Art.com x International Artist Day Giveaway 2023 Terms and Conditions

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The Art.com International Artist Day Giveaway (“Sweepstakes”) begins at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) on October 25th, 2023 and ends at 11:59PM EST October 29th, 2023 (the “Entry Period”).

1. HOW TO ENTER:

(A) via Instagram. To enter during the Entry Period (October 25th, 2023 - October 29th, 2023), each entrant must (i) follow @artdotcom on Instagram, (ii) tag a friend on the Sweepstakes Post. If you do not have an Instagram account, you may access and download the Instagram application for free on your mobile device through your device’s app store. You are responsible for all software, hardware and costs associated with your access to and downloading of the Instagram app.

(B) via E-mail. Send an e-mail to [email protected] with the subject line: “ADC x International Artist Day Giveaway,” and ensure to include your name, age, and location in the email.

All entries must be completed during the Entry Period for an entrant to receive an entry in the Sweepstakes. Multiple entries are permitted per person. Incomplete entries are void. All entries become the property of Art.com and will not be acknowledged or returned. The Sweepstakes is sponsored by Art.com (“Art.com” and “Sponsor”). Art.com assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, illegible or mutilated entries or for any access to or inability to access any computer, online, telephone, cable, network, electronic or Internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, availability, garbled or jumbled transmissions, service provider, Internet, web site, or other accessibility or availability issues, traffic congestion, or unauthorized human intervention, or any technical malfunctions that may occur. Entrants shall be considered the authorized account holder of the Instagram account or e-mail address through which the entry is made. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned the Instagram Account by Instagram or e-mail address by the entrant’s internet service provider or e-mail host provider.

2. ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 48 states and the District of Columbia in the contiguous U.S. (excluding residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Marianas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and other U.S. Territories) who are 18 years of age or older as of the start of the Entry Period. Employees of Art.com, their subsidiaries, affiliates and prize suppliers, and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children, siblings and their spouses) and individuals living in the same household as such employees are ineligible. This Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the United States and is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Marianas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and all other U.S. Territories, and where prohibited by law. 3. DRAWING: Upon the end of the Entry Period, one eligible entrant will be chosen at random from among all eligible entries received during the Entry Period and in compliance with these Official Rules and notified by Scout Digital on behalf of Sponsor by email or via Instagram comment and Instagram Direct Message by 11:59PM ET on October 30th, 2023. Selected winners will have 48 hours to respond to Scout Digital’s notification in order to claim their prize or it will be forfeited and a new winner will be selected at random. All Instagram entrants must set their Instagram account as “public” so as to be capable of receiving the aforementioned and other messages from Sponsor and Scout Digital. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to set accounts on public and neither Scout Digital nor Sponsor shall be responsible for their inability to reach any potential winner.

By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. All prizes will be awarded unless one or more potential winners do not respond to Sponsor’s attempt to reach them. Limit one prize per person, family or household.

4. PRIZES: There will be 1 winner selected. One winners and their friend will receive one prize package that includes the following: one print from the website of their choice

Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion. Art.com reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event an offered prize is unavailable. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted except as provided herein.

5. GENERAL CONDITIONS: All federal, state, and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prize packages are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. Prize winners may be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability/Prize Acceptance Form within seven (7) days following winner notification. Return of any prize and/or prize notification as undeliverable or failure of any entrant to comply with any Official Rules will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

Winners grant Art.com the right to use and publish their legal name and state of residence online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Sweepstakes. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Art.com and its advertising and promotional agencies to use winners’ names and likenesses for editorials, advertising and promotional purposes in any media now known or hereafter developed without payment of additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Art.com and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, claim, action, demand or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Sweepstakes or any prize won, any misuse or malfunction of any prize awarded, participation in any Sweepstakes related activity, or participation in the Sweepstakes.

As a condition of participating in this Sweepstakes, participant agrees that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between and the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively, before a court of competent jurisdiction located in New York County, NY, which court shall apply the laws of the state of New York without regard for rules of conflicts of law. In any such dispute, participant shall, under no circumstances, be entitled to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys’ fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (if any) associated with participating in the Sweepstakes, and participant hereby waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

The rain patters softly against the window as Yasmina stares outside longingly, leaning her hands on the windowsill. The Northtown Mall parking garages and the Gesa office tower a bit farther off are barely visible through the fog.

Usually she likes the rain, but after two weeks of it, it has become depressing and gloomy for her. Cloudy skies have clouded her mind, leading to dangerous thoughts she didn't have the strength to tell Sammy about.

She barely registers the sound of the shower turning off. Yasmina stares out the window, thinking of the things she could be doing now if it were sunny instead.

Biking. Swimming. Running, probably. The injury is healed enough, she just needs to be more careful to keep her ankle straight.

There are other things she and Sammy could do in rainy weather. Bowling. Sunday-driving. Riding city busses. Of course, driving with nowhere to go is a waste of gas, and the other activities require money, a scarcity for both of them.

Sammy had suggested riding Lime scooters all day, which would be fun, if not for the rip-off prices, and of course, the rain.

The steam from the shower fills the bedroom as Sammy walks in wrapped in a towel. "Hi, baby," she coos, pecking her cheek. The peck warms Yasmina's heart a bit, her cheeks turning a rosy shade, and Yasmina smiles.

Turning around, Yasmina hugs Sammy before she can unwrap the towel, feeling the warmth on her chilled skin. Sniffing deeply, Yasmina grins. "You smell really good!"

Sammy's lips curl into a soft smile. "Thanks Yaz."

Yasmina releases Sammy after a while, allowing the Texan to get dressed in her "lazy clothes", really just sweat pants and a loose blouse with bleach spots. Yasmina sighs, turning back to the window.

"I want the Sun," Yasmina whimpers.

Sammy looks over at the athletic woman, a sorrowful expression playing on her face. "I know Yaz. I'm sorry."

"It's okay."

"I don't know what else we can do today, I mean, I can apply for a loan or something if you wanna go do something, or …" Sammy tries to come up with other activities they could do with the loan, but Yasmina stops her.

"We don't need a loan, it's fine. I'll be — I'll be … fine." As Yasmina finishes, a lone tear rolls down her face.

Sammy sits down on the bed, patting the spot next to her softly. Yasmina takes a seat beside the Texan.

"I can tell this is just a … depressive episode, one caused by nothing but exacerbated by uncontrollable events. I want to help you, I just …"

Yasmina cast her eyes down to the floor. Her anxiety and depression is hurting Sammy.

It isn't fair to Sammy that I feel like this, she curses herself.

"I'm sorry," Yasmina croaks, closing her eyes in shame as more tears fall.

Sammy's heart jumps. No matter how many times Yasmina tries to make it her fault, Sammy has run out of ways to tell her it isn't, because she knows Yasmina would never believe her.

Sammy lets out a slow breath. "How about … we play a game on our phones? Do you still have Call of Duty Mobile?"

Yasmina looks up at her, almost confused, but she seems more alert this time.

"If we can't go outside, maybe we can do a 10v10 match?" Sammy suggests hopefully.

The sadness drains from Yasmina's face instantly, and she gasps happily, nodding excitedly.

"Let's do that," Sammy says.

"Okay."

Yasmina leans over to peck Sammy's lips. Sammy giggles through the kiss, wrapping an arm around Yasmina. "You have such a good heart, Yaz."

Yasmina giggles in embarrassment, grateful nonetheless for the encouragement. As Yasmina taps the icon for Call of Duty Mobile, she quips, "I try my best."

Sammy sees the app open on Yasmina's phone. "Oooo, are we about to dominate a whole lobby again?"

"Hell yeah, lez goooo!" Yasmina cheers, flipping onto her back and holding her phone above her face with both arms.

"That's your favorite position isn't it?" Sammy asks. "For COD Mobile?"

"Mm-hm," Yasmina answers, waiting for the game to load.

Sammy had lost her old phone on Guam during the typhoon. Her replacement is much faster and more powerful, so it easily loads through all the menus by the time Yasmina's gets through one loading bar.

"Show-off," Yasmina grumbles playfully.

Sammy gazes lovingly at her wife, grateful her mood has improved so fast.

Sammy drapes herself across Yasmina's torso, earning an "oof" from the athlete. With her phone on the floor and her head and arms hanging off the bed, Sammy says, "This isn't hurting you, is it?"

"Nope!" Yasmina chirps. "I told you, the weight across my body helps me feel safe. Just not that fast next time."

"Oops," Sammy apologizes. "I just don't want to hurt you, I'd feel so bad."

"You could never hurt me, Sammy."

Sammy smiles gratefully, suppressing her own urge to tear up.

Verizon makes it very easy to unlock your phone. In fact, as of summer 2019 it automatically unlocks its customer’s devices after 60 days as long as certain criteria is met. There are a few things you should know need to do first. Before unlocking, ensure the following is in order.

Okay, so this one is pretty much a non-starter. As long as you adhere to the aforementioned details, you should have no problem with getting your device unlocked. But, if you have any issues, reach out to Verizon for help.

In the event you have a phone that was purchased prior to July 2019, it may already be unlocked. Simply put in a SIM card from a different carrier and you’ll know whether it is. If not, give Verizon a ring and you’ll be just fine.

MANILA – Convenience experienced by consumers on their financial transactions during the pandemic is expected to further boost electronic commerce (e-commerce) post-pandemic.

Dan Wolbert, Visa country manager for the Philippines and Guam, sees e-commerce in the country to “continue to thrive” even after the pandemic.

“We believe that as more people start using digital commerce and platforms, they will embrace the benefits of shopping online, which will lead to the continued growth of e-commerce,” he said in a briefing Thursday.

Wolbert also expects more businesses to operate on digital platforms as more people turn to online shopping for their needs.

“We continue to see more SMEs (small and medium enterprises) going digital,” he added.

Discussing the results of Visa’s 2020 Consumer Payment Attitudes study, an annual online survey being conducted in several Asian countries, Wolbert said results for the Philippines showed that 52 percent of the about 1,014 Filipinos surveyed nationwide said they shopped online for the first time during the pandemic through mobile apps and websites.

Also, about 43 percent of the respondents said they made their initial online purchase through social media channels.

The bulk of these initial online financial transactions involve food and groceries, bills payments, and pharmaceutical purchases, with one in four Visa cardholders posting his first e-commerce transaction in the first half of 2020.

Mirroring the results of the central bank findings of decreased cash usage during the pandemic, Visa’s Consumer Payments Attitude study showed that 53 percent of the respondents carry cash in their wallets, a drop from around 70 percent level pre-pandemic.

Asked for the reasons for lesser usage of cash for their purchases, the respondents said these e-payments lessen the spread of infection, are more convenient, provide consumers with a financial record, and lower the risk of theft.

In terms of financial transactions that consumers consider can be made completely digital, the respondents cited bills payment, grocery shopping, and overseas travel.

Wolbert said Visa data shows a steady month-on-month rise of contactless transactions in the Philippines since August 2020.

“Even though we’ve made progress in digital payments adoption, there remain huge opportunities for us to encourage more Filipinos to embrace digital payments as we look to expand digital payments acceptance across the country,” he added. (PNA)
