Fourth page, script for a scene with Stefán Karl's character:
Snjólfur is dreaming, this can be shown in many ways, e.g. by using strange music, Smoke machines, light effects, etc.) Konni enters the stage, dressed in a costume that does not look contemporary, but is rather ridiculous, he also carries a sword.)
Konni: I'm a Martian. I've come here to earth, to kidnap a female specimen. Fill it with Mars chocolate bars, so that it's a Mars womb and throws us. We've been planning this for thousands of centuries. I've been hanging out with hundreds of schools for hundreds of years to find the right copy.
I've had absolutely enough of all the studying, I'm full, full of the same-same schoolmates, all taught by hopeless teachers, who say-say, the same-same thing to a person over and over again. Finally-finally, finally, I've found the right copy. Anít-ha or Aníp-ha, is the right female being for us. She has eaten a healthy amount of Mars bars, so with that she is ready.
(Konni begins to act like the angriest witch with accompanying movements and gestures, and recites the following text.)
Konni:
March, March, not in April, Not in May, in March, on Mars, and around Mars. I march here, I march there, I get Mars, everywhere, Mars in Mars, Polka Mars, All in Mars. Anít-ha, Aníp-ha, March here, March there, March here and everywhere.
(While Konni the Martian carries on this spell, Aníta comes to him slowly, even though she is asleep, or under hypnosis. She is dressed in clothes that are ridiculous, example, a dress from circa 17 to 18 hundred.)
(Konni snaps his fingers, slaps his hands etc. at Aníta to wake her up from her coma, she is startled and taken aback.)
Aníta: What do you want from me? Konni: Hi, I'm a Martian. Aníta: (laughs) So, are you Bobbi? Konni: No, Aníp-ha, my name is Mars - Mars. (Cut off)
Fifth page, the last page:
"This is all nonsense, Snjólfur."
AUTHOR: GUÐJÓN SIGVALDASON
The play was created from improvisation with the Youth Department of Leikfélag Hafnarfjörður, October to November 1988. The show was premiered on 27th of November 1988.

AOTW Wk 10: Ragnar Kjartansson
About the Artist:
Ragnar Kjartansson was born in 1976 in Reykjavík, Iceland and this is where he still lives today. His mother is named Guðrún Ásmundsdóttir and she is a well-known actress in Iceland and his father is Kjartan Ragnarsson a director and playwright. Due to both his parent’s professions, Ragnar was exposed to theater from a young age. He was in and out of bands growing up, most notably as former member of the Icelandic band Trabant. He began with visual art, and attended the Royal Academy in Stockholm, Sweden in 2000. He also attended the Icelandic Academy of the Arts, painting department.
Formal Analysis:
Ragnar Kjartansson engages his artistic vide though multiple artistic mediums in his performative practice. Kjartansson pieces are characterized by the play between contradicting feelings; sorrow and happiness, horror and beauty, drama and humor. He uses humor as a tool to disarm the audience, and allow them to approach more serious topics of discussion. It is explained that he used this Repetition as a “reoccurring trait in his works, stemming from both a background in theater and in religion”. It further explained that the repetition from theater comes from rehearsals... “and religion as a repetition to bring one closer to a greater path.”
Content Analysis:
‘The Visitors’ was a 2012 installation and video art piece by Ragnar Kjartansson. Kjartansson named the piece for The Visitors which was the final album by the Swedish pop band ABBA. The Visitors constitutes the performance of a song written by Ásdís Sif Gunnarsdóttir, Kjartansson's ex-wife. This art piece is displayed across nine different screens and each of the screens features musicians or artists either by themselves or in groups in different rooms of a house, or outside, performing simultaneously but separately. The piece has been positively reviewed, with critics highlighting Kjartansson's focus on repetition, a recurring theme in his performances.
My Experience:
When I first saw Ragnar Kjartansson’s work, I defiantly saw that there was repetition and contrasting emotions in all his works. He follows his own path and inspiration when he creates his works of art and performance pieces. What I have learned this pass few weeks is that performance art like Ragnar Kjartansson’s art is something that allows me and anyone that is viewing it to emotionally feel the piece of rather than just stand back and awe the piece that hangs on the wall. I also enjoyed looking at Ragnar Kjartansson art work because it has many artistic qualities and it not political feel or voice behind it like many of the previous artist I have studied. I really respect his work and all his contributions that he has made to performance art and I can’t wait to see what he creates next.

PEOPLE IN ICELAND have lived off fishing for many centuries, and in the past decade aluminum production has carved out almost an equal stake in the economy. But both have recently been outpaced by tourism. Two million tourists are expected to have poured into the island nation in 2016 – more than four times the country’s population – says Guðrún Þóra Gunnarsdóttir, director of the Icelandic Tourism Research Centre. That’s the result of dizzying, double-digit growth in annual tourist v
