In the early 20th century, first, radiation therapy for foods to make them free from germs and bacteria received authorization in the US. However, the popularity of this food-protecting method caught the global market during World War Two. At that moment it’s very helpful to conserve sufficient food for the militaries. Gradually FDA or Food & Drug Administration of the U.S. approved this technique for all kinds of foods like – seafood, pork, red meat, fruits, veggies, wheat and many more. In 1986, food irradiation was circulated in every hook and nook of the U.S. Nowadays, the species are also brought in this system.

It never produces any kind of toxic chemicals.
It has the capacity to secure the nutrient values in the food.
Disadvantages of Food Irradiation
It does not claim that it’s 100% safe.
It was a little bit expensive.
It can be the reason for a little shortage of vitamins.
Foods which are mainly sent for Irradiation
There are several food items which are brought to the irradiation process. The names of the foods are in the following.
Onions & potatoes are the first to go through the irradiation method for preventing sprouting.
Rice, dal, wheat etc. go through irradiation for reducing the dominance of insects.
Kinds of seafood, pork, and red meats are irradiated to store them for a longer time.
Spices are also brought for irradiation because of hygenization.
Though there are a few drawbacks to the irradiation process, FDA has announced it as one of the safest ways for 30 years and more. Even the World Health Organization also ratified it as the safe way. Finally, you can learn how irradiation method of food preservation helps you enjoy fresh foods that improve your overall health.

via Real Estate
There is something healthy or even downright romantic about the idea of owning a farm. Farmland is an often overlooked asset class within real estate, often overshadowed by the sexier investments. However, farmland can have a place in a well-rounded portfolio.
As with timber investments, agriculture-related investments tend to have slightly lower but much less volatile returns than other types of investments. According to NCREIF data from Hancock Agricultural Investment Group, total farmland yields have ranged from mid-single digits to north of 30% over the past 20 years, with only one year since 2000 of a slightly negative valuation, which was offset by cash flow. This tells us that on a risk-adjusted basis, farmland is a very attractive asset class.
Farmland segments
Owning farmland can mean many different things. It starts by breaking it down into two main categories: row crops and perennial crops. Within these categories, there are different crops that can be grown and different investment strategies to adopt.
Row crops are crops that are planted and harvested every year and can be changed or rotated annually. These are raw materials such as corn, soybeans, wheat, potatoes, alfalfa, cotton or rice. An important feature of row crops is the economies of scale needed to grow them profitably. The industry is leaning towards bigger and bigger operators growing on many thousands of acres.
Permanent crops, on the other hand, are exactly what they sound like: crops that produce the same product every year and are not replanted. These are things like oranges, avocados, almonds, walnuts, apples, pistachios, and wine grapes. These crops tend to be more specialized and can yield slightly higher returns, but come with the added risks of less liquid end markets and potential shifts in consumer preferences that can affect prices more severely than row crops.
Benefits of investing in farmland
One of the most attractive aspects of investing in farmland is the long-lasting, stable and uncorrelated cash flow and valuation that comes with farmland. It is very rare to see huge gains, but it is also almost unheard of to suffer huge losses. It also serves as a great diversification tool as farmland tends to behave independently of stocks, bonds or other types of real estate.
The potential for higher-than-normal inflation is also increasingly discussed in the economic and financial media. Farmland, tied to commodities and serving as a hard, real asset that we can no longer turn to, has many characteristics that should bode well for investors if serious inflation sets in.
There is also just something in everyone’s soul that generates joy at the idea of growing something out of the ground. If you can integrate that into your investing life, in my humble opinion, it’s more fulfilling and more fulfilling.
Ways to invest
Within these categories, there are multiple potential channels to gain exposure to investments.
Unless you’re a farmer, it’s probably not the time to don overalls and a straw hat and head out into the field. A better approach would be to look at it as you would any other real estate investment: own the land and lease it to a high-quality operator.
When taking this approach, there are a few things to keep in mind.
First of all, structuring the lease. In its simplest form, a lease can simply be a dollar amount per acre that the farm operator pays you in exchange for being able to plant, fertilize, water, harvest and sell goods on the land. However, you can also structure the deal so that the risk/reward profile shifts so that the farmer pays a lower base rent plus an additional rental escalator based on the price and yield of the crop. This structure can be a win-win situation by reducing the risk the farmer runs through lower fixed costs, while still allowing you as a landlord to earn a higher return if the operation goes well.
Another slightly riskier approach to farmland would be to engage a partner in the capacity of third party management. Here you would be more like a farm owner, depending on the risk-return profile of the farm itself. You pay a management fee to your manager based on the revenue that comes in and the profit goes directly to you. The manager would use their agricultural expertise to operate the farm on a fee for service basis. In this structure, you have the potential to earn a higher return, but you also lose the security of a reliable rental payment.
In any of these capacities, depending on your wealth level and investment goals, it may make sense to invest as a limited partner (LP). As an LP, you can take advantage of the scale of a larger farm, while not investing your entire fortune in the segment. You also benefit from the expertise of a sponsor who can devote their professional time and energy to finding the right opportunities.
Things to consider
Farmland owners must first and foremost understand how to properly care for their land so that it remains sustainable and highly productive over the extremely long run – decades or even centuries! This means insight into soil nutrition, pH values, irrigation techniques, erosion, crop rotation, sustainable agricultural techniques and possible climate effects.
You also have to think globally. Farmland’s finished products can be exported anywhere in the world, which means understanding what’s happening globally in terms of demographics, economics, personal incomes and preferences, and more. All of this can affect the demand for agricultural products and thus the return on your investment.
This is where it is important to understand the difference between row crops and perennial crops. In many parts of the country, farmers on the same plot of land can switch between different products such as corn, wheat and soybeans, allowing them to take advantage of shifting markets. If you have a pecan orchard, you can’t exactly turn those trees into avocado trees next year when prices are better.
Conclusion
Sophisticated investors who understand how diversification and uncorrelated asset classes can benefit a portfolio will find that farmland can be an interesting investment option. It won’t be an area that will make you a millionaire overnight, but it’s an excellent option for stable cash flow and valuation, while preserving wealth in a vehicle with a strong track record. There’s also the added benefit of knowing that your investment dollars will go toward increasing the Earth’s agricultural productivity, feeding more people, and growing something meaningful.

Mushroom harvesting robots a step toward revolutionizing the global food system
youtube
The first presidential debate of 2020 was a debacle for public discourse. Unfortunately, after more than 200,000 deaths from COVID-19, America is as divided in grief as it was in prosperity. In New York and across the world, we are seeing a spike in cases, as few still immediately recall the panic of overwhelmed hospitals and empty supermarket shelves. Unfortunately, in the shadows of caustic Washington rhetoric lies the truth of a crumbling food system and more than 50 million food-insecure citizens (including 1 in 7 children). But mushroom-harvesting robots point to a potential solution.
This past summer, I drove more than 9,000 miles across the U.S. observing endless crops of corn, wheat, potatoes, grapes, and citrus fruits. While most irrigation systems today are fully automated, there still is a very human element of harvesting. The weakness of the current system which relies heavily on migrant workers and low-income day laborers became all too apparent with the demands of the coronavirus.
At ff Venture Capital, we already understood the pre-COVID-19 opportunities of agricultural automation evidenced by our investment in Burro. Feeding the nation under the current circumstances requires even higher yields, lower costs and greater originality.
REEST applies robotics to fungus cultivation
Just as offices have embraced online video, farming is undergoing a revolution with new indoor automated solutions. The latest entry is REEST, out of SOSV’s HAX Accelerator, aiming to bolster fungus output worldwide with its novel robotics. Founder and Chief Technology Oifficer Denys Kotelovych explained to me the epiphany that led to his startup. Based in the Lviv, Ukraine, Kotelovych’s partner, Petro Shmigelskyi, comes from a family tradition of mushroom farming.
“Basically, my co-founder’s relatives are owners of a mushroom farm, so he knew about the problems they’re facing,” explained Kotelovych. “The main problem is the labor, working conditions and quality of the yield. You must harvest mushrooms as soon as they get a needed size, and do it quickly, so they won’t overgrow. It’s kind of a mundane job, you have to decide which one to pick, and at the same time standing on a high shelf in a high humidity and low temperature environment.”
According to the latest statistics, the global mushroom market is projected to exceed $69 billion by 2024. The uptick in fungi is largely driven by a rising level of awareness of the nutritional benefits of mushrooms and the consumption of processed foods. Harnessing the current market spike, the Eastern European entrepreneurs shared their progress in sorting and harvesting spores.
“We’re starting by leasing our mushroom harvesting robots to existing mushroom farms, so we could generate revenue and build other types of robots,” explained Kotelovych. “We put our robots on the shelves, and they start to scan the mushroom field, analyzing data, tracking mushrooms and picking those which are ready, on time, producing baskets filled with mushrooms at the side.”
“Eventually, our goal is to build a complete mushroom farming solution, where only thing needed would be growing supplies and mycelium resulting in mushrooms collected into ready-to-sell boxes for the regular consumer,” he said.
REEST develops gripper, software for mushroom handling
Kotelovych described is innovative and proprietary mechatronic system. “We’ve designed our gripper — patent-pending — which works very well specifically for mushrooms,” he said. “With our software, we can precisely identify those mushrooms which should be picked by using depth cameras and CV [computer vision].”
In addition, Kotelovych elaborated on how the GRIPPER tackles the biggest challenge of machine harvesting — not destroying the inventory. “It’s important not to damage the mushroom, because people like to see nice and fresh mushrooms, and when you slightly apply too much force to a mushroom, it becomes dark, which is not good,” he said proudly.
youtube
In addition to building a working prototype, this innovative team will be rolling out its solution in the U.S. with Basciani Foods, one of the largest mushroom suppliers in the country. The offering aims to provide a 30% cost savings, in addition to increasing the yields substantially.
In outlining his business model, Kotelovych stated: “We charge $0.2 for 1 kg of harvested mushrooms, in comparison to human pickers having about $0.3 plus other expenses, which the grower should pay for each. So right now, it’s 30% savings, and it’s not only the price, but by using our algorithms we can improve the total amount of yield by carefully choosing an optimal harvesting strategy.”
The startup is currently raising capital to build 100 robots over the next 18 months. When I pressed the technologist for his thoughts about future opportunities, he replied, “We have thought about other crops, but the button mushroom industry is a vast chunk, so we’re fully focused here for now.”
As the pandemic continues, Kotelovych thinks that it’s an opportune time to solve the labor problem. “Even before COVID, growers struggled with people, and it’s pretty normal; nobody wants to work in such an environment doing mundane and tedious tasks, so yes, COVID just showed everyone that this problem should be automated,” he said. “It was so weird for us when we saw how the mushroom industry is labor related, so we instantly saw the robotics opportunities there. … I see so many opportunities in farming these days, so my honest opinion is that we’ll see plenty of robots very, very soon.”

Forget cbd shop: 10 Reasons Why You No Longer Need It
How To Make use of THC And CBD TO CONTROL Chronic Pain
In this post, we are going to discover what CBD is and how it can work for your benefit. There's also the issue of CBD's legality - something that's a lot grayer compared to the black-and-white picture most companies paint. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration considers CBD, like all cannabinoids, a timetable 1 drug. Which means it's simply as illegal as heroin and ecstasy. Meanwhile, hemp - a number of the cannabis plant regulated by the U.S. Section of Agriculture - can be legal , so long as its THC content is normally negligibly low. But since the agriculture department doesn't test for CBD - just THC - in hemp, more companies are receiving away with selling products they say contain CBD, says Sara Jane Ward, an assistant professor of pharmacology at the Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine who's been learning CBD in rodent versions for more than 10 years. Obviously, the legality of CBD is certainly "very confusing and incredibly gray," she says.
There are an incredible number of single women who are searching for Love. Most these would be a lot more than happy to have have a man like me, as I'd never take their affections for granted. Nevertheless, I am only 1 man. And you can man Love therefore many? Furthermore, I am currently on hiatus from any sexual activities. Although sex could be invigorating, in addition, it reduces our inspiration in other areas. I've experimented and discovered this to be accurate, at least in my life. And now I will reveal a great secret I have known for quite some time: Sexual pressure can be used to enhance creativity. If you are an artist, such as a painter, musician, songwriter etc., the sexual tension can help you to focus on your creations, as it seems to do something as some kind of catalyst. In my experience, the moment I begin satisfying a woman with regular sexual activity, my inspiration to create is normally diminished.
Cannabis tinctures are created by soaking Cannabis blooms (buds) in alcohol (leaf trim, hash and kief can also be used). The alcoholic beverages extracts the terpenes, cannabinoids and various other substances from the Cannabis (for the full ‘ Entourage Effect '), into a liquid that consists of a higher concentration of active compounds. https://cbdbro.ch/cbd-ol-dosierung/ Alcoholic beverages also preserves the substances, which is important since it takes longer to take tinctures instead of other types of Cannabis. Cannabis tinctures are often stored within an amber or dark blue cup, dropper bottle, which assists protect the tincture for much longer by blocking out sunlight. One of the advantages of using tinctures is definitely that the alcoholic beverages allows the body to absorb the medicine faster. Many tinctures are used by placing a few drops under the tongue, referred to as sublingual administration. When you have a tincture sublingually, the cannabinoids are absorbed quickly by the blood vessels lining the inner cells of the mouth, resulting in a quick onset of effects.
Production of hemp fibre for textiles begins in the field. The crop is certainly ready for harvesting when the vegetation start to shed pollen. From time of planting to harvest period generally only takes 70 - 3 months. At this time, the crop is lower and the stalks are remaining in the field or in drinking water to rett. Retting is usually a natural process that allows micro-organisms and moisture to break down the plant's pectin. Pectin is a natural plant binder which helps keep the plant's external fibre layer connected using its inner woody coating. Retting the stalks and wearing down the pectin facilitates the separation of the fibres from all of those other plant. An added bonus of the retting procedure which takes approx 4 - 6 weeks is definitely that it offers time for nutrition bound in the plant stalks and leaves to return back to the soil resulting in minimal need for fertilizer supplementation between hemp crops.
Holistic research indicates the advantages of the next to desroy cancer cells: turmeric (or curcumin), soursop, pau' d arco, bitter melon, dandelion root, goji berries, the acai berry, blueberries, noni, dragonfruit, laetrile (B 17, apricot kernels), essiac tea, water and aluminum free of charge baking soda, paw paw, hydrazine sulfate, haelan, enzyme therapy, pomegranate, dark cumin seeds, aloe vera, cayenne pepper, olive leaft extract, Asian mushroom supplements, mistle toe extract and cannabis oil with respect to cancer along with the topical usage of frankincense, clove and oregano important oils (they have great anti inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties) and cannabis oil along with intravenous high dose Vitamin C. Holistic analysis also indicates the benefits of bromelain, coconut, quercetin, papya leaf extract, thunder god vine (lei gong teng) and grape seed extract and grapefruit and grapefruit seed extract to destroy malignancy cells. Bromelain is an all natural enzyme that is normally derived from pineapple and is sold as a product. Some recommend high frequency generators and oxygen and ozone therapy.
Many men fear so much women because they fear rejection. However they must arrive to understand that "no" merely means no! No isn't the end of the globe. Look at all the people who ridicule me online. I possibly could care less. They aren't paying my expenses, or doing sexy things to make me smile! They are like flies from a dung heap that property on your own baked beams and potato salad when you are trying to have a picnic. I think that this is the key to learning to be a sexy man. A guy must reach the idea when no opinion issues but his own. Which must be his mantra," The World WILL NOT Revolve Around Me!". This is very important. Whenever we truly understand this one simple idea, it can change our lifestyle. For instance, if you go to a bar and make an effort to score with 5 different women, they may all turn you down. In this case, the timid man will need it to heart. It really is here that he'll give up the combat, as he has now been rejected 5 occasions in a row. But this is simply not the way of the sexy guy. The sexy guy is like the tiny skunk on the Bugs Bunny show who under no circumstances gives up.
Although piperine is generally considered safe, important questions regarding its side effects and interactions remain to be answered. Based on the "Journal of Meals Safety," piperine is generally safe to consume since it will not cause any main alterations in blood assessments. One potential adverse aftereffect of piperine can be that it may improve the absorption of medical medicines, bringing them to dangerous levels in the bloodstream. Because of this, the supplement should not be administered at the same time as any medicines. Piperine may inhibit liver fat burning capacity of drugs as well, which may also raise drug amounts. Some animal exams with piperine recommend that it could have reproductive toxicity. Once again, when starting any brand-new treatments, consult your doctor first.
Globally, North America was the largest revenue generator in the medical marijuana market in 2017, because of high investments in research and development activities to investigate the potential medical applications of cannabinoids. Moreover, Canada and some says of the U.S. are preparing to legalize the utilization of marijuana for medical and also recreational purposes. For example, by October 2018, Canada programs to legalize the drug use by adults. According to the current medical regime associated with cannabis, patients are allowed to access cannabis beneath the authorization of their healthcare providers. Thus, government initiatives to spread recognition about the medical software of marijuana and legalize its utilization are expected to contribute to the market development in the near future.
Cannabinoids are facilitative of the procedure of bone metabolism-the cycle in which old bone materials is replaced by new for a price of about 10 percent per year, imperative to maintaining strong, healthy bones over time. CBD in particular has been demonstrated to block an enzyme that destroys bone-building substances in your body, reducing the risk of age-related bone illnesses like osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. In both of those diseases, the body is no longer creating fresh bone and cartilage cells. CBD helps spur the procedure of new bone-cell formation, which is why it's been found to acceleration the healing of broken bones and, because of a stronger fracture callus, decrease the odds of re-fracturing the bone (bones are 35-50 percent more powerful than those of non-treated subjects).
Tumblr media
Recently, CBD has been used to greatly help treat anxiousness but most popularly it is used as pain relief due to its anti-inflammatory benefits. It is believed that CBD reacts with this native receptors in the brain and disease fighting capability which helps to alleviate discomfort and work as an effective anti-inflammatory. With regards to beauty and skincare, CBD is currently being discovered as a potent antioxidant, which helps to naturalise oxidative tension from environmental aggressors such as for example pollution. It also has a great moisturising proponent which makes it well suited for dryer complexions. Its ability to work as an equalizer, balancing our skin's oils, make it also good for acne prone skins since it is these natural oils which is essentially the route of our skin issues and can result in breakouts and acne.
Similar to the US, Australia even now maintains federal regulations on hemp production, despite the fact that individual states, you start with Victoria, started licensing farmers to grow it in 1998, but farmers are restricted to developing fibre and construction components as politics offers prevented them from access to booming worldwide hemp food markets. Additional jurisdictions followed Victoria's lead, Tasmania, Western Australia, however and including Queensl. The 2008 Hemp Market Take action permitted hemp cultivation in New South Wales In 2014 Australian hemp maker Ecofibre stated of the industry: What we are creating presently is merely low-level, low-value market materials such as for example pet bedding, equine bedding, erosion control mediums, oil spill containment items, garden mulch - you know, basic things like that … there's lots of products we could reach eventually, but … the market isn't at that stage however. It's hampered”.
As for gun deaths within the United States, the USA has the highest murder rate per capita simply by firearms under western culture, and that's a known fact. Guns are not only a much, much easier way to permanently maim or kill somebody (which they're designed and created to do.), but they're much too accessible right here in america. Too many unstable people (i. e. people who have a brief history of substance & alcoholic beverages abuse, anger management problems, mental illness, etc.) have access to firearms, which makes an already-nasty circumstance worse. Moreover, the NRA offers affectively bullied lawmakers out of passing more powerful, more affective gun laws, and even simple items such as for example requiring gun producers to install safety locks within their products in order to prevent unauthorized use of a firearm in the event that it's stolen or whatever.
A nutritionist may be able to present suggestions about specific foods you can include or remove from your own diet. And if you are eating a lot of junk food, I would instantly cease all activity in that area. Please, do not let greedy people ruin your life. There are many types of how meals can adversely affect our health and wellness. If we can look for a way to health without the utilization of drugs, that is always the better way. And do not end up being deceived by ignorant people. When you refer to the fact that you will be having hallucinations, which explains why you need the medication, I am interested to learn what you are seeing or hearing. Though it is true that people are vunerable to delusions, because of disease, or a physical malfunction of the mind, it is also true that there are those who have psychic abilities. I am such a person, and you need to recognize that ignorant and fearful people, many who've college degrees, will dismiss whatever they do not understand, or that has not been sanctioned by a ruling authority.
youtube
First of all, I'd seek the tips of a tuned, and qualified nutritionist. Invest some time and shop around. There are several pretenders who are simply looking for a payday. In case you are a person who eats meat, I recommend that you explore the options of a vegetarian diet. If you are having discomfort during sexual activity, it isn't good to continue such activity until you solve the problem. But that is only a obstacle, in fact it is not the finish of your sexy existence. I often make use of adversity as a catalyst for brand-new ideas, and various approaches to a specific problem. If intercourse is currently a problem, then instead of giving up altogether, I would focus on oral sex, and various other method of clitoral stimulation. I am assuming you certainly are a woman, but if you're a guy, I am not aware of how you could attain orgasm while experiencing pain cbd tropfen with Mr. Johnson.

Thai entrepreneur pushing insects as the snack of the future
Tumblr media
They are sold in bags like salted peanuts, or tubes like stacked potato chips, but these crunchy morsels on the shelves of #Thai convenience stores and supermarkets stand apart from the snack food crowd.
The bugs - baked, not fried - could be the next big thing in tasty treats. Rural Thais have long eaten bugs as part of their diet. In big cities, street vendors catering to migrant workers sell cooked insects that under most circumstances would cause foreign tourists to whip out a can of bug spray. The idea to package them like potato chips came to entrepreneur Thatnat Chanthatham when a story on the news caught his attention. "I heard on the TV news that the U.N. said insects were an alternative source of protein for the future. So I thought that Thais eat a lot of insects already and can get them as street food. Has anyone put them in a bag?" the 46-year-old told The Associated Press. "If not, how can we do it? What sort of flavors?" His supply chain begins at the Smile cricket farm in Ratchaburi province, 100 kilometers (60 miles) west of Bangkok. In one breeding room alone, more than a million of the chirping insects are being raised on a 45-day cycle from egg to adult to harvest. Some of the products are baked here, others at the next stop, a factory in Bangkok, where they are packaged and then trucked to retail outlets.
Tumblr media
In this Oct. 3, 2019, photo, Thai entrepreneur Thatnat Chanthatham shows crickets at Smile cricket farm at Ratchaburi province, southwest of Bangkok, Thailand. Insects have long been part of the diet of poor rural Thais, but Thatnat - inspired by studies showing bugs are high in protein and raising them does minimal damage to the environment - hopes to broaden the market for baked bugs by packaging them like potato chips and selling them in convenience store and supermarkets. (AP Photo/Sakchai Lalit) Small crickets are one of the best sellers in the range of insect convenience snacks sold under the HiSo brand - that's Thai slang for "high society." HiSo snacks unabashedly proclaim what they are: the bamboo worms look like bamboo worms; the crickets look like crickets. The line also includes crispy silkworms. They come in original, barbecue and tom yam flavors, and can be found in Thailand's ubiquitous 7-Eleven shops and in a major supermarket chain. Crickets are priced at 25 baht (83 cents) for a bag; at the high end, a tube of bamboo worms costs 160 baht ($5.29). HiSo has established itself in the snack market, but there was plenty of trial-and-error involved, Thatnat said, such as when they were considering whether to sell large, black crickets. "Even though I'm a regular when it comes to eating bugs, I still felt like their eyes were staring at me ... Then, after we ate them, their legs and wings poked out and got stuck in our teeth and gums," he said, laughing. "I thought, should we go ahead? I talked to the team and they said please shelve this one, so I did." Two tons of insects pass through his Bangkok factory every month. Revenue is steady at around $100,000 per month, but overheads are high. While he raises his own crickets, he hasn't yet found a way to produce enough silkworms and bamboo worms to the required standard, so he has to buy them from independent suppliers. Still, four years after the metamorphosis of HiSo from idea to industry, Thatnat is a satisfied man. "When it comes to bugs, there are people who are scared of them, people who eat them and people who don't. But to be where we are today, with people knowing and accepting our HiSo brand, that's what I'd call a success."

(AP Photo/Sakchai Lalit) Until recently, demand for edible bugs was mainly in parts of Asia, Africa and South America. But HiSo's emergence comes amid growing global interest in insects as a food source. They don't need a lot of space, don't need a lot of feed and don't leave a large carbon footprint. And in return, as the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization points out, they offer substantial nutritional benefits for livestock and for humans. "They have an incredibly high content of protein, but also minerals and also vitamin B12," said the FAO's Katinka de Balogh. "The nutritional value of insects has not been recognized in the past and I think, nowadays, we are finding that there is a huge potential." Will HiSo's packaging and marketing be a game-changer, helping make insects the food of the future? Thatnat said his products are popular with Asian tourists, especially the Chinese, so his next goal is to export them. But so far, he's hit a brick wall, and blames a morass of unclear regulations. "There needs to be an agreement between governments. All you really get is advice on bugs as a food source," he says. "In the end, these insects can't really go between countries yet. That's one of the things stopping us from obtaining our goal." Even in Thailand, some can't stomach the thought of crunchy crickets or original flavor bamboo worms. Many passers-by kept walking when recently offered samples in the street, or flat out turned down a taste, though two office workers who tried them said they were fine. "If I see them, I'll buy them," said Anuwat Suetrong. – You can follow BangkokJack on Twitter, Instagram, & Reddit.
