Neuvillette likes to hold your hand.

He does so without thinking. The first time it happens, he doesn't notice until you pull away for a moment to look at something. Neuvillette had whipped around, frantic for a moment like you disappeared, only to blush when he realized you were still there.

You laughed and thought it was cute, and took his hand to lace your fingers together once more.

Every time you go out it's like that. No matter what task you're doing, there's always some form of contact between you two. Neuvillette's hand in your own. A touch to your shoulder. A hand on your waist.

It's so instinctual for Neuvillette that it becomes so for you too. You reach out for him, only to find out he's already reaching for you.

The Melusines giggles at the sight of it. They ask you when you're going to get married, and you somehow manage to blush even darker when Neuvillette answers "soon" as easily as breathing.

It's a love language all on it's own, a simple act of caring that somehow still makes your breath hitch every time Neuvillette does so without a thought.

You squeeze his hand. He squeezes it back, without even looking at you.

(You pretend not to hear the Melusines when they tell you-much to Neuvillette's mortification-that it's a behavior of otters so they don't get lost from each other in the ocean. Somehow that makes it even better. Neuvillette would prefer if you never brought it up again.)
