hey yttd fans do you ever think about how kai and gashu both killed themselves to avoid the punishments enforced by the killing game. do. do you guys think about the parallels. about how kai can never escape his family or past. how he's always going to be a reflection of his own father. how neither of them actually valued their own lives. how gashu died because of his hatred and kai died because of his hope. like father like son

Day 161: look at my doctors dawg I’m going to die

I've noticed that some yttd characters lose the highlights in their eyes after traumatic events. Instead they just get grey circles for irises, without even pupils. Keiji even points out that Kai's eyes are "dead" like his, but in flashbacks and Kai's miniepisode they both have highlights (even Gashu has them) until mr. policeman's and Sei's deaths. This means a lot of things.

The trauma these people went through was so severe that they literally had the light snuffed out of them.

Hinako has "dead" eyes as well, and we haven't seen what happened to make them that way yet, which makes me think she'll get her backstory revealed later.

What do you think Keiji thought when he looked a child in the eyes and saw the same emptimess he feels in himself?

Keiji is the only surviving dead-eyed character in logic and emotion, which makes me very worried.

But then again, maybe he'll end up regaining that light in his eyes depending on what happens next.
