How do we feel about a Davron sugar baby au?
Davos is the cfo of his uncles business, he’s the youngest to ever reach that status. Aeron is a struggling up and coming model, he was disowned by Amos when Aeron graduated college with a business degree but decided to try modeling instead. Amos equates modeling with selling your body and soul to the devil and no nephew of his will do that.
Aeron has bills to pay so of course he takes any job that he can, which eventually leads him to work with a photographer who makes him the star of his new series. It’s also how Davos meets Aeron, Davos knows the photographer personally and is in need of some new art. Davos doesn’t buy any of Aerons photos though he sticks with the original plan of buying the landscapes he needed for his home and his uncles business. But he does end up asking his photographer friend who the model is in his portrait series, the photographer tells him the models name is Aeron and he’s actually here tonight if he wants to meet him?
Davos agrees thinking nothing will come of it, Aeron will just be another air headed model. So imagine his surprise when he meets Aeron and Aeron is able to hold his own in conversations, especially about business. Davos is partially in love at that point, he also wants to support Aeron at least give him enough money to cover his bills so he can focus on getting higher paying jobs. He also offers to help Aeron meet with some advertising executives who are looking for models that are just as beautiful as Aeron is.
Aeron is reluctant at first, he doesn’t want to be beholden to anyone for anything and he wants to prove his uncle wrong. Davos says he understands and if he ever changes his mind here’s his number, he’ll help no matter what and he doesn’t expect anything from Aeron.
After a particularly bad shoot with a creepy photographer who kept pushing Aeron to pose nude after repeatedly being told no, he calls Davos on the verge of tears. Yeah it’s late at night but Davos is immediately out of bed telling Aeron to go to a 24 hour diner, that’s close to the studio, he’ll be there in about 20 minutes and once he knows Aeron is safe he’ll kick the photographers ass. Aeron goes to the diner while staying on the phone, to reassure both of them that he’s safe and if something did happen to Aeron Davos will know who to go after.
Davos said he’d be there in 20 minutes which is what Aeron says when Davos is at the diner in 10 minutes. Davos is ready to kill the photographer and Aeron barely manages to convince him not to. Davos says fine but from now on Aeron will accept money from Davos, he won’t/can’t have a repeat of the sleazy photographer. Aeron reluctantly agrees, he also agrees to meet with Davos’s advertising executive friends.
Aeron says that his only condition to being Davos’ sugar baby is that once he’s a famous model he gets to pay Davos back. Davos tells him there’s no need but Aeron insists. It only takes a couple of months of Aeron being Davos’s sugar baby for him to find success, Aeron pays Davos back just like he said he would, and Davos is scared of losing Aeron so he asks Aeron to move in with him. Aeron says he’ll only move in with him if they’re dating, Davos accepts that condition.
And that’s how Aeron went from being a sugar baby to a top paid model, husband and how he also proved his uncle wrong just like he knew he would.

The Artist Books of Clarissa Sligh
In honor of Black History Month, we are highlighting artist, writer, and lecturer Clarissa Sligh. Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Virginia, Sligh is often inspired by cultural, historical, and political events that intersect with moments in her life. Sligh considers these interactions, or “collisions,” between moments in history and events in one’s life to be significant and transformative. One such example of this is detailed in Sligh’s work “It Wasn’t Little Rock,” which discusses desegregation in public schools during the 1960s, a personal topic for Sligh, who was the lead plaintiff at the age of 15 in a school desegregation case.
Images: Cover and inside page of "It Wasn't Little Rock" (2005)
A notable example of Sligh’s work and its reference to her personal experiences is her 1988 artist's book titled “What’s Happening with Momma?” Here, the artist engages users to “walk” through rooms of her childhood home, following the steps of accordion-folded strips of paper filled with text detailing memories of her sister’s birth in the home. This is Sligh’s first artist’s book, made through the Women’s Studio Workshop in New York.

Sligh earned a BS in Mathematics from Hampton Institute in Virginia, a BFA and an MFA in visual arts from Howard University, and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. Earlier in her career she had worked at NASA in the manned space flight program, eventually leaving to focus on working as an artist. Her works have been featured all over the world, notably at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and more. To learn more about Sligh and her works, visit the artist’s website.

Want to do cosplay photoshoots but don't know how to find that perfect place to shoot? This tutorial covers how to brainstorm a location for your shoot, logistical and cost concerns with shoot locations, and how to actually find your dream location.
📸This tutorial can be applied to shoots of all types, including but not limited to self shoots, shoots with friends, and shoots with hired photographers. Self shooting or shooting with friends only requires a camera (a phone works!) and possibly a tripod.
Part 2: Finding Locations
Now that you have a shoot concept in mind, it's time to find the location itself. If you don't already have a location in mind, you will need to do some searching to find one.
The Detective Work
Whether you have a type of location in mind or not, you can poke around online to find the ideal place. If you have a type of location in mind, Google Maps or similar can help you find locations if you search for your location type, such as "beach." If you don't have a location type in mind, you can look around at websites like Atlas Obscura or at your local parks district websites. If looking to rent a location or use an indoor location, Peerspace is a site where you can rent photography studios and event spaces, often with equipment of their own for you to borrow, and you can usually shoot in hotel rooms or Airbnbs if that suits your character. If you are out of ideas, look around at what other people in your area use. Other cosplayers are a great resource, but I also recommend looking for engagement photos or graduation photos in your area for ideas on where non-cosplay photographers shoot. Finally, there's a tool called Cos-Map that contains user-submitted locations and detailed discovery tools; it doesn't have a lot of use yet because it is still in beta, so if you have locations to submit, please do so and help other cosplayers!
Cos-Map link: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/556b7aba7e984c94b7054c405d640635/
Brainstorming
When brainstorming your location types, think of all aspects of the character, series, and your shoot goals and try to match these aspects to real-life locations. I've also worked backwards a few times and chosen one character over another on my list of possible cosplays because I had a shoot location already in mind! Knowing who the character is, what genre of series and shoot you want, and where the series takes place can help you to find somewhere that your character looks good in.
I also have here a list of location types that you may find helpful, and hopefully it includes types of locations you hadn't thought of. This isn't exhaustive, and not all these location types exist in all areas, but this is to give you a jumping off point for thinking of your cosplay shoot locations. Locations like studio shoots, a beach, or a forest may seem obvious, but also look at places like local tourist attractions, areas with graffiti on the walls, and keep an eye out for any selfie museums in your area or touring pop-up museums for unique cosplay shoot locations.
As always, check the rules of anywhere you shoot, and be sure to get permission to shoot there. Part 4 covers this process in more depth.
Getting Creative
If you really can't find a location that suits your character, get creative! You can do anything from a printed backdrop or solid color drape shoot in your own home to a shoot against a cool-looking wall. Often, tighter framing works best with this type of shoot, as you only want to showcase the area directly around you and not the full area that may not be suitable. A wall or some hedges work well for medium shot distance portraits, and some ground or a piece of furniture work well for reclining shots. You may only be able to get a few photos with this type of background, depending on what the background and cosplay are, but if you want to show off a costume now and get a different type of photoshoot later, you can.

Hell, I suppose if you stick around long enough they have to say something nice about you.
- Ava Gardner, Ava: My Story
Ava Gardner was a hard-drinking, wisecracking, libidinous vamp, a liberated woman before it was even invented.
It's an extraordinary life of an extraordinary woman. She swore like a drunken sailor, slept with anything that moved, drove Frank Sinatra to such heights of passion and torment that he attempted suicide, and entirely failed to care what anybody thought of her.
Ava Gardner was an actress who starred in some good films and some not very good films; but more than that she was the great iconic beauty of her day. She wafted around the screen and was featured on the front covers of magazines looking untouchable in pearls and mink. And yet she behaved like a man or, at least, like a certain kind of man - one with pots of cash, a taste for hard liquor and a higher-than-average libido.
She was, in essence, a liberated woman, a good two decades before women's liberation was invented. Her success and status made it possible for her to make the kind of choices - and mistakes - that other women couldn't. And, even now, there's really nobody who can match her combination of carnality, glamour and a potty-mouth.
Sixty years on, people claim that Sex and the City's Samantha Jones is the figment of a gay, male scriptwriter's imagination, but compare it to this story from Murray Garrett, a press photographer, recounting a backstage photo-call: 'This one idiot guy ... says to her, "Hey Ava, Sinatra's career is over, he can't sing any more ... what do you see in this guy? He's just a 119-pound has-been." And Ava says, very demurely, no venom, just very cool, in the most perfect ladylike diction, "Well I'll tell you - 19 pounds is cock."'
She married three times - to Mickey Rooney (a serial cheater), the musician Artie Shaw (who belittled her) and finally and most tumultuously to Frank Sinatra. She lured him away from his wife, sinking his career in the process, married him, divorced him, but never got over him. Nor he her. It was a life-long relationship between two people who loved each other but couldn't be together. Their rows, she said, 'started on the way to the bidet'.
Instead, Gardner had affairs. They litter her life. She slept with David Niven, Robert Mitchum, John F Kennedy. She had flings with Spanish bullfighters and Mexican beach boys and rejected Howard Hughes, the multi-millionaire aviator and womaniser.
What made Gardner who she was? It's the great, unanswered question of her life and career. There is nothing in the early years to suggest her character to come. Not the tomboyish childhood spent with her family among the ordinary rural poor of north Carolina; nor the moment when an MGM studio exec spotted her portrait in the window of a photographer's shop; nor even when she married Mickey Rooney, the studio's biggest star.
It is as if her character wasn't so much revealed over time, as forged in the furnaces of Hollywood's industrial complex. There are countless testimonies from other Hollywood stars to Gardner's beauty, but almost no sense of her as a person. She gradually turns from object to subject, her beauty her defining characteristic and the key to her power and freedom but also, as her favourite director, John Huston, says, a curse from the gods. 'Ava,' he said, 'has well and truly paid for her beauty.'
Her high spirits descend into alcoholic abuse; her wanton behaviour into episodes such as the one when she is banned from the Ritz in Madrid for urinating in the lobby; when she moves to live out her days in the relative anonymity of a London flat it is with a sinking heart that you realise that the woman who charmed Ernest Hemingway and Robert Graves should become so isolated.
She made some truly terrible choices, including turning down the role of Mrs Robinson in The Graduate and ending her days making schlock TV. She was careless of her art, under-confident about her talent and tended to be taken at her own measure. But ultimately, it's besides the point. Gardner's genius was not her work, but, as her own autobiographical book proves, her life.

Alice moved to New York with a few friends after graduating college. It was her first big move away from home, from her parents -- school wasn't more than a few hours away by car -- and even at the time she knew it was a lofty and likely unrealistic ambition. But she was young and optimistic, and the allure of pursuing her artistic passion couldn't be squashed by the reality of a cramped apartment and a shoestring budget. That was just part of the adventure.
Fortunately, Alice was able to send her portfolio around and secure a job just before making the move. It was nothing particularly glamorous or artistic, just an entry level gig at a photography studio in Manhattan. Most of her work was done in the studio -- taking portraits and headshots, basic editing, answering calls and emails, printing photos off and getting them to customers. Sometimes she'd tag along on offsite assignments like corporate events and school picture days. The pay was middling and the work wasn't always stimulating but Alice was happy. And there were plenty of good days, like the one where a handsome writer came in to have new headshots taken for a book he was hoping to get published.
She writes her personal number on his receipt and the rest is history.
Over the years she's able to move up, get assigned to bigger and better paying clients and events that require more thought than just pointing and shooting. It's still not work that's entirely hers, not exactly the creative outlet she craves, but it's enjoyable enough and gives her a sense of purpose and identity outside of her relationship with Alan. Doing the covers for his books gives her more freedom of expression, even if there's a slight sting in knowing it's not entirely her vision.
In the wake of Alan's disappearance and presumed death, Alice turns again to her art. More than ever it's an outlet an a means of expressing what she can't put to words. She starts finding more personal creative success -- the sheen of notoriety on her name doesn't hurt, either. Her work features in galleries and festivals and she's able to step away from the more commercial form of photography little by little.
The Dark Place is her first solo exhibit.

Day 310323
Haven’t been online for ages!! updating just to monitor my recent activities and something to look back on (it’s that time of the year where I always have time to update my tumily 💃🏻🤍🤪)
Just few life updates since my last post 230222 coz I got really busy prepping for degree show/ Skyarts or life in general and forgotten about tumblr BIG time. I don’t publicly share my blog anyway so I’m just keeping it like a personal digital diary and something to stir up my creativity, but (disclaimer: *will slowly & hopefully! try to fill in gaps in between years where I have slacked with posting.. so in between today and previous post will be hashtag latepost) So since the aforementioned last post, I :
• had the most memorable degree show & graduated from my BA Fine Art degree at OBU
• joined a TV program on SkyArts called Portrait Artist of the year and made it to the Semi finals (also met incredible artists and people along the way + exciting projects and opportunities)
•moved to a new studio
•extended my UK visa
•Did a weeklong road trip in UK: Bath-Bristol- Wales (south-north), and Liverpool *visited some museums with awesome collections)
•travelled outside UK more : Italy, France, Monaco, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (more on this on the blog soon)
• Also today marks 1 month since I decided to go back to gym and now I want to start a new diet journey like I always do almost like yearly, just to challenge my mindset on things.

10 portrait inspiration
Masahisa Fukase was born in the town of Bifuka in the Nakagawa District, Hokkaido, Japan in 1934, the son of a successful local studio photographer. He graduated from Nihon University College of Art’s Photography Department in 1956, and became a freelance photographer in 1968 following brief stints at the Nippon Design Center and Kawade Shobo Shinsha Publishers. In the mid 1970s he set up a photographic school, The Workshop, with Daido Moriyma and Shomei Tomatsu.
Fukase is considered as one of the most comprehensive and experimental photographers of the post-war generation in Japan. He became world-renowned for his photographic series and ensuing publication Karasu made between 1975 and 1982 in the wake of his wife Yōko Wanibe divorcing him. The visual narrative of the series revolves around the anthropomorphic form of the raven, which is widely celebrated as a photographic masterpiece. And yet a majority of his work remained largely inaccessible to the public for over two decades. In 1992 Fukase developed permanent brain damage after a tragic fall, and it was only after his death in 2012 that his archives of work were gradually disclosed to the public. Since then a wealth of material has surfaced that had never previously been shown.
His work has been exhibited widely at institutions such as MoMA, New York, the Oxford Museum of Modern Art, the Foundation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain, and the Victoria & Albert Museum London. His work is held in major collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and The Getty Museum. He is also the winner of prizes including the 2nd Ina Nobuo Award, as well as the Special Award at the 8th Higashikawa Photography Awards.
At a first glance, Masahisa Fukase's Bukubuku might feel like an amusing , diverting, however shows a darker take on the self portrait. childhood memories of playing around in the bathtub. However, delving deeper into his biography, the black and white images of the Japanese photographer, taken in 1991, alone and submerged in his bathtub are symbolic of the isolation and loneliness he felt at the time.
Once a primary focus of his work, his marriage to second wife Yōko Wanibe, gaining him recognition as a photographer who only photographed his wife and reflecting on this again aafter his divorce on in his work Karasu.
Each individual project made by Fukase has a totally different matrix and subject. He did not use the same printing styles nor photography techniques for each project. This is most unusual and it is one of the elements that makes him so very special,” says Hoppen. Explaining his fascination with the work, which took him eight months to acquire, he explains, “I initially found myself being reminded how similar the Japanese and British sense of humour is (when viewing Bukubuku). The work seemed flippant and comical. But on closer inspection and after speaking to many close acquaintances of Fukase, I learnt that he saw this very much as a performance piece of work and this it was shaped by Fukase as an introspective and mournful soliloquy to his ex-wife Yoko, just after he learnt that she had gotten remarried.”
Taken over a two-month period with a Nikonos camera, Bukubuku was Fukase's last ever published photo book, with the prints never seen outside of Japan – instead, remaining secure in a box after they were first shown in Japan in 1992. Hoppen adds, “The work was made on a marvellous camera designed for underwater photography and had a flash incorporated into the camera. The flash, when used, utilises the wonderful refractive qualities that water has. It is quite brilliant in every sense.”

Aleyna Pace - Graduation Album 2024Capturing Aleyna Pace's graduation photos was a unique and memorable experience, as I had the honor of celebrating her milestone moment at the John Cooper School in The Woodlands, Texas. As she stepped into the studio in her emerald green cap and gown, I could sense the pride and excitement in the air. The bright white background we chose for most of her portraits made her slim figure stand out, her tight black dress subtly peeking out from beneath her gown. Each click of the camera aimed to capture not just her achievement but also the essence of who Aleyna is: poised, confident, and ready to step into a new chapter. For one special portrait, we opted for a dark gray background that gave the photograph an air of mystery, contrasting sharply with the purity of the white background in the other shots. This was my favorite photo of the session, as it seemed to capture a different side of Aleyna—a depth and complexity that seemed to hint at her artistic passions. A talented artist, Aleyna has a unique gift for sculpting, blending ancient influences with modern sensibilities to create pieces that are truly mind-blowing. Her work speaks of a timeless elegance, yet it pulses with contemporary energy, reflecting a mind that's always exploring and pushing boundaries. Now, Aleyna is starting her freshman year at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where her older sister is already a student. As I clicked the final frames, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for her journey ahead. With her talent and drive, I have no doubt she will excel in all her new endeavors, both in art and beyond. I wish her all the best as she begins this exciting new chapter, bringing her unique vision and creative spirit to everything she touches.
