Honestly I didn't give a shit about the whole brothel thing with Astarion up until some people the fandom started to constantly gaslight others about it. On one hand, they will say that of course it's fine not to take him there if you or your Tav aren't comfortable with something like this but on another hand they will very subtly (sometimes directly) shame you for not making that choice since they won't ever shut up about how very excited he is to try this, that we shouldn't treat him like a child and ignore his wishes and act as if he's made of glass. That somehow we are the bad ones for controlling and infantilising him when this literally doesn't happen???? They actually act as if he's out there at camp pestering Tav about doing orgies and going to that place when he literally doesn't ask for any of this unless Tav agrees to it in the brothel. Anyway I just can't take them seriously anymore, sure, do the orgy if that's your thing or your Tav legitimately thinks it's going to be a good thing for Astarion since they can't know about the outcome beforehand but let's not freak out every time someone criticizes Larian's writing on this part of the game or pretend that we want to take your orgy out of the game just because we criticized it.

Assuming SA survivor wouldn't cope well with orgies isn't infantilizing.
