Girls are saved, Girls are educated but where's her dignity!
"Save Girl, Educate Girl" campaign, "Daughter is our proud" slogan, Women's day celebration - But nothing will be changed if girls life is only for the marriage. One in five underage girls and one in six boys are still getting married before the age of 18 (Now the legal age is 21), according to a Lancet Global Health study, despite the fact that the frequency of child marriage in India decreased from 49.4% in 1993 to 22.3% in 2021. More than 13.4 million women between the ages of 20 and 24 were reportedly pushed into marriage as children by 2021, according to research estimates. Lead author Jewel Gausman, a research associate at Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health, stated in the school's news release that "child marriage is a human rights violation." A number of negative health outcomes are both a cause and an effect of social and economic vulnerability. We saw a state or union territory's stall in achieving zero child marriage, which is cause for grave concern and a demand for India to rekindle progress. West Bengal recorded the greatest increase in child weddings in the nation, with over 500,000 girls getting married at an early age, compared to Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state, which showed the largest decline in child marriages between 1993 and 2021. In contrast, Manipur, Goa, and Gujarat were unable to stop the rise in underage marriages (among boys) between 2006 and 2021. "The historical implementation of programs to address child marriage has varied across and within states, given that state governments tend to enact social sector policy in India," the researchers stated. In the last eight years, six Indian states reported a higher rate of child marriage in girls than the other 22 states, despite strict laws against this practice. "States that presently have a high burden and prevalence of child marriage, such Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Rajasthan, should receive special attention. They said, "Child marriages have long-term effects on fertility, health, and mortality patterns that negatively impact the population's well-being and the economy." While some research indicates that minimum marriage age laws have a positive impact on lowering the incidence of child marriage in nations that have enacted them, others contend that these laws are difficult to enforce, particularly in remote and difficult-to-reach areas or in situations where other authorities, such as religious institutions, can perform marriages without government oversight, ultimately having little effect. Furthermore, laws prohibiting child marriage might not be properly enforced, which would lessen their impact, they continued.

Did Shiva have any daughters?
Yes Shiva has at least two daughters, described in Shiva Mahapurana (Rudra Sanhita, Sati Khanda), Padma Mahapurana, and other Shastras, and worshipped in Hindu communities.
Shiva’s best-known daughter is Ashokasundari, also named Bala Tripurasundari, Lavanya, Anvi, and Viraja. She is a Goddess of trees, gardens, harmony, devotion, beauty, the alleviation of sorrow, and also Goddess of salt. She is also associated with Kinnara spirits. She is especially worshipped in Gujarat and neighboring areas, where various Vratas are observed in her honor. She married a mortal man, and had a hundred daughters and one son.
She is also widely worshipped in South India as Bala Tripurasundari. We worship her in my local temple, and I have also seen her being worshipped in temples in Tamil Nadu. My Guru also teaches about her, and she appears in various Shakta scriptures of the Shrikula tradition. The charming story is told of her that when she was only a small child (six or nine years old I think, I forget the exact number), her mother Lalita Tripurasundari was preparing to go to war against an army of thousands of demons. Little Bala insisted that she was fully educated in the arts of war and she wanted to come fight too. Her reluctant mother eventually allowed Bala to fight in the battle, where this brilliant divine fireball of a little girl fiercely slew thirty demons.
Another daughter of Shiva is Jyoti, also known as Jwalamukhi (Blazing Face) Rayaki, and Raka, Goddess of light, grace, and the full moon. She is worshipped in many temples in Tamil Nadu as well as North India. I have seen her temples in Nepal. She is worshipped as Raka in the Vedas.
Some (particularly in Bengal) say that the Goddess Manasa is a daughter of Shiva. However the Shastras contradict this, and I personally do not believe it. I actually have my own theory about where this idea started.

India is facing a severe public health challenge, with more than 50% of children under the age of five suffering from acute malnutrition in some form. The latest data from the **National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5)** highlights the grim reality of child malnutrition, which manifests in conditions such as stunting, wasting, underweight, and micronutrient deficiencies. These indicators not only threaten the health of millions but also jeopardize the country’s developmental future. The Extent of the Problem 1. Prevalence of Malnutrition: - Wasting (severe thinness due to weight loss) affects 19.3% of children. - Stunting (low height for age, indicating chronic malnutrition) impacts 35.5% of children. - Underweight (low weight for age) affects 32.1% of children under five. - Anaemia affects 67.1% of children, an alarming rise compared to previous years. 2. Regional Disparities: States like Maharashtra and Gujarat report the highest number of severely wasted children, while Uttar Pradesh and Assam have seen increasing malnutrition rates over recent years. In contrast, states like Haryana and Puducherry have shown improvement in nutrition indicators.  Causes Behind Acute Malnutrition Several factors contribute to this widespread crisis: 1. Poverty and Food Insecurity: Many families cannot afford or access a balanced diet, leading to chronic nutritional deficiencies. 2.Lack of Awareness: Low levels of education, especially among mothers, result in inadequate feeding practices and poor nutrition during critical developmental years. 3. Poor Sanitation and Hygiene: Unsafe water and lack of sanitation expose children to infections, reducing nutrient absorption. 4.Inadequate Healthcare Services: Limited access to quality healthcare for maternal and child health further exacerbates malnutrition rates. 5. Gender Inequality: Socio-cultural practices often deprive girl children of equitable food and healthcare, worsening malnutrition in female children. Long-Term Impact Malnutrition among children under five has far-reaching consequences: -Physical and Cognitive Development: Stunting and wasting hinder physical growth and brain development, affecting educational outcomes and earning potential. - Health Risks: Malnourished children face higher risks of infections and mortality. - Economic Burden: Malnutrition imposes a significant financial strain on families and the nation, reducing productivity and increasing healthcare costs. --- Steps Toward a Solution While India has implemented programs like Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Poshan Abhiyaan, their reach and effectiveness remain limited. Addressing malnutrition requires: - Strengthening maternal and child nutrition programs. - Promoting dietary diversity and micronutrient supplementation. - Enhancing sanitation and hygiene infrastructure. - Expanding access to quality healthcare services in rural areas. - Launching community-driven awareness campaigns on nutrition. --- Acute malnutrition among children under five years poses a grave challenge to India’s health and socio-economic development. Immediate, multi-sectoral interventions are needed to combat this crisis. By addressing root causes and improving service delivery, India can work towards a healthier and brighter future for its children. Causes of vaginal bleeding after sex - Causes of vaginal bleeding after sex
Apart from sex taboo, it is a kind of mental bankruptcy that people still associate bleeding after sex with virginity. Whereas sometimes this situation can be so dangerous that the girl may lose her life. On September 22, a case came to light from Navsari district of Gujarat, which has proved how important sex education is. A 23-year-old girl died due to post intercourse bleeding in Navsari…

Youth and Politics!
A significant number of individuals have come together to demonstrate the strength of community and unity amid the speech conflict between two communities in Gujarat. Where have all these vibrant social groups disappeared to when the region needed them? There are numerous problems when powerful individuals use their position to silence the voice of the common man. Newspaper report many such cases and many not under the influence. A hit and run case driver flees from the spot and police do not register complaint. It’s obvious that that individual won’t be able to fight to the system but where all these unity are not available that time. There’s a report regarding teasing to school girls while going to the schools and no man come forward to help.  If citizen want development, they need to be aware of the issues that affect humanity. Its pity that youth are more interested in power, influence and footage and they find the platform in political parties campaign. I remind my report as a part of the leading newspaper’s taste drive. The students from renowned colleges in my city were unaware about state education minister, home minister and women and child development minister is far thing. They even were unaware about the candidate from their area and they are excited about voting. We talk a lot about youth and politics but how many young people are there who actually notice every data, action and news! Women leadership we talk a lot but I can name only two women Mrs. Maneka Gandhi and Mrs. Nirmala Sitaraman as a great leader. Is there any fair opportunity for the rest of the women who are doing their best in women empowerment! 33% reservation is for the influential women more or less. Youth and politics does not mean youth in politics. It means awareness among youth and aware youth who can think and write about nation facing the issue. I wish 2024 will change the scenario.

NAVRATRI / MAA DURGA PUJA
Navratri and Durga Puja are two major Hindu festivals celebrated with great enthusiasm across India, though their significance and style of celebration vary across regions.
Navratri, meaning "Nine Nights," is a festival dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga in her nine forms. It typically spans nine days and nights and occurs twice a year – Chaitra Navratri (spring) and Sharad Navratri (autumn). The autumn Navratri is more widely celebrated and culminates in Dussehra or Vijayadashami, marking the victory of good over evil.
The chief deity adorned on these days is the feminine principle of the divinity. Therefore, all the forms of Mother Goddesses are heralded, worshiped and adorned on these days. Called as Shakti, the female energy represents the universe, while Shiva represents the consciousness or soul.
Maa Durga is the ultimate source of power who takes care of the entire universe and feeds it. The Navratri festival glorifies the eternal power of Durga and seeks her blessing and protection. As per the legend, there was a demon called Mahishasura who was a terror to all the three worlds.
As per the boons he had received, he could not be killed by any gods, humans or demons except the feminine energy, which he underestimated to be insufficient to vanquish him. To save all the worlds from his captivity, Mother Durga, assumed a terrific form and waged a war against him for nine days and killed him on the tenth day. The word Durga also means the power which destroys misery and sufferings.
A Sanskrit verse heralds Mother Durga as “Durga Dhurgati Nashini”, the one who destroys afflictions. Worshipping Mother Durga on these nine days is said to confer joy, prosperity, wealth, hope, wisdom, success and lasting happiness.
The Navratri festival is a sort of refreshing and recharging one. Homes, educational institutions, businesses and organizations clean their premises and conduct pujas and worship on these nine days.
Some of the key Aspects:
Goddess Worship: Each of the nine days is dedicated to a different avatar of Durga (Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, etc.).
Fasting and Rituals: Devotees observe fasts and perform daily pujas (prayers) with offerings of flowers, fruits, and sweets.
Garba and Dandiya Raas: In Gujarat and Maharashtra, it is celebrated with dance forms like Garba and Dandiya Raas, which are performed in groups, with people wearing colorful traditional attire.
Kanya Pujan: On the eighth or ninth day, young girls are honored as embodiments of the goddess and offered food and gifts.
Dussehra: The tenth day symbolizes the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana or Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura.
Durga Puja celebration :
Durga Puja, particularly prominent in West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, and Bihar, celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. It typically spans five days (Shashthi, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, and Dashami) but preparation and celebrations can last longer.
Some of the key Aspects:
Idol Worship: Elaborate pandals (temporary structures) house stunning idols of Durga, along with her children (Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha, and Kartikeya). Devotees visit these pandals to offer prayers and seek blessings.
Cultural Festivities: Durga Puja is not just a religious event but also a cultural extravaganza. Traditional dances, plays, music performances, and art exhibitions form an integral part of the celebration.
Anjali and Sindoor Khela: Devotees offer Pushpanjali (flower offerings) on Ashtami, and on Dashami, married women apply sindoor (vermillion) on each other as part of Sindoor Khela, symbolizing the goddess's departure to her heavenly abode.
Immersion (Visarjan): The idols are immersed in water bodies, symbolizing Durga's return to Mount Kailash.
While both festivals celebrate the feminine divine and the triumph of good over evil, Navratri tends to have a more pan-Indian presence, while Durga Puja is particularly grand in Eastern India, especially Kolkata. Both festivals bring communities together and inspire a spirit of devotion and joy.
