I removed a lot of synthetic landscaping fabric (also known as geotextile/anti-root fabric/root canvas) and concrete from my allotment garden today.
Please don't ever use these-- they degrade into microplastic particles over time, which then end up in everything around it, including the water, plants and animals. The additives used to make these are often also ecotoxic. Even the less harmful textiles still aren’t good for soil -- but don’t take it from me:
