Why does everything have to be so hard sometimes? I called and after being disconnected four times, finally got someone and found out there were no trucks (read: drivers) available. Cool, whatever. Just let me know when it's actually going to ship so I can be ready. I was rescheduled for Thursday (yesterday). My dad was going to have to wait around for the inspector anyway so that was fine. I kept my phone with me with the ringer on at work because delivery to my house almost always comes with some issue (half mile+ up a gravel road that looks like a dead end). They kept extending my delivery time. Then stopped updating, but I could see the truck was now in Eugene (60 miles south). I called. Ten times. And got disconnected every fucking time. I called the shipping company. "Your order is scheduled to be delivered between 11am and 3pm." Yeah, I know. But it's 6pm and your tracker still says "approximately 3:46pm" and the truck is now in fucking Springfield. So..... I call bullshit. After 30 minutes on hold I gave up because I really wanted dinner. I FINALLY got through to IKEA this morning. Apparently, the driver didn't think there was a turnaround (fair, we're pretty much the only people on the ridge that have one) and moved on without updating the order status. When I told IKEA that I hadn't received a call or an email or so much as a text, she totally went all in and apparently there's no record that I was ever contacted. So yeah, I was right in calling bullshit. But my order is still on the truck. Which will now be returning tomorrow. With excessive notes on the order about "she says there is a turn around" and "you have the number, call her with any questions" and "you've fucked her over at least twice now, don't fuck up now."

TLDR: I apparently get my new furniture tomorrow. And if it doesn't come as scheduled, I will be given "accommodations." Because people are stupid.

Both the people I talked to at IKEA (I had to be bumped up to Tier Two) actually thanked me for not yelling at them. I was mostly like, um, you're welcome? I'm really not sure I should be thanked for treating you like people. It's not your fault that I'm frustrated and annoyed. It MIGHT be your fault that I keep getting disconnected and hung-up on when I call in, but that's why I'm telling you that something is wring with the system. So it can be fixed. Don't be shitty to customer service; it's not going to go better for you.
