>Introduced as a wise old mentor who knows all the answers. >Also he can turn invisible.
>Role is like 50% dispensing exposition and 50% bonking Tahu on the head to tell him to stop being a jerk.
>Randomly has a mask that can control time. For some reason. He lends it to Tahu so he can stop six very aggressive roombas.
>Also one time he casually defeated a giant kaiju monster that the Toa Nuva were struggling with and told it that he knew it could remember his voice, I'm sure that's nothing.
>Oh actually it turns out that he's been lying all this time.
>He's not even old, he's like the equivalent of being 35, he just peaked at 26 and had a very stressful week.
>He used to be the leader of the previous generation of Toa from the cyberpunk dystopia city in the past.
>Also he was just. Made of anxiety. Like so much self-esteem issues up in this boy.
>Not to mention the traumatic nightmare visions of the future.
>Spent most of his career as a Toa on the run from the horrifying police robots #acab
>Turns out he made the Mask of Time. For the record, the other two Legendary Masks were made by literal gods, and this schmuck Toa with Gifted Kid Burnout made the last one.
>Him making the Mask of Time has nothing to do with the visions of the future BTW
>All but single-handedly defeated Makuta.
>This was around when he fought the kaiju.
>Also he got turned into an angsty robot werewolf for a bit.
>He turned evil because a lizard dominatrix said so, don't worry, it was the werewolf hormones talking.
>He turned back to normal later and went to fight Makuta again over the Mask of Time.
>He accidentally a war between Makuta and the mafia.
>He played reality-destroying chicken with Makuta in order to abscond with the Mask of Time.
>Then he turned into a pensioner at the ripe old age of 30 (relatively).
>Seriously most of the 'child' characters are older than him by millennia.
>Continues dispensing cryptic advice and having traumatic nightmare visions forever.
Truly the character ever. Of all time.

Jam menunjuk kan jam 8.00 malam aku terus menanti….
Seperti biasa aku menghantarnya pulang.
Tiba-tiba aku bertanya dekat dia, dia pakai bra kaler apa, dia jawab kalau nak tahu carik laaa sendiri. Maka aku pun berusaha untuk mencarinya. Maka bermula laaa aktiviti meraba, memegang, dan me….. .
Aku pun berkata wahhhhh black bra…. Kegemaran ku.. Ida hanya tergelak. Selepas itu aku pun memulakan aktivi perabaan aku. Kali ini aku terus menyeluk kedalam bra ida dan dia terus menghalang aku sekali lagik tapi gagal. Mana leh nak lawan kederat jantan yang ayaq dah naik kepala ? Aku pun terus menggentel putingnya , ida hanya berkata sedappppppp tak lama kemudian cerita tersebut pun habis aku makan malam dengan dia…seperti biasa aku terpaksa menghantar dia balik. Entah macam mana aku tertanya boleh tak aku memegang teteknya sekali lagik. Kali ini dia merelakan dengan bangganya.
Aku tanpa melengahkan masa aku terus meraba ida ….. Ida mengerang bila aku memegang kuat putingnya. Tiba-tiba ida berkata boleh tak pegang kedua-duanya sekali …. Alamak rezeki datang tergolok-golek… Aku pun apa lagik terus memengang kedua-duanya. Ulamakkkkkk lembutnya…..Aku meneruskan aksinya…. Tiba-tiba …… Alamak jam dah pukul sebelas setengah. Aku sepatut menhantarnya pukul 11. Mati laaaa aku.
Lalu aku mencadangkan agar ida lepak sahaja di rumah aku. Mula-mula dia menolak, lepas tu oleh kerana tiada pilihan lain dia menerima…. Yahoooooooooooo aku tersenyum.malam ni boleh ratah daging muda sampai dirumah aku , tiada orang rupanya.bagus tu, line clear. Aku menyuruh dia mandi, dia bersetuju. Selepas mandi Ida masuk kedalam bilik aku hanya memakai tuala dan tshirt sahaja. Owowowwwww aku mula stim.
Pedulik apa, janji aku sedap. Aku pun terus menghayun keluar masuk sehingga aku klimak selepas setengah jam menunggang kuda ida… Aku melepaskan berjuta-juta anak-anak aku dapa cipap ida dan ida pun klimaks diwaktu yang sama. Kami masing-masing puas.
Ida pun terus tertidur dibahu aku aku terbangun jam 3 pagi dan terus menjilat kembalik cipap Ida dan sekali lagik aku belasah ida satu round lagik. Naik lembik ida aku kerjakan Aku pun lembik jugak. Berbagai posisi yang aku ketengahkan, aku sungguh puas.sekali lagik aku lepas kan anak-anak aku didalam cipap ida.
Pukul 7 pagi aku terjaga…. Tiba-tiba aku teringatkan gambir serawak yang aku bawak pulang dari kuching 2 bulan lepas, lalu aku pun berkata why not a try, aku basahkan gambar tersebut dengan sedikit air, lalu aku sapukan pada batang aku. Danterus aku mencari cipap Ida dan sekali lagik aku membelasah ida secukup rasa, ida menjerit kerana sakit yang tidak terhingga, sampai berdarah aku kerjakan, tetapi tak lama kemudian cipap ida menjadi lembab kembali aku terus menghayun dengan ganasnya, ida terus merayu agar aku berhenti….
Aaahhhhh nak buat apo aku tengah sedap ni hampir dua jam aku membelasah ida tanpa henti, aku belum klimaks lagik ida dah naik lembik dahhhhh , cipapnya keluar darah, tapi tak membehayakan, biasa laaaa over used. At last aku terasa nak keluar, omakkkk aiii banyak gila sperm aku yang aku lepaskan dalam cipap ida,aku puas gila.. Ida ? Lembik macam kuih ketayap aku tak pernah main sepuas begitu.
Tapi aku nak pesan kalau kat korang kalau pakai gambir serawak jangan taruk bebanyak, nanti korang yang tak larat, serius aku cakap ni petang tu ida bangun pukul 6 petang sebab tak larat. Cara dia jalan pun tak betul lagik. Tak boleh rapat dia cakap. Aku hanya mampu gelak. Aku pun lepak jugak sebenarnya tapi sajer malas nak tunjuk. Tak macho laaaaaa…. Lepas tu aku hantar ida balikkk yang bestnya ida call aku malam tu…. Dan dia memuji aku. Aku kata kalau nak lagik call dia gelak jer.

Kopaka’s a cat person, Tahu is decidedly NOT, Lewa loves every single creature on Earth… how are the other Toa and Turaga when it comes to cats, dogs and other critters?
Tahu: dog person, but specifically big dogs. The bigger the better. His ideal dog is a small horse. Hates cats.
Gali: neutral on the cats vs dogs debate. Likes both fine enough, but would prefer a giant fish tank that takes up an entire wall or a koi pond. Snail enjoyer.
Lewa: friend to all living things. Has never met an animal he hasn't wanted to pet, including ones that are actively trying to kill him. And fish.
Onua: no strong opinions but used to have an ant farm as a kid. Could definitely be convinced to get something small like a guinea pig pretty easily.
Pohatu: dog person, but also likes cats. He's one of those insane people who likes going jogging in all kinds of weather so taking the dog for a walk has never been an issue for him.
Kopaka: cat person. His grandparents had one when he was a kid and he can't imagine not having one in the house. Spoils his cat rotten. Hates dogs.
Vakama: got bit by a dog once when he was a kid and developed a fear of dogs that it took him several decades to overcome. Is now fine with them but doesn't want one in his house. Neutral about most other animals.
Nokama: likes animals well enough but doesn't want fur all over her house. Lives vicariously through other people's pets.
Matau: wants a snake so bad but all his money is constantly going into his car and motorcycle. Also a bird guy but knows he definitely doesn't have the time to dedicate to bird care.
Onewa: cat person, despite it all. A little annoyed that Krahka only turns into a cat when she's upset. Had to become okay with a lot of animals very quickly when their relationship became serious.
Whenua: more interested in wild animals than in keeping any as pets. Goes on a lot of nature hikes and points out all the signs that certain animals have been there to whatever poor sap got suckered into going with him. Usually Nuju.
Nuju: anything except birds.

I finally read the bionicle story bible and here's the most interesting things I noted from it (I might be forgetting a thing or two)
while the gba game and the cancelled pc game are brought up multiple times, mnog isn't, at least from what I can tell
nokama, nuju, kotu, hewkii, hafu, and jaller all have different names
the turaga were originally called the kahuna
the noble kanohi were called the mortal kanohi and the hau was one while the huna was a great kanohi (this is not a case of name change as the powers they each have are still the same as they are in the final version)
gali and kopaka are said to be twins, the same is also true for onua and pohatu
tahu and lewa are stated to be besties, while the main tension between the toa as a group comes from tahu and gali, rather than tahu and kopaka in the final story
the toa kaita's domains were swapped
the kanohi were considered masks of wisdom rather than of power
the toa's trials to get them were more intellectual and puzzle based
the turaga in general have different characterization than in the final story, some minor, some major
pohatu is described as "slow" and "sure footed" as opposed to the speedster we know
while not outright stated, the text implies that what will become ga koro was situated on an inland lake, rather than the coastal settlement it will become
likewise, onu koro is coastal and may or may not even be underground
rahi as a term does not seem to apply to all of the island's creatures, rather two specific guardian beasts under makuta, the rahi tori (who will become the muaka), and the rahi kahu (later just the kahu, an ally creature to the matoran)
the manas are considered even separate from that
the tarakava were originally conceived as "boxing gorillas" rather than semi-aquatic reptiles
makuta's final form is described as having three heads, a cobra, a tiger, and a hawk
And two big ones (at least for me)
takua is absolutely nowhere to be found in this document, not even a slight hint at their existence
mata nui awakening and being revealed to be a giant robot that they were all living on was originally only the first part of an even bigger plot twist, that being that Mata Nui was only one of six giant robots that had all crash landed on the planet, and that the other five were still out there, comatose in very different environments (obviously this was clearly meant to be a potential way to continue the story if it did well, as it's been known for some time that bionicle's original story was initially only meant to last for one year)
Overall it was a very intriguing read, interesting to see what changed and what remained the same

Have some wolf-paka content + Akamai Hordika homoerotic tension
The thought of Kopaka being just the cuddliest himbo werewoof. Lone wolf as a Toa but once in a blue moon the true Beta-Male genes take hold and he becomes big soft boy.
He does not remember what happens, and Tahu does not realize that the giant wolf boy visiting him and asking for pets is his rival and boyfriend Kopaka, because who could guess that the big woofer that is cuddly and friendly and nice is actually the most introverted asshole on the island.

Man the one thing Bionicle will allways have my respect for is the whole giant robot reveal amd planning, that shit was cool.
Like I never read any books or comics (just watched the movies as a kid lol) and of what I read of the lore I feel iffy, but just that idea alone is legendary
Funny thing is, the movies are actually the single WORST part of the bionicle franchise XD
Not only are the 3 good one, only decent movies at best, but they were made explicitly FOR fans, and fans alone, and has no shame about not telling you stuff because they fully expect the viewer to know all the lore through the books, the comic books, or games.
They are also absolutely terrible in terms of action, as the Toa in pretty much every other medium are stupidly powerfull, with elemental powers easily on level with an avatar state avatar if not beyond, physically capable of lifting over one ton, and as the toa mata estimated during their fights with the Bohrok swarms, while they might ultimately win if they just went all out, they would certainly destroy the island of Mata Nui(about the size of mainland denmark) in the process.
To say the movie toa arent quite on that level is... kinda an understatement XD Not to mention that the comics actually fills in scenes in between cuts in the movies, or just makes actual movie scenes better. It's kinda a mess to follow.
overall, I've always described the Bionicle franchise as the actual Star Wars extended universe. It's a whole mess of in-canon with each other stories, that has a very clear cronological flow, but would have been way better if they just made a tv series that covered the main story(which was basically the only thing bionicle DINDT have).
That said, i can tell you exactly why you think the lore is iffy. It is related one one, single sentence.
"Doing in the wizard".
Doing in the wizard, is a story telling trope, where something that was presented as magical or mystical, is later revealed(wheter it was planned or retconned in later) to actually have a mundane, scientific explanation.
And man, is Bionicle the single WORST example of this trope ever made.
So to explain this, and how it all relates to the series big twist reveal, I need to explain how Bionicle started out, and what it became over time.
Because when it began, Bionicle started out as a myth in the making.
On paper the story of the story of the six toa coming to deliver the land from a great evil is as stock as you get it.
But what made it special from day one, was that it managed to capture the feeling of a deeply spiritual tale, of faith, destiny, and myth.
The story of the six toa coming to deliver Mata Nui and his chosen people is treated, both by the narrative, and the people in it, as a great religious story, with the coming of the six Toa Mata essentially being this universe's coming of christ.
There is a moment in the mata nui online game that really encapsulates this, as when Tahu first meets the Ta-Matorans he is supposed to deliver, they attempt to trap him, and he easily breaks free, but then the fighting is halted as Vakama, the turaga(basically priest king) of the ta-matoran shows up, orders his men to stand down, after which he walks up to Tahu seemingly to talk, only to kneel down before him.
because for him this is basically the equivelant of the coming of christ. the divine prophecy that came from God himself is finally coming true.
Now Bionicle has a lot of things to love, as other than the movies, it has great action, it's characters are generally actual people with flaws and developments, and it has lots of awesome moments, amazing and deep world building that is stupidly thourough, and sweet character moments, and of course one of the biggest twists in fiction... but it is this very religious and spiritual tone that sets Bionicle apart from pretty much... everything else western childrens media has ever made.
It is this deep, unfliching and honest portrayal of a world that feels like a myth come to life that drew so many people to this story when it first came out, what ellevated it over yet another story about good and evil clashing.
The people in this story feel real, not only because they generally have actual character(some way more than others), but because they Believe in their world. as in, they believe in Mata Nui, his tennants, his story, and the six saviors he promised would come to deliver them and wake up their god.
this is how you create a real, genuine setting. it is why Bionicle has a feel to it that you never see in western childrens media(nor that often in adult either), other than some very, very few exceptions, due to our deep aversion to showintg religion to children.
and then of course there are the gods in question.
Mata Nui and Makuta. the two brothers who set this story into motion. The first who came here to this world, and created the matoran, and the second who followed him from paradise, and cast a spell that put mata nui into his current deep, deep sleep.
Now these two could have been just another set of "evil brother who who was jealous of, and hates his good brother and attempts to usurp him".
but that's not quite what we get.
When the toa Mata finally do confront Makuta, they get his perspective on it all. Now they ultimately write this off as just an evil villain trying to justify his actions... but if you actually break down what makuta is saying, he is a way more interesting villain than the very simplistic reading the devil figure the matoran believe he is.
"Destroy me? You cannot destroy me. No more than you can destroy the sea, or the wind. Or - the void."
"You are like the sea? The sea bears life! The sea bore us!"
"I bore you, for I am Nothing. And out of Nothing, you came. And it is into Nothing that you will go. I stand with Mata Nui, side by side. I am his brother. The people of the world are builders. But look into their hearts ... and you will find that they also have the power to destroy. I am that power. I am destruction. And I WILL destroy you."
ultimately, the story of the gods Mata Nui and Makuta is not the story of heaven and hell, but instead a story of yin and yang.
Mata Nui is the god of light, and that is the element that everyone associates him with... but thats not his main trait. his main trait, his defining virtue, is creation. That is what he is most famous for after all, creating the matoran and this island home for them.
Similarily, Makuta is tha god of darkness, as that is his element... but his main virtue is destrution.
as the creators themselves noted, using a lego methaphor, mata nui is the drive to create new things, to make something bigger and more interesting out of the parts you have... but Makuta is the drive to destory that creation, to take the lego set apart either before creating something new, or to put it away into the box so that you can use it later. before you create something new, you must destroy.
And this ties into the actual story as well, as one of the big main plots from the start is that to reawaken their god, one of the things that would happen, is that the toa and the matoran would have to give up on Mata Nui the island, their home, their promised land, as only by it's destruction could their god reawaken and lead them to the paradise he originally came from.
its really, really good stuff, and one of the things that ellevated Bionicle over so many other children stories.
now, you might have noticed i said, and continue to say, early bionicle.
There is a reason for that.
and it ties into two very, specific turning points in the development of the story.
the big twist that Mata Nui was actually a giant robot was always going to be the center of everything, the explanation for all the wierd mysteries of the series. Even if his final form didnt end up being quite as big as this above concept piece made him out to be, the overall point stands.
The god of the Matorans was a gigantic robot, and his childrens proper place was inside of him, both to live their lives, and to serve as part of the great ecosystem that was the universe inside of mata nui.
Mata Nui the island, which he created for the Matoran to live on, was always a temporary thing, and their true destiny was him brining them back to "Paradise", aka the great planet of the solar system this story takes place in.
Spherus Magna. a planet that was broken into 3 before he left, and left a hellscape.
his original home that he left long ago.
Now, you might have noticed that i said not a word about what Mata Nui's backstory on said planet actually was.
The only thing that is important as it was originally portrayed, was that Mata nui left the planet for whatever reason, ended up on the water filled moon he currently rests on, and his brother followed him there from paradise.
now, you could create a scenario where there was some scientific, "Mundane" reason for all of this, but if you read this summary so far, the first thought in your mind is probably that what broke this planet into 3 pieces was probably related to something Mata Nui and Makuta, the two known gods of this universe, did. Maybe it is the reason why Makuta no longer has a body, and ended up on this moon in a much weakened form as basically a spirit who can only inhabit souless machine parts.
and im going to take a wild guess that this is probably what was originally planned... but you see, there was a shift at some point. actually on two points.
The first shift was at the very start of Bionicle as we know it, for the series was actually meant to only last 1 year. The toa would defeat makuta, then awaken Mata Nui, and that was that. The end.
However, Lego, who was at the verge of bankruptcy at the time, saw potential in the setting, and given it was a hail mary to save their company said "Screw it, lets expand on this universe!
and so the original one year story became 3 years.
now this artifical extension could have been disasterous, but unlike so many other similar tales, it was the exact opposite.
Mata nui the island got more fleshed out, the big mystery got more build up, the characters got to go through more development, both in the form of a kickass new upgrade, but also character arcs as a result of their power increase going to their head.
new villains, new places to go, new developments.
all leading up to the point where it was now decided that they would end the story. The arrival of the seventh toa of light, which would be where makuta was finally defeated, and at the end of the planned movie that would be the finale, mata nui would finally awaken.
Except this part didnt happen.
at the last moment, Lego essentially pulled the plug and decided to extend the series, and the point where they would reveal the big twist for a second time.
that said, the following storyline of the big flashback to explain metru nui was always going to happen, its just that as originally envisioned, this would be a flashback as the Toa, Turaga and Matoren traveled to Metru nui, as Mata Nui was flying through space back to spherus magna.
So essentially the story was over, but lego got to get one more line of bionicle toys out of it, while the bionicle team got to have fun one more time.
But thats not what happened, as not only did mata nui not awaken(it would take 3 more storylines past this point before that happened), but the big flashback was where everything went wrong so to say.
this is where bionicle shifted hard from a story trying to be a myth with very clear religious and spiritual overtones, into full on sci-fi.
and you can tell that shift occured very clearly as they abandoned all their original plans for how metru nui was supposed to look like in the poster above, showing the very alien like enviornment that was mata nui's insides, into the far more boring and safe(as well as full on science fiction) setting in the poster below.
now im not going to say that everything that came after this point was bad, far from it, there was a lot of really awesome stuff that happened afterwards, but it was the critical turning point where Bionicle steered away from the essence that made it more than just another toyline, an attempt at creating a myth that while it had sci-fi aspects, was ultimately a story of faith, destiny, and trying to find ones place in the universe, into just another sci-fi story.
Basically you can sum it up as the point where mata nui went from a god who was also a giant robot, into just a giant robot.
and man, does it make the lore, and tone a mess.
while the new universe does make logical sense, it lacks the soul(pun very much intended) of what made bionicle, bionicle.
and you know what the really sad thing is?
The final part of the story, where Mata Nui is FINALLY awakened, only to lose his own body, and find himself trapped in his mask as its launched into space before crashing back on the shattered planet that he came from, could so easily have fit into this mythical storytelling.
what actually happens is that mata nui learns he was actually just a giant robot created by some scientis in a lab 100 000 years ago to travel the cosmos, learn about the universe, then come back and fix the broken planet. then he repairs his own, unstable, proto type body that wasnt really working out, makuta senses him and follows him, they duke it out, mata nui kills him, then uses the last of his energy to fix the planet, before dying. oh, also rather than being his actual brother, makuta was actually just a computer program mata nui created. and Makuta isnt even his real name. his actual name is Teridax. im not kidding. oh and the actual thing that destroyed the world? it was a fight amongst some tribesmen using the resident dues ex machina substance that began oozing from the planet's core. again, im not kidding.
here is how you could easily fix it, while keeping in the same tone with what was suggested in the first three years about makuta and mata nui's origins.
The exiled and humbled divine being, cast from heaven, and forced to wander the world he himself played a role in wrecking so long ago, as he travels across the world, and befriends the people he essentially left behind to create the matoran in a better place, rather than fix the mess he, ironically enough given his defining attribute, created.
basically a bionicle take on the atonement/labors of hercules.
and then, having wracked his brain on how to solve the problem of his brother having taken control over his own body, he stumbles upon the solution.
his brother's own, broken, non-active body, which after their ancienct, and catacylsmic clash his brother left behind to follow him to the ocean moon.
and so his journey becomes to essentially take a page out of his brothers book, and do what he did to him in reverse. Repair the mighty body of a god, and then take contrel over it.
after the great journey of hardship and pain, now comes the ressurection before ragnarok, the final battle.
see how easy it is to rewrite this story about what is essentially two computer programs fighting over different continent sized bodies into a story about gods fighting a thematic and climactic showdown on the ruins of a planet they themselves wrecked to pieces to begin with?
but of course the story has to end, and it ends on a note tying into the original message. you cannot create, withouth destruction coming first, and so to win this conflict, mata nui has to destroy something. himself.
His own body.
Like any good jesus analogue, he gives his own life in a sense, as he chooses to give up on the possibility of regaining his own body and with it, regaining his true power and goodhood for the sake of the future of his people and this planet, driving his own skull into the oncoming moon that served as his home for all these years.
and with his final bit of power as his brother's dying body begins to give up on life, he spends the last moments of godhood to do what he, the god of creation should have done from the start. fix the mess he and makuta left behind.
putting the massive planet back together into one whole, while also terraforming it into the green wonder it used to be.
then, we end the story as we began. with a prophecy, where Mata Nui predicts before his toa, as his spirit returns to slumber once again that he will return, but for now, they must make their way forward withouth him, in this new world, that they now must make their own destiny here on the Paradise he promised them so long ago.
I dont know about you, but i think that would have been a lot more interesting that desperately trying to rewrite the entire setting to be full sci-fi because you didnt want to continue with the spiritual and religious themes that you never managed to shake off anyway.
mind you, it's not impossible to have this kind of twist and make a good story about it, but when you commit to telling what is essentially a religious tale that is basically the coming of christ, Ragnarok, the exodus, and the eternal kingdom on earth into one, you are not going to be able to swerve into making it full on sci-fi withouth it feeling, really, really jarring.
And guess what? it makes Bionicle Lore feel really, really jarring. Or iffy as you put it.

Admittedly, I've been feeling terrible lately. I didn't even finish my weekly drawing and broke my now months long streak. I thought I would be able to do it, but my emotions weighted me down too much. I might go back to drawing one art every two weeks.
Anyway, I feel like I should do more fun things. I mean, drawing is fun, and I love creating stories for my OCs, but I do have a lot of other interests. And tho I'm sticking to talking about LEGO today, I want to talk more and get out of my shell. And maybe give you more insight into me as a person.
So today I'm going to talk about my favourite LEGO themes and why I love the series, plus how I personally got i to all of them. It's not a normal review whatsoever, just an excuse to ramble about my interests freely. Just remember this is my experience and my feelings.
(And it's not at all like I'm making this post because I need all of this to prepare for a speaking class and the only way to motivate myself is by making a post about it o _o Come on, I'm killing two birds with one stone here!)
Okay, so, my all-time favourite themes are (in chronological order to when I found them):
1. Bionicle
Honourable mention: Hero Factory
2. Ninjago
3. Legends of Chima
4. Monkie Kid
5. Dreamzzz
1. So. Bionicle. I have a weird history with Bionicle. My dad's friends used to get movies for us, and one day it just happened that my dad's friends gave us a pen drive with Bionicle: Legend Reborn on it. I think I would be around... Seven or eight when I watched it I've seen fans say that it was a pretty weak film, but I didn't know Bionicle back then, and I really enjoyed it! That movie was a soft reboot of the series, and as someone who started their Bionicle obsession with that movie, in my opinion it worked really well as a standalone supposed to capture new audiences. I really loved the sense of mystery that was probably lost on new fans. It wasn't exactly explained what or who Mata Nui was, besides him being a warrior who lost his people. And the ending... I really thought there would be a sequel to it, and was really intrigued by whom the great beings were, and what happened to the world, why Mata Nui knew them, what the giant ahh robots were supposed to do.
Of course, when a few years later in middle school I looked for the sequel, I didn't find it. And to be honest, the ending was disappointing to me. However, there was a whole other storyline in Bionicle to catch up on! And so one faithful summer was spent reading all the comics I could find, reading wiki pages one after another, playing Mata Nui online game obsessively, refusing to use a walkthrough. Believe me when I say I was obsessed!
And then out of nowhere in 2015 g2 came out, and I was stoked since I missed out on practically the whole g1 as it was being made. (I mean, it's understandable, I was born the same year the first Bionicle movie came out.) I mean, can you blame me for being excited? A dead franchise that I just started becoming a devoted fan of is suddenly revived from the grave. I felt like the luckiest person on earth that day. Honestly, g2 was a lot simpler than g1, but I really like it, even if most people said it sucked. Sure, it wasn't exactly like g1, and even I cringed a few times when watching the g2 show, but for what it was, it was cool in my eyes, and loved finding all the g1 references. And there were quite a few of them! The story of g2 was simpler, but for little kids I think it would've been fine. But alas, LEGO did a crap job promoting it, and it died early, with an ending that was so bad even I can't defend it. It just didn't make sense, and it was rushed as hell. But I still wished it would've continued.
I love both generations for different things, and I'm sad I didn't get any g2 sets when they were out (Lewa was my favourite one). But years later I managed to get a promotional anniversary set of Tahu and Takua, and you wouldn't believe my happiness when I was building it. It's strange being a relatively new fan compared to others I see online, but I still remember seeing Bionicle commercials, and even have a very vague memory of seeing a Phantoka commercial on our ancient TV. I mean come on, I was so into it, I even learned the Matoran alphabet! My mom had to listen to my countless rambling, and if I ask her about Bionicle today, she still remembers some answers, that's how much into it I was. Hell, this blog started as a Bionicle blog before I moved fully to Monkie Kid content.
Okay, this Bionicle ramble is getting a tad long, so I'll wrap this up. Would I recommend Bionicle to anyone? Well... Not really, unless you like long lore researching adventures. The story is so convoluted, with many sides stories, and it went on for so many years, that despite my obsession I still probably missed like, 40% of the lore. G1 at least, wouldn't vibe with casual audience probably. G2 might be easier on the brain, despite it having some deeper lore too. Plus, there's the cultural appropriation issue, that I'm not qualified to talk about, but others already made pages long blogs and articles about. Plus the weird gender situation. But, it's still a good story in my eyes, despite its many faults. But that's just me, and if you didn't catch on yet, I'm already deep in this hole and there's no getting out of here now.
Honourable mention: This brings us to Hero Factory. I watched the first few episodes at around the same time as the first Bionicle movie. Came from the same source as before. I think it deserves a mention, because I still loved it, and did some lore digging, but I wasn't as obsessed with it as the other positions on the list. I didn't like the later stuff as much, tho some concepts were really cool too. But the story of the first episodes was really well done, and worked great as a movie. The fights were tense, and when watching it for the first time, I couldn't really know if the characters would be okay. Honestly, it got me really excited and invested. A factory of heroes is a unique concept, and I always found it intriguing how they made the robot society work. But, I don't think it needed more time than it needed, unlike Bionicle, where I didn't like the ending of either generation. I think it wrapped things up quite well with the first episodes, and the later ones just feel like cool side stories, and it works in my opinion.
This one I would definitely recommend, because I feel like it's underrated, and it's not long. Like I said, the version I got was just a one movie like compilation. I checked and there's just 11 episodes. It would probably take 1–2 hours to watch it, not counting the later movies and all.
2. Next one is Ninjago! I started watching it almost from the start. I must have been around ten or so... The episodes aired on TV, so I had easy access to it! I almost never missed an episode, and watched even the reruns. And believe me, I was hypnotised when watching it. Tho, starting from rebooted I watched the episodes online, first in my native language, then in English since I started getting too impatient to wait. This was my first obsession. For the longest time, when people asked me what I wanted to do, I said I wanted to be a ninja. One of my oldest OCs is Mika, and she grew up with me. Whenever a new season was to come, I would design a new suit for her. I have a whole dedicated blog to her, I wonder if you all can find it lol. Anyway, for a kid's show, the first seasons were really well written, and the show could be dark when it wanted, but it didn't lack jokes, and most were very funny. And honestly, Ninjago had a really big impact on my life. It taught me not to give up, and it made me want to make the world a better place. Grade school was a horrible time for me, and Ninjago was like my escape. Tho, I might have daydreamed about it too much at one point...
I started distancing myself from Ninjago around hands of time. I didn't watch the show as regularly, catching up on seasons long after they aired. I think that's also where the writing quality started dropping… I just didn't like it as much any more. But it should've been expected with a series that went on for so long. I'm not one of the people who think old Ninjago was better than anything. It wasn't perfect at all. But I didn't like the short format of newer seasons. But then secrets of forbidden spinjitzu dropped, and i as a person started getting better too, so I went back to Ninjago, and while it wasn't still the best and people had a lot of issues I loved those few next seasons. I mean, they somehow hit right into my interests with those seasons. First the adventure movies like atmosphere with the Egyptian like tomb, then they get sucked into a video game, then the very DnD like feeling Shintaro. It was right up my alley. My love for Ninjago was back in full force by then. So you can imagine how sad I was when the word that Ninjago was ending started going around. The series has been with me for half my life. My friends even knew how much I liked it, my best IRL friend even bought me a Ninjago set for Christmas one time. But you know, I thought it was probably Ninjago's time. Nothing can last forever after all, and it had a very good run. Why not end it when the story was still quite alright? And then… Crystallized happened. I didn't watch Crystallized. I heard the spoilers, and I wasn't… thrilled. Especially with Harumi. And people hated that season. It left a bitter taste in my mouth. It didn't feel like a send-off Ninjago deserved.
So you can imagine how damn happy I was about Dragon Rising! And surprise, it's the best Ninjago has been in a while! I absolutely loved the first season. The new characters are wonderful, and that change was certainly what Ninjago needed. And the fact that it's merged with one of other of my beloved LEGO series only makes it better. And that's probably my cue to move to it hehe
So, would I recommend Ninjago? Yeah. Its story is easy to follow, you just need to watch the show. If you're ready to watch sixteen+ seasons that it! Even the worse seasons have some value to them I'd argue. But I may be biased with how close to my heart that series is.
3. Yeah boy, Legends of Chima! I started watching Chima around the same time I started watching Ninjago, and I was equally hooked. And yes, my mom remembers this one as well, I watched it every time it was on too. Actually, I think the first fanfiction I've ever written was about Chima. With a pencil on paper. I think that, while the other series captivated me because of magic or the setting or the action, in Chima it was the characters and their dynamics mostly, despite there being plenty of magic powers and action too, plus a unique setting. The main characters all have distinct personalities, and it's fun to see how their personalities clash or work together. I think it's cool because the conflict between lions and crocodiles takes the main stage in the first season. Later seasons are great too, and they shake things up to make things interesting quite well. The lore isn't as broad as in other series, but it's pretty cool and interesting either way. There were some unique concepts there. I can't explain my love for this theme as well as with other series, because I don't think there was anything big that made me like it. It's just a cool show. I think what there was has been satisfying, tho young me was really sad and angry it ended anyway. But it's great for what it was. But I can't say I'm not happy that Chima is now merged with Ninjago, and it works so well together, and I absolutely love Lord Ras.
I would absolutely recommend it. It's a fun show, and only three seasons long. It can be both fun and serious, and I definitely had a blast watching it.
4. Now one of my newer obsessions! Monkie Kid! I watched the pilot in Chinese when it came out, then I promptly forgot about the series and binge-watched it all when season 3 came out. I was reading about Journey to the West long before the series was announced, since I have a liking for old stories and legends and myths and stuff. And Asian cultures fascinate me. I blame Ninjago with its Japanese influence and all the martial arts movies that were on the TV all the time. Plus Mulan and Kung Fu Panda. Anyway, I can't say much about how accurate it is or anything since I'm not Chinese, but I think the show is great. I noticed a lot of references to Journey To The West. No shocker here, it's inspired by it. But being in this fandom made me learn a lot of new things about China, tho I still have a bunch of things to learn. I'm no expert yet. Tho, I try my best to be respectful.
Umm... Like I said, not much to say about how accurate the story is. But I really liked Journey to the West, so naturally I like Monkie Kid too. Plus, MK i really relatable to me. I feel like my personality is really similar to his, tho I'm more introverted. For some reason, I relate to this portrayal of Macaque and Wukong as well.
I dare to say that from all the series so far, I find this one to be the most well written. I just find the writing to be the most impactful. Plus, the artstyle is very different from other LEGO shows. Action scenes are really fun. The artstyle definitely works in its favour. And yeah, I would recommend this show 100%.
5. And finally, the newest addition to the LEGO series, Dreamzzz! The show is really new and just starting, but I love the concept and the writing! Plus again, I really relate to Mateo. The characters feel like real people you would meet, and how they interact feels realistic. And I found myself liking even the characters that annoyed me, because their personalities were the realistic type of annoying, one that you might find out in the wild. And the concept of a dream world just really speaks to me. And it gives the creators a lot of creative freedom. All wacky things can happen in a dream after all. One thing I didn't expect in the show was the secret agency, and I think it's a clever addition to the story.
I would recommend this series. I hope it'll have a bright future, and that the writing will stay this good.
Well, time to wrap all of this up. Whoever suffered through this whole ramble deserves a juice and a cookie 🍪🧃 For a few finishing thoughts... I noticed a lot of the series I like blend magic powers and technology together. I just thought it's interesting. And I wanted to mention that the songs for Bionicle, Ninjago and Chima absolutely slap. I used to listen to them on repeat all the time lol Even my mom really enjoyed those songs
Yeah, I don't know what this post was for, I just felt like writing all that :v

Tentang Perpustakaan
Di term-term berikutnya kami membaca ragam buku: Freckle Juice, A Wrinkle in Time, Narnia, dan lain-lain.
Ketika Hamka kecil tahu bahwa gurunya Zaenuddin Labay El Yunusy membuka Bibliotek, yaitu tempat penyewaan buku, maka Hamka selalu menyewanya setiap hari.
Rabbi zidnii ‘ilman..
-h.a.

i just find Takanuva being a giant during the Karda Nui thing so funny Literally hold the rest of the Nuva
Omg, Takanuva goes from roughly 7 feet tall, maybe a tiny bit shorter, to being 8 or 9 feet tall and he realizes he now has a power he's never had before: the ability to pick up the other Toa Nuva
Lewa is all for it, even if it saddens him because his little brother got so big
Pohatu is in this same boat, but often just goes, "Catch me," and lets Takanuva carry him for a while. Maybe it's even a piggyback ride situation
Tahu and Kopaka only let him when they're injured
Gali and Onua ask first because they don't NEED to be carried, but it is still saddening to see how far their brother has come from being the one they've carried around to being the one who carries them around

Rhys is wearing a pounamu necklace in the toki/adze shape (Thanks to ClaireGregoryAU on twitter!)
Greenstone - Whakatane, New Zealand By Graeme Murray
The legend of Pounamu
According to the people of Ngāi Tahu (a South Island tribe), Poutini was a Taniwha (giant water being) who swam up and down the seas of the West Coast, protecting both the people and the mauri (life force) of Pounamu.
One day while resting in the warm waters off Tuhua (Mayor Island), he saw a beautiful woman bathing in the sea. Her name was Waitaki. Full of admiration, Poutini snatched her and fled south towards his mainland.
Waitaiki's husband, Tamaahua, was a powerful chief. When he realised his wife had been taken, he threw a magical dart in the air. The dart pointed in his wife's direction, and he paddled after them in an unrelenting pursuit.
Realising that Tamaahua would not rest until he reclaimed Waitaiki, Poutini decided the only way to keep her forever was to turn the woman into his essence. The taniwha transformed Waitaiki into Pounamu and laid her down within the riverbeds of the Arahura River.
When the chief discovered his wife turned to stone in the riverbed, he let out a tangi - a tremendous song of grief. If you listen closely in New Zealand's deep south, you may still hear it echo through the mountains.
Symbols and designs
More than just a beautiful art form, pounamu can represent ancestors, connection with the natural world, or attributes such as strength, prosperity, love, and harmony.
Toki: The toki (adze) is a type of blade, is associated with determination, control, strength, focus and hope.
Koru: The graceful koru represents a native fern unfurling and symbolises new life, new beginnings, hope, personal growth, purity nurturing, a new phase in life, the spirit of rejuvenation and peace.
Hei matau: The fish hook design signifies a connection to the moana (ocean) and brings the wearer good luck and safety while travelling.
Tiki: Hei-tiki designed as a pendant in human form, it symbolises strength and enduement. Usually passed down from generation to generation. Each piece carries a mana (prestige) that increases with each new bearer, with the most precious having known histories stretching back into time.

New parts-pack coming out either later today or maybe tomorrow, depending on if I make any more things for it. It's just a bunch of random stuff I've done that doesn't fit into any other pack (e.g a giant hammer with lots of studs on it, a liftarm with a Tridax Pod-scale catapult basket thing attached, a few spiky liftarms, a Bionicle-scale version of GWP!Tahu's sword).

Gimana coba rasanya jadi outsider dirumah sendiri?
Di luar rumah ya jadi tukang bully, supaya kebutuhan atas eksistensi dia sebagai manusia terpenuhi. Dengan membully, keinginannya didengar dan dituruti
The last but not Least, Nobita...
Sedikit-sedikit mengeluh, menangis, ngambek...
Tapi beda kalau Bapaknya Nobita Presiden..
Minimal bisalah jadi Wapres😁🤭
