Prince Gavyn of Kranaltine, aka Throneworld, the fourth (or fifth, or sixth depending on how you count it; it's kinda complicated) hero in the DC Universe to take up the Starman moniker.
He made his first appearance in Adventure Comics (vol. 1) #467 (January, 1980). Interestingly, Adventure Comics is where the original Starman of the Golden Age, Ted Knight, made his first appearance, in issue #61 (April, 1941).
I like Gavyn's original costume as designed by artist Steve Ditko. Later on, during his short span of stories, he would get a new costume, which consisted of a dark blue bodysuit with a gold star emblazoned on his chest. Pretty darn bland if you ask me.
By 1985's Crisis On Infinite Earths the character had been pretty much forgotten. He was killed off in a single panel appearance in that series, as were so many others.
Gavyn was resurrected post-Crisis when it was revealed that his energy/powers were the bolt from the sky that struck Earthman Will Payton, turning him into the next Starman. After several years, it was revealed that Payton had Gavyn's memories, and eventually he took on Gavyn's appearance and became a space faring superhero again.
That didn't last long, though. Sometime during the Rann-Thanagar: Holy War (2008-2009) miniseries Gavyn was transformed into the villain Fusion. I found that series, along with most of the work that Jim Starlin wrote at DC, to be pretty forgettable, so I don't know if Gavyn "got better."
DC brought Will Payton back to life, complete with a whole new power source, in Dark Nights: Metal (2017-18). To my knowledge, they haven't really done anything with the character since.
If they can do that, they can bring back Prince Gavyn as well. It would be fun to have him soaring through the space ways again, trying to deal with the mess that is the nascent United Planets, as well as the reorganization (for the 47th time, by my count) of the Green Lantern Corps.
