As fun as The Angst(tm) is, I really hope the Dead People Gang aren't just, like. Trapped in Turbohell Kirbohell forever. For some reason, my thoughts instantly went to Void Termina - Since Void Termina is implied to be reincarnated as a good guy after their defeat as Void, I thought it would be interesting if they got a glimpse of everyone hanging out in the afterlife between the "blowing up" part and coming back as not-as-evil. Plus, now I've got a really funny mental image of that coming up in casual conversation Kirby/Meta/Dedede/some other protagonist and Kirby finding out and deciding "sounds like more potential friends! time to go to hell" to try and (somehow) save them
My own brain was putting a Charlie & the Chocolate Factory style spin on it. They CAN all come back, just...
Sectonia: ...once the Dream Stalk goes to seed
Max: ...once his brain is finished defragging (...or see Seto Kaiba in the manga version of Yugioh)
Magolor: ...when someone succeeds in breaking the crown
Marx: ..."User 'Marx' can rejoin the game in 87,600 hours"
Links to the rest of the mini-series:
Part 1″A Beautiful Sunset” Part 2 “The Sun Never Sets” Part 3 “Screams of Joy”  Part 4 “Visitors” Part 5 “A Perfect Circle”
Relevant: “Conditional” [You Are Here]
--
That said, your bit at the end about "Let's go to hell and rescue everyone!" is partially why I followed this story to its current, silly (?) conclusion! I know it's sounded / looked / been depressing, especially for poor, poor, poor Magolor, but I meant what I said in the tags about drawing this helping me get over some of my own True Arena-induced trauma......
(continued below)
<PS: To the Anon who asked about the Void beach pic? Your answer is here too! Sorry to make you go through all this to find it!!>
...Ahem!
I -liked- the idea of Mags and Marx having come back from their Soul experiences and have used it as fuel, but it honestly bugged me that they seemed to survive when Sectonia and Marx were still MiA...from the same thing? (I get that Max's brain is DELETED but what about his body? I always imagined that even though Star Dream blew up, the "pilot's seat" so to speak was preserved. But...
Basically, even if I could come up with reasons why the other two "didn't" survive, I could never come up with a reason why Magolor and Marx DID outside of "popular characters." ...Not to be too hypocritical, as I'm a dedicated fan of said "popular characters")
But there being a version of Magolor Soul who doesn't "get better" weirdly makes me feel quite a bit better about the other Soul victims. Because... maybe we could be building up to something with them? Maybe there IS a chance for them to come back now, or be saved, like you said. If they're all kinda in the same way...??
(Heck, I probably would have added Galacta as a visitor to the superhell-theme park if I had ANY experience with drawing them.)
Speaking of "the same way" the reason I'd always assumed Marx followed the pre-remake Mago path because they were both in Star Allies, but if there's a version of Magolor who isn't saved, I've started to think that True Arena Marx Soul (:cough: the only form of Marx Soul :cough:) wasn't saved either. Which is both very sad but also, gives me the same sense of hope/unity as the above!
Tumblr media
I had a legit "...aww, darn...!" moment last night as I was finishing this up when I realized Fecty's soul was safely under Efly's care and they wouldn't be able to join the theme park enjoyers... Of course, the very idea of an Attraction to delight and amaze would probably trigger Fecty's trauma, putting them in a worse state than Magolor.
Void's also not available to go to the park, sadly.
Speaking of...!

Here you go, anon!

Character Insight #9: Cryagosa
Full Name: Cryagosa Gender: Female (she/her) Race: Undead Blue Dragon (Frostwyrm) Class: Vanquisher Specialization: Cryomancer Orientation: Demi-bisexual Relatives: No Known Relatives Age: ~14,000 Height: 8'4 (6'3 Visage form) Voice reference: Jade West - Victorious Theme: For The Wicked - Friday Pilots Club
[BACKSTORY]
Cryagosa's life starts as a relatively normal Blue Dragon born before the Sundering, who aided her Flight in their duty to regulate and research Arcane magic. During the War of the Ancients, however, the crazed Deathwing used the Dragon Soul to wipe out a vast majority of the Blue Flight, and Cryagosa was one of them. Falling to the ground that would later be known as the Icecrown Glacier, Cryagosa wandered endlessly in a blank afterlife for thousands of years, recounting the event that killed her and so many of her Flight over and over until it tortured her..
..and then, Arthas Menethil came.
The Lich King's crusade of undeath spread to devout zealots known as the Cult of the Damned who helped to raise Frostwyrms from the glacier like Arthas himself had done Sindragosa. As a result, Cryagosa, too, was raised into undeath, her mind and will bound to the service of the Lich King and to the Scourge. She slayed many an adventurer and soldier in her time, opting to freeze her victims to death in an instant or sometimes tearing them apart with her bare teeth and claws. When the combined forces of the Alliance, the Horde, the Ebon Blade and the Argent Crusade marched on Icecrown, however, Arthas Menethil was slain, and the binds on Cryagosa's will were broken, freeing her from her servitude.
However, she was still stuck in her frozen, dead, skeletal body. She attempted to return to the Blue Dragonflight, but their numbers were scattered to the winds after the Nexus War. There wasn't much of a Flight to return to at all. Disheartened, she decided to embrace her undeath and seek out the Ebon Blade instead, hoping they would take pity on her. She never wanted to hurt people, and she was of the understanding many of the Death Knights did much of the same things she did before being able to turn against the Lich King. Seeing her willingness to now help the heroes of Azeroth, accompanied by her old personality as a Blue Dragon returning, Cryagosa was accepted into the Ebon Blade, and now seeks to help monitor the undead forces of Azeroth as well as protect the planet from future threats like the Lich King.
[THOUGHTS]
This is -another- minor character that the almighty name picker chose, and I thought it was neat it picked my other Blue Dragon girl right after picking the other one (Galactagosa)! Though this one is undead and a Frostwyrm as well, lol.
I like to imagine her ability to take on a visage form through the Titans' gift was lost when she was raised, however she's still able to via arcane illusion magic instead. And just chooses Dracthyr-looking ones, because I like my Dragons to look like Dragons (with the exception of Galacta I guess).
Anyway-- this girl was on screen once or twice as a undead Dracthyr but I rebooted her to be a full Frostwyrm because honestly I just find it more interesting! So, uh.. ye! Hope you enjoyed! <3

AH SO I FINALLY FINISHED AN OFFICIAL REF FOR MY META KNIGHT GIJINKA AND? Not gonna lie I’m pretty happy with his design and stuff (:
I HAVE. SO MANY NOTES
So uh feel free to read them below the cut 😳
warning it’s a LOT
OKAY HERE WE GO
for starters, these are specific to my gijinka, buuuuut most of them also fit my general interpretation of him
- Meta Knight is not his actual name. It’s just the title he gave himself to sound cool.
- As such, he’s not technically a knight, just in spirit. A meta knight, if you will (:
- He takes his image very seriously. It used to be so bad that he would take literally everything seriously, and had a reputation for sucking all of the life and fun out of everything and anything. But, he’s softened up a lot since he came to dreamland. He’s actually a pretty fun guy nowadays (and maybe just a little chaotic, or, rather, enthusiastic when excited...)
- Because of his once dreadfully serious nature, his face is stone cold and “dead eyed”. Once he broke himself of his old habits and lightened up, he became humiliated by how stone faced he is, and it’s one of the many reasons he wears his mask.
- Speaking of his mask! He is sensitive to light, and his mask helps tone it down for him. He can go without it, but if he’s in a well lit area for awhile, he will start to get a migraine.
- As such, he has pretty good night vision.
- Yes...he is very bat like. That’s for a reason! My hc for my puffball gijinkas is that they have a lot of traits similar to their wing type. For instance, since Galacta has bird wings, they have some bird like features like sharp vision, soft feathers strewn about their hair, and squawking when startled.
- Yes, this implies that Meta makes cute bat-like trills and squeaks......(he also purrs. puffs purr, because they are basically just round cats)
- He is very kind and caring beneath his persona, which has become more and more evident. He is also incredibly protective of those close to him. He secretly worries he will lose them, and as such, he does everything to keep them around.
- Despite his agility, he can be quite clumsy at times. This has led to some...embarrassing injuries.
- He’s tiny! 5’0 with heels and 4’10 without them, but since he almost always wears them, he will tell people he is around 5’0 (but almost 5’1!)
- As a knight of sorts, he has a strong sense of chivalry (which is basically canon). It is hard for him to accept any sort of kindness, since he feels he owes something in return. He always makes sure to express his gratitude however he can.
- However, he is really bad at emotions and expressing himself. He suppressed most of them early on when he was painfully serious, and as he’s lightened up, he’s had to deal with actual emotions.
- He uses art and poetry to cope with this and express his emotions. He never lets anyone see it though.
- He also draws cute things. He loves cute things, but is still hesitant to let others know this, as he worries it will
- a) damage his reputation and
- b) confirm to him he is, very much, a rather cute little puffball
- There are many (often very specific) things he is fascinated by, and can talk on for hours on end. However, his more personal and less “serious” interests he rarely talks about to anyone he isn’t close with, and if they’re brought up in public, he often gets very flustered. (yes, he’s shy but he’ll never call it that)
- He loves sweets and has a passion for baking. He’s quite good at it, but not at cooking actual meals.
- Despite Kirby (and the meta-knights) thinking of him as their dad, he is absolutely horrid with children. Does not know how to deal with them. He gets very flustered (and often frustrated) if he ever has to watch them. Since he doesn’t really know how to deal with them, he kinda just treats them as he would anyone else. Because of his caring and protective nature, many still consider him dad-like.
- Oh yeah, Kirby is the exception to this since he is (usually) such a wonderful little dude. If left alone with the other puff, he can act like a semi-competent father. It is very rare that this actually happens though.
Okay, time for some darker headcanons, including a lot of post Mecha Knight stuff (‘:
Oh yeah I have a Mecha Knight gijinka too 😳
-He suffers from depression. This was one of the main reasons he used to be so dreadfully serious, and why he’s so used to suppressing his emotions. He used to use his knightly persona as a not-very-healthy way of coping.
-As a bit of a lighter note, after many years of care and support from his friends, he’s seriously lightened up.
-However, he still has days when it surfaces, and it often takes the whole day to get him back to a more functional state. Yes, even Meta Knight has to take mental health days sometimes (:
-He has a serious issue with abandonment. He worries nobody could actually care about him, and frets constantly that he will lose the people close to him. This stems back to when he got his wings, as many saw them as “demonic” and as a “bad omen”
-Because of this, he has a really low self esteem, which, again, is why he used to live through his knight persona primarily, and was so ashamed of his actual self.
-The Mecha Knight incident left him with serious mental scars, giving him minor ptsd through nightmares and panic attacks when strongly reminded of the incident.
-It also left him with a robotic eye and arm.
-During his fight with Haltmann Works, his non-gauntlet arm was severely injured. Instead of just trying to fix it, Susie gave him a shiny new robot arm. It was originally Haltmann red and black, but he repainted it and, with some help from his crew, slightly modified it to more of his style.
-He also had an eye replaced in order to be compatible with the “eye” that swerves around the mask. He’s been too scared to try rewiring or recoloring it.
-The Mecha Knight incident really set him back from all the progress he made.
-During the first few months post Mecha Knight, he hid himself, only showing up when needed. He became paranoid of him hurting his friends without knowing it, which furthered his isolation.
-Much like how he managed to learn to cope better with his depression, it took him a lot of time and help to get him back to where he used to be.
-And, to end this little segment on a happier note, as of the time of Kirby Fighters 2, he’s much happier than he’s ever been. He’s made a lot of progress, is much more open with others, and much more accepting of his soft side (:
I could honestly go on and on, I have SO MANY notes that haven’t made it into this post, including his backstory, his relationship with the other characters, and a few other miscellaneous details (I even gave him a more...normal name that he never uses cause its cute and why not). If anyone’s ever interested in more though, feel free to ask me, I do have anon ask on after all, and boy do I have a lot to say (:
God, maybe I put a little too much thought and psychoanalysis (and maybe just maybe a liittllleee too much projection) into my interpretations but? hey, I had fun with it
If you actually read all of this bullshit, holy shit thank you and I hope you had fun too (:

Note
Speaking of Nightmare, he does have a parallel counterpart in Super Kirby Clash, one who can open dimensional rifts, as well as knowing about the existence of Galacta Knight. So Nightmare connections with the Ancients deepens.
(If the analysis of Another Dimension being the equivalent of an afterlife then perhaps his dimensional counterpart is actually just him but dead? Unlikely. Parallel bosses in general are very weird and I hope we get more information about them in the future)
I have been thinking a lot about that!
I'm endlessly intrigued by the fact that Kirby Clash called what Nightmare opened up a "dimensional rift" but it looks like none other we've seen before.
It opens up the possibility that there may indeed be other ways to open Dimensional Rifts? If that's the case, could we then reason backwards and declare all the star-shaped rifts are explicitly descended from Elfilis' power?? (Although the Crystal makes star rifts, so then you have to wonder about the creation of 64's Crystal.)
Anyway, if Nightmare found a way to open dimensional rifts without relying on Fecty's power, that definitely makes him a serious threat! (In other news, I know he's Nightmare and he looks SILLY but I love the cracked shades and glowing electric eye.)
Knowing the way lore is disseminated through these games, I've always felt that including Nightmare and Galacta as sort of dual bosses in a game that is a nod to fantasy tales of old and in fact, seems to be designed to explain Kirby history without just making a Kirby game with time travel, is  meant to give weight to the both of them being the origin of Halcandra's great disaster.
“...that repulsive nightmare of a galactic crisis...”
-Quoth Hyness
I know that Void is a part of it too, so it's hard to say for sure what the connection is. Since Void probably wouldn't go all God of Destruction on their own, I think there's potential there for Nightmare to have been the one to set them off? I wonder what the connection between Nightmare and Galacta is.  At least there had to be some connection, I feel, for Nightmare considered for even a moment that Galacta might fight FOR him rather than destroy him.
[More below - the Parallel Bosses and D-Mind!]
-
Now, the parallel bosses being the after-life versions of the characters is interesting! It actually got me thinking about another theory - which is my lead in here, because the "Parallels" are actually called "Another" bosses in Japanese. “Another.” “Another Fate.” “Another History.”
Meaning...they’re bosses where things went differently.
What I'm thinking is that (at least some of) the parallel bosses have ended up carrying the fate of someone close to them.
Parallel Susie is no longer wearing her precious H hairpin. It's possible that in her dimension, SHE was the one who forgot her father after the accident. (After HIS accident? Was Max sent into another dimension in her timeline?)
And Parallel Landia was the one who lost out to the corruptive powers of the Master Crown, as opposed to Magolor. Instead of being a guardian, they were tempted into becoming a devil.
(We’ve got Dark Taranza dressing up as Sectonia, possibly in some strange tribute to his queen, who, judging by his outfit, still ended up changed, but do you suppose Parallel Taranza is actually a bee?)
Parallel Nightmare has a connection to King D-Mind, only here, King D-Mind is the stronger one/the one in charge; as opposed to King Dedede having to go to extreme lengths to stop regular Nightmare and failing to truly contain him.
Speaking of King D-Mind...
...Ahhhhhh King D-Mind!!
So, King D-Mind, rather than being a Parallel Dedede (that one we see in Star Allies) seems to be a Parallel Shadow Dedede - from the Mirror Dimension. We never saw Shadow Dedede in the Amazing Mirror, but Parallel Shadow Dedede is clearly possessed by Dark Mind. (Here, the "fate of one you're close to" could be referencing Dark Meta Knight working with Dark Mind in KatAM.)
But Shadow Dedede is not just Dark Mind's loyal servant, he seems to be possessed body and soul, his core replaced by Dark Mind's fiery eyeball. However, he's got the stomach teeth from when Dedede was possessed by Dark Matter!
...What I think is that King "D-Mind" is possessed by two separated entities at once. And that’s the bare minimum of possessions he’s got going on! (Who knows what else is in there!)
Oh man. I have so many things I want to discuss related to this. My Parallel Halcandras theory. My views on the Mirror World (and Dark Meta Knight.)
Going to end it here though because this ask (and many of the others I queued up this week) are all the way back from July/Early August!
My backlog...is so still long...
