Sterling and Rowan had met through Sloane and they hit it off pretty well. They vibed well together and Sterling did enjoy the times they'd spent together, so she wanted to get to know her better and hang out more. It was that reason that Sterling decided to invite her to go shopping with her in town and maybe even at the mall a little ways outside of Aurora Bay, and she was happy to hear that she'd accepted the invitation. When Rowan arrived at Sterling's home on Aurora Bay Drive, she met her outside and gave her a side hug (knowing there was the slightly swell of a baby bump there and she wasn't ready for that conversation). "Hi!"

Josh's School Return {OPEN!}

It doesn't look any different was the first thought to cross Josh's mind as he walked (in the pouring rain) up path to his old home. He'd hated first coming here, ostracised from his parents, his friends, alone and scared with golden skin that disgusted him. Well, at least now he could look in the mirror.

The young man's complexion was a beautiful gold with small patches of black seeming to move and shift of their own accord, though only a little of his face and hands could be seen. His hair (so blonde it was almost white) was now shoulder length and mostly covered by a ratty old beanie- in fact, all his clothes seemed old, though certainly cared for.

With a sigh, he squelched his way into the main entrance hall of the school, ignoring the looks of now unfamiliar students, plonked himself down on a bench and waited to be noticed; living with monks was a fantastic way to build patience.

I’m not going to specify who, and I’m going to refrain from passing judgment on what’s appropriate. I’m just saying it intrigued me:

this eleven-year-old was told to greet an aunty, and the kid thought the aunty was rude for asking for a greeting. On any other occasion I’d have gone, okay. interesting. and moved on. but you see,

being freed from ELL exams allows me to read more random things. more random things includes The Culture of Singapore English (Jock O. Wong). which happens to include a section on calling people. which presents the act of calling people as very, very important.

so yes. taken together (along with life experiences and such), intriguing.

Hartley remembered him - hard to forget that shade of pink. Not that they'd ever met - they shared just enough of the same suppliers whenever she was in Korea to have glimpsed the pink haired man, but a solid sense of self-preservation has kept her from asking about him, or what he did for work. Lord knows she doesn't need the questions coming back at her.

But tonight -- maybe there's something in the air. She sidles up next to him, a very obviously coy smile on her lips, and decides to open with something innocuous.

[Like for a (short) starter, I feel like shit so probably won't get too up to writing and as it is I have like 5 threads on Discord, one with Scarecrow, that I'm consciously ignoring because I have no muse.

I don't care enough to reblog this to my other RP blogs, but do specify if you want me to respond as Jon, Floyd [ @scxttershot ], or Basil [@oncegreatness ]. Floyd's blog is still a major WIP and my activity level on it will vary, but I've got a baseline for him down and, well, I've been writing Clayface for 4 years.]
