I'm back with more character designs for my Your Turn To Die: Purgatory Trials AU!
You can read about a sketch of a story and see previous characters I drew here (part1) and here (part 2)
About characters below cut
Reko Yabusame - Daring but Kind Guardian. A lot thinks of her as attractive and dangerous. You can often hear her humming some melody if you are close enough. She especially has a soft spot for younger participants. Even if her appearance is how it is, even if she looks unapproachable, she will most likely help you if you ask for help. In her design I wanted to incorporate the two ways she can die (and to conect her even more with Alice, as their wounds and attributes looks similar) and her wound on hand she got during one of the Attractions. I think she looks cool.
Nao Egokoro - You is my fav from those three designs. Her "corset" and "bracelets" are symbols of her death. As a Guardian, she is as artistic and chaotic as she is originally. Maybe they don't really have any paints and real canvases, but that won't stop her. She uses all the resources she can find and let her creativeness take control. But... what is that man that she often paints?
Alice Yabusame - I had the most problems with his design because of his clothing. And worship to strips. But I think he came out decent. As a Guardian, he is one of those who aren't trusted for a longer time, as everyone avoids him. May be it his appearance or his personality. He is someone that you have to get used to. He will help... sometimes. Usually in a tsundere way lol

One of the saddest things is giving up. And falling into despair.
When the hard stuff of life hits – whether it’s death or divorce, illness or addiction, betrayal or money problems. And you’ve been praying and waiting, hoping and believing for someone or something to make it all go away. Or at least be with you in it.
But often the hard stuff doesn’t go away. And if no one comes, it’s hard not to give up. It’s hard not to fall into despair.
I’ve talked with a lot of people who have given up. They’re good people. People who care, people who try. People who would help you in a heartbeat if they knew you were hurting.
For most of them, the reason they gave up wasn’t the hard stuff they were facing.
They gave up because they felt isolated. Like no one else knew or cared about what they were dealing with.
They gave up because they felt alone.
Which makes giving up even more tragic. Because none of us are ever alone.
Which is why today’s Feast of the Guardian Angels is so important. To remind us that before we were ever born, God gave each of us a guardian angel.
An angel to be with you, every step of the way. In good times and bad.
To support you, to strengthen you, no matter how hard life hits you.
Even if you don’t really believe in angels. Even if you’re not sure you have a guardian angel. You do. That’s how much God loves you.
No matter what you’ve done. Or how far you think you’ve run. Your angel is there. Now.
Watching over you. Ready to support you, to strengthen you, to be with you. All for the asking.
If you’ve never done it before. And even if you have. Take a moment today to follow the advice of St. Ambrose. “Pray to the angels, for they are given to us as guardians.”
Ask your angel to be with you. In whatever you’re dealing with.
And ask God for the grace to know in your heart – no matter what you’re going through, no matter how hard life hits you – that you are never alone.

Guardian Angel
Feast of Guardian Angels.
Feast day: October 2
The Feast of the Guardian Angels is a Catholic festival celebrated annually on October 2.  Paul V was the first Pope, in 1608, to authorize a feast day in honor of guardian angels. Pope Clement X changed the date to October 2 and Leo XIII, in 1883, upgraded the date to a double major feast.
According to Christian tradition, every one of us has a guardian angel who accompanies us from the moment we’re born until the moment of our death, and the mission of these angels is to protect us throughout our lives and guide us to heaven.
"Angels cannot act directly upon our will or intellect, so they can only guide us to heaven if we want to go there. They can act on our senses and imaginations, encouraging us to make the right choices and live as Jesus wants us to." -St. Thomas Aquinas

"For he hath given his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” — Psalm 90:11
The truth that each and every human soul has a Guardian Angel who protects us from both spiritual and physical evil has been shown throughout the Old Testament. It is also made very clear in the New.
It is written that the Lord Jesus was strengthened by an angel in the Garden of Gethsemane and that an angel delivered St. Peter from prison in the Acts of the Apostles.
But Jesus makes the existence and function of guardian angels explicit when he says:
"See that you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you, that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 18:10).
In saying this, Jesus points out that all people, even little children, have a guardian angel, and that the angels are always in Heaven, always looking at the face of God throughout their mission on earth, which is to guide and protect us throughout our pilgrimage to the house of our Father.
As St. Paul says, "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent to minister for them, who shall receive the inheritance of salvation?"  (Hebrews 1:14).
However, they guide us to Heaven only if we desire it.
St. Thomas Aquinas wrote that angels cannot act directly upon our will or intellect, although they can do so on our senses and imaginations – thus encouraging us to make the right decisions.
In Heaven, our guardian angels, though no longer needing to guide us to salvation, will continually enlighten us.
Prayer to the guardian angels is encouraged, and the habit of remembering their presence and support leads to frienship with them.
The prayer to the guardian angels has been present in the Church since at least the beginning of the 12th century:
Angel of God,
my Guardian dear,
to whom His love
commits me here,
ever this day
be at my side,
to light and guard,
to rule and guide.
Amen.
“Let us affectionately love His angels as counselors and defenders appointed by the Father and placed over us.
They are faithful; they are prudent; they are powerful; Let us only follow them, let us remain close to them, and in the protection of the God of heaven let us abide.”
— St. Bernard of Clairvaux

flying saucers have been following me like guardian angels searching for my flight-risk soul when I was in the fourth grade I believed I was an alien that I could become more secretly special in a way that called the rain leveled buildings I thought I could understand maybe I could reach some kind of infinity I looked up to the sky and thought I could belong somewhere out there I still look up afraid of flying outwards from this life to the next I always felt special like I had guardian angels watching me like vultures

Hi! Your blog is a very cosy place, I really like it! It feels like light and tastes like cotton candy.
I have a question. Do you know any tips for contacting your personal guardian angel? Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance!
I'm so flattered for you to describe my blog like that, thank you so much. It really made my day
So sorry to keep you waiting, as I've been away from the blog for a while 👼
I don't have exact tips for contacting your personal guardian angel as I don't actually work with my personal one! I acknowledge that they are watching over me and trust their work, though.
I do want to offer something! So here's this:
CONNECTING WITH YOUR PERSONAL GUARDIAN ANGEL
🌟 Express your gratitude for their presence (in the same vein as acknowledging their part in your life). Recognising the angels in your life can help them connect with you and show more prominence in your life. They wait for our invitation as we have free will!
🌟 If you want to do a little something for them, light a candle and dedicate it to your personal guardian angel. It can be a tealight or something bigger. You could always get a large candle and light it at a frequency that works for you (nightly, weekly, monthly).
🌟 Expanding on the previous idea, you could make a bit of a ritual out of it. Light a candle, dedicate some incense, and say a prayer to thank them for watching over you.
🌟 Research about guardian angels! It tends to be a great devotional act or a way to connect with the angels. There are different interpretations of what guardian angels are in our lives. For example, some believe each has their own name. I consider this very likely though don't endeavour to try and figure it out
🌟 Decorate your space with angelic imagery or objects. This is a general tip for letting angels know your space is safe for them and that you would like them in your space and life
Please feel free to submit another ask if you want me to elaborate or if you have anymore questions!

Hell yeah people it’s time for the
Guardian Angel AU
So this is a NaeIshiMondo AU (tbh when is it not?) which means that Makoto is the main character here.
Makoto is your average Naegi. Makoto Naegi-ing all over the place. This includes his crazy good luck. However, at some point he does a stupid idiot thing and hits his head really hard. He wakes up to the sound of unfamiliar voices.
“You we’re supposed to be watching him while I watched our surroundings!”
“I looked away for two seconds, Taka, gimme a damn break!”
Makoto opens his eyes and sees two people with wings standing above him. Obviously he freaks the fuck out because why are there winged people in his house all of a sudden?? Meanwhile, Taka and Mondo just freeze up cause why is their mortal yelling at them like he can see them??
Eventually Makoto calms down enough that Taka can explain that he and Mondo are his guardian angels. (I’ll mention here that Taka’s wings are a white and red ombre, and Mondo’s are black with rich purple inner feathers).
According to Taka, Makoto’s luck was so bad that his previous guardian angel quit out of stress. Taka had just died and was completely scandalized at the idea of spending eternity doing nothing, so he decided to take on the challenge.
Mondo died shortly afterwards, and decided to become a guardian angel because he was bored and it gave him an excuse to fight something. The gods were like “Okay we’ll assign you to this freak down on Earth who’s really bad at being alive. You can help out Ishimaru.”
So anyway rivals to lovers ishimondo happens, and now we’re here. Makoto listens to this and is like. “… Okay… I’m gonna go to bed… Just do… whatever you do when I can’t see you…” and passes the fuck out.
Taka and Mondo are like “Okay! :D” and then the second Makoto falls asleep they’re like “The mortal we’ve been pining after for years can talk to us now oh my god we’re gonna die a second time.”
Time passes and Makoto grows closer to the both of them. Fluff ensues. They fall in love. All that pizazz.
At some point the gods are like “oh shit he can see them he can’t do that” and start targeting Makoto. Taka and Mondo obviously protect him, cause the heavens can’t get mad at them for doing their jobs, and cool action scenes are mixed in with the sweet romance.
Boom. NaeIshiMondo fic. You’re welcome.

I just had an impuls of drawing Sara and Shin with wings and it became an AU. Everything began with one "what if"! And then it became this. Your Turn To Die: Purgatory Trials.
In the world between life and death is a Purgatory. A place where people have a chance to go back to live, to their homes and loved ones. But if they can't do that, their existence will stay only in the hearts of living. As everyone suddenly appear in an unfamiliar place, they find themselves with two easy choices. Play Games to Live or Die.
And there are these things. They call themselves Guardians of Purgatory. They looked like fallen angels, with no way to say for sure if they were there to really guard them. Will they be of any help or everyone's destined to perish?
Second part here and third part here
Below, you can read my "little" ranting about characters! (There may be spoilers if you didn't finish the game)
Guardians may or may not be bad. Even if they don't have evil intentions, their own existence makes others nervous and uncomfortable. Their appearance is too grand and too vague to feel secure in most cases. They feel godly-like and omnipotent. Their faces blank, without expression. And even if they can't do anything serious, they can't hurt anyone with their hands... How could you trust someone in a place like this?
I will write their normal names as I have no idea how to name them differently and what they could represent (like "Laughing Doll" or "Crying Doll"). I really wanted everyone to have clothes and elements resembling their oryginal selves. To give them things that symbolize them.
Sara Chidouin - She is our main protagonist in YTTD, but here she is one of the Guardians. Her voice is strong but gentle. Her movements are with purpose. She will most likely try to help children or people who aren't doing well. Sara isn't innocent. We know that in simulations, she could be ruthless. I don't say that she is evil and a demon with angels face. Everyone except Shin sees her as a good person that they could trust. I wanted her to look so open, so graceful and kind, but at the same time, I gave her horns covering her face and dark wings. Not because I think she is more on a bad side, but to highlight how she is. Kind and wanting everyone to live and escape, but being able to wreak havoc if she felt like she needed it. In the end, she could have any personality a player chose for her. I think I did her a justice with her design.
Gin Ibushi - He, honestly, gave me trouble with the design. Especially with clothes. I knew I wanted him to have a mask and wanted him to be warm. Warm in colors, expression, pose. Warm with attitude to others. He, as a Guardian, is the most liked one. Almost nobody can hate him. He likes to play and usually helps others in a trade for playing with him. He never would do anything bad to anyone, but because he seems as the most naive and weak one of fallen angels, there are people that want to hurt him to try leave any other way than win the Games. Gin would never hurt someone back, but fortunately (or unfortunatelyto those that did the unforgivable), other Guardians aren't that good to not get rid of the offender.
Shin Tsukimi - He and Sara were my first "Angels" to sketch. He is also a little villainous in the game, but he still is one of my favorites. I can understand him, even if I think he could do things differently. His whole persona in this AU may be a little biased by me and my vision about him. Especially that this is an AU. He, as the Guardian, isn't trusted by others that much at first. He doesn't really go all his way to help others and sometimes ignores those who need his assistance. He usually can be seen near Kanna and then is more likely to say something useful. He can help, too, if he thinks someone can give or tell him something he needs. Why would he need anything? Doesn't he know and have everything? And why does he have this key?
He also has the wound on his chest as a connection to someone... that you will see in next character chart xD and kinda to his death in ch2.
I still am figuring this AU and have another 3 "Angels" in making. But for now, have this thee!
