A Twitter Experience
In the eight minutes I was waiting on this answer, I googled "bark collar" and read a couple of manuals.
I think the thing I paid the most attention to is this: How hard the manuals try to avoid saying "Buy this if: You want to electrocute your dog when it barks."
They're not "electrodes" they're "contact points."
It's not "80 Volts," it is "stimulation intensity 4"
It's not "shock punishment," it is "bark correction"
It is not "We sometimes give your dog an electric shock even when it doesn't bark but we got better at avoiding it," it is "Reduces false corrections"
It is not "don't attach a shock collar to your dog you psycho," it is "To prevent irritation from contact points, remove the collar for at least eight hours out of every 24-hour period. This device is not intended for human use. Do not attempt to use on any person."
It is not "animal cruelty is illegal," it is "Check your state and local laws and ordinances to ensure you fully understand any restrictions applicable to this product in your jurisdiction prior to purchase and/or use. Garmin does not assume any responsibility for any fines, penalties, or damages that may be incurred as a result of any state or local law or ordinance relating to use of the product."
The only reason you can tell this is a shock collar is because it contains this text: "when using vibration, no electrical stimulation is used." This is the only place in the manual that dares admit what is happening. Everything else is cleaned and sanitized.

Going Solo
There have been many changes in the demographics of who is walking the PCT. There have been dramatic increases in the numbers of foreign hikers and women hikers (see https://pcttrailsidereader.com/post/739558381630750720/halfway-anywhere-a-pct-gem) and the number of solo hikers. The perceived risk of walking alone has been tempered by the number of hikers on the PCT and the possibility of communication from even the most remote section of the trail (Jessie references taking an InReach in her story). And there are advantages as Jessie points out.
By Jessie Robinson Moore
“Who are you going with?”
“Myself.”
“You’re going alone?”
This was a conversation I had many times with friends, family, and strangers leading up to my six night, seven day section hike from Snoqualmie to Stevens Pass on the PCT. To most people I knew, hiking that far seemed crazy. Hiking that far alone, by myself, seemed incomprehensible. But to me, it seemed completely normal.
I was going on my first solo backpacking trip as a 31 year-old female. I had done other backpacking trips with my father, partner, and friends, but I had never been fully responsible for myself. Of course I was nervous. Nervous about the unknowns. What if I get hurt? What if someone makes me uncomfortable? What about wild animals? What if I get bored?
I helped fight back against these fears with preparation. I carried a first aid kit, ibuprofen, and Icy Hot to help with aches and pains I knew would show up. Although I had an itinerary of where I would camp each night, I told myself it was okay to stop early and take long breaks if I was too tired and was walking sloppy. I don’t like to lie, but I practiced what I would say if someone asked me where I was camping (“somewhere past this [well known] part of trail!”) or if I was alone (“my partner is 30 minutes behind me, they got a slower start this morning”). I reminded myself that animals are more scared of you than you are of them, which came in handy when I saw a bear 50 feet away in the woods, walking the other way. It did not want to come near my hiking poles being banged together and fortunately, did not seem to have any friends or family nearby.
And I never did get bored. The views were incredible (I was lucky to have beautiful weather), the climbs were challenging, and there were plenty of people along this section of the trail. I spoke with thru hikers that had started at the Mexico/California border in May, section hikers that were going the same direction or reverse direction of me, day hikers, runners, single night backpackers. There were stretches of time that I didn’t see many people, but for the most part I never felt truly alone. And it was nice to have my Garmin InReach Mini to communicate with my family and partner. I even made some friends that I hiked with for portions of the day.
If you are a hiker or a backpacker, I cannot recommend enough doing a solo backpacking trip in your lifetime. You may find that you hate it, and you can continue backpacking with partners. Or you may find that you absolutely love being on your own schedule, taking breaks when you want, and being fully responsible for yourself in the great outdoors.

Official Eight Days wrapup post
I do have at least three things I’d like to finish before the end of the year from this (some shamash answer responses, my Lena and Amelie Couples Counseling, and another, secret Couples counseling) but I would like to formally bring this to a close, and to beg you, if you would like to see this event I work VERY hard at back again this year, to make me feel appreciated!
To that end, we have the
Big Eight Days 2022 Wrap Up Poll
Here is where you can tell me what you really loved this year, what you missed (please be kind, I have worked hard), and anything else!
If you’d like to show me your appreciation in a tangible, physical form, I also would like to buy myself a gift! DETAILS BELOW
This is set up to reblog at least five more times before year end so brace yourselves
I have a tip jar! You can tip me at either Ko-Fi, or, since Ko-Fi has recently started running through Paypal as goods and services, thus taking a fee from my tips, you can just directly tip me at Paypal under @docholligay I have two things I am raising money in my tip jar for this year:
A Garmin Venu sq, the cheapest smartwatch that will work with my Stryd. I am an avid runner, and something I’m missing with my current setup, though it is great, is a way to glance at my times while running, which makes tempo work tough 42/120 (If you want your tip to go to this, put a heart emoji in the comments)
Three months of weekly pole dance class: I am working on strength and such, my traditional weak point, and I think weekly pole classes could be a fun way for me to build that! 28/154 (If you want your tip to go to this, put a smile emoji in the comments)
I also have a wish list of 8 Things For Hanukkah Under 40 Dollars for those of you who’d like to get me a physical little something I need or would like.

My first time going out of the country was an accident, and we were detained. I mean, it must've looked pretty suspicious when an older man and a teenage girl with no ID said, "Sorry, we weren't actually trying to go to Canada, we were trying to go to Texas."
Yeah, I know -- so, what happened was that we were moving to Texas from California.
Yeah. I know.
See, before THAT happened, when I was 9, my dad took me on a cross-country road trip, because he didn't trust planes, and we were all visiting family. My brother and mom flew to the east coast, and my dad and I had the absolute best time. I wrote a lot of poetry (which really impressed my dad and was the beginning of a lifelong passion for writing), I saw a lot of different, amazing things, including an intense lightning storm (that happened as we were passing through the middle of nowhere, nothing in sight, with tornado warnings on the radio -- that was terrifying, but still amazing).
So, when I graduated -- the same summer we were going to move -- I requested another road trip with my dad. I wanted to visit where he grew up, which we did. Amazing memories I still have to this day, going through all the little towns as he talked about his storied past. For the final act, we went to Niagara Falls -- it was beautiful, and also the thing that led to us being detained while our car was completely and totally tossed by Canadian authorities.
Since we were moving to Texas, we wanted to go and take a look at potential places to rent. My mom was going to fly there with my brother (she had bad knees -- car trips were excruciating), and we were going to begin the trip down after visiting the falls.
Now, I couldn't go to the Canadian side, because my parents hadn't actually let me start driving, nor had I gotten any kind of official picture ID. Why? I don't know, I'm actually still bitter about it to this day. I was quite a responsible teenager, the most wild thing I did was skip lunch and spend my lunch money on Lord of the Rings merchandise at the mall instead. And I didn't have my student ID, because I had undiagnosed ADHD at the time (I still have ADHD but it's now diagnosed), and was QUITE ready to be over and done with anything having to do with any academic institute.
So, when my dad and I got our fill of the American side of the falls (I'm told it's not as good as the Canadian side -- oh well, I at least got dippin dots, which by the way have yet to become the ice cream of the future), we climbed into the car, loaded up "Austin, TX" on our GPS, and set off on our next adventure.
It was one of those really old newfangled Garmin things, because my dad never taught me how to use a paper map (remember that), and besides, my dad was freshly retired (they had kids later in life) and he wanted to know what it was like to experience some of the latest advances in modern luxuries.
This thing wasn't Google. It was a dumb smart GPS. There was nothing, apparently, telling it "avoid going outside of the country for this trip". Although, looking back on it, I suppose there could've been a setting for that. We certainly ASSUMED it wouldn't take us out of the country. Maybe we were the dumb smart ones. But, I digress.
We started seeing signs for Canada. But, our GPS kept trucking on. We got a little nervous, but surely it would know? There must've been some other road, another exit? By the time we realized that we were wrong, it was too late. There was nowhere to turn around. There was nowhere to get off. We were in it and we were headed for the border, we would just have to hope that they would let us pull a quick turnaround and let us get out of there.
Well, they didn't.
My dad was immediately very apologetic when we got to the window. "We're really sorry, we didn't mean to come this way," he said, "we were actually trying to get to Texas. This stupid GPS took us this way and we didn't know, could we please just turn around?"
LOL, no. The agent was immediately suspicious. And, I mean -- fair.
He wanted to see my dad's ID (which, if you remember, was from California). He then wanted to see my ID. I didn't have one. Did I have another picture ID? No. Did I even have a student ID? Also no.
"I have a library card," I offered.
"Does it have a picture on it?" the agent asked.
"Oh," I said. "No."
"Okay -- sir -- could you please pull up to that building over there?"
So, that's how that happened.
They were really quite confused, and my dad was increasingly more stressed out by the minute. His go-to coping mechanism was always humor, so the GPS suffered a lot of (polite) abuse and besmirching as we were questioned by a couple agents inside.
Finally, one of the agents had pulled out a map, and had figured out what the GPS was trying to do. You see, there was a road just barely inside of Canada that went around the falls, and that one was apparently much faster than just turning around and going the stupid old American way all the way through. So, the poor little thing was really only trying to help, it just ended up costing us much more time than it was going to save us.
And so, at last, with my dad barely holding back the sweat and the contents of our luggage strewn about the car, we were permitted to leave, so long as we left IMMEDIATELY. And we did, swiftly.
I'm happy to report that the rest of the trip was quite uneventful.
That's not to say that our MOVE was uneventful. No, that was Detained in Canada 2.0, only instead of getting detained in a foreign country, we busted up a bank drive-thru trying to turn around after getting lost in a random Los Angeles neighborhood at night, because my dad didn't pay attention to the clearance sign and wasn't used to driving a box truck.
Why were we lost in a random Los Angeles neighborhood at night? Because my dad didn't trust the GPS anymore, so he decided to only use paper maps. Only, he got impatient with the Los Angeles traffic, and tried to go around it, then making me copilot navigate using a paper map that didn't really show a lot of detail for surface streets, when I had never used a paper map before.
I still remember him yelling at me, "I just need to know if these roads connect! How do I get back on the highway?!"
"I don't know," I yelled back, squinting at the paper held right up to my face, because paper doesn't pinch-zoom. "I think it connects?! It looks like it?! The lines are touching??!!"
Spoiler: it didn't connect.
But we made it through. I lived down south for a whole year, but I barely count it, because I was borderline agoraphobic at the time and went outside maybe ten times.
So, anyway -- that is the story of the first time I technically left the country, and was subsequently detained for an hour.
(PS: I did go back to Canada, properly, about ten years later, with my husband. We royally fucked up though, and thought we could stop at the duty free place to get some Canadian money, because we had NO idea what the hell a duty free store actually was. We were then forced to leave the country and re-enter. We almost didn't, but I was DETERMINED to visit Canada this time, and besides, we had a bunch of Canadian money. The whole time, I was thinking, "Here we go again, we're going to be pulled over and searched. Hopefully they just turn us away."
They didn't. They weren't exactly friendly about it, but they let us through again after explaining. It probably helped that I had sufficient identification that time.)
(PPS: We never ended up having to pay damages for the bank thing, somehow, unless my dad just covered it up out of shame. I was just glad we made it to Texas in one piece with all of our stuff, most of which we ended up throwing away because we didn't want it anymore by the time we got there.)
(PPPS: Canada was lovely. The second time, not the first.)
#the first time i ever left the country#and immediately got detained in Canada#long#but hopefully good?#i hope you enjoyed it anyway lmao

Building Websites to Profit from Affiliate Programs
Building Websites to Profit from Affiliate Programs: A Comprehensive Guide
Affiliate marketing is one of the most accessible and scalable ways to make money online. It involves promoting other companies' products or services on your website, earning a commission for each sale or action completed through your referral. Building a website tailored to affiliate marketing can be a highly lucrative endeavor if done strategically.
This comprehensive guide will walk you through the process of creating, optimizing, and monetizing a website specifically designed to profit from affiliate programs.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing model where businesses reward affiliates (you) for driving traffic or sales to their websites. The process works like this:
Sign Up: You join an affiliate program, such as Amazon Associates or CJ Affiliate.
Get Links: The program provides you with unique affiliate links to track referrals.
Promote Products: You promote these links on your website through content like reviews, blogs, or tutorials.
Earn Commissions: When users click your links and make a purchase, you earn a commission.
With affiliate marketing, you can build a steady stream of passive income by creating a well-optimized website.
Step 1: Choose a Profitable Niche
Your website’s success starts with selecting a profitable niche. A niche is a specific segment of the market you’ll target. Choosing the right niche ensures you attract an audience interested in the products you promote.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Niche
Passion and Interest: Choose a niche you’re passionate about. Writing content becomes easier when you enjoy the topic.
Profitability: Research the earning potential. Niches like technology, health, fitness, and personal finance tend to have high-paying affiliate programs.
Demand: Ensure there’s consistent demand. Use tools like Google Trends to see if your niche is trending.
Competition: Moderate competition is ideal. Highly competitive niches can be hard to rank in, while low-competition niches might not generate enough income.
Examples of Lucrative Niches:
Technology and gadgets
Fitness and wellness
Travel and adventure
Personal finance and investing
Home improvement and DIY
Step 2: Build Your Website
Once you’ve chosen your niche, it’s time to create your website. A professional, user-friendly website is essential for attracting and converting visitors into affiliate sales.
Choose a Domain Name and Hosting
Domain Name: Pick a name that’s short, memorable, and relevant to your niche. For example, if your niche is fitness, a domain like “FitGearReviews.com” might work.
Web Hosting: Reliable hosting ensures your site loads quickly and remains accessible. Popular hosting providers include Bluehost, SiteGround, and HostGator.
Set Up WordPress
WordPress is a versatile and user-friendly platform for building websites. To get started:
Install WordPress through your hosting provider.
Choose a clean and responsive theme, such as Astra or GeneratePress.
Install essential plugins like:
Yoast SEO: For optimizing content.
WP Super Cache: To improve site speed.
Pretty Links: For managing affiliate links.
Step 3: Create High-Quality Content
Content is the heart of your affiliate website. High-quality, engaging content attracts visitors, builds trust, and encourages clicks on affiliate links.
Content Types for Affiliate Websites
Product Reviews: Write detailed reviews highlighting the benefits, features, and drawbacks of products in your niche.
Example: “Top 5 Budget-Friendly Drones in 2024.”
Comparison Posts: Compare two or more products to help readers make informed decisions.
Example: “Fitbit vs. Garmin: Which Fitness Tracker is Best for You?”
How-To Guides: Create tutorials that solve problems while incorporating affiliate links.
Example: “How to Set Up a Home Gym on a Budget.”
Listicles: Compile lists of recommended products.
Example: “10 Must-Have Travel Gadgets for 2024.”
Informational Content: Write blogs on topics related to your niche to attract organic traffic.
Example: “The Benefits of Strength Training for Beginners.”
SEO Optimization for Content
Search engine optimization (SEO) ensures your content ranks on Google, bringing in organic traffic.
Keyword Research: Use tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Google Keyword Planner to find relevant keywords with low competition.
On-Page SEO:
Include target keywords in the title, meta description, headers, and throughout the content.
Use alt tags for images.
Internal Linking: Link to other posts or pages on your site to improve navigation and SEO.
Content-Length: Longer, in-depth articles (1,500–2,500 words) often rank better.
Step 4: Integrate Affiliate Links
Once you’ve created content, integrate affiliate links strategically. Overloading a page with links can appear spammy and deter readers.
Best Practices for Affiliate Links
Placement: Include affiliate links naturally within the content.
Example: “This budget-friendly drone [affiliate link] is perfect for beginners.”
Disclosure: Include a disclaimer stating that your site earns commissions from affiliate links to comply with FTC guidelines.
Shortened Links: Use link shorteners (like Pretty Links) to make affiliate links look clean and professional.
Call-to-Actions (CTAs): Use persuasive CTAs to encourage clicks.
Example: “Click here to check the latest price on Amazon.”
Step 5: Drive Traffic to Your Website
Even the best content won’t generate income without traffic. Focus on both free and paid methods to bring visitors to your site.
Organic Traffic
SEO: Optimize your site and content for search engines.
Blogging: Regularly publish fresh, valuable content to keep visitors engaged.
Guest Posting: Write guest posts for other websites in your niche, linking back to your site.
Forums and Communities: Participate in niche-related forums (e.g., Reddit, Quora) and subtly promote your content.
Social Media Traffic
Share your content on platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.
Use engaging visuals and captions to attract attention.
Participate in niche-specific groups and communities.
Paid Traffic
Google Ads: Target specific keywords with PPC campaigns.
Social Media Ads: Use platforms like Facebook or Instagram to promote your content.
Influencer Partnerships: Collaborate with influencers to drive traffic to your site.
Step 6: Monitor Performance and Optimize
Continuous improvement is key to a successful affiliate website. Use analytics tools to monitor performance and identify areas for optimization.
Tools to Track Performance
Google Analytics: Monitor traffic sources, bounce rates, and conversions.
Google Search Console: Check search rankings and site health.
Affiliate Program Dashboards: Track clicks, sales, and commissions.
Optimization Strategies
Update Content: Refresh older posts with new information or better-performing keywords.
A/B Testing: Test different CTAs, layouts, or headlines to see what converts best.
Improve Site Speed: Use tools like GTmetrix or PageSpeed Insights to identify and fix slow-loading pages.
Step 7: Scale Your Website
As your website gains traction, consider scaling your efforts to increase income.
Add More Content
Regularly publish new articles to cover more keywords, expand your audience, and keep existing visitors engaged.
Diversify Affiliate Programs
Don’t rely on just one affiliate program. Join multiple programs to increase your income potential. For instance:
Amazon Associates for general products.
CJ Affiliate for niche-specific products.
ClickBank for digital products.
Expand to Related Niches
Once your main niche is established, expand to related sub-niches. For example, if your site is about fitness equipment, you could add content on nutrition or workout plans.
Step 8: Stay Compliant with Regulations
Affiliate marketing comes with legal and ethical responsibilities. To ensure compliance:
Disclose Affiliate Relationships: Clearly inform readers that you earn commissions from links.
Follow Privacy Laws: Comply with GDPR and CCPA by providing privacy policies and cookie notifications.
Potential Challenges and How to Overcome Them
While affiliate marketing offers great potential, challenges may arise:
Slow Growth: Traffic and income may take months to build. Stay patient and consistent.
High Competition: Focus on unique, high-quality content to stand out.
Program Changes: Affiliate programs may change terms or commission rates. Diversify your income sources to minimize risk.
Conclusion
Building a website to profit from affiliate programs is a rewarding venture, but it requires dedication, strategy, and consistent effort. By selecting a profitable niche, creating valuable content, and driving traffic through SEO and other channels, you can create a successful affiliate marketing website that generates passive income.
Affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme, but with persistence, it can become a sustainable and lucrative business model. Start your journey today, and over time, watch your affiliate website transform into a powerful income-generating asset.

Even when using features like GPS or performance tracking extensively, the battery holds up like a champ.
GPS Accuracy: The GPS is spot-on, even when running in areas where signal drops are common, like under thick tree cover or through urban canyons. No weird dropouts or miscalculations on distance – it tracked my routes with precision every time. Weather Durability: I’ve used this watch in a variety of conditions – rain, sweat, dust, and the watch didn’t flinch. It’s built to handle anything you throw at it, whether it’s a tough race or a muddy hike. Verdict on Reliability: The Enduro™ 3 does exactly what it promises and never makes you feel like you're carrying a fragile gadget. It’s durable, trustworthy, and dependable in every situation. Does It Meet My Needs? Absolutely. My main needs were solid endurance tracking, reliable GPS, and long battery life – and the Garmin Enduro™ 3 nails all three. I’ve used it for everything from tracking long-distance runs to analyzing post-workout recovery, and it hasn’t disappointed me. It easily handles intense training sessions, whether it's a short, fast run or a multi-hour trail marathon. The battery life alone makes it an ideal companion for endurance athletes, and the wealth of data the watch collects helps me refine my training strategies. Issues or Limitations Though the Enduro™ 3 is mostly a dream, there are a couple of minor hiccups that could be better: Solar Charging: The solar charging feature isn’t as groundbreaking as I hoped. It extends the battery life a bit, but if you’re expecting a significant boost, it won’t blow your mind. It’s a cool bonus but not a game-changer. Interface Complexity: For those who aren’t used to Garmin devices, the sheer amount of customization and features can be a bit overwhelming. It’s not super intuitive at first, and you may find yourself sifting through menus or needing to reference the manual a few times. Wrist Comfort for Smaller Wrists: The watch is quite large, which can make it feel a bit clunky for folks with smaller wrists. It’s something you get used to, but the bulk can be a minor downside when worn for extended periods. Verdict on Limitations: While the minor issues are worth noting, they don’t outweigh the watch’s overall performance. The sheer durability, speed, and accuracy of the Garmin Enduro™ 3 far exceed any minor complaints I have. Final Thoughts on Performance If you’re serious about endurance sports, the Garmin Enduro™ 3 is built to keep up with your workload. It’s fast, accurate, and reliable even in extreme conditions. Though it comes with a few small limitations, they’re easily outweighed by its standout features and bulletproof performance. Whether you’re heading out on an all-day adventure or pushing your limits on a long run, this watch has your back – and then some. Garmin Enduro™ 3 Features: Packed with Power and Performance The Garmin Enduro™ 3 isn’t just your average fitness watch. It's fully loaded with features designed to help you optimize every aspect of endurance training, from real-time data tracking to personalized recovery insights. Let's dive into its main features and see how each one stacks up. 1. amazing Battery Life What it is: The Enduro™ 3's battery can last for weeks. It has a power-saving mode and solar charging to stretch its life even further. How it helps: For ultra-endurance athletes, battery life is critical. The longer the watch stays powered, the more data you can track over long distances and durations. No need to worry about it dying halfway through a race or a multi-day adventure. Usefulness: 10/10. This feature alone is a game-changer for anyone doing ultra-events or spending days in the wild. 2. Advanced GPS Navigation What it is: Garmin’s top-tier GPS offers precise navigation, even in tricky terrains like dense forests or mountainous regions. How it helps: The GPS helps keep you on course during long-distance events, outdoor adventures, or trail runs. You can follow routes and even retrace your steps if needed.
Usefulness: 9/10. The GPS is spot-on, helping with both safety and performance, but it drains a bit of battery when used heavily. 3. VO2 Max & Performance Metrics What it is: This feature gives you detailed insights into your aerobic fitness by calculating your VO2 max, along with other performance metrics like cadence, stride length, and heart rate. How it helps: By understanding your VO2 max and heart rate zones, you can optimize your training intensity and recovery. It helps pinpoint where you can push harder and when to pull back, ensuring you maximize your gains. Usefulness: 9/10. These metrics help you train smarter, not harder. It’s essential for building endurance and improving overall performance. 4. Recovery Time and Sleep Tracking What it is: The watch analyzes your body’s data after each workout to give an estimated recovery time. It also tracks your sleep to monitor how well you’re recovering overnight. How it helps: Recovery is key to preventing injuries and improving performance. The Enduro™ 3’s ability to give real-time recovery insights helps you avoid overtraining, while sleep tracking ensures you’re getting the rest your body needs. Usefulness: 8/10. The recovery insights are spot-on, though sleep tracking can sometimes be hit-or-miss if you're a restless sleeper. 5. Multi-Sport Modes & Customizable Data Screens What it is: Whether you’re running, biking, swimming, or hiking, the Enduro™ 3 has specific modes for each activity. You can also customize the data fields to show only the stats that matter most to you. How it helps: This versatility makes the watch a powerhouse for athletes who dabble in multiple disciplines. The customizable screens allow you to focus on the metrics that directly impact your performance, like pace, heart rate, or distance. Usefulness: 9/10. Customizing the watch to your specific needs gives you more control over how you track your workouts. However, setting it up can be a little overwhelming at first. 6. Solar Charging What it is: The Enduro™ 3 has solar panels integrated into its design, which recharge the battery when you're outdoors. How it helps: Perfect for long adventures or races where you don’t have access to a charger. The watch keeps juicing up under the sun, extending the battery life even further. Usefulness: 7/10. While it’s a cool feature, the solar charge isn’t super fast. It’s great for keeping the battery alive longer but won’t fully recharge the watch. 7. Water Resistance What it is: The Garmin Enduro™ 3 is water-resistant up to 100 meters. How it helps: You don’t have to worry about sweat, rain, or even swimming with the watch. It’s built to handle whatever conditions you throw at it. Usefulness: 8/10. It’s perfect for triathletes or those training in all weather conditions, though not much use if you don’t plan on taking it swimming. 8. Garmin Connect Integration What it is: This allows you to sync your watch data with the Garmin Connect app, where you can review detailed stats, set goals, and compare your performance over time. How it helps: Having a hub for all your training data helps you see the bigger picture of your progress. You can analyze trends, adjust your training plan, and stay motivated by seeing improvements over time. Usefulness: 10/10. The integration is seamless, and the app provides valuable insights to fine-tune your training and recovery strategies. Final Thoughts on the Features The Garmin Enduro™ 3 comes with an impressive set of features that truly cater to endurance athletes. Each feature feels purposeful and geared towards improving performance or keeping you on track, whether it’s through data tracking, navigation, or recovery insights. While there are a few small quirks (like solar charging not being a total game-changer), the overall functionality and usefulness of each feature make this watch an excellent investment for athletes serious about their training.
