Hot take headcanon is that Faerghan "toxic chivalry/guilt/etc" culture is not a religious thing, it's the evolved/repackaged version of pre-Seiros/Elites-era tribal honor codes. It persisted the hardest in the northernmost regions (=Blaiddyd, Fraldarius, Gautier, Galatea) precisely because the Church of Seiros' reach and influence wasn't as strong there until recently.

This is also why Faerghus cozied up hard to Church post-independence and emphasize that they're religious— because until then, many of them weren't. Church also saw it as an opportunity to really get them into the religion and stop remnant pagan/heretical practices still widespread in the north. (It only half worked, heretical beliefs persisted in western Kingdom until canon era)

Adrestia doesn't need to do any of that of course, they're the og believers and have Crests of the saints. The ultra religious + culturally chauvinist ones actually look down on northern honor codes for being "barbaric" and "un-Seirosian;" to them Faerghan fealty and loyalty to their king comes across as idol worship-y. You're not supposed to go that hard for another human being, you're only supposed to do that for the goddess!

Meanwhile Leicester's both looser about religion and generally don't care for the tribal honor codes anymore because they got a taste of commercialism + due to interactions with Almyra, but you still see remnants of the honor codes in places like Daphnel and especially Goneril. They both have mountainous (=difficult to navigate) geography, so the old customs/attitudes survived there longer than in other places. Also a bit of it in Ordelia too, again in the mountains.

Jeanne Ironwood: Woman driven by losses in her childhood to dragons. Trained by Percy DeRolo as an expert gunslinger and markswoman, and known for her cold and calculating demeanor.

Kyrie Targana: Tiefling performer who lost her arms to an abusive slaver. Was previously in a circus troupe with Omega and Thorne, and is now in a romantic relationship with Scourge.

Omega: Tiefling magician in a heated relationship with his succubus patron. Younger brother of Thorne. Definitely the most problem-attracting member of the crew.

Captain Scourge Maelstrom: Tiefling pirate captain and champion of the seas. Unofficial leader of the Devils, and the founding member. Captain of The Sea Devil, and tends to stay on his ship.

Thorne: Tiefling brawler known for getting drunk and getting into fights. Older brother of Omega. The most bristly member of the crew, often gets into fights with Jeanne late into the night.

Varris Alwyn: Tiefling warrior in loyal service to the Everlight. Seemingly ageless, and has a constant bet in the background by the rest of the Devils over whether he's really a dragon or an angel.

Verdant Wilde: Tiefling huntsman trained personally by Vex'ahlia DeRolo. Sent to Emon to keep an eye on things in Greystone Keep. Ended up forming a new adventuring crew alongside Jeanne.

Galatea the Golden-Scaled: Gladiatrix known for her gleaming golden battlekini. Left her life in the arena after repelling a raid on the city, seeing she could set out and do good elsewhere.

Jade Higurashi: Tiefling monk who was previously training to become a powerful sage for a local temple. After being thrown out, she turned to drinking and fighting to fill the gap they left.

Jaerik Aldraeyds: Changeling on a mission to find her true father in the Feywild. Unfortunately, her own naturally high libido and trend for falling to her enemy's lusts has delayed her quest incredibly.

Khadamori the Unbroken: Ulitharid warrior who was held in bondage by his own kin for most of his life. Eventually broke free and became a liberation leader, fighting to free slaves throughout the Underdark.

Korrin Vasailiis: Elven sorceress who made a deal with a demon to survive a horrible fate, and became a vampire in the process. Now on a quest to find new purpose, as her life is even longer than expected.

Lorelei Astolas: Tiefling lady of the night based out of Emon, a long-time rival and long-distance friend of the Ruby of the Sea. Known similarly as the Lady of Pearls for her pearlescent skintone.

Onyx the Shadowhand: Black Dragonborn rogue whose talents for theft and throwing down with thugs has been turned to aid and protect the less fortunate. Has a soft spot for children.

Peregrine Weis: Tiefling warrior woman who was once a faithful weapon for a zealous church, but left when they murdered her wife. Now trying to make up for her loss, and find who she is without faith.

Riot Doomthighs: Goblin bard with a love for heavy metal music and a wild devotion to the death god Xyrnyxrys. Also known for wearing very suggestive (but still protective) armors during her performances.

Serena Clyffe: Former noble lady who fled her home after accidentally frying her would-be betrothed with lightning. Now on the run from the law, and experiencing the world for the first time. Absolutely loves storm chasing.

Terra Verdell: Wood elven druid who has never lived in high society and wants to experience all that she can of it. Left her home in the forests to seek fun. Has found plenty by way of encounters with monsters along the way.

Twilight Obsidia: Tiefling from the Shadowfell who left her abusive family to seek a better life. Currently trying to live her life as a witch in the woods, doing good for the locals and farmers.

Variax Frosthollow: White dragonborn warrior, strongest in his clan, with a destiny to become a true dragon. Was the son of a dragon himself, but was only a dragonborn rather than his true heir.

Velvetina Gingersnaps: Lagomore witch from the Feywild with a desire to see the world. Also with a desire to avoid all of the felonies and fines waiting for her in the Feywild for her past antics.

Wilder Evergreen: Tiefling-orc huntsman with a bone to pick with an archfey. Grew up in woods that neighbored the Feywild, and his sisters were taken when wandering in them. Out for blood.

Willow Wellmeadow: Lagomore druid settled in the mortal plane. Protector of the dense woodlands and warden of a portal to the Feywild. Tends to be kind and welcoming to visitors.

Xakos Duskwalker: Half-orc gunslinger and gunmaker. Studied in ancient artificing and restoration of mythical mechanisms. Had his research stolen and spread out, and is out to take it back.

Yora Vor'ziira: Dark elf rogue who was kept as a slave by her own kind and forced to fight in bloody combats. Was eventually helped free by a human slave, and now wanders the surface world seeking a home.

Zhekhar O'Shevaqt: Efreet lord, master of slaves and of coin in the City of Brass. Known for being incredibly charismatic and devilishly handsome. Also known for spoiling his toys utterly rotten.

Zurrak Hellbellows: Red Dragon, often in a human guise. Considered the King of Dragons, and reigns from a long-dormant volcano he has fashioned into a castle. Intent on conquest, and claiming more wealth.

The fruits of dawn

Tultoc: Ah! Here we are my friend. Dawn Fruits! These fruits are well known for their sweet flavour, and their ability to warm you up like the rising suns. We'll have to harvest them quickly before the second sun begins to rise above the horizon.

I'm actually really proud of how this turned out! I'm not usually the best with perspective or backgrounds, but I am really happy with the way this turned out! I still need to practice more on perspective and backgrounds which is part of my new years resolution for art.

Anyway, Tultoc is his usual kind and knowledgable self by explaining to his companion the Shadow Stalker (who I still need to give a name to) about Dawn Fruits, a type of citrus like fruits that are found growing in the dessert regions of Galatea mostly near oasis'. Dawn Fruits a very sweet in taste and have a certain type of magic that grants the consumer a good two hours worth of warmth as well as the ability to see in dim lighting. Which can be very useful when travelling through cold dessert nights/early mornings.

Re about Faerghus and growing stuff :

We have the Nordsalat, being described as :

A magical vegetable that grows in frigid, unyielding environments. Cook into a dish that boosts charm.

In the JP version though, it's "magically" bred to grow in cold regions - so bar reigniting another round of "FoDlAn Is BaCkWaRdS" bcs even if no canons they can use magic to make things grow up in the tundra - this made me think of the AG mention, where apparently some members of the CoS are going to Galatea at the invitation of the count :

Recently, several of the church's scholars headed to Galatea territory, I believe at the invitation of the count. Galatea's evidently an impoverished place, devoid of anything but wild wastes. I guess they're working on some kind of reclamation project. In any event, I'm glad that both us and them are gonna be helping the people of the Kingdom.

Could it be that the "reclamation project" they're working on is sharing the, idk, "magic formula" to make nordsalat grow in Galatea?

The jp text for tomatoes mentions how it can only grow in greenhouses in the Monastery, and we know GM's greenhouse is somehow, powered bymagic. So maybe the CoS members are trying to teach to the Galatea peeps how to make magical greenhouses, or use magic to make plants grow?

Tl;Dr : Church BaD because they didn't share their magic(tech?) that make vegetables grow in poor soils and only do so when they are invited to :(

So this AU is based on the Scarlet/Violet storyline (because I can't resist making a whole AU)

Blossom in the class president and wannabe champion of Oak’s academy.Setting out to finish her final challenge as the next champion, Blossom comes across a strange pokemon (a Roaring Moon which basically act’s the same as Koraidon in this au and isn't apart of her team) that has its powers restricted by a strange magical device trapped to it's neck. Soon after she runs into well known trouble maker and self proclaimed evil genius Jack Spicer who wants the device for his own purposes. After a heated battle where she defeats him, Blossom Realizes that Jack knows more about what's going on than she does. So Blossom decides to blackmail Jack ( he’s been editing his grades so he’s not expelled from school for skipping) if he helps her find the rest of the pieces to whatever is holding Roaring Moon back. He agrees and the two set off to explore the region.

Blossoms is traveling to become a pokemon master and professor. Her partner is a Shiny Decidueye  named Artemis.

Team: Hatterene (Titania), Alola Ninetails (Skaði), Lucario (Apollo ), Milotic ( Galatea,), Lurantis (Persephone)   (I know most people give Blossom a fire starter because of her color scheme, but I've always seen Blossom be closer to fairy types and Ice types. Plus I can see Rowlette/Decidueye fitting Blossom more. With it being a more serious, regal pokemon. Just like how I see Blazekin fitting Buttercup more than Blossom because of it's fighting type. The rest were easy as I can see Blossom having a affinity for Ice and Fairy types, but understand the strengths of having a diverse team.)

Jack was once a grunt for Team Heylin (a group set on world control) after team Skull was disbanded and worked as a double agent of sorts while going to school. Left team Heylin for personal reasons but is now trying to track down a mysterious relic. His partner Pokemon is a Kommo-o named Young (he and Toxtricity were bought by his dad as gifts). 

Team: Toxtricity (Cooksey), Hounddoom (Stein), Obstagoon (Slasher), Scizor (Ryzor), Scolipede (Venom) (Again I know people see Jack having either dark, electric or steal, even a monkey pokemon. But a fighting Dragon type seemed like his ideal (and I blame Croxovergoddess, she was right when she said it was a Jack pokemon) Plus Toxtricity is in the same boat. A punk electric poison type that has spikes? I mean come on. The rest seem like Pokémon that can be easily captured but fit him. I can see the scolipede causing the most trouble) -- I do plan on adding a few more doodle (and a separate piece for Princess and Brute because I have no self control. I even have their teams picked out lol) Any way I hope you like it!

LANDSCAPE

Melody's landscape is a collection of large islands occupying two geographical regions: the misty forested valleys of the north and west, and the subtropical coastlines of the east, or most notably, the south. Los campos de Aramille son mundialmente conocidos por su tamaño, su fertilidad y sus colores. La labor diaria de los granjeros es el cuidado de dichos campos, que garantizan el abastecimiento del resto de territorios. Las granjas también son hogar del ganado que produce la leche y la carne de los ciudadanos, así como queso, lana, huevos y otras materias de primera necesidad. Luminaria: Las luces, la vida y la vidas nocturna. El bullicio, el turismo y el movimiento constante: esas son las directrices comunes de Luminaria. La joya urbana de Synnara por excelencia y su máximo exponente de modernidad, Luminaria es conocida como la ciudad que nunca duerme. Sus calles están siempre llenas de actividad: boutiques de alta moda, centros comerciales colosales, restaurantes y cafeterías de todas las cocinas inimaginables... la inmigración ha permitido a los extranjeros traer sus culturas a una ciudad que vive por descubrir cosas nuevas, por obtener nuevos estímulos dentro de una gran bola brillante que no deja de cegar a sus habitantes con oportunidades de todo tipo. Los visitantes se maravillan con todo lo que Luminaria puede ofrecer, y la oferta de su vida nocturna es incomparable a la de cualquier otro territorio. Su Casino Mayor es uno de los edificios más imponentes de toda Synnara. Luminaria es la única ciudad que cuenta con una línea avanzada de metro que conecta los diferentes distritos de la misma: no por nada es la ciudad más poblada de todas, y por ello el ayuntamiento se vio obligado a mejorar su red de transporte. El puerto de Luminaria es una de las zonas más turísticas gracias a sus restaurantes y a los vendedores artesanales que colocan sus puestos en él. El puerto es la zona de descanso de los cruceros que llegan a la ciudad, y también la zona de descarga de barcos mercantes. No destaca por sus recursos, ya que los pocos centros educativos o médicos que hay son todos de pago o de acceso limitado.

Ragnarok: Lo que antes era un vibrante pueblo residencial ahora no es más que ruinas y polvo. Ragnarok, antes conocido como Balasil, fue el nombre con el que se bautizó al lugar en el que cayó el rayo celestial en la batalla con los Ejecutores. Si bien durante todos los años de paz de Synnara se había luchado por su reconstrucción y fomentado la vuelta a la normalidad en el territorio, la ruptura del sello lo convirtió en un lugar que los Synnos consideran casi maldito. Pocos son los valientes que se atreven a poner un pie en esta zona al sur de Synnara, ya que se dice que es un nido de Ejecutores que no lograron salir de la península y por ello utilizan las ruinas para esconderse. Sin embargo, también es reconocido como un punto de encuentro de criminales para llevar a cabo sus labores ilegales, aunque ni siquiera ellos se atreven a poner un pie en un sitio que trae tan malos recuerdos. Si te atreves a visitarlo, sólo recuerda: Ragnarok no perdona.

Extranjeros: Se reconocen como extranjeros a todos aquellos personajes que se hayan mudado a algún territorio de Synnara pero lleven menos de un año viviendo en ella. Todavía se están adaptando a las costumbras y haciéndose un hueco en sus respectivas ciudades, y todavía les queda mucho trabajo por hacer para poder adquirir la nacionalidad Synna. Mediante pruebas on-rol, podrán ser reconocidos como ciudadanos, con todos los beneficios que ello conlleva. Los extranjeros no pueden trabajar de forma oficial, por lo que sus sueldos siempre son inferiores a los del resto. Aquellos habitantes arraigados a costumbres antiguas los consideran un estorbo — algunos comerciantes incluso pueden negarse a ofrecerles servicio.

Nómadas: Hay personas destinadas a peregrinar, a descubrir, a investigar. Hay corazones que no pueden permanecer atados a un único lugar, almas hechas para el viaje y la aventura: los nómadas se mantienen en constante avance por los territorios de Synnara, son personas que no pertenecen a ningún lugar y de los cuales, en muchos casos, tampoco se conocen sus orígenes.  It felt odd being at the academy again. There were few occasions that required his presence and even less that took precedence over continuing to monitor the Ruska Mountains. Suffice to say, it was getting to him ever so slightly. Matthias had already been more on edge than he would have liked, especially when it came to dealing with noble kids, but the memories of his own time in their place dulled the sense he worked so hard to sharpen.

 He was fond of it, the time he had spent and the bonds he had made. But recalling such things poisoned his thoughts. What was, what should have been, what did bear fruit. The melancholy in his head rarely reflected in his face and he was glad for it. He could ill afford to return to the loud mouthed brat who, in all his cleverness, always overestimated himself.

Being one of many children, in the northern regions of Faerghus especially, was not easy. Gautier was not so pressed for a crested heir as, say, Galatea. No, despite his eldest brother and sister bearing their family crest, their parents continued until he was the fourth of five. Being heir was an honor. For the rest of the rabble? What could be a better deterrent than a force composed of crested knights, all hypercompetent in their roles?

  Being born first was not enough to prove oneself as fit. One had to be adept in all areas to earn the title; governance and court politics, strategy, trade relations, conference with the people, all of that and the like had to be so ingrained it was simply second nature. They were all given ample time to do so and should it come to two candidates of the same mental skill, well it was simply the standard that they’d battle to see who was strongest.

  It was all so fun before he came of age. To learn alongside his siblings and impress his father. Long before he had ever set foot into the academy, it had been drilled into him that once he left, there would be no more time left for him to study, all he could do was fight from then on and he had seen it first hand in how bitter his once eager older sister and how distant the brother who had taught him how to gently care for their horses had become. They refused to even speak to him when he brought word from their father and it didn’t take long for it to dawn on him what was going to happen. What had already been decided upon without a word of his own acceptance of it. No matter if he saw his siblings as better fit, no matter if he had already come to terms with his fate as simply another foot soldier in the footnotes of the legacy of Gautier, his father had chosen him for reasons he couldn’t comprehend, at least not at that age.   His older sister with kind eyes as clear as the frozen over lakes that dotted the mountains was twenty and his brother who’d been so skillful as to always hide his ill intents behind soft smiles twenty five. He had only been fifteen when his father had ordered their battle. Perhaps he misunderstood something along the way…or rather he didn’t wish to believe that such barbarism was something his father was capable of…but he had pitted the two against the one and this was no training session. He saw his own frenzied reflection in the polished lances and if only for a moment, he understood why things had turned out as they had.

 Three years later, he did all he could do to distract himself from it, the responsibilities and decorum that came with such status. The last place where they could ever see others as friends rather than fellow countrymen tied to their duties. 

  He wouldn’t deny them their freedom, it’d only make it far harder for them later in life if they chose to shirk their duties in favor of things which they should’ve already gotten out of their system long ago.
