Bad puppy is back to long-leash only because her recall totally failed today and clearly we need to do a lot more work and take it back a few steps. I have now learned that goosander are far more exciting than mallards.

#We've been slowly increasing the distraction in the environment but clearly way underestimated today's environment #She ran out onto a frozen river chasing a duck #Then jumped into the river and couldn't get out on her own #My partner had to go out into the river to bring her back wading in to their waiste #I feel like we could have handled the whole thing so much better in retrospect but hindsight is 20:20 #Everyone is OK though #Partner was super cold but by the time we got home dog seemed to have forgotten #Both were r #Wrapped in many blankets with the fire and heating on #Anyway #Gnocchi terrified us all today but steep learning curve #Mostly an injured ego now #At least when the trainer asks why we haven't let her off lead again we have a valid reason #Everyone is fine #Mostly venting my failure anxiety #Gnocchi
