Disc Golf Weekend + Women’s Global Event!

This was a first for me this weekend.  I played in two different tournaments back-to-back.  While I threw better at the first tourney on Saturday, I had a more enjoyable time during the first round of the second tournament on Sunday.

Saturday’s rounds were at Lobdell Reserve in some on again/off again rain throughout the day.  I minimized my mistakes and was quite pleased with how I threw and the resulting scores.  I shot my first under par round in a tournament and ended up with a final total of +1 for the day.  I took 6th place out of 22 recreational throwers...that should bump up my PDGA rating :)

Sunday’s tournament was the Gordon Holton Accolade @ Delaware State Park.  In honor of the Women’s Global Event that had taken place the previous day, the TD decided to allow all amateur women free entry to this tournament!   

The disc golf gods smiled upon me and I was placed with a group of women for the first round.  Not only could these ladies throw welI, they also were damn cute to boot!  It was one of the best disc golf experiences I’ve had yet...and I’ve been playing for almost 20 years now.  I wish I could get a card full of women for one round at every tournament I played!
