(Glad to see that someone else is enjoying the interaction, it’s really fun to be a bit of a menace to Jiyan honestly (apologies to the Jiyan mod))

(As for the ship, I do like it, I think it has a lot of depth— Geshu himself has this sort of obsession with dragging Jiyan down with him, saying that they’re “two desperate souls doomed to be forsaken” (quote from Jiyan’s showcase) in Geshu’s mind I think he likes it that way, it may be his personal view of what being a general means, and how war digs its claws into you but he’s definitely got some sort of attachment to Jiyan.)

(Geshu doesn’t want to think that he himself failed in his role, and he takes it out on Jiyan because Jiyan assumed his responsibility and his role as general. The negative part of him overrides the positive part, and is likely haunted by the soldiers that died under his command.)

(In Jiyan’s character showcase and in the cutscene, he asks how Jiyan will respond to the dead’s pleas and cries— Geshu is very emotionally charged in these lines and I think that’s perhaps because he feels an inkling of guilt for how things turned out, and Jiyan is an outlet for that anger at himself.)

(When he was alive, I also think it’s entirely possible that he was fond of Jiyan. In the cutscene at the beginning of the quest Great Warstorm, we see that Geshu valued Jiyan’s opinion as a medic, and acknowledged that he may have even been right about the retroact rain— but that trust in Jiyan’s judgement was overridden by the fact that it was their only chance to launch an attack at the Threnodian, leading Geshu to sacrifice himself.)

(Geshu Lin by no means thought little of Jiyan, he was likely the closest person to him, and I can’t say much for Jiyan, but since the phantom of Geshu haunts him, it isn’t a completely unfounded belief to say that he feels some sort of attachment to the former general too.)

(This turned into a mini study, so my apologies for that. What I mean is that I do like the ship, I think it’s angsty and has a lot of potential… but in terms of the interaction I have with the Jiyan mod, I just like terrorizing him. We’ll see where it goes.)

(PHEW, short response because my other responses are in the long post I'm writing, but I got something COOKING up that I know you're really gonna enjoy, I just finished writing the part for Jiyan and Naomi, now I just gotta write for Geshu Lin's part and what he would read/find out, it's gonna be a spicy one for sure, it's really long but it's gonna be worth the wait, trust me, really wish the people could see what I got cooking up, there's gonna be so many twists and turns along with a crap load of fluff and medic Jiyan, it's gonna be great, night for now! General, please come back safely. I've been overworked during your absence, yet my tent is always open should you return. I'm sure you've seen how much Jiyan has changed since your disappearance, as such, I wouldn't dabble on that subject much today.

Have you been eating well during your travels? Oh how I wished I could've ran after you the night you left to take down that Thorax alone. It pains me that the last thing I have is this silver ring you've promised me around my finger, and the earring you've gifted me... Please come back.

(I’m going to admit I had this in my inbox, and was heavily debating on how to answer it— given that I am unsure if your intent was for Geshu to answer as a phantom (?) which would be difficult given he can’t receive physical mail… though if he’s supposedly missing, then he wouldn’t receive physical mail either even if he weren’t a phantom. Also mentioning the Ovathrax implies the timeline to be after fighting the Threnodian, so everyone assumes he’s dead (and likely technically is?) that being said, I prefer not to be unrealistic even if an ask is kind of silly or otherwise doesn’t make much sense, but this particular letter just sort of stumped me on how to go about answering it. I didn’t want to make assumptions, or try and create a scenario in which he would somehow obtain this letter as either a phantom or a physical person if that wasn’t your initial intention. But I also didn’t want to leave it unanswered…)

(Another thing, I’m assuming this is meant to be a plot where Geshu is already romantically involved with someone… I generally prefer to avoid established relationships right off the bat because it’s more difficult to not veer into OOC when romantic interactions don’t fit very well with a character’s personality. That’s not to say he won’t ever have romantic interactions, just that it takes work to get there, you are free to read through this blog’s rules again if something is unclear)

(As for this letter, again— I was a little confused on how to respond, so if you’d like to send another ask and tell me more in detail the plot you had in mind and specify if you’d like Geshu to be a phantom or not, that would help a little bit…)

Aight, this is quite long and I'm still finishing the lore and how it'll connect to canon, so this is just the basics.

Just wanted to say I love the way you write. I always loom forward to your updates and I have my notifications on for you. I like reading your interactions with all the different OCs and Canon characters. Do you think Geshu Lin is truly gone? Given how ambiguous they made his fate be.

(I don’t think he’s truly gone. A lot of my responses actually have little bits and pieces of my headcanon in regards to Geshu’s actual existence at the moment, which is rather complicated, I might make a more in depth post if people want to see all the technicalities I have worked out for his phantom state and all that. But for now— no I don’t think he’s gone, likely not all “alive” but definitely not gone for good)

That's alright, I made the ask more about how someone from his team that is very close to him would be in denial and kept on waiting as if he's alive, sending letters into the wind, hoping that if he's still in the physical realm, he'd somehow respond (Sure he's most likely dead, but hey, unless confirmed, he's MIA in my book).

Of course I apologise if I didn't specify the type of relationship right off the bat, and you don't have to worry about it, I'm just being silly.

For now, the one who sent him said letter is considered his closest acquaintance in my own version of the timeline, as a General would often need medical assistance on the field, and i doubt Jiyan could handle that workload alone.

(Alright I can work with something like that, the only obstacle would be that letters are paper and the retroact rain is well… rain, in a technical sense. But that doesn’t mean Geshu wouldn’t stumble upon a letter or two. In terms of relationship, duly noted. I’ll keep it in mind)
