Fish Oil

Preparation

Preparation
Gelatin is extracted from the skin & bones of the fish. The skin is cleaned and washed repeatedly and treated with alkali & acid solutions in between and then heated at controlled temperatures. 
2. Fish Emulsion
Fish emulsion is produced from the fluid remains of fish which were processed to make fish oil. It is an organic fertilizer that has NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) and other nutrients optimal for enriching the soil for horticulture.
Preparation
The carcass products like head, scales, bones and skin left after fish processing are used to prepare a fish emulsion. The carcass products are ground into a slurry and fish oil & fish meal are removed. The leftover is a fish emulsion that may be strained & filtered to remove solids, and sulphuric acid is added to increase the acidity & prevent the growth of any microbes.
3. Insulin
Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas in humans. Insulin is also produced commercially to treat diabetes mellitus in humans. Fishes are the first vertebrates that have ligands and receptors of the insulin/IGF family. The insulin produced from fishes is more stable and does not easily break by the protein-digesting enzymes in the pancreas.

Farmed fish are used to produce insulin using technical and medical procedures.
