My amazing honeybee @samwilsonsthunderthighs sent me a package that (not only) included the SMA issue but also the book, "Funny You Should Ask", based on that chaotic interview Chris had back in 2011 where they got shitfaced and whatnot, but with obvious changes to it.
And let me tell you, I'm about 150 pages in (I just started today) and the book is SO GOOD so far. Highly recommend!!!!

Percy Jackson Gabe change
PJO TV SPOILERS
THIS TALKS ABOUT THE SERIES TAKE ON GABE AND MY OPINION OF IT AND WHY IT IS ACTUALLY AN OK CHANGE FROM THE BOOK
I think the main reason I'm actually fine with the Gabe change in the show is that his role isn't as needed for the plot.
Gabe's abuse and overall assholeyness in TLT was a way to serve the plot. It was a way to show Percy's insecurities, and draw out his ability to always see the worst in himself when everyone else didn't.
In the show, all throughout the 2 released episodes, (at the time of writing ep3 hasn't come out yet for anyone reading this in the future) we've seen how Percy acts in a way that immediately tells us that he truly believes he is broken. The abusive stepdad part of the story is no longer needed for narrative purposes.
I do still hope they keep the part about Gabe basically calling a national manhunt on Percy though and being an asshole at the end, because otherwise, there is no way the medusa part at the end of the season is going to work. If they don't all it will do is just make Sally and Percy seem like truly horrific people.
Also so excited to see JPK's take on Medusa because that segment in the credits just gave me chills.

I finally got to see Next to Normal last night and it was absolutely incredible and I pretty much cried the whole way through but truly the most devastating realisation I had is that they put Gabe Goodman in fucking Bottom Storage*

how the hell am I ever meant to beat the weird girl allegations when all I have thought about since last night is that when lizzie parker is on for natalie we have a natalie+gabe combo that have similar features. we have a natalie that looks like the brother she replaced. the brother who ruined her life. why is no-one seeing the vision.

I’m back on my Polaroid posters. Introducing my current hyperfixation that has been going on for months. Next to Normal. So obviously I had to make posters of the West end cast, now when all of them are returning.
( photos taking from the official released photos and the youtube trailer)
Songs used; You don’t know/I’ve been/I’m alive/Superboy and the Invisible girl/Perfect for you/Make up your mind:Catch me I’m falling
Also on another note I currently have 40 different notes in my note apps, where I have analysed almost the entire production. Do what you want with that information
( if you saw this before shh No you didnt)

TikTok Starters ❛ Thank god that thing doesn’t have emotions because it would be shitting itself. ❜ (for Max)
Max’s entire train of thought is essentially just a never ending loop of what the fuck, what the fuck, what in the everloving fuck?!
For someone who constantly has visions of the future, she sure as hell didn’t see this coming. Getting attacked by some…thing that looked like a third-grader made it out of mud, bleeding and dizzy from hitting her head after it swiped her and knocked her to the ground, and thinking, this is it. This is how she dies.
What a stupid fucking way to die.
And then some guy shows up from god fucking knows where. The idiot stands between her and the thing and makes a cocky little quip. Christ, she feels like she’s in a fever dream, right now, and she would very much like to wake up from it.
At least Max hasn’t said anything stupid, like how she’s about ready to shit herself. Might as well let the creature kill her, at that point, because there wouldn’t be any coming back from it. She can’t keep her mouth shut forever, though.
“What the fuck?!” Good job, Max. Real intelligent question, that. Very articulate.

Was anyone going to tell me that Jamie Parker is the guy who says ‘you can’t possibly make it that way man are you bloody insane’ in 1917 or was I just supposed to find that out by recognising him myself

South Park needs to cool it on the commentary for a second. Hold on hear me out:
No that’s it.
The last season had commentary on Kanye, The Royal Family, ChatGPT, labor shortages and Trump. Also toilets, which isn’t as current of an issue but the entire episode was still a commentary anyway. In the first episode they literally said “Nobody wants to be preached at.” And then they preached at us. Both are fine, separately, but you absolutely cannot have both.
Some of the episodes widely considered the best of South Park aren’t commentaries. And if they are, they have some overarching story that comes to a lesson at the end. Recently it feels more like they introduce the lesson at the beginning, and then spend the whole time trying to do something with or about it, only to learn in the end that their efforts are futile and then they give up, like in Deep Learning, Japanese Toilets or the Streaming Wars.
They also sometimes just spend the whole episode complaining/talking about something, to MAYBE half-heartedly resolve it at the end, like Spring Break, Worldwide Privacy Tour and DickinBaus Hot Dogs.
Not all these episodes are bad, but they feel off. And I think that if South Park is going to return to its former glory in any way, they should cool it a little. I know people praise it for being current and always having an episode about whatever is happening, but they need to space out those episodes in between episodes about the 4th graders.
I know that there’s a lot to comment on, and that six episodes isn’t enough for you to say everything you want, but this is my plea to you Mr. Stone and Mr. Parker: shut up!
Just don’t comment on everything. Pick two or three things a year, tell everyone your take, and then make some non-current events related episodes as well. Nobody is going to die because South Park didn’t tell the world what they thought of the royal family.
That’s all.
