popular Florida activities like a trip to the aquarium, beach volleyball, parasailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, jet skiing, or snorkeling. These are excellent ways to create a memorable destination wedding experience for you and your guests.
9. Have a backup plan
No matter how comprehensive your original plan is, mishaps can happen. So, ensure you have a backup plan, especially for weather changes.
By having a backup plan, you can ensure your dream beach wedding is fantastic.
10. Find a specialist
With guidance, planning your Florida beach wedding can be easy. So, hire a planner to save you headaches, time, and money.
These are the top 10 tips for planning a beach wedding in Florida that you must follow to have the perfect wedding.

when the wicked play - the unwritten future
Second post! Here’s the stuff in my head I never got to write.
When we left Vex and Percy in the last posted snippet, they had just dealt with one (1) asshole ambassador of a father, and were heading back to the party so Vex could finish her job and Percy could avoid getting yelled at by his family.
- The part that tripped me up and eventually halted the whole damned thing was that I never came up with an excuse I liked well enough to get Vex and Percy back into her office alone after the prime minister’s speech. Because that’s where they were going to end up. Making out. Perhaps more, but probably just getting to the point where they might go farther on top of her desk when a knock at the door interrupted them.
- The interruption? Whitney, who noted their departure together, as well as the paparazzi photographer who somehow realized Percy had come back into the private office area and snuck in after him. The twins, being the family’s resident gossip experts, decided to use their own reputations as a distraction and Oliver was currently distracting the photographer while Whitney came to warn the two of them.
- Vex is mortified, Percy only slightly less so, but he’s infinitely grateful that his most troublesome siblings came to his rescue. Percy and Whitney leave together, Vex heads through the back employee hallways to re-enter the party somewhere else. They’ve headed off a publicity disaster(?). For now.
- Percy is almost happy to pay the requisite price of enduring the twins’ waggling eyebrows and related snark, and the party comes to a smooth close. Guests and media leave the park, and Percy makes excuses to linger behind so he can talk to Vex again.
- Vex freaks out a bit - the encounter with her father has left her really skittish about what anyone would say about her being with Percy, especially today - but Vax and Keyleth are around and talk her down from her panic attack.
- He waits in the parking lot until she emerges, at which point he asks if she’d like to go get something to eat, like a date or something. She responds with a smile and says she ate some of the leftovers, so she’s not hungry, but if he wants to take her somewhere private so they can continue their “conversation” from the other night, she’s all in. Percy, naturally, is 10000% on board with this. They kiss in the parking lot before taking off in Percy’s fancy car.
- Their affection and departure are not unnoticed by a lurking paparazzi. But that’s for later.
- Percy’s penthouse. Sex. A lot of it. Also some talking about their lives, but let’s be real, it would have mostly been sex. Vex ends up staying overnight.
- They’re woken the next morning by the insistent buzzing of Percy’s phone. He sees like 30 text messages and half a dozen missed calls from various family members, but he doesn’t get a chance to figure out what it’s about before another call rings in - Vesper, nearly screeching at him. “YOU ASSHOLE WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME IT WAS VEX’AHLIA???”
- One of the local gossip websites has posted a picture of Percy and Vex kissing in the parking lot. It has a surprising amount of information on Vex, including that she’s Syldor Vessar’s daughter, and the event planner for yesterday’s party.
- Vex FREAKS. There would probably be a hasty exit here, and maybe an argument between the two of them about why she’s freaking out, because it starts to feel weirdly personal to Percy.
- On his end, Percy doesn’t see the problem - Vesper’s mad at him not because he’s seeing Vex, but because he didn’t TELL her, why didn’t he fucking tell her, why did she have to see it on that fucking website that once posted the picture of Oliver’s dumb “wardrobe malfunction,” it’s not like he needed to keep it a secret because Vex is awesome as far as Vesper is concerned. His mother feels much the same, without the copious use of the word “fuck.” His whole family is basically like “Percy has a GIRLFRIEND, we never thought it would actually happen, she’s awesome and seems like she’ll fit right in, when is she coming over for dinner?”
- Vex, meanwhile, is still dealing with her daddy issues and accompanying terrible sense of self-worth. But of course, she gets herself over it somehow - there might be a more pronounced fuck you to Syldor in here somewhere when he contacts her again - and she and Percy make up.
- Happy ending(?); eventually Vex goes to work for Johanna as her personal event planner, becomes a full and official member of the de Rolo family after Percy proposes during a family vacation over Winter’s Crest to their mountain cabins. And they keep playing their game together, obviously. As well as lot of other video games. They’re very competitive about local coop, and have a lot of very explicit bets that neither one of them minds losing.
And those are my babies, in the end. I miss them a lot. I wish I’d been able to give them the full story they deserved. But for those who wondered about how it would all go, there’s this, at least.
Thank you to everyone who ever read, gave kudos, or sent a comment on this story. I’m absolutely serious when I say that the comments I’ve gotten for When the Wicked Play have saved my mental health some days. I love you all. Hopefully I’ll be able to write more someday, either in this fandom or another. And, as always, all the love and credit to @blindvogel who helped me talk through and create this universe and forever encourages me.
#critical role#vox machina#perc'ahlia#my fic#i wanted more from the ending#but that's another piece that never came together in my head#but in the end all that matters is#percy is surrounded by terrifyingly competent women#just as he likes it

Chapter 19: ILYSB
[prev] [next]
[masterlist]
PLAY THIS FOR EXTRA FEELS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You drive to the farm and see Kita’s truck already parked. Getting out of the car, you see Kita smile at you. Quickly, you run to him then give him a hug. The only light source you have is that one beanpole, the stars and the moon, but Kita is shining as always. “Alisa is going to kill me for meeting you here.”
“Atsumu warned me so many times not to see you, too,” Kita chuckles, embracing you tightly. “It felt so wrong not seeing you for a day.”
“Save that for later,” you warn him, putting a finger over his lips. Kita wants to tell you so many things but you’re right, he should save it for your wedding vows. “I know we’re already married but actually having the wedding feels like I’m getting married again.”
“I’ll marry you everyday if you want,” Kita tells you, planting a soft kiss on your forehead. “Can we practice our first dance? I’m nervous.”
You put your hands together and you lead the dance, guiding him all throughout. “It feels weird without the music,” you comment and Kita just hums.
“Mad cool in all my clothes, mad warm when you get close to me...” He starts so you stop dancing in surprise. He pulls your hand just like in the choreography you both have learned, and this time he’s the one who leads. You are too mesmerized by his voice that it’s all you can think about.
“Slow dance these summer nights. Our disco ball’s my kitchen light,” he continues to sing, and you just smile at him. Even his voice is perfect. What can he not do? You can’t believe that you are serenaded by the one and only Kita Shinsuke.
Seeing the smile on your face, Kita forgets the dance and cups your cheek, allowing your bodies to sway freely. “And you need to know, that nobody can take your place. And you need to know that I’m hella obsessed with your face... your face.” He kisses your nose so you giggle.
Kita places his forehead over yours, hands still on your cheeks, eyes closed with a contented smile on your lips. “Oh my heart hurts so good. I love you, babe, so bad, so bad.”
“I love you, too, so, so, so bad,” you reply, wrapping your arms around his waist. Kita’s eyelids flutter open and he stares you lovingly before pulling you in for a kiss.
“See you later, my bride.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kita is finally wearing the 3-piece grey suit with the help of his groomsmen, aka the Inarizaki Volleyball Team. “I’m nervous,” he tells them with his usual face.
Kita has never felt nervous, but right now, he’s excitedly anxious for unknown reasons. You both love each other and he knows that nothing can go wrong at your wedding, because he made sure of that. He double checked everything even before today, so why is he nervous?
Aran groans, “at least show your nervousness! You still look like you don’t care!” Kita raises his trembling hands and his friends start laughing.
“Did you not practice enough?” Omimi asks.
“I have been practicing my vows since we got back together but I’m still nervous,” Kita admits and everyone else smiles because of his honesty.
Osamu, then, hands Kita a shot of alcohol, confusing the groom so much. “Take a shot for confidence.” Kita’s eyes waver in uncertainty, but takes the shot anyways. He won’t get drunk from one single shot, and he’s willing to do anything that will get rid of the new feeling he has never felt before.
“I think I’m nervous about the dance we’re going to do,” Kita explains.
“Now that you’ve mentioned it, I’m nervous, too,” Aran speaks, staring blankly at the wall. “Whose idea is the surprise dance anyways?”
“It’s Atsumu’s of course,” Suna answers, rolling his eyes.
“It’s all over Youtube! (Y/N) would be so happy if we do it!” Atsumu says with confidence. Kita suddenly lets out a loud shout, silencing the room.
“I’m not angry. I’m just letting out my anxiety,” Kita explains, and the team just sighs in relief.
They hear scratches from the suite’s door so Gin opens opens to see what it is. Rice walks in the room, carrying a paper bag in his mouth. He is wearing a dog suit that is similiar with Kita’s, causing the boys in the room to awe and coo at him.
“Hi, boy! What’s that?” Kita asks the small dog, taking the small paper bag from his mouth. Rice sits in front of him and wags his tail, waiting for Kita to open the box. “Oh, it’s a gift from your mom.”
“Is this how he usually talks with Rice?” Suna asks Osamu, completely new to the scenario in front of him. He has only imagined Kita baby talking with his pet in high school, and this is way better than his imagination allowed.
“Yes. He treats him like his child,” Osamu answers while they stare at the father-son (dog) duo.
Kita pets Rice’s head before opening the bag. He takes out the box that is in it and slowly opens it, painfully making everyone else in the room wait in anticipation. It’s a luxurious watch. He hates it when you give him expensive gifts, but today he’ll let it pass since it’s your wedding. He reads the message on card and snort unknowingly.
When im eighty, I'll look back on three big things in my life: getting married, having kids and the first time I laid eyes on you.
Kita takes a small gift bag from his bag and let’s Rice bite on the string as well. “Give this to your mom.” He orders Rice and the dog leaves the room to go back to yours.
At the bridal suite, only you and your Nekoma friends are in there. Alisa is doing your makeup while the boys are just chilling and talking at the couch. They’re giving unnecessary comments here and there about your wedding ceremony and reception. Like how you will trip while walking down the aisle, or how you will cry so hard during the wedding vow that you Kita won’t be able to understand. Your friends are crazy, but they’re the ones who stuck with you through thick and thin.
“Rice is back,” Lev mentions as he opens the door for the dog. Your pet sits next to your chair, looking up to you to present the gift in his mouth. You pat his head and take the bag from him. He then jumps on your lap to nap.
You open the bag excitedly and see a necklace designed like a leaf branch made of diamonds and white diamond. You stop yourself from crying, not wanting Alisa to start your makeup all over agin. You put it on and check yourself at the mirror. Then, you realize that there is also a small card that came along with the necklace.
You are my favorite plant. I will water you everyday with my love. I will make sure that you have enough sunlight through making you happy. I will take care of you until we’re old and withered.
Kuroo’s wife enters the suite, causing Kuroo to keep quiet. You eye your friend teasingingly so he rolls his eyes at you. His wife is your wedding planner and organization so she has come in the room to check up on you. She doesn’t even spare a glance at Kuroo.
“It’s time to put on your wedding dress,” she tells you as she carries out your dress from the wardrobe. It’s a simple dress, something you never thought you’d wear in your wedding.
Ever since you were little, your idea of your wedding was for it to be glamorous and extravagant since it’s the only kind of wedding you have been attending since you were little. You had always imagined wearing a big ball gown dress with all the Swarovski crystals in can hold. It is the opposite of your wedding that is about to take place.
You only have around 75 guests, consisting of your closest friends and family. The wedding will take place in a small garden so you can be surrounded with plants that Kita loves so much. Your dress? It’s a an a-line dress with a square neckline and low back. It’s made charmeuse fabric and that alone. No lace, no crystals, no anything. It’s a plain simple dress that you know Kita will love.
Everyone else would say that a woman’s wedding is her wedding day, but that’s not Kuroo’s wife, your wedding planner, told you. She said, and you will never forget.
“A wedding is not a woman’s or a man’s happiest day, it’s supposed to be a day where married couples look back on and then remember why they said, ‘I do.’ It’s a special day they share as a couple and not as individuals.”
So you throw all your imaginations and fantasies out of the window and thought of Kita, and him alone, while designing your dress. It’s both yours and Kita’s day. But you’re willing to take an extra mile to make him happy, to make him say, “I do” with all his heart.
You are in the bathroom suite with Kuroo’s wife since Alisa is too anxious to dress you up. The guys obviously can’t help you. You take your robe off and Kuroo’s wife helps you slip on to the dress, but she stops midway when she sees your slightly protruding stomach. She looks at you in shock and you just put a finger over your lips.
“It’s a surprise,” you tell her and she nods.
“Congratulations,” she says to you, and you grin widely.
Yes, you’re pregnant. After trying for a very long time, you’re finally carrying another Kita. In fact, you have been pregnant for two months but just found out a week ago. You wanted to tell Kita immediately but you thought that it’d be best to tell him during your wedding vow for that extra tear jerking scene.
Certainly, Kita will never forget your wedding day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------—
“We come now to the words Shinsuke and (Y/N) want to hear the most today. Before you say your vows to one another, I want to hear you confirm that it is indeed your intention to be married today,” your officiant starts so you and Kita face each other.
“Kita Shinsuke, do you come here freely and without reservation to give yourself to (L/N) (F/N) in marriage?”
“I do.”
“(L/N) (F/N), do you come here freely and without reservation to give yourself to Kita Shinsuke in marriage?
“I do.”
“Shinsuke and (Y/N), having heard that it is your intention to be married to each other, I now ask you to declare your marriage vows.”
Kita takes your hand in his and looks you straight in your eyes and you can see all the emotions from his orbs that his face isn’t revealing. He looks so calm yet his eyes are screaming that he’s excited and nervous at the same time.
“I see these vows not as promises but as privileges. I get to make you smile, hear you laugh. I can take care of you and share my everything with you. I get to wake up next to you every morning and sleep next to you every night. I get to witness at your every milestone and the breakdowns before that. I won’t promise that I will cherish you or honor you, because even without those promises, I will do it. Because being married to you is not a responsibility or a task; it’s a gift, a present. You don’t know how lucky I am to be able to call you my wife,” Kita starts and the guests are already sobbing and crying.
Atsumu is leaning on his twin brother’s shoulder, while the other twin is patting his back. Aran is crying as well, his handkerchief already wet from too much tears. But you don’t hear anything or anything except for the man who’s standing in front of you right now.
Kita takes a deep breath in before he continues, “I love you with my whole heart with a passion that can't be expressed in words, only in soft kisses, tight hugs, late night trips, stolen glances, and years of being by your side. You always tell me that I’m the best man in existence, but believe me when I say this, I am a better man because of you.”
You’re already crying at this point, his word piercing right through your heart, but you don’t feel the pain. It’s a feeling of mixed happiness and contentment that Kita has been giving you since the day you met him. But now it’s your turn to say your vows so you have to stop yourself from crying.
“Shinsuke...” you start and then cry again. You hear your friends’ laughters and giggles, so you chuckle in embarrassment. Kita gives your hand a slight squeeze so you take a deep breath in before attempting to say your vows again.
“When I first saw you, I knew I had to have you. A lot of people said that we’re not going to work out or that you’ll never like me back, but here we are now,” you laugh cockily, causing the guests to laugh as well. “Before I say anything that will make you cry, I just want to clarify that when I said, ‘I do,’ I didn’t mean the dishes. I promise with all my heart that I will continue to make our friends jealous of our astonishing relationship.”
“We get it! We’ll be single forever!” Yaku shouts so it’s laughter once again.
Kita is smiling at you lovingly even if you’re joking during your wedding vows. You clear your throat before starting to speak again, “You have made me the happiest woman in the world today by agreeing to share your life with me. I promise to respect you and honor you. I pledge to be your honest, faithful, and loving wife for the rest of my days. Shinsuke, you are my every dream come true, and I can't wait for the reality we get to build together.”
You want to say it. You want to tell him that you’re pregnant. The words are already at the tip of your tongue but it doesn’t seem to want to slip out. The officiant starts to speak again but you don’t hear him. Your thoughts are clouded with regrets on why you didn’t tell your husband about your pregnancy.
“Your wedding ring are the outward and visible sign of the inward and invisible bond which already unites you two hearts in love,” the officiant says and Rice comes running to the two of you with the wedding rings placed in a small bag.
Rice is your best man. He’s been there since day 1 of your relationship and have been your mediator ever since. He’s a dog that represents your love and he deserves to have that special spot on your wedding day.
Kita slips in your wedding ring as he says, “I give you this ring. Wear it with love and joy. As this ring has no end, my love is also forever.”
You take his hand this time and repeat his words. “I give you this ring. Wear it with love and joy. As this ring has no end, my love is also forever.”
“It is my honor and delight to declare you husband and wife. You may seal this declaration with a kiss,” the officiant declares so Kita takes your veil off to clearly reveal your face.
Your lips meet his. The kiss speaks a lot for the two of you since your lips are both sealed by each other’s. You can feel his promises from his lips and he can taste your sincerity from yours. It’s a kiss you’ll never forget.
The reception after the ceremony was a simple and short one yet also fun and memorable. The former Inarizaki Volleyball Team surprised you with a dance, a sexy one at that, and you blush just thinking about how hot your husband looked while dancing.
At the part where you had to throw the bouquet to the crowd, Kuroo’s wife caught it, so you and your friends were a laughing mess when that happened. Kuroo was so red even if he wasn’t the one who caught the bouquet.
It was perfect. Your wedding day was perfect. Everything went as planned except for your plan of telling him that you’re pregnant.
After the wedding reception, you head to your suite to finally rest and spend alone time with each other. Kita’s hands have never left your body ever since he got to hold it. His mouth would whisper sweet nothings in your ear. His eyes gazed at you every chance he got.
“I really love that dress on you,” Kita tells you as you are about to take off your wedding dress in front of the full body mirror in the room. He wraps his arms around you, his chin on your shoulder, his lips dangerously close to your neck.
“And I love that your hair is pushed back,” you reply, letting your hands fall on his forearms.
“Should I wear my hair like this everyday?” Kita asks and you shake your head immediately. “Why not?”
“I would die from too much handsomeness and hotness,” you answer without hesitance so he chuckles. “For real. You look amazing today. My heart may or may not have skipped a beat or two when you danced.”
“I could show you again,” he whispers into your ear seductively causing chills to run down your spine. “A special show only for you.”
“Baby,” you call him, changing the topic. He humms in response, his lips already attached to the skin of your exposed shoulder. “I have to tell you something important.”
“What is it?” He turns you around, then hugs you again. Tears start to roll down your cheeks so he gets worried. “Is something wrong?”
“No. Not all,” you tell him reassuringly but he doesn’t believe your words since you’re crying like a baby in front of him.
“Then why are you crying?” He wipes the tears on your cheeks with his thumb, worry visible in your eyes. It should be a happy day, why are you crying?
“I’m just glad that we finally had our married and that we will have an addition to our family,” you say subtly, hugging him tightly. Kita is frozen in his spot, did he understand your words right? Do you mean what he thinks you mean?
“What did you say?” He makes you repeat. You cup his cheeks and grin at him. You can see his tears at the brim of his eyes, and just one confirmation for you, the two of you will be crying in thankfulness and happiness the whole night.
“I’m pregnant.”

So this year, my parents have passed onto me the duties of the Halloween Party Planner. I’m taking my new title properly, and oh boy my guests aren’t prepared for what I have in store. Somehow the costume theme turned into “wear anything formal you haven’t had the chance to wear out in public” but y’know I’m all for it bc my god I have a lot that I haven’t worn.
Most of my wardrobe, namely.
I just have an appreciation of nice dresses and if they’re £5 in a charity shop, there’s no way in hell I’m passing that up.
However, my actual costume this year is the Woman in Black because I just like Victorian clothes.
