These Greek hand pies are a delicious and convenient way to enjoy savory beef filling wrapped in flaky phyllo dough. The combination of ground beef, spinach, and feta cheese creates a flavorful and satisfying dish perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1 onion, finely chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon dried oregano. 1 teaspoon dried basil. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 cup chopped spinach. 1 cup crumbled feta cheese. 1 package frozen phyllo dough, thawed. 1/2 cup melted butter.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375F 190C. In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is translucent. Stir in oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Add spinach and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and stir in feta cheese. Unroll phyllo dough and cut into squares. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture onto each square. Fold squares into triangles, sealing edges with melted butter. Place pies on a baking sheet and brush the tops with remaining melted butter. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Serve warm and enjoy!
