Cell phone damage from the summer heat
Electronics and gadgets, especially cell phones, are vulnerable to the intense summer heat and heavy humidity. While most of us like relaxing in the sun outdoors, our mobile phones may not be able to withstand the high temperatures, putting them at danger of heat damage.
Long-term exposure to extreme heat can slow down the device, harm internal phone parts, overheat the battery, harm the circuit board, and result in data loss and battery leaking. Placing the phone in direct sunlight may result in the screen cracking, becoming pixelated, or becoming unresponsive. Keep in mind to never expose your phone or any other electrical gadget to direct sunlight. Global Cell Phone and Laptop Repair is one of the leading Mobile repair shop near Langley.
As summer temperatures rise, it is vital to safeguard our devices and keep them cool.
Don't leave your phone in the car.
It is a typical error that many individuals using cell phones commit. On a scorching summer day, the temperature inside the car might increase significantly, seriously harming the phone. If you must leave the phone in the vehicle, put it in the trunk. Apple suggests avoiding using the phone when the temperature is over 95 degrees and not storing it at a temperature higher than 113 degrees Fahrenheit.
Don't use your phone excessively
Avoid using your phone excessively when outside when the weather is hot. Playing games, making several calls, taking pictures, using the map for directions, and viewing movies can all increase the phone's temperature. When not in use, put the phone on aeroplane mode, reduce the brightness of the screen, switch off the device, and exit any unneeded or inactive apps.
Take the case away
On a steamy summer day, cell phones also need to be able to breathe. Although covers shield the phone, they also keep heat from escaping, which overheats the battery. Remove the protective cover from the phone if it starts to heat up so that it can cool down.
Do not carry your phone in your pocket.
In the summer, never carry your phone in your pocket. Additionally, body heat has the ability to warm up a smartphone and keep it from cooling off after becoming hot. Put the phone in a bag and keep it out of your sight.
Carefully charge it
The phone has been seen to heat up while being charged. Never charge your phone outside in the sun as this might cause the already heated device to become even hotter. Similar to this, never charge a hot phone, never tuck a charging phone beneath a pillow or blanket, and never use an external charger while it's hot outside. To prevent overheating during charging, experts suggest using a charger that is suggested by the manufacturer.
Cooling the phone gradually
It is preferable to let an overheated phone cool down gradually as opposed to taking it to the coolest location. Extreme temperature fluctuations, such as going from hot to cold, can seriously harm a phone. Remove the battery and casing from the mobile phone if it is overheating, place it out of direct sunlight, and turn it off so that it may cool down naturally. iPhone screen or LCD cracked? You need to be aware of these five things.
A sudden drop is the worst thing you can do to your iPhone! Of course, the majority of iPhone users would never even consider it in a million years. If you're not cautious, this expensive beast might end up costing you a lot.
Yes, the instant you drop your phone, the screen is gone, and the worst-case scenario is that the LCD is harmed.
Global Cell Phone and Laptop repair is the best place for repairing the iphone.
LCD versus iPhone screen differences
Even though the LCD and glass are two separate parts of your phone, it's possible that you'll mistake them. For the phone to work correctly, the glass screen and LCD parts that make up the display must be linked.
But unlike the glass screen, which is on the exterior of the gadget, the LCD screen is within. To put it another way, the glass receives the signals that are transmitted from your fingertips and interprets them before sending them to the processing unit. The pictures created by the processing unit are then shown on the LCDs.
5 Things You Should Know About LCDs and Screens
1. Screen protector use is essential
Less protection is offered by the front screen, often called the display screen. You still run the risk of compromising the LCD screen if it is cracked or broken. This is as a result of the front screen's placement above the LCD panel. It is advised to add a tempered glass screen protector in such a circumstance. Your gadget will become more resistant to breaking and cracking, which will stop any harm before it starts.
2. Spend money on premium screen protectors
Always make the decision to get top-notch screen protectors up front. It will be more resilient to the dips and bumps that are unavoidable. It is essential to take the necessary steps to protect your phone from harm.
3. Replacing or repairing the front screen is less expensive than replacing the LCD.
The LCD screen of a mobile device is typically protected and enhanced by a second screen or touchscreen. Your initial worry after dropping your phone unintentionally is probably that the Android device's display has malfunctioned. However, there is much more cause for worry if your cell phone's LCD is malfunctioning. Be aware that changing your LCD screen will cost much more than replacing just the front screen. Therefore, it is essential to take all necessary precautions to protect the LCD since you are unable to work with a damaged LCD panel.
4. A cracked LCD impairs the functionality of a phone
The phone's LCD is a crucial component and is connected to the digitizer. A damaged LCD directly affects how your phone works. This is so that analogue signals may be converted to digital signals by the digitizer.
As a result, if your phone's LCD screen is acting up, the touchscreen can also stop working. A poorer picture display will occur from any damage to the LCD, which is also the main component of the phone's display. In the worst case situation, a damaged LCD can interfere with your ability to answer incoming calls.
5. A damaged LCD might result from a delayed screen repair.
Get your iPhone's screen repaired right away if it has been damaged. Any delay in fixing the cracked screen might cause an LCD to become damaged. It is as a result of dust entering through gaps. In the event that you break your phone's screen, have it fixed by experts. Additionally, if the screen of your iPhone is broken, it is imperative that you refrain from attempting any STUNT from your end. Trying
Anything that you are aware of has the potential to do more harm. In this case, it is recommended to get in touch with a reputable iPhone screen repair in Langley, Global Cell Phone and Laptop Repair.
Broken screen and LCD signs
The type of screen that is harmed greatly relies on the power of the hit. The front screen of the iPhone is most likely the only component that gets harmed if your phone falls and the screen breaks or cracks but the display is still on.
On the other hand, your LCD screen is likely broken and will also affect the front screen if you see lines, black spots, or discoloured parts on the screen, or if the screen does not light up at all.
If your LCD is damaged, it may flicker or sway while you're using it. This can be quite annoying. The flickering screen is impossible for the eyes to focus on. Additionally, your screen could cease responding.
The touch functionality is also made feasible by the digitizer and LCD being merged into a single component. Your phone's touch functionality won't work correctly if your LCD is damaged.

About solar flexible solar panel manufacturers teach you, how to choose ...
When picking flexible solar panels, there are some key factors to consider to ensure you choose the right product for your needs. Here are some key points to consider when selecting a flexible solar panel: Power output: determine the power output you need. This depends on what device or application you are charging, e.g. cell phone, laptop, camping equipment, etc. Check the power rating of the solar panel (usually measured in watts) to compare the performance of different models. Size and weight: Flexible solar panels are lighter and more flexible than traditional silicon solar panels. Make sure you buy the right size for your application, and consider the impact of weight on portability and installation. Foldability and durability: Flexible solar panels can often be folded, rolled or bent for portability and storage. Check the durability and water resistance of the product to ensure adequate durability for outdoor use. Efficiency and conversion rate: Efficiency refers to the ability of a solar panel to convert solar energy into electricity. Higher efficiency means that more power can be generated from the same area. Choose a product with a higher conversion rate. Charge Controller: Flexible solar panels typically require a charge controller to optimize power output and prevent battery overcharge. Make sure the product you choose has an appropriate charge controller or integrated controls. Adaptation to the environment: Consider the environmental conditions in which you plan to use the solar panel. For example, some flexible solar panels may be suitable for outdoor camping, while others are better suited for installation on a boat or car roof. Warranty and Customer Support: Learn about the product's warranty policy and customer support so that you can get repairs or assistance when needed. Rechargeable devices and batteries: Flexible solar panels are often used to recharge mobile devices or batteries. Make sure your devices and batteries are compatible and consider the required charging time. In conclusion, when picking a flexible solar panel, you need to consider the power output, size and weight, foldability, efficiency, adaptability to the environment, brand reputation and other factors in order to choose the right product for your needs. Research Nester assesses the growth and market size of the global DC power supplies market which is anticipated to be on account of the growing adoption of electric vehicles and increasing demand for automotive.
New York – June 2, 2023 - Research Nester’s recent market research analysis on “DC Power Supplies Market: Global Demand Analysis & Opportunity Outlook 2035” delivers a detailed competitor’s analysis and a detailed overview of the global DC power supplies market in terms of market segmentation by vertical, type, output power, and by region.
Growing Demand for LED to Promote Global Market Share of DC Power Supplies
While around 49% of the world's light sources were LEDs in 2019, this share is expected to increase to around 86% by 2030. Light Emitting Diodes, or LEDs, are semiconductor devices that resemble transistors or other types of diodes with the added ability to convert electrical energy into light energy. As such, they operate on low DC voltage and, unlike an incandescent lamp, cannot be plugged directly into an AC power source.
It is expected that by 2023 there will be around 5 billion smartphone users worldwide, which means that around 85% of the world's population will own a smartphone. However, smartphones have various problems after a period of time, and a DC power supply is used for error detection. A DC power supply is a necessary piece of equipment for mobile repairs. It is used to identify different types of cell phone defects.
Growth Drivers:
•        Upsurge in Data Centers
•        Growth in Power Generation from Solar
Challenges:
Global DC converter manufacturers or their brand owners face a significant threat from unlicensed and substandard products in regional markets. Local manufacturers of AC-DC power supply converters often offer their products at discounted prices, using stolen trademarks and logos of well-known brands, resulting in significant losses in the global DC power supply market.
Request Report Sample@ https://www.researchnester.com/sample-request-4790 By vertical, the global DC power supplies market is segmented into telecommunications, consumer electronics, medical & healthcare, military & aerospace, transportation, lighting, food & beverages, and industrial. The consumer electronics segment is to garner the highest revenue by the end of 2035 by growing at a significant CAGR over the forecast period. The growth of the segment is due to the growing consumer electronics market. In addition, it is estimated that the increasing investment in consumer electronics will fuel the growth of the segment. The government forecasts that the PLI program will attract around USD 413 million in investment in large-scale electronics manufacturing in India by 2025, mainly in the production of mobile phones and electronic components. Smartphones and other electronic devices are becoming more and more popular in both domestic and foreign markets.
By region, the North America DC power supplies market is to generate the highest revenue by the end of 2035. In North America, approximately 328 million people (approximately 83% of the population) subscribed to wireless services in 2021. In addition, the number of device users is growing in this region as well, which is estimated to boost market growth as well. Several technological developments, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), which connects electrical devices, are also driving growth in the North American market. Various devices such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets rely on DC power supplies to maintain constant voltage, allowing for easy demand.
This report also provides the existing competitive scenario of some of the key players of the global DC power supplies market which includes company profiling of Acopian Technical Company, Ametek Inc., B&K Precision Corporation, Chroma ATE Inc., and others.

Attero Recycling Pvt Ltd - How To Reduce E-Waste With Sustainable IT Solutions?
Tumblr media
Attero Recycling Pvt Ltd - E-waste is a problem that has been growing rapidly in recent years, and it’s only expected to get worse. With more and more people relying on technology for their daily lives, the amount of waste produced from outdated electronics continues to increase.  In this blog, Attero Recycling Reviews, explain the impact of e-waste on our environment and discuss various tips for reducing it e-waste with sustainable IT solutions.
What is E-Waste
Attero Recycling Pvt Ltd says, E-waste is any electronic equipment that has been discarded. It can be anything from a cell phone to a laptop or desktop computer. E-waste is harmful to both the environment and human health because it contains toxic chemicals, heavy metals, and other materials that can cause cancer, reproductive damage, birth defects, neurological damage, and respiratory problems.
Causes of E-Waste
There are a number of reasons why e-waste is becoming an increasingly pressing global issue. Firstly, the amount of electronic waste being produced is skyrocketing. This is largely due to the ever-growing popularity of consumer electronics, as well as the fact that devices are becoming increasingly obsolescent – meaning that people are upgrading to new models more frequently than ever before.
Secondly, the components used in electronics are often toxic and can cause serious environmental damage if not disposed of properly. For example, many LCD screens contain mercury, which can leach into water supplies and contaminate soil if not disposed of correctly.
Thirdly, most e-waste ends up in developing countries, where it is often incinerated or dumped in landfill sites, causing pollution and health problems for local communities. Finally, recycling e-waste properly is often challenging and expensive, due to the complex mix of materials used in many devices.
In light of all these challenges, it’s clear that we need to find more sustainable ways to deal with our growing e-waste problem.
What Are Sustainable IT Solutions?
According to Attero Recycling Reviews, The term “sustainable IT solutions” refers to practices and technologies that help organizations reduce their reliance on traditional, energy-intensive IT infrastructure. Sustainable IT solutions are designed to minimize the environmental impact of an organization’s IT operations while also reducing costs and improving efficiency.
Organizations can achieve sustainability in their IT operations through a variety of means, including implementing energy-efficient data center designs, using green computing technologies, and adopting green networking practices. Implementing sustainable IT solutions can help organizations reduce their carbon footprint, save money on energy costs, and improve their overall operational efficiency.
Benefits of Sustainable IT Solutions
According to Attero Recycling Pvt Ltd, Sustainable IT solutions are a great way to help your business meet the goals and objectives of sustainability, while also contributing to the environment.
The benefits of sustainable IT solutions include:
Reduced energy costs through more efficient use of power appliances and equipment
Lower carbon footprint by reducing greenhouse gas emissions
Improved air quality by reducing use of electronic devices in buildings and offices
Enhanced productivity through increased employee engagement with environmentally friendly technologies
Tips for Reducing E-Waste with Sustainable IT Solutions
There are a number of ways to reduce e-waste with sustainable IT solutions. Here are some tips:
1. Use recycled materials: Using recycled materials is one of the most effective ways to reduce e-waste. Recycled materials can be used to create new products, which reduces the need for new raw materials and helps to conserve resources.
2. Repair and upgrade existing equipment: Another way to reduce e-waste is to repair and upgrade existing equipment rather than buying new equipment. This prolongs the life of the equipment and reduces the amount of waste that is produced.
3. Donate or recycle old equipment: Donating or recycling old equipment is another way to reduce e-waste. By donating or recycling old equipment, you can help to ensure that it is properly disposed of and doesn’t end up in a landfill.
4. Purchase eco-friendly products: When purchasing new products, look for those that are eco-friendly and have a smaller environmental impact. Eco-friendly products are often made from recycled materials and are designed to be more energy efficient, which can help to reduce your carbon footprint.
5. Educate others about e-waste: One of the best ways to reduce e-waste is to educate others about the issue. Spread the word about the importance of reducing e-waste and how easy it is to make sustainable choices that can help protect our environment.
E-waste is a growing problem, but thankfully, there are solutions available to help reduce the amount of e-waste generated, and Attero Recycling Pvt Ltd. will help you recycle your e-waste properly. Or want more information you can visit Attero Recycling Pvt Ltd site, and you can check consumers Attero Recycling Reviews where you get how they provide their good service.

Cry Out to God
By Daymond Duck    Published on: April 18, 2021
On Apr. 7, 2021, Jean Worland posted an article titled “America just died a little…”
It was written by an unknown writer, and I want to pass on some of what the writer said.
It looks like the Deep State is controlling everything in Washington (Congress, the FBI, the CIA, the Justice Dept, the Pentagon, the Military) plus Silicon Valley, the social media, cable news, and more.
The Clintons have never been prosecuted for destroying e-mails, phones, servers, etc. (add to that pedophilia, and more).
Obama, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Rice, and others have never been prosecuted for spying on Trump, falsely accusing Trump officials, etc.
Soros is never prosecuted for funneling money to groups that riot, loot, destroy property, etc.
Durham’s report on the Russian Collusion myth has never come out.
I will add that:
Dianne Feinstein was on the Senate Intelligence Committee (and even chaired it for a few years) while employing a Chinese Communist as her office manager and driver, and her husband was getting wealthy trading with China, and nothing was done about it.
Eric Swalwell was on the House Intelligence Committee with access to all of America’s intelligence when it was discovered that he had slept with a Chinese spy that helped get him elected. Nancy Pelosi (whose husband also got rich trading with China) refused to remove him, and even reappointed him, and nothing has been done about it.
There is plenty of evidence of election fraud, but the courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, refused to hear most of it (and now the Shadow government wants to pack the court so they can get away with everything they have done in the past and everything they plan to do in the future).
Biden says “no Amendment (to the U.S. Constitution) is absolute,” signaling the Shadow Government’s plans to destroy freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and disarm America so they can do what they want, and no one can resist them.
Things are not hopeless because persecution causes God’s people to cry out to God, and when enough do that, He rescues them.
Here are several reasons why I believe the global situation will worsen, cause more of God’s people to cry out, and soon result in Christians being caught up (Raptured).
One, concerning the days of Noah (wickedness): on Apr. 9, 2021, it was reported that experts have confirmed that the abandoned laptop computer at a Delaware repair shop belonged to Hunter Biden, and there is no evidence that the information on it is not true or that it is “Russian disinformation.”
Tony Bobulinksi has verified the accuracy of e-mails on the computer, the work order that was signed when the laptop was left at the repair shop contains Hunter Biden’s signature, and Hunter now acknowledges that “it could be his.”
The laptop contains evidence that Hunter and his dad (Pres. Joe Biden) potentially betrayed America, and Hunter was a sex abuser and drug addict.
Despite this strong evidence, it looks like Hunter and Joe are going to get away with their crimes.
Two, on Apr. 4, 2021, Pope Francis sent a letter to the spring meeting of two globalist groups, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Francis called for a new system of global government, a new system of social order (a godless world religion), everyone on earth to be vaccinated for Covid, and wealth redistribution (a new economic system; The Great Reset) so poorer countries can help pay for programs to fight “climate change.”
Francis’ call to restructure the world mentioned “the common good” (the way he often refers to world government) several times; it totally ignored Jesus, and mentioned God only one time.
These three global systems (world government system, world religious system, and world economic system) will be established, and the role of God and Jesus will be ignored while they are setting it up.
It is incredible that the leader of a religious organization that is located in a city on seven hills is playing an important role in this.
Three, in Jan. 2021, the state of California passed a law requiring officials to jail prisoners according to their gender identity.
On Apr. 6, 2021, it was reported that 261 prisoners that were jailed as men have said they are women, requiring them to be transferred to women’s cells.
Some officials believe some prisoners could be lying about their gender in order to be jailed with women, and this will increase sexual violence and pregnancies in prisons that house women.
Connecticut and Massachusetts have passed similar laws.
Four, the Biden administration is pushing the Green New Deal, and some of those behind it want U.S. citizens to eat less meat.
This passage of Scripture has come to my mind, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth” (I Tim. 4:1-3).
Five, concerning the Mark of the Beast: on Apr. 11, 2021, the Soufriere Volcano on the Caribbean Island of Saint Vincent was erupting and approaching a possible danger level.
Officials decided to use cruise ships to evacuate the island, but they would only allow those that have been vaccinated to board the ships.
Unvaccinated people that wanted to be vaccinated immediately could be, but they would still not be allowed to board the ships because their vaccination could cause them to have side effects.
Six, many that follow current events have seen reports that Covid is mutating, and there could soon be a need for vaccinated citizens to be vaccinated with new vaccines.
We have also seen calls for “vaccine passports” and other ways to track and identify those that have been vaccinated.
On Apr. 5, 2021, Dr. Anthony Fauci said the U.S. will not require citizens to use vaccine passports, but he believes the private sector (businesses, schools, etc.) will require proof of vaccination if citizens want to use them (buy and sell, get an education, have a bank account, seek medical care, etc.).
Moreover, it was recently reported that one of Biden’s senior advisors said the Biden administration is already providing guidance to the private sector on this issue.
We don’t know how long it will take, but there is good reason to believe that new vaccines and tracking systems could eventually lead to the Mark of the Beast.
Seven, on Apr. 7, 2021, it was reported that former Vice Pres. and Chief Scientist for Allergy and Respiratory Research at Pfizer, Dr. Mike Yeadon, said governments, media and big tech are lying to the public about Covid.
Yeadon said they are planning to produce billions of vaccines for Covid “variants,” and regulatory officials are planning to approve those vaccines without testing them to see if they are safe for the public.
This former Pfizer executive added that he cannot think of any reason to vaccinate potentially billions of people with untested vaccines they don’t need unless it is being done to reduce the population of the earth.
On Apr. 10, 2021, a study of 400 people in South Africa found that more vaccinated people are getting the new strain of Covid than unvaccinated people.
On Apr. 12, 2021, it was reported that official government documents in the U.K. show that the next round of Covid deaths may be higher among people that have already been vaccinated than among people that haven’t been vaccinated because Covid will spread faster among careless, over-confident vaccinated people than among more careful, unvaccinated people.
On Apr. 13, 2021, the CDC recommended a pause in vaccinations with the Johnson and Johnson (J & J) vaccine while they investigate reports of unusual blood clots in six women between the ages of 18-48 (J & J denied that the clots were linked to its vaccine).
Eight, many readers are asking me for advice on whether they should be vaccinated or not, and I am not qualified to answer that question.
A reader sent the link below to me, and those that are considering a vaccination might want to watch this video before they make up their mind.
https://www.lewrockwell.com/2021/01/bill-sardi/horrific-latent-deaths-predicted-among-the-elderly-by-genetics-professor-after-immunization-with-rna-vaccines/
The video is less than 5 minutes long, but please pay attention.
When the video ends, keep watching, and a second video will start that contains the opinions of many doctors and experts (28 min. and 34 sec.), and what they say sounds extremely important.
Finally, if you want to go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

FAQ
Hello! So, during a global pandemic and at the beginning of what will probably be a long and severe recession, at the age of 40 and with basically no knowledge of how automobiles work, I’m going to live in a van.
This might be a terrible idea. Hence, I’m calling my blog This Might Be A Terrible Idea.
If you’re reading this, I imagine it’s because you know me, so I’ll skip the introduction. I like a good FAQ, so let’s start there.
FAQ
Where are you going? Short answer: I don’t know!
Long answer: I’ll probably primarily split my time between Colorado/northern New Mexico, Maryland/Pennsylvania, and Florida. I want to stay as low-budget as I can and also avoid crowds during the pandemic. So whenever possible, I’ll opt for free, dispersed sites in national forests, state forests, BLM (which I now read as Black Lives Matter but here it’s the less-important acronym, Bureau of Land Management), state game lands, etc. I’ll pop into a developed campground every now and then to refill the water tanks, empty the portable toilet, and take a shower.
What kind of van do you have? In late June, I bought a 2007 Ford E250 with a high roof. In its first life, it was actually an Embassy Suites hotel shuttle, so when I got it, it had SO MANY SEATS. After it retired from the hotel biz, it went to a guy who owned a brewery and used the van for ski trips. Then he eventually traded it to a friend’s college-aged son in exchange for lawn-mowing work. This young man was actually going to make it into a camper too but didn’t have time, so he sold it to me.
I got the van for a very low price ($2000) because it’s really high mileage — almost 300,000. It also has a few issues: the dashboard, power windows, and radio only work sometimes. The doors are creaky and don’t like to close. There are splatters of paint (?) on the inside of the driver’s door. The air conditioning wasn’t working. And the interior is pretty beat up.
With help from my brother who actually knows about cars, I recharged the air conditioning. A new, functional instrument cluster is on the way. And the type of engine in this van (5.4L V8) supposedly has a reputation for being extremely durable. If I get a couple of good years out of this vehicle, I’ll be happy.
How are you going to afford this? A few years ago, I paid $4200 for an acre of land in the San Luis Valley, a few hours from Denver. I hoped to eventually put a little camper on it and make a very low-budget part-time home. But a few months after I bought the land, the county changed its rules to prohibit living in campers or mobile homes for more than a couple of weeks at a time. So the camper idea went out the window, and in June, I sold that land for $5000. This was my funding to buy the van and associated stuff. I’m going to try to keep the initial total cost of the van (vehicle, repairs, materials for the interior, solar installation) to about $6000.
I’m incredibly fortunate to be in a position where I don’t have to choose between my job and a weird nomadic lifestyle. About a year ago, I went full-time freelance as an editor and writer. So I’m self-employed and I work from home. I don’t even need the internet that much — aside from checking email, file downloads/uploads, and occasional googling for research and editing questions, I can be mostly offline. Also incredibly fortunate: the pandemic hasn’t affected my work, at least not so far.
I’ll have new and unexpected expenses: food will be more expensive, I’ll have to pay for campgrounds sometimes, the van will need gas and repairs and oil and new tires, and then I’ll want to make livability improvements (like insulation). But I hope that I’ll be able to cover all of that while still living within my means.
Aren’t you selling your condo? Why don’t you get a newer/lower mileage/already converted van? Yes, I am (fingers crossed that the sale goes through) selling my condo in Denver. But I also have no savings, no retirement fund, no emergency fund. And the recession is just getting started… the whole future seems pretty uncertain. I’d feel better if I kept as much of the condo money in the bank as possible, even if that means having a crappier van.
Don’t you worry about safety? Absolutely. I’m a worrying person. I worry a lot! But if I responded to those worries by not going anywhere alone, staying in only developed campgrounds, etc., then I’d have missed out on some of the best experiences in my life, and I’d never go much of anywhere at all.
To stay safe in a van, I’ll use the same approach I use for solo car camping. If a place feels sketchy, I go somewhere else. To avoid trouble from bears, I try not to get food on the ground, do food prep and brush teeth away from the vehicle, and keep the car doors locked when I’m away and at night. To avoid trouble from bros, I try to stay out of sight. I pick spots and set up my campsite so that people passing by mostly just see the vehicle and not me or my single chair or small tent. I have bear spray, which stays in arm’s reach when I’m out hiking and at night, and I have a sharp knife, which is always pretty accessible too.
In fact, safety is why I chose a van over a truck with a camper, which actually would have been preferable. If a truck ever had recurring or expensive mechanical problems, I could just get a new truck and put the camper on it — but with a van, I’ll either have to do the expensive repairs or get a new van and re-do the whole interior. And if I wanted to stay in one place for a while, I could take the camper off and just drive the truck around, saving on gas and wear and tear. But with a truck camper, if I were ever inside the camper and felt unsafe, I’d have to *go outside* and then get into the truck cab in order to leave. With a van, if things start feeling sketchy, I can just hop in the driver’s seat and go.
(Side note: It’s upsetting and frustrating to me that these safety concerns and choices are so linked to gender. Of course men also need to think about safety when they’re out camping alone, but I’m pretty sure I’ve had to think about it at least 200% as much as my equivalent 40-year-old non-threatening-looking out-of-shape single dude.)
If we’re talking about safety from non-sentient threats — bad weather, injuries, mechanical breakdowns, etc. — then I…
a) try not to get into situations that I can’t get out of — whether it’s a too-rugged road, a too-steep trail, or a spot that is likely to turn into a mud pit if it rains. I also think about whether I could walk to get help if I needed to. b) have some basic safety and first aid stuff. Tape, gauze, and a mylar blanket for me; jumper cables and a portable air compressor for the car. c) have a Triple A membership in case I need a tow.
The van came with a handy fire extinguisher strapped to the driver’s seat. To reduce the possibility of being unable to call for help if I get stuck somewhere, I eventually plan to get a cell phone signal booster.
The fire extinguisher or even my bear spray won’t keep me safe from COVID-19. But like I mentioned, I’m trying to stay as far away from crowds as possible. To cut down on contact when resupplying, I’ve got storage for 10 gallons of water (I’m actually going to expand this to 15) and plan to carry enough food for a month. Unless there’s a mechanical problem or breakdown (definitely my biggest concern), I should be able to drive coast to coast while remaining in a relatively firm bubble. The riskiest thing I’ll *have* to do is refuel at gas pumps, but I can pick gas stations that seem less crowded, refuel in smaller towns rather than busy highway rest areas, and go at quieter times of day.
Does your van have air conditioning? Nope! Well, it has the standard vehicle AC, but that only works while the van is running, and most of the time I’ll be parked. There are AC units that can go on top of campers and vans, but they use a ton of power: either you have to be plugged in to shore power at a campground, use a gas-powered generator, or have a million solar panels and batteries. I’m going to get a good roof vent and fan installed, plus maybe put some smaller battery-powered fans in the windows, so that will hopefully keep me from getting heatstroke in the summer.
Does it have running water? Nope! Right now, I have a portable foot-pump sink and a self-contained portable toilet. I plan to eventually build a nicer/bigger sink. I’m also going to order a collapsible tub so I can do sponge baths or use a solar shower (a black vinyl bag that heats up in the sun and has a hose attached). Swimming in freshwater lakes will need to become a bigger part of my life. I’ll probably be a little stinky at times, but people should be social distancing anyway, so if anyone can smell me, they’re way too close.
Does it have electricity? It will! I’m planning to have one large solar panel and a lithium battery installed. (For those who are curious, it’s a 315 watt solar panel with a 100 AH battery.) This will power the roof fan, my laptop, my phone, some plug-in lights, and eventually also built-in lights, the cell phone signal booster, and maybe a small fridge or cooler. The solar power system is going to outlast the van and will be easily switchable to my next vehicle.
Wait. “Maybe” a fridge? What are you going to eat? Ummm… I’ll figure it out? I eat like a scavenging raccoon, so I’m not too picky. I bought a bunch of freeze-dried legume-based soup and stew mixes from Harmony House, some high-protein shake mix from Huel, and I plan to stock rice, quinoa, peanut butter, oatmeal, hard cheese, packaged salmon and tuna, and dried fruit. If I’m driving, I’ll probably also keep an eye out for farm stands and grab some produce that will keep unrefrigerated for a few days. During the pandemic, I’ve been using support for local businesses as a way of justifying takeout or delivery once or twice a week, so I’ll probably keep doing that when I pass through developed areas.
Can you poop in your van? Does it smell? Yes to the first! I haven’t, um, tested it out yet. But after road trip in my sedan in May, when I had to go into a scary (no one wearing masks or social distancing) gas station in Colorado Springs, bathroom and hand-washing facilities for the van became a priority. Right now the portable toilet is just sort of hanging out in the open, but I’m going to build a plywood box to contain it. I did pee in it a bunch during my inaugural camping trip, and I’m happy to report that the chemicals I added to the tank made it not smell gross while also not producing an overwhelming chemical smell.
How will you get the internet? Unlimited data plan FTW! I recently figured out that I can use my phone as a mobile hotspot and connect to it with my laptop. It’s not fast, but it’ll do what I need it to. And I should be able to have connectivity even in more remote areas after I get a signal booster.
Won’t you get tired of living in a tiny space? Maybe. I do have some good practice, though. In the last decade, I’ve gone from living in a 700-square-foot condo (Denver) to a 400-ish-square-foot studio apartment (New Jersey; grad school) to my childhood room in my parents’ house (Maryland; post-grad-school student loan debt). Each time, I’ve gotten rid of stuff, even things it’s painful to get rid of: old books, childhood knickknacks, cassette tapes, drawings, horse show ribbons I remember winning, cutlery and glassware I got as housewarming gifts.
I also tend to feel really at home in my car. I’ve napped in my car, drafted novels in my car, had long and meaningful conversations in my car, had existential crises in my car, eaten hundreds of meals in my car. Car = house makes sense to me. And I hope to be staying in places where I have access to big and engaging outdoor spaces.
What will you do after you live in a van for a while? I have no idea. There are definitely things that I want to do — write fiction, build my career, be more involved with community/communities, get healthier, be a better human — but all of those things are geographically nonspecific. And everything both personally and nationally feels so up in the air. I could end up living in a van for a year, or five, or ten. I might eventually buy a house or a boat or a farm, or settle down somewhere (I don’t know where) in a more permanent way. But I’m not making plans for any of that, and I’m not making plans for an “after.”
I think that’s it for the FAQ! If you have any questions, let me know and I will address them in a later LFAQ (Less Frequently Asked Questions).
Also, please bear with me because I don’t really know how Tumblr works. If you want to start reading, start FROM THE BOTTOM.

Tips To Save Money & Energy
10 Easy Ways to Save Money & Energy in Your Home
Most people don’t know how easy it is to make their homes run on less energy, and, we want to change that.
Drastic reductions in heating, cooling and electricity costs can be accomplished through very simple changes, most of which homeowners can do themselves. Of course, for homeowners who want to take advantage of the most up-to-date knowledge and systems in home energy efficiency, InterNACHI energy auditors can perform in-depth testing to find the best energy solutions for your particular home.
Why make your home more energy efficient? Here are a few good reasons:
Federal, state, utility and local jurisdictions' financial incentives, such as tax breaks, are very advantageous for homeowners in most parts of the U.S.
It saves money. It costs less to power a home that has been converted to be more energy-efficient.
It increases the comfort level indoors.
It reduces our impact on climate change. Many scientists now believe that excessive energy consumption contributes significantly to global warming.
It reduces pollution. Conventional power production introduces pollutants that find their way into the air, soil and water supplies.
1. Find better ways to heat and cool your house.
As much as half of the energy used in homes goes toward heating and cooling. The following are a few ways that energy bills can be reduced through adjustments to the heating and cooling systems:
Install a ceiling fan. Ceiling fans can be used in place of air conditioners, which require a large amount of energy.
Periodically replace air filters in air conditioners and heaters.
Set thermostats to an appropriate temperature. Specifically, they should be turned down at night and when no one is home. In most homes, about 2% of the heating bill will be saved for each degree that the thermostat is lowered for at least eight hours each day. Turning down the thermostat from 75° F to 70° F, for example, saves about 10% on heating costs.
Install a programmable thermostat. A programmable thermostat saves money by allowing heating and cooling appliances to be automatically turned down during times that no one is home and at night. Programmable thermostats contain no mercury and, in some climate zones, can save up to $150 per year in energy costs.
Install a wood stove or a pellet stove. These are more efficient sources of heat than furnaces.
At night, curtains drawn over windows will better insulate the room.
2. Install a tankless water heater.
Demand-type water heaters (tankless or instantaneous) provide hot water only as it is needed. They don't produce the standby energy losses associated with traditional storage water heaters, which will save on energy costs. Tankless water heaters heat water directly without the use of a storage tank. When a hot water tap is turned on, cold water travels through a pipe into the unit. A gas burner or an electric element heats the water. As a result, demand water heaters deliver a constant supply of hot water. You don't need to wait for a storage tank to fill up with enough hot water.
3. Replace incandescent lights.
The average household dedicates 11% of its energy budget to lighting. Traditional incandescent lights convert approximately only 10% of the energy they consume into light, while the rest becomes heat. The use of new lighting technologies, such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), can reduce the energy use required by lighting by 50% to 75%. Advances in lighting controls offer further energy savings by reducing the amount of time that lights are on but not being used. Here are some facts about CFLs and LEDs:
CFLs use 75% less energy and last about 10 times longer than traditional incandescent bulbs.
LEDs last even longer than CFLs and consume less energy.
LEDs have no moving parts and, unlike CFLs, they contain no mercury.
4. Seal and insulate your home.
Sealing and insulating your home is one of the most cost-effective ways to make a home more comfortable and energy-efficient, and you can do it yourself. A tightly sealed home can improve comfort and indoor air quality while reducing utility bills. An InterNACHI energy auditor can assess  leakage in the building envelope and recommend fixes that will dramatically increase comfort and energy savings.
The following are some common places where leakage may occur:
electrical receptacles/outlets;
mail slots;
around pipes and wires;
wall- or window-mounted air conditioners;
attic hatches;
fireplace dampers;
inadequate weatherstripping around doors;
baseboards;
window frames; and
switch plates.
Because hot air rises, air leaks are most likely to occur in the attic. Homeowners can perform a variety of repairs and maintenance to their attics that save them money on cooling and heating, such as:
Plug the large holes. Locations in the attic where leakage is most likely to be the greatest are where walls meet the attic floor, behind and under attic knee walls, and in dropped-ceiling areas.
Seal the small holes. You can easily do this by looking for areas where the insulation is darkened. Darkened insulation is a result of dusty interior air being filtered by insulation before leaking through small holes in the building envelope. In cold weather, you may see frosty areas in the insulation caused by warm, moist air condensing and then freezing as it hits the cold attic air. In warmer weather, you’ll find water staining in these same areas. Use expanding foam or caulk to seal the openings around plumbing vent pipes and electrical wires. Cover the areas with insulation after the caulk is dry.
Seal up the attic access panel with weatherstripping. You can cut a piece of fiberglass or rigid foamboard insulation in the same size as the attic hatch and glue it to the back of the attic access panel. If you have pull-down attic stairs or an attic door, these should be sealed in a similar manner.
5. Install efficient showerheads and toilets.
The following systems can be installed to conserve water usage in homes:
low-flow showerheads. They are available in different flow rates, and some have a pause button which shuts off the water while the bather lathers up;
low-flow toilets. Toilets consume 30% to 40% of the total water used in homes, making them the biggest water users. Replacing an older 3.5-gallon toilet with a modern, low-flow 1.6-gallon toilet can reduce usage an average of 2 gallons-per-flush (GPF), saving 12,000 gallons of water per year. Low-flow toilets usually have "1.6 GPF" marked on the bowl behind the seat or inside the tank;
vacuum-assist toilets. This type of toilet has a vacuum chamber that uses a siphon action to suck air from the trap beneath the bowl, allowing it to quickly fill with water to clear waste. Vacuum-assist toilets are relatively quiet; and
dual-flush toilets. Dual-flush toilets have been used in Europe and Australia for years and are now gaining in popularity in the U.S. Dual-flush toilets let you choose between a 1-gallon (or less) flush for liquid waste, and a 1.6-gallon flush for solid waste. Dual-flush 1.6-GPF toilets reduce water consumption by an additional 30%.
6. Use appliances and electronics responsibly.
Appliances and electronics account for about 20% of household energy bills in a typical U.S. home. The following are tips that will reduce the required energy of electronics and appliances:
Refrigerators and freezers should not be located near the stove, dishwasher or heat vents, or exposed to direct sunlight. Exposure to warm areas will force them to use more energy to remain cool.
Computers should be shut off when not in use. If unattended computers must be left on, their monitors should be shut off. According to some studies, computers account for approximately 3% of all energy consumption in the United States.
Use efficient ENERGY STAR-rated appliances and electronics. These devices, approved by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Program, include TVs, home theater systems, DVD players, CD players, receivers, speakers, and more. According to the EPA, if just 10% of homes used energy-efficient appliances, it would reduce carbon emissions by the equivalent of 1.7 million acres of trees.
Chargers, such as those used for laptops and cell phones, consume energy when they are plugged in. When they are not connected to electronics, chargers should be unplugged.
Laptop computers consume considerably less electricity than desktop computers.
7. Install daylighting as an alternative to electrical lighting.
Daylighting is the practice of using natural light to illuminate the home's interior. It can be achieved using the following approaches:
skylights. It’s important that they be double-pane or they may not be cost-effective. Flashing skylights correctly is key to avoiding leaks;
light shelves. Light shelves are passive devices designed to bounce light deep into a building. They may be interior or exterior. Light shelves can introduce light into a space up to 2½ times the distance from the floor to the top of the window, and advanced light shelves may introduce four times that amount;
clerestory windows.  Clerestory windows are short, wide windows set high on the wall. Protected from the summer sun by the roof overhang, they allow winter sun to shine through for natural lighting and warmth; and
light tubes.  Light tubes use a special lens designed to amplify low-level light and reduce light intensity from the midday sun. Sunlight is channeled through a tube coated with a highly reflective material, and then enters the living space through a diffuser designed to distribute light evenly.
8. Insulate windows and doors.
About one-third of the home's total heat loss usually occurs through windows and doors. The following are ways to reduce energy lost through windows and doors:
Seal all window edges and cracks with rope caulk. This is the cheapest and simplest option.
Windows can be weatherstripped with a special lining that is inserted between the window and the frame. For doors, apply weatherstripping around the whole perimeter to ensure a tight seal when they're closed. Install quality door sweeps on the bottom of the doors, if they aren't already in place.
Install storm windows at windows with only single panes. A removable glass frame can be installed over an existing window.
If existing windows have rotted or damaged wood, cracked glass, missing putty, poorly fitting sashes, or locks that don't work, they should be repaired or replaced.
9. Cook smart.
An enormous amount of energy is wasted while cooking. The following recommendations and statistics illustrate less wasteful ways of cooking:
Convection ovens are more efficient that conventional ovens. They use fans to force hot air to circulate more evenly, thereby allowing food to be cooked at a lower temperature. Convection ovens use approximately 20% less electricity than conventional ovens.
Microwave ovens consume approximately 80% less energy than conventional ovens.
Pans should be placed on the matching size heating element or flame.
Using lids on pots and pans will heat food more quickly than cooking in uncovered pots and pans.
Pressure cookers reduce cooking time dramatically.
When using conventional ovens, food should be placed on the top rack. The top rack is hotter and will cook food faster.
10. Change the way you do laundry.
Do not use the medium setting on your washer. Wait until you have a full load of clothes, as the medium setting saves less than half of the water and energy used for a full load.
Avoid using high-temperature settings when clothes are not very soiled. Water that is 140° F uses far more energy than 103° F for the warm-water setting, but 140° F isn’t that much more effective for getting clothes clean.
Clean the lint trap every time before you use the dryer. Not only is excess lint a fire hazard, but it will prolong the amount of time required for your clothes to dry.
If possible, air-dry your clothes on lines and racks.
Spin-dry or wring clothes out before putting them into a dryer.
Homeowners who take the initiative to make these changes usually discover that the energy savings are more than worth the effort. InterNACHI home inspectors can make this process much easier because they can perform a more comprehensive assessment of energy-savings potential than the average homeowner can.

iPhone Battery Repair - Know Your Rights As Apple's Customers
Cell phones have grown from being communication tools to a hot fad of the current generation. Everyone, regardless of age or financial standing, owns or wants to own one. With the rapid development in technology, a cellphone is fast becoming a replacement for the computer. From iPhone, Used Phones San Antonio, to iPad, the list of state of the art smartphones is endless. This increased variety has given users a range of prices to choose from, so more and more people own their cellphones — the increased ownership results in an increased number of damages. Cellular phone repair has become an industry in itself.
Cellphone repair shops are present everywhere now, but people prefer to replace their damaged or malfunctioning cell phone rather than getting it repaired. Here's why cellphone repair is the best option.
Cell Phone Repair -- Quick Fix & No Fuss
1♦ Same Day Repairs
When your phone breaks, you don't want it fixed tomorrow you need it fixed today.
2♦ Low Price Guarantee
Repairing beats replacing, and we beat all other phone repair companies with a guaranteed lowest price and speedy, professional service.
3♦ Superior Warranty
Stronger than any phone case, we offer the most reliable warranty on the market.
Cell Phone Repair services offer an option to send in your broken phone and return your phone to you fixed and ready to use. The importance of immediate customer service should be a top priority for whichever repair service you are dealing with them. An ideal repair service will make sure that your electronics receive the careful service they deserve as well as providing you with quick turn-around time.
At times, it is easier to call a Cell Phone Store to have your questions answered regarding your phone. More often than not, it is cheaper, more accessible and less of a pain to have your phone fixed as opposed to canceling or signing a new contract.
Cost
A new mobile phone will cost more than getting your damaged phone repaired. Phone Repair Near Me is a cost-effective option but might take you more time than getting a new one. Still, it is better to get your broken phone fixed rather than paying a lot of money for a new device.
Data loss
Getting a new phone means you would have to transfer the data present in your broken phone to the new one. Since your phone is malfunctioning or damaged, you will experience a loss of data. Going for cell phone repair is a good option as repair stores can get your broken phone fixed, as well as recover and retain all the data you have in your phone.
Environment
The more the number of mobile phones used, the more the environment is damaged. Cell phones create radiation and heat and add to the problem of global warming. Getting a new phone means you add to the number of mobile phones already in use. Cellphone repair is the environment-friendly option. No further harm is caused to the environment because of this. If your phone gets damaged or broken, visit a cell phone repair store rather than buying a new one!
Cell Phone Repair - Repairing Mobile Devices Can Be Your Best Option
More people today are opting to try iPhone Glass Repair San Antonio when technical problems arise, or minor damage occurs instead of purchasing a new one. Minor phone repair jobs are not that difficult to fix, such as water damage, clogged headphone jacks or cracked LCD screens. Some jobs will require the services of a cell phone technician to complete the repair; other breaks can often be done at home using step by step guides found on the Internet. Fixing your mobile phone whenever possible will more than likely cost you much less than purchasing a new one and it would be to your advantage to check out repair options before deciding.
Does A Manufacturer's Warranty Cover Cell Phone Repair?
One thing to remember is that most cell phones come with a warranty for a limited amount of time and in the event, it stops working within that time frame; you can take it back and see if the problem is covered under your warranty. If so, the manufacturer will either repair your piece for free under warranty or have it replaced. Either way, the cost factor will be covered without your having to foot the bill.
These are just a few tips on how to handle repairs for your cellular phone when needed. Additional information and guidance can be found by checking out websites on the subject at your convenience.

If you are still considering signing a new contract for a phone, it is a good idea to know how to get out of the deal, should you have the need to. The majority of cellular companies will not hesitate to fine you once you have decided to terminate the contract. Unfortunately, these fines are known to be as high as several hundred dollars. The phones of today's technology are no longer throwaways and can be successfully repaired. Whether your phone is a Samsung, Apple or Blackberry and has suffered water damage or in need of a new digitizer or charger port, your device can be fixed quickly- so you can go back to living.
youtube
There are plenty of disadvantages in signing a new contract for the cellular phone, and the deal should not be taken lightly. If you are still considering entering a new contract, consider researching before signing that dotted line. Consider your cancellation options, the trial period, taxes and fees that are not made manifest, overage fees, messaging and data services, roaming charges and the opportunity to upgrade your device. If you are lucky enough to be offered a limited trial period, then you may be able to cancel your contract and not pay any penalty fees.
It is the best choice to consider a repair company who will save you time, money and a headache. Many repair services can repair a variety of devices including Androids. Finding the repair service that is perfect for you is as easy as a phone call or click away.
Many things in life happen in a split second, unfortunately damaging your cell phone is one of them. All it takes is one second of bad judgment to watch your cell phone fall out of your pocket and into the toilet. Or one second to grab something off the shelf and knock your phone into the kitchen sink. It also only takes one second to drop your cell phone on the ground.
It is why when it comes down to getting your Used Iphone San Antonio you not only want to make sure that it is by someone that you trust and can afford, but also by a repair agency that can have your phone promptly returned to you in a matter of days or possibly hours. With so many large providers now using mail-in policies the best way to approach the subject of phone repair if you want your phone returned quickly is to find an alternative repair method that offers quick service options.

Happy Earth Day 2022 ! Don’t Recycle. By Marammatwala (Right 2 Repair).
Do Mother Nature a big favor today: don’t recycle your broken electronics. We all grew up with the old mantra: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—your checklist for sustainable living. But recycling is the final item on that list for a reason. When it comes to electronics, recycling should be the last option. Not the first. In 2021, 1.53 billion smartphones were sold to consumers around the world. By the end of 2022, another 240 million tablets and 207 million PCs were set to be produced and shipped globally. Seamless plastic and sleek aluminum covers belie the messy origins of our favorite gizmos. The laptop on your desk, the cell phone in your back pocket, and the tablet on your nightstand all house within them materials wrested from a reluctant earth—things like cobalt, cadmium, nickel, lead, copper, and gold. A single cell phone, for example, is composed of between 500 to 1,000 different components—some sourced from countries that aren’t particularly well-known for safe mining practices, human rights, or environmental standards. As the demand for gadgets increases, so do raw material extraction rates. From 2013 to 2021, iron ore production has increased by 180%, cobalt by 165%, and lithium by 125%. Every year, mining operations have to go deeper into the earth, producing more waste for less raw materials. Copper ore deposits, for example, are only one-tenth the purity of the ore mined 100 years ago. Mining and producing just an ounce of gold creates approximately 80 tons of waste. No matter what manufacturers try to tell you, there is no such thing as a green electronic. Despite the vast investment to build them, modern gizmos are notoriously disposable. Cell phones have an average lifespan of just 18 months. Laptops and tablets with sealed-in batteries lose their capacity to fully charge after only a couple of years. The irresistible lure of faster, newer, sleeker devices hastens the path from cradle to grave—including the gaping maw of a recycler’s shredder. And that’s an incredible waste of resources, because as much as 70 percent of the energy that a laptop uses in its lifetime is consumed during the manufacturing process. All of that energy is lost when a device is shredded. Worse, many of the components—including rare earth elements—cannot be recovered during recycling. You cannot make a new laptop from a recycled laptop; recycling is always-already operating at a resource loss. Yes, recycling recovers many component elements and returns them to the resource stream—albeit at a lesser quality than virgin materials. And yes, recycling is much less bad than tossing an old cell phone into the trash. But, when it comes to the environment, it’s time to stop being “less bad ”; it’s time to start being good. Marammatwala (Right 2 Repair) is better than Recycling. Way better. Marammatwala (Right 2 Repair) extends the life of electronics. It keeps things out of landfills, and out of shredders. Every cell phone repaired is one less that needs to be manufactured. Every laptop saved from the shredder lessens the strain on already overtaxed finite resources. Every computer upgraded can go on to a second, third, or even a fourth user before it really needs to be recycled. So, this Earth Day, don’t drop off your broken phone or your old computer at the corner e-waste drive. Repair it at Marammatwala (Right 2 Repair). Then keep using it, or give it away. And know that you’ve done something real, something tangible in the fight for a resource-effective future. Reduce. Reuse. Repair. Then recycle.

Riot
"Riot"
Intro:
Police Sirens....etc.
Sounds of people running an panting
Voice over....run-smash-n-grab, nike or converse, denim or plaid, run-smash-n-grab-run
Uprising, riot, riot, riot
or is it just a loot, loot, loot, lootfest
uprising, riot, riot, riot
or is it just a loot, loot, loot, lootfest
are we proud of our society
or trapped by our destiny
is peace-n-prosperity just a mirage
a pot on every stove an two cars in tha garage
pawn shop, liquor store, liquor store, gun dealers
U16 drug runners an street corner preachers
abandoned car seat for a bed
school feels like society's slap upside the head
smash-n-grab before ya dead
no authority has street cred
rubber, armor piercing, hollow point
whiz by the corner beer joint
buy a forty
don't worry
smoke a spliff
let your mind drift
will there be more days
there must be better ways
build another prison
embrace fear abandon reason
anticipate war in each-n-every season
tis the season to be wary
broken glass, rubbish, crumpled concrete strewn streets are dreary
Uprising, riot, riot, riot
or is it just a loot, loot, loot, lootfest
uprising, riot, riot, riot
or is it just a loot, loot, loot, lootfest
don't have an ideology, don't wanna a revolution
don't care about greenhouse gases, climate change or pollution
just wanna burn it down
girlfriend wants new sneakers, $100 shorts an a ballroom gown
cell phone, ipod, nike, laptop
smash-n-grab at all the right shops
the abandoned class gainst the ruling caste
mob mentality vs. systemic brutality
meth, coke, crack-cocaine, heroine
street prescription to dull or kill the pain
prozac, paxil, lithium
establishment solution to the tedium
church, mosque, temple
majestic cathedral
which are full which are empty
what's the fate of society
what's the future of those not yet twenty
what's the retiring generation's legacy
Uprising, riot, riot, riot
or is it just a loot, loot, loot, lootfest
uprising, riot, riot, riot
or is it just a loot, loot, loot, lootfest
He's not interested in anarchy
he's dreaming of being the next Jay-Z
he's not joining the lootfest
he's preparing for his midnight gun-test
educated in the penitentiary
gonna write songs be the next Jay-Z
or the next Kanye West
he's not joining the lootfest
he's a man with a plan
his girlfriend wants a tan
gun runner pops the trunk
prison graduate who couldn't dunk
purchases tools of the trade
buying utensils for a midnight raid
got his ticket for his occupation option
baby mother put his kid up for adoption
21st century global dream
part of the street pharmacy team
wrote a tune about it, gonna be the next Jay-Z
posh crib, car-n-chick, gonna get right fancy
it's just a beginning a stepping stone society's test
perhaps he'll be the next Kanye West
he wanna be a billionaire
jet here an there, above it all in the upper atmosphere
hoping he'll forget the street level despair
societies too broken to repair
no justice, nothing is fair
despite what anyone says, no one really cares
it's a tear down an rebuild
plans to enjoy his view from his marble window sill
pops in another anti-anxiety pill
after the raid gonna be a star
on his marble window sill there'll be no bars
Uprising, riot, riot, riot
or is it just a loot, loot, loot, lootfest
uprising, riot, riot, riot
or is it just a loot, loot, loot, lootfest
learned his craft from his prison opportunity
feeling lucky he went to an ivy league penitentiary
the prison block his college dormitory
three square meals a day, shelter, an all the relevant information
that school was his best education
where would he an his peers be
without the opportunity to go to a highly selective penitentiary
he wants to be the next Jay-Z
or the next Kanye West
if he survives the midnight gun fest
while the kids on the block burn-n-loot
in the prison he learned to purchase point-n-shoot
now knows how to make the big decisions
feeling grateful for all those prisons
what type of weaponry is right for this mission
gun runner pops the trunk
first rate tools this shit ain't no junk
what's required glock, uzi, or AK
what's he need to see another day
he likes the M-16 an a few of those Kalashnikovs
make sure the others, not his, head gets blown off
when the dust settles an the smoke clears
he'll shop for that marble window sill in malibu or perhaps bel-air
from being nobody to somebody to be
he wants to be the next Jay-Z
or the next Kanye West
just has to survive the midnight gun fest
just has to survive the midnight gun fest
just has to survive the midnight gun fest
Outro:
