You hadn’t intended to get involved with anyone from your father’s team. You only wanted to get to know him. You thought the best way would be to befriend someone on his team of geniuses and introduce yourself to him slowly over time. You never intended to get romantically involved with someone you intended only to be friends with. This wasn’t the plan.

You accidentally met Walter in a café when he was picking up drinks for his team after they had pulled an all-nighter working on a case and you had gotten up ridiculously early to meet a friend for breakfast. You had both gotten talking and neither of you realized when your drinks got cold and the time had gotten away from you until you both received calls from your respective people. You exchanged numbers and agreed to arrange a time and place to meet again.

It had been a few weeks since you and Walter’s last date and you had decided to drop by his work on your way to a meeting, you hadn’t expected to walk past the man that you had come to the city to meet. He was just leaving the garage as you were exiting your car and, although he looked considerably older than the one solitary picture your mother had shown you, you knew instantly that this was your father. The man you had come to the city to introduce yourself to and to get some answers to some burning questions.

Over the next few weeks you were introduced to the team, you were not a fan of Tim, he was too cocky and something felt off about him. You like Happy and Toby, you were wary of Sylvester due to his germaphobia and not wanting to trigger him. You weren’t sure how to take Paige, but you stayed around the peripherals of Gabe and Toby’s psychology (just in case he figured it out and accidentally inferred or told everyone before you were ready).

When you finally found the courage to speak to Gabe, the team were just given an assignment and they all had to leave the state for the assignment. You wished them goodluck and watched them leave for their flight.
