hi ive now stalked all ur posts from uhh
yknow.
i just wanted to say that yes! changing the words u r using to describe yourself do help! dont call yourself stupid, say i do stupid things sometimes! (this is one way to do it because you r separating your mistakes from yourself. you are not stupid, even if you make dumb decisions sometimes) or like you said! silly! im silly haha i mess up! also positive affirmations r a super big thing!!!!! try n list some good things (or ask someone else to) about yourself and look at that every morning n tell yourself all the good things about you!
also, try to be compassionate with yourself! thinking bad things about yourself/having negative thoughts is not wrong. its a learned behavior and loottttss of people do it. try to be self aware and notice when youre saying negative things about yourself. then, either distract yourself from the thoughts (not exactly ideal but u wont always have the energy to do the other option) or start challenging those thoughts.
next time you wanna say you’re stupid, stop and tell yourself “i am not stupid. im human! i do silly things sometimes and mess up!” make sense? :0 its a lot easier said than done but it has helped me

oh wait!!! theres more i meant to say n forgot lol!!! um!! ok so with the positive affirmatiosn thing??
so ur brain is lazy rigjt. so... the way i was taught this,, they basically compared ur thought patternss to a town. so u have this one town. and. its ur negative thoughts ok? and so everytime u think it. u make a road in the town. and so since ur brain is lazy. itll go down the road thats easiest to use (the ones that r actually there!!!) so then ur brain will just stay in that town and keep going on those roads over n over, even if u don’t necessarily believe those thoughts anymore
so what u do, is u make a new town. a town thats made of good thoughts n affirmations! and u make a lot of roads in that town so ur brain can drive down em easier yknow? so even if you dont believe these good things about yourself, just think em. because the more u reinforce those thought patterns, the more your brain will think those things on its own! and then it just becomes a cycle of like positive thinking. once again, easier said than done, but when i was in group therapy any time someone said something bad about themselves they had to say two good things about themselves. and we didn’t realize it at the time but thats what they were trying to do! was make more paths for our brain to think good things!
